Quick stop in Oldham before we went to Manchester. Popped in here and it totally surprised me. I wasn't initially keen to go in but my wife said let's give it a go. I couldn't have been more wrong. We had 2x cappuccinos which were a lot better than the main chain coffee shop cappuccinos and the sandwiches were really tasty. Definitely recommend the place.

Expensive but a nice place for a rest and refreshment in Oldham. Seven pounds odd for two coffees, nicely presented etc but above my price range in all honesty. Having said that, it's not a dump and has decent standards - and it's clean. I'd rather enjoy the experience rather than sit in somewhere that's not inviting 🙂 Update as of 16/11/2022. As said previously, expensive but welcoming and warm, with a very comfortable vibe. In the sense of 'expensive', the prices don't seem to have increased - though we're now experiencing huge hikes in interest and inflation/cost of living crisis, so what was expensive has now become reasonable. Staff with a warm attitude made the experience all the more relaxing. Will definitely use again 😁

Although we live close to Oldham it must have been at least seven years since we went into the town centre and so we found this coffee shop by accident. What a happy accident! The staff were happy, attentive and efficient. Two good coffees and two warm croissants later we had enjoyed a pleasant and inexpensive stay albeit a little longer than expected as it is a great place for people watching.

A noisy environment (some, but not all, of which is down to the works going on outside). I prefer not to be able to here all the conversations (other peoples) taking place inside. They could do with some sort of partitioning to deaden the noise. It's also quite difficult to find a table that doesn't wobble.

Always enjoy going to Rhode Island Cafe when in Oldham shopping. When shopping I always feel I need a rest, so in I go order a coffee, cake or teacake read my paper and re-energise myself.

Had a lovely lunch with 2 friends, Rhodes Island has a nice atmosphere, and the staff behind the counter were really helpful, I will be going again.

Very nice clean place but I wish not just here but other cafes would do just plain ham or cheese not put it together cos some people don't like cheese or cafes tend to put tomatoes on and not everyone likes tomatoes either so hard to find a straight forward butty this day and age

Really convenient coffee cafe with a good choice of sandwiches and cakes. At times it can be very busy so it is difficult to find a seat (although more seating can be found outside). The coffee is bold and full of flavour (like a Columbian taste)

Easily the best coffee in town, hands down. Sam and the gang are delightful and always eager to give you the best experience possible. The clotted cream scones are to die for too! Family friendly, many tables are buggy accessible. Outdoor seating is great for people watching on nice days. Honestly a real gem at the heart of the town center.

Quite busy. Excellent coffee. I had a cheese & onion toastie. Moderate cost, cheaper than most other coffee shops. The buy 9 and get 1 free is good. Will visit again.

Usually visit Costa because the cups are bigger and you get more for your money but the guy behind the counter called Alex does nice coffee art and is really friendly you don't really get that in mainstream coffee shops. He was helpful with choosing one of the many many different combinations of coffee

Always great service at rhode island. Served by Sam, jack and Natalie who always goes above and beyond to make sure we have everything perfect. Great iced coffee and honeycomb latte.

Decent food, would have been better to have a better hot selection of food, price seems to be on the higher side. Staff were all nice and comfortable to approach except one named Natalie, she was very disrespectful and shouts at customers when something goes wrong, and has a very intimidating approach, been my first time to Rhodes Island, don’t think I’ll be coming again if that’s how she deals with customers.

Best coffee shop on town in my opinion! I would choose this over Costa every time and if it was shut and Costa was the only option I have water haha. Love their salted caramel late with oat milk and a tuna and red onion toastie. The staff are always friendly and lovely to have a chat too and it's in a lovely area to just pass time and watch the world go by

Busy but served quickly. My Mums tea was a bit on the strong side as they leave the bags in the cups, by the time you have taken your drinks to your table they are strong already and there is nowhere you could take them out sooner, it would be better if they left the tea bags out of the water so the customer would be able to make their tea as weak or as strong as they wanted.
