A nice museum dedicated to Mari Sandoz. Very neat exhibits and very clean. This is also a Pokémon Go hotspot if you are into that sort of thing.

Small museum on an older, beautiful campus. The staff's enthusiasm, knowledge, and admiration for Mari Sandoz was evident. The staff has many upcoming exhibitions and musical performances. Check on the Facebook page.

Had a tour of the campus which included a walkthrough of the Mari Sandoz Heritage Center. The attendant was very energetic and entertaining. They are working on some wonderful improvements. The displays were very interesting and the layout was easy to navigate.

Such a precious resource for the college, our community, and the public. Mari Sandoz was an amazing author. She never contrived one single thing she ever wrote about, generously sharing her direct first hand experiences with her growing up under her beyond-stern "Old Jules" (her father) out smack in the middle of the mystical Sandhills of Nebraska; Picking up where Eleanor Hamlin Hinman left off in her opus studies regarding the Oglala Lakota mystic Crazy Horse after Eleanor graciously passed the project on to Mari (the two explored the places where the man had been through the course of his relatively brief life and shared it with us from the perspective of the Lakota, a brave and bold work then and even now); Many other books covering Custer and the Little Bighorn Battle, on and on. This Heritage Center does her work and life justice, in my estimation, books and more available for sale there to help support this worthy endeavor. Well worth the visit, highly recommended.

They don't charge you for this but a donation helps them. The program coordinator, Laure Sinn, is great at her job. She was wonderful to talk to. She knew very knowledgeable about Mari Sandoz. She was very entertaining. We enjoyed talking to her and were very glad we stopped there.

Would've liked to have had more time, but they had to close.

Well-displayed items and photos from Sandoz. Informative and interesting docent as well. Of course, you can buy Sandoz books for your personal library.
