Alexandra Falls Viewpoint Mauritius, Africa Black River Gorges National Park From the Alexandra Falls Viewpoint, you can admire the cloud forest of Mt Cocotte (771m) and the view down to the south coast. The falls themselves are pretty rather than spectacular, but it all depends on prevailing water levels. Worth to see! I especially loved the beautiful trees in this park! Very impressive!

Well worth a visit, we arrived a day after a rainy day so the waterfall was powerful. Also the park is very well maintained

In the view point area there are picnic tables with shade and toilets. Toilets were in poor condition with no paper or water. View point to AF is ok, a bit crowded but can get some nice views. In the parking there was an ice cream van with great and cheap ice cream which is amazing after a walk in a hot day. We did a walk from alexandra falls view point to the cascade des galets - highly recommend. Its moderate difficulty as some areas are a bit steep. Avoid in rainy day as can be slippery and dangerous. Takes about just under 2hrs. The end point is worth the effort though 🤩

Nice piece of nature visiting for sure for the magnificent views. The waterfall is smaller but nevertheless a beautiful scenery. Nice parc full of papyrus trees worth walking through. Plenty of parking space nearby. Good walking shoes are fully recommended.

We did a small stop. Easy to park and a short walk to see the waterfalls from far. There is a viewpoint and u can even see the sea. Very nice walk inside the forest with grass to do a picnic or even rest.

Yes, it is a very beautiful waterfall, but unfortunately we weren't so lucky with the weather - it was very cloudy, which obscured the view of the mountains a bit. But the place itself is really beautiful. And the 🍨 in the parking lot was 😋 too. Cioa says Robert.

The hike down the 500 feet fall is not for beginners and faint hearted. Make sure to go with a guide and have proper hiking shoes and to be in good shape. Many parts of the hike are closer to climbing than hiking (including a section where you must go down, then up, with a rope). It takes about 2h to go down and 1.5-2h back up.

Maybe the only waterfall in the area without hawkers, hustle, and bustle? Not the greatest view but pretty nice surroundings - and love the smell of those trees. A couple of hiking trails as well.

Well, a viewpoint like so many on the island. There's nothing else there to drive by and take a photo.

Not what I expected but still nice to see, the view over Bel ombre was nicer as the falls 🤭

You can do it, you don't have to... 😄 Absolute tourist magnet... You can see the waterfall, but even the high seat isn't enough to get it in the picture properly... A little tip for insta: just download it from the internet ... 😂 It's nicer, it really doesn't hurt you to go crazy if you haven't seen this waterfall...

You cannot see the waterfall from the view point. I think, someone should cut some trees back and let people to see something instead of wasting the time to get there for nothing. I haven't been on any of the trails towards the waterfall..., hopefully someone will upload some photos later on. The forest itself is lovely.

View point to the Alexandra Falls and marvellous view to the bayside. 200 m walk from parking (free of charge). I had expected bigger falls and a closer Look. From the view point it is still a distance to the falls. We saw some monkeys strolling around. Nevertheless you can Start hiking tours from the parking place to other destinations, walking time is mentioned.

Pathways well maintained. Great viewing flatform. Saftey railings up. Good picnic facilities. But most importantly- a fabulous view of the gorge, falls and down to the south coast.

Rather less spectacular waterfall, but generally a beautiful facility with a great view of the sea.

Not so impressive in December due to the low flow rate, but the views out to the coast are epic and there are plenty of interesting trails to walk.

When I visited the waterfall there wasn't a lot of rain the days before so it wasn't an extraordinary scenery. Although there wasn't much water it was still beautiful and its easy to reach so the waterfall is worth a visit for sure.

Wonderfully picturesque area that is lovely to take in with a nice far off view of the coast and mountains. The waterfall is actually hike able but the terrain is rocky, and perilous and best left to pros. It takes between 1-2 hours to get there from people I spoke to that did it!

During summer the fall looks like this. This photo was taken from Alexandra view point. But you can have spectacular view of Southcoast. You can also go down to see the fall and take shower! It's almost 1.5-2hr treak. Everything is properly written on sign board there when you visit this place. There's ample and free parking facilities and Benches to have lunch with your family in the shades of trees.

This is a small waterfall viewed from a distance but the view point and the walk is lovely and one can get good pictures if you are into photos and memories.

The spot is nice, but the waterfalls are nothing special and you can see much nicer on the island. Also, it can get pretty crowded. I would not advice it as a primary location to visit on the island All in all it has a nice viewpoint towards the beach and that's it.

The Alexandra Falls Mauritius are found approx. 700 metres above sea level. They can be found in the Black River Gorges National Park. Note: To get to the falls go to Plaine Champagne and head towards Grand Bassin and the Shiva statue. Look out for the signpost of the Alexandra Falls Viewpoint, and once you arrive, you will find a large car park area and vendors selling refreshments and a range of other goods. There is no charge to visit the falls. The falls themselves are pretty rather than spectacular, but it does depend on the water levels at the time.
