My wife and I had a blast seeing different murals and street art around Montreal with Danny and Damascus as the perfect guides. Danny was hilarious and really made the entire two hour experience really fun. We learned a lot in the process and have so much more respect for these public works. Please buy Danny a drink. He still got it.

Highlight of our trip to Montréal! Great bike tour of murals, neighborhoods, alleys with Jeff. Perfectly easy and fun way to see and learn about the city. Plus lunch was amazing!!

Chris led myself and family on the non-touristy bike tour around Montreal - by far our favourite time spent in the city! Chris is super relaxed with a quiet confidence to lead cyclists of all abilities - nothing ever felt rushed or stressful. His knowledge of the city - history, architecture, events - is truly impressive! Not one question he couldn’t answer. We learned so much, enjoyed a delicious lunch, and came away with a deep appreciation for the city and its people. I recommend this unreservedly to anyone visiting Montreal. Thanks, Chris!

We took the 2 hours street art tour. So informative…our guide Melanie walked us around parts of Saint Laurent sharing stories about the artists and the pieces along with history and anecdotes. We saw some beautiful pieces. We hope to return for the mural festival someday. Do you want to know more about where you are and understand the language of landscape and street art? Take this tour!

What a great start to our Montreal visit! Danny is a spectacular guide with deep knowledge of the city. More than that, his interest in Montreal wall art, food, city life, culture and current social movements is extensive and freely shared. We got a great overview of Montreal in our first afternoon, allowing us to focus on more specific bike rides and points of interest the rest of our trip. Danny also went far above and beyond his 3 hour tour obligations. We had 2 flat tires and a related bike problem on our own bikes (not bikes provided by Spade and Palacios for the tour), and he solved our problems with his knowledge of local bike shops. It also meant he stayed with us for 4-1/2 hours! Can't say enough about this tour as an introduction to Montreal and Danny as a leader!!

Our flight didn’t arrive in time for the earlier tour. They added a tour later in the afternoon for us. What a great way to start our tour of Montréal. Marie-Pierre was our tour guide. We Had a great tour, and learned a ton about Montréal. Highly recommend!!

I learned a ton about the different mural artists and the techniques that they all use to express themselves. It's like unlocking a door to an important part of the culture in Montreal. I'd recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in this beautiful complex city.

My group had Tom and Felix as our guides and they were simply amazing. The pace of the bike ride was comfortable, the history lessons were exceptional, and the food was super. The guides were very friendly and personable. I highly recommend the four hour bike tour for anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Montreal in four hours. Oh and the bikes are top notch. Super comfortable and easy to ride. Nice touch with the bike colour too 😅

We took the beyond the Basilica tour with Melanie. She was very informative and kind. We enjoyed Chinatown so much that we came back and ate there again the same day. Her knowledge of the history of Montreal definitely made our trip and enjoyable experience. I also enjoyed the architecture of the old banks

Jeff gave us the insider's tour of Montréal neighborhoods. Great information on history, culture and recreation. The bikes are great, easy to use, and the tour was at a friendly pace. The bike tour even included a stop for ice cream and friendly interaction among the rest of the touring group was encouraged. It was very Montréal-like. Wonderful!

I did the Montréal Mural Tour in English. I have lived in Montreal for 9 years and know the city well, but had never taken a mural tour. A friend (who was a tourist) recommended this tour. I am glad I went; it was really excellent. We were only 5 people, so there was lots of time for questions and conversation as well. Interestingly, the other two couples were francophone, one couple from France and one local; the local couple didn't seem to know they had signed up for an English tour. The guide (Mel) was completely bilingual, and I really appreciate that she did the tour in English, since that's what was scheduled. My french is passable, but I could not have gotten as much out of a tour in French.

We went on the mural walking tour around Little Portugal with Pascoal. He is a very mindful guide; it was a cold day and he had extra gloves for one of the guests to borrow. He also took us to a cafe for hot drinks, and at the end showed us where to get the best custard tarts. On the mural tour he provided information about the artists and the annual mural festival. He clearly loves Montreal, and his enthusiasm for the art and the neighborhood radiated to our group. Btw on Google Maps it looks like there are two listings for Spade & Palacio Tours and we were confused about which location to meet the group.

We were fortunate to get connected to Danny for a tour this winter morning. It’s great to experience the city through a local’s eyes. From pupusas to cannolis to local cheeses and charcuterie, we enjoyed the stories of the neighborhoods, the characters and local flavors. Danny has a passion for his city and shares it throughout the tour. We left with coffee and a bunch of award-winning chocolate from two shops we would not have found on our own. Highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I recently took the pink bike tour with our wonderful guide, Damascus, I mean DANNY! (Little inside joke as I kept accidentally referring to his dog, Damascus as Danny) Our tour guide, Danny, was just fabulous. Wonderful sense of humor, friendly, engaging, and a wealth of knowledge about everything Montreal! He took us to so many interesting locations including several art murals on sides of buildings and a really cool “green” alley. He shared the fascinating history of each mural as well as how the green alleys came about. . We had a delicious lunch in a beautiful park. If you’ve got 4 hours, bike riding ability, and a passion for fun, I would highly recommend this bike tour!! Thank you Danny!!!!

Melanie was an absolute delight to spend time with. So knowledgeable and she obviously loves Montreal. The small group made us feel like we all could ask questions and completely understand the information being shared by our guide. So glad we chose Spade & Palacio Tours. Thank you Melanie.

The mural walking tour was amazing! great education on murals, the street art scene (local and international) and even gained some Montreal history knowledge! Pascoal is an amazing guide who is passionate about murals and his city. He even went the extra “mile” to show us a few hidden gems in the neighborhood. We will definitely be back for more tours!

Jeff was excellent! Knowledgeable, kind, and truly a lover of Montréal, he took us around at just the right pace & shared the kinds of information only a long-time resident could. Loved the parks, murals & all the recommendations. Additionally, he seemed an all-around genuinely conscientious human. Support at start & finish from team was also top quality. Great guide, experience & tour! This was the Original Montréal Non-Touristy Pink Bike Tour

I love off the beaten track walking tours and this one was exceptional! Jeff was super personable, incredibly knowledgeable, and both interested and interesting. So many beautiful murals and loved hearing the back stories and about the artists! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone. And also - trust their recommendations! We went to one of their restaurant suggestions for dinner & it was fantastic! Thanks, Jeff, for a fabulous afternoon! Can't wait to check out my photos from the day!

Did the bike tour with Amélie (cheers!) today. Was very nice and showing spots that are not that much advertised in Lonely Planet. Really interesting and fun! Bikes were light and just fine. If you think about taking the tour, please make sure that you can ride a bike beforehand. I wondered some people didn’t get themselves killed today.

We just completed the 3 hour Beyond The Bike Lanes tour with Jeff and I highly recommend ! Jeff gives you a truly memorable and amazing experience, packed with so much information. He is so proud of his city and provides such a personal perspective. This excursion was such a perfect glimpse into what makes Montreal unique! Thank you Jeff!!!

We did the 4 hour bike tour with our fantastic guide, Felix. The age range of our group was 14 - 75 and it was very doable for everyone. Seeing Montreal via bike lets you see and experience things that you just can't get from a walking tour. Plus a delicious lunch in a park to break up the ride. Was a great day! I'd highly recommend this to anyone even if you're not a strong cyclist.

My wife and I were happy to have Jeff be our guide on a recent food tour. Our experience was excellent. He took us off the beaten track of the standard tourist fare and exposed us to places and foods that we would never had found on our own. The eclectic mix of cuisines was like a walking 8 course meal (at least 8 tastings). I am currently writing this review from a brew pub he recommended (Le Reservoir). It is also off the beaten path and another great recommendation. One suggestion I have to the company is to provide a Google map for us to continue our exploration of your recommendations after we finish the tour.

Felix was a terrific guide on the Beyond the Bike Lanes tour. His love for the city is evident, and contagious! I especially enjoyed learning about how Montreal has recently transformed roadways, alleys, and parking lots to support bees (the environment) and bikes (plus humans who ride them). Viva les vélos!

Just finished our 4 hour bike tour with Guide de Montreal Felix Gauthier. What a great way to see Montreal. Felix was so knowledgeable and friendly and shared so many amazing facts about the history of Montreal and what is happening now. The ride was a nice easy pace and stopping for a prepared lunch in one of the many parks was a treat. Merci Spade & Palacio and Felix.

Beyond the Basilica tour was fabulous! My tour guide Amelie was a gem. I loved how much of the city we got to see and all of the little details she shared with us. Stops for snacks and coffee at the perfect times made the whole experience exactly what I was looking for on my first trip to Montreal as an adult. Highly recommend this tour!

We spend some time each summer in Vermont, the wife says, let's go to Montreal. She signed us up for this tour. Instructions where to meet, what to bring, were spot on. Bikes are "rebicycled" old bikes. Refurbished frames, with new gears, derailures, etc. I'm a big guy, they had a perfect bike for me. We met our tour guide, Felix Gauthier, what a charming, wonderful young man. The tour was about 10 miles, over 4 hours, seeing Montreal from a perspective a walking tour or driving around just doesn't give you. They provide a tasty lunch midway through the tour. All in all, the experience was great, and a great value. It goes rain or shine, and before we came to the city, went to Walmart, bought a couple 2 dollar rain ponchos. It rained pretty good , and my wife and I were glad we brought the ponchos. One recommendation, Walmart, Amazon sell these things cheap, Spade and Palacio could have some at the bike pickup in the morning, and sell if the weather is sketchy. I'd would have paid 5 bucks to have one, felt bad for the others that didn't have a poncho. Regardless, great experience, and great tour. THANKS FELIX!

Even though it was raining, we really enjoyed this visit. We all live in Montreal and it is so fun to be a tourist in our own city. Gabriella was a out of this world guide and she is very knowledgeable. We learned so much. We will not hesitate to recommend and we will eventually take another visit with your company!

We had the best time ever! A fab lunch, beer and dessert! Our amazing tour guide Maria was so amazing and knowledgeable. She was so adorable with your 6 month belly. Don’t hesitate to book this tour! Love ❤️

We did the MURAL walking tour, and it was awesome. Really cool insight into some beautiful pieces of street art around the St Laurent area, and the guides are pretty knowledgeable. The tour company (Spade & Palacio) are really kind and responsive, they move our ticket a day later upon request the night before without any difficulty. Cool way to get to know this area of Montreal and meet some people, locals and travelers alike.

Tours so nice, we did them twice!! We had such an amazing experience in January 2020 for the Beyond the Basilica tour! We booked two tours with Spade & Palacio this time around as well. Danny was absolute fantastic during the Beyond the Market tour. His humor and wit mixed with his knowledge and love for Montreal made our tour unforgettable! Marie was an amazing tour guide for the Art Mural tour. She really made the murals "come alive" during her descriptions and explanations of each. Spade & Palacio has perfected the Montreal tour experience!

Loved the tour, the guide was funny and very informative about street art. We enjoyed it a lot. Would have liked him to give us some more placed in Montreal where we could have seen more.

I was excited to join this socially distanced mural tour led by Space & Palacio tours. It was so much fun to walk around and learn more about the public art in Montreal - Danny, the guide, knew a ton about the city, murals, and artists behind each. It was a very COVID-friendly way to get out and enjoy the city, we were all masked and kept a distance. I cannot recommend enough!!

Really enjoyed joining a Spade and Palacio food tour. The pace and flavours were good. It was insightful and fun. It was an enjoyable way of getting under the skin of Montreal.

TLDR: BOOK THE TOUR I live in Montreal. I know the city. I HIGHLY recommend this tour. I booked this for me and two colleagues who were visiting me (IN REAL LIFE OMG) and I wanted them to see something different. Danny was our guide. He is funny, knowledgeable and made everyone (even the shy kids) comfortable. I would do this tour again. I do tours all over the world when I travel and honestly if you like ANY of the following (ANY) just book the trip: walking, art, history, Montreal, air, joy, fun, graffiti, murals, the colour red or blue or orange or green or yellow. Yeah HAVE FUN AND THANK YOU DANNY :)

Wonderful, interesting, and professional mural tour! Our guide made it a point to engage the tour group where we learned so many facts regarding mural art as well as various styles/ techniques. Interpretations were awesome as the entire group participated! Thank you for a great afternoon!

Very thorough and informative tour. My husband really enjoyed it. He visited the Basilica, underground city, China town, and many monuments and points of interest in old Old Montreal. Well worth paying a little extra for over some of the more basic walking tour options..

When in Montreal, changes are you'll go to at least one gallery or museum, why not make it an outdoor gallery! The streets and alleys are filled with murals and art that have stories & artists tales to be told! Highly recommend Spade & Palacio for their Montreal Mural Tour!

Our family had a facsinating and entertaining mural tour with Danny. Super nice guy, very focused on making sure everyone is engaged and having fun. He also recommended several places to eat and go in the city as he seems super plugged into Montreal and very passionate about all that the city has to offer. The teenagers and older folks in our group all enjoyed the tour very much and highly recommend it. We plan to do his food tour when it opens back up again in the Spring.

I went on the graffiti tour in Montreal and while I’m not usually one to take an organised walk I must say that this tour company lived up to its name - definitely not touristy! Very engaging and well informed guide. Would love to do more next time in Montreal

Amazing tour of Montreal's mural scene. Spade & Palacio were great. Made something work for our group last minute that fit into our tight schedule. Kept a group of 9 14 year-olds fully engaged - no small feat. All walked away saying it was the highlight of their trip to Montreal!

  • 5/5 R D. 2 years ago on Google
This was a really fun walking tour! Danny keeps it light and interactive - he’s super laid back and very knowledgeable. We saw a lot of great murals in different styles and learned about the close-knit graffiti community. As a local, it was a great way to explore another side of Montreal and to look more closely at the art I walk by regularly.

The Original Montreal Mural Arts tour was fun and fast being 2 hours long mid afternoon which was perfect for me. Danny was an experienced, funny, knowledgeable tour guide who adjusted the tour to suit our group well. Loved learning about Montreal mural art...so much to see, hard to choose a fav. Appreciated the cafe noir as it was damn cold late January! Will book another tour with Danny and Spade & Palacio Tours directly:) Chees Gay

I highly recommend tours by Spade & Palacio. The guides are so much welcoming and competent. The tours done are in small groups and very personal. They are also not typically touristic and that characterises them. And you get to know a lot about Montreal!

The pink bikes were amazing! We did the mural bike tour as part of a bachelor party and had a great time. Danny the tour guide was funny and very knowledgeable about the murals and artists. Would highly recommend the tour as it was a great way to explore Montreal.

We took this tour on our first day in Montreal, wanting a non-traditional tour to learn about Montreal. It was phenomenal. We experienced a unique view of the spirit of the city. The tour guide was knowledgable and listened to all questions. He went out of his way to ensure that everyone in the group felt welcome. Can't say enough about how much we learned; would go on another tour with this company in a heartbeat.

We did the food tour with Tom this past weekend, and it was an awesome Montreal activity! It was the perfect balance of culture, history, wandering, and of course - great food. We really enjoyed the experience, and learned so much!

Amelie was a fantastic tour guide! Best way to start our visit to Montreal - we saw places we never would have seen otherwise. Learned so much, and really enjoyed riding our pink bikes throughout the city - it is a very bike-friendly place. Our favorite thing were the city parks full of people out enjoying summer. Highly recommmend this tour!

From start to finish, this is one of the best experiences you will have while in Montreal. I recommend doing it on your first or second day to get a true feel of the city and how BEST to get around it, on bikes! I’ve been coming to Montreal for years, and I’ve done this tour several times. Marie-Pier is hands down the quintessential Montreal tour guide, and in fact one of many reasons I keep coming back here. Great fun, could spend all day talking to her about life in this phenomenal city. Highly recommend anyone make this a part of your visit.

Booked the Pink Bike Tour on a whim and enjoyed one of the best tour experiences I’ve had anywhere. Felix, our guide, did a wonderful job describing the vibe of Montreal, its people, and the cultural arc different neighborhoods have traveled as the city evolves. It’s difficult to convey a sense of place to a tourist, but we really felt like we understood a people and place more deeply thanks to those gorgeous pink bikes- and especially our able guide.

We spent a week in Montreal (Sept 20-24, 2022) and agreed that this was our favorite part of the trip. After this ride at the beginning of the week, we felt like we really got a sense of not only the history of the city, but the personality and independent attitude of Montreal. So much fun stuff to see and think about. The stairways, cat footprints in the bricks, garden alleys, murals and food recommendations (we eventually DID get bagels at the Fairmount!). All with a sense of humor and on a very comfortable custom-adjusted bike. The bike ride through the neighborhoods came up in conversation every day afterward. Can’t recommend this tour enough. (I wish I could remember our guide’s name - he was terrific! - but he’s in the attached photo)
