First time here, but NOT the last! Andrea was the PERFECT server, got mozza bread app and a HUGE Philly cheese steak and shared...holy cow...being from PA, probably the best one I've eaten!!

I came here to see if the cheesesteaks were authentic. Service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. To my surprise, the cheesesteak was very good and very close to that Philly flavor. It was the best cheesesteak that I’ve had in Metro Atlanta.

Nice lunch outing with friends on a sunny day in February. Safe outdoor dining. Good service. Most had sandwiches and loved them. I had a large salad with grilled chicken added. Key word LARGE. It was only $4.99 to add chicken and it was a meal in itself. Never a bad time here, whether dine in or take out. Update in September 2021. Still great. That Mad Italian has mad skills. I had the grilled chicken over a large salad (again). Wife had a meatball sub. We both loved our meals. Good music by Jordan on the patio.

This is my absolute favorite place to eat! The food cheers me up when I'm down and honestly I could eat their food every day all day. I just wish I lived closer to the location. The staff is always sweet, polite and accommodating. Best restaurant on Savoy Drive hands down.

Save your money! Horrible food. The pizza was like cardboard school pizza! Garlic bread tasted like nothing and the fettuccine was noodles and milk! Horrible! Nothing Italian about it! Italian grandmas everywhere would be ashamed!

Quite possibly the best cheesesteak I've ever had. Beautifully done, service was also perfect

Our first time here, and it was as good as we heard it was! The mozz bread was amazing, and the phillies were huge! We ended up taking most of the food to go! Such a cool place though, and the patio looks fabulous for warmer weather. We will definitely be back,

Okay food, excellent service, nice staff overall. We had dinner last night based on a friend’s recommendation. It’s a cool restaurant that seems to be pretty well maintained with people who seem to have worked there for a long time. Our server was great but the food not so much. I had a Philly Cheesesteak and it was decent. The tots and sweet tea were very good so overall I had a decent meal. My wife and her friend both had the “special” spaghetti with sausage and meatballs. Instead of red sauce it looked like it was heading towards brown. My wife ate hers but her friend set hers back and got some tots. I didn’t try it because it just looked unappetizing. They took the friend’s meal off the tab and didn’t charge for the tots. Since I don’t live in the area I don’t think I will be back.

Best Philly cheese steak sandwich ever. Get the 10” keep your chips and get the fries on the side. Great customer service.

Almost one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. First they brought out our appetizer and the shrimp were not cooked. They brought them back out and still were not cooked. Then the main dish was served with chicken when I asked for spinach and no meat. Which they fixed with raw spinach. Embarrassing. To top it all off they gave a free dessert that doesn’t even look like anything. I have heard nothing but great things about this place but my experience was embarrassing. I had to talk with a manager twice. Doubtful I’ll be back

The Mad Italian made me mad when I paid for their famous cheesesteak with 0.5 oz. Of meat. I’ve had better cheesesteaks at a gas station. See the photos

First time visiting this place and it was a great experience. You can seat yourself. Plenty of space inside and outside. A\C is on So if you’re sensitive to cold, bring a jacket. Andrea was our waitress and super friendly. My son had the chicken parm sandwich and I had one of their Philly beef steak sandwiches. They were delicious!! Very filling and large portions. I took the other half of my sandwich home and ate it for lunch the next day. I warmed it up and it was just as good as it was the day before . That is good food!

I was a little disappointed after trying the food here. Seeing the reviews and how popular this place along the locals, to be honest, I had high hope… Ordered the biggest portion for cheesesteak sandwich, it was dry and flavorless, I was expecting some juicy cheesesteak that meat juice would ooze out when I bite into the sandwich. It wasn’t, the flavor of cheese overpower the meat, and makes the meat so dry and cheesy. Pastalaya was way too salty, noodle was saggy and portion was small, I only saw two pieces of sausages, some chicken and a few pieces of shrimps… it taste worse than something I could make at home. 😑😑😑 Not to mention the wait was closed to 30 mins… I honestly think they are short staffed.

Loved our waitress. She was cool and loved her kissed lips mask. However, what I did observe and didn't like was how ALL the staff carried patrons freshly cooked plates pressed tightly up against their clothing/tops/shirts to their tables... instead of using some sort of trays to help carry the plates out. Other than this, I LOVE THE PLACE And would recommend it to Everyone!!!

It had been so long since we went, the restaurant had relocated. Service was good. Onion rings were decent. Spaghetti with meat sauce was lacking in flavour. Without the help of an Italian sausage sliced in half lengthwise, the apparent absence of salt or garlic would have left the spaghetti tasteless. Wife's chef's salad was supposed to be mixed greens, but consisted of iceberg lettuce and little else. Her soup was thick because the pasta had been in it so long plus the beans were sparse and no other vegetables were present. Our server was pleasant and attentive and combined with decent onion rings saved this from a one star rating.

Our family went for a late dinner after arriving in town. Service was good. Garlic shrimp appetizer was good. My girls were not impressed with the shrimp Alfredo but very happy with the service and my man’s chicken parm was very good. He was very happy with it. Their selection of beers on tap is very impressive.

I did a carry out order for a regular size Philly Cheesesteak. I added mushrooms to mine. It was ready on time, it smelled so good and let’s not even talk about the bread. It was soft like I like but not wet. They also put enough steak on it without me asking for extra. Very good taste. I would suggest trying theirs if you’re looking for a good Philly in Atlanta, Georgia.

KD took great care of us! I had the chicken cheesesteak with added black olives and my partner had the chicken Alfredo. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Stopped in here with my husband and my uncle before heading into the city for a show, and we had a great time. The food was fresh, the portions were ample, and the service we received from our waitress - Linda - was so welcoming. And honestly, she’s got an excellent sense of humor. She was so nice to chat with. I’m not from the area, but I’ll probably be stopping here again next time I’m in town. They’re not kidding about that cheesesteak!

The food is actually pretty good and I recommend the place on taste alone. The fries didn’t come out hot, but the sandwich was. Other people at the table had similar experiences. The service was excessively slow as the place was busy. We waited, after sitting, almost 30 mins to place our order. We got our drinks in the first 5 mins… but the waiter essentially disappeared for the next 25. 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 3 waters, 3 sandwiches w/fries or tots - it was a 2 hour affair (once seated). I would expect that from a fancy gourmet dinner, but not Philly and fries. I’ll be back to try once more… hopefully the service will be better.

Great little sandwich shop that you can tell is worth their reputation. Pulled into the parking lot and all 25+ spots were occupied. The 10 inch Cheesesteak was well portioned and even better with the addition of jalapeños and great fries. Quick service for a lunch stop too

A real hidden gem and family favorite for years. The cheese steaks are great, but the Italian hoagie has few competitors even in the same league (pro tip: ask for the Italian dressing to go with it). My family and I have never had a bad experience here, and the service is warm and friendly.

Its a place for older white people that dont know latin/italian cuisine. This tastes like frozen lasagna. No sauce, poor cheese quality. Terrible waitor service... came to take my order, no intro. I had to ask him his name... "Jack." The only reason I would ever come here again is a zombie apocolypse. Bland taste in music, the only thing italian is the name. This picture is of the lasagna I had, where is the sauce? 🤌🤌🤌

Don't bother ordering the shrimp appetizer. We had a good server and though the hostesses were very young they handled us fine. It was clear by our main course that everything was geared towards profit. Small portions and nothing great. Just enough to get by without too many complaints.

The chicken cheese steak to me was a little plain, over chopped chicken with limited spices on a run of the mill bun paired with the most standard chips. For consistency this should be achieved easily which I appreciate. The restaurant is an awesome place, a lot to take in and the staff from the hostess to the bar tender were great.

It has years since I have eaten at the Mad Italian. Why did I wait so long? Had a craving for a Philly cheese steak sandwich. My wife and I each had one.... Wow they were delicious. Just the perfect amount of meat and cheese. The bread was fresh and was the perfect match for the sandwich. I opted for fries and my wife had tots Both were good fries were a little better. Service was very good. Friendly and efficient. Definitely will return again.

Wonderful wait staff, lovely atmosphere, but low quality food sums up the experience. Ordered the Philly without onion for my girlfriend and got one with only meat, no other toppings. Ordered the chicken parmesan for myself. The chicken parmesan was prepped properly but was lacking flavor. The sauce was likely not made in house and the parmesan used was highly processed. All bread served was not toasted properly and very bland. "Best Philly south of Philadelphia" is probably the opposite of true. Likely the worst one I've tasted. The tator tots were good, but that's to be expected of premade, frozen tots. This restaurant has been around a long time, and while I'm sure it was good at one point, the quality has likely fallen off a cliff and been forgotten somewhere along the way

Philly native here. I lived in the Atlanta area for 12 years now. I read great things about the cheesesteaks here. I finally got a chance to try one. I got “The BIG DADDY” for $20 to-go. I couldn’t wait to get home to eat it. When I got home, I opened the container and there it was… an average daddy. :-( It tasted pretty good, but it didn’t live up to the hype especially for $20. The people at mad Italian were friendly and the service was good. I didn’t wait long for my average daddy. I like the place and would go again if I was in the area, but wouldn’t drive 40 minutes and pay $20 for a cheesesteak.

The portion was pretty decent. Their garlic bread was super tasty. I feel like they could have put in a little more of the meat, considering the price. Overall, great experience

Great food, great staff, in a loud, noisy madding environment. They have metal chairs that customers & staff drag and bang on the cement floor. You cannot move the chair with out it sounding like nails on a chalk board. There is nothing to absorb the sound with the cement floor, large glass windows and a high metal ceiling. Most restaurants have stylish noise absorbing panels on the walls. New quiet chairs and sound absorbing panels are in order. Well, management does read these reviews, and I am happy to say old loud metal have been replaced with quiet and comfortable new chairs. Amazing and enjoyable difference--Thank you
