The Rivière Habitat

Restaurant Cafe

👍👍 Just as the name it is the same, overwhelming view of the Ganges and cruise type experience but it’s actually anchored. U can seat in open area as well as inside the deck to get a ship type experience. Nice food nice ambience in a reasonable rates. If the roof top experience could be available then... People often mention good, ambience, experience, time, view, Good, restaurant, quality, worth, chicken,

If the roof top experience could be available then it would have been the double cherry 🍒 on top….Very good place to hangout with friends and family or any special person….👍🏻🥂

There is always a long waiting time at this place so try to arrive early in order to be seated in time to sate your hunger. The Indian dishes are average and nothing exceptional. Unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to try out the occidental dishes this time. Will go back sometime to try them out. The view, if you manage to be seated on the riverside table is great. So suggest you wait a little longer to be seated on this side. The upper deck is slightly crammed up for me personally but do take a peek to decide for yourself.

Amazing experience! Amazing food. Very Good ambiance. You can go there, also you can suggest this to your friends and family, take some time with you, and go there. Food is outstanding, and amazing, and presentation is also mind blowing. I would very much like to go there again. Lovely service. Although you have to wait for sometime, but I can tell you, it's worth the wait. Very good service. Very good indeed. Very much clean and beautiful.

Had an awesome evening with friends. The ambiance is blissful. The cozy nature of the restaurant is enjoyable. The food was great. I found it bit costly. Anyway overall a good experience in Jaloshree in the bank of Ganges.

On a bike ride on weekdays we went to explore Chandannagar. Went to Jalashree, The Riviere Habitat (that’s what it spells) for lunch.. It’s a floating launch on the river run by West Bengal Government. Ambience is great and food is mediocre with usual pricing.

Had a great time day and experience over there.nick name JOLOSHREE. located at Chandannagr ghat for entry you have to take coupon of rupees 50 per person.which can be redeemed while paying at last. if you are from rishra, chuchura or howrah side just simply take a train and then e-rickshaws to reach and if you are from Naihati and barrackpore side ,then either take train for Jaggadal station and then e-rickshaws or auto for ghat ,or you can take bus-85 to reach Jaggadal ghat ,from the Jaggadal ghat only you can see the JOLOSHREE from ferry. Good service Good staff behaviour Good quality Good quantity Worth for every penny I spent there. Thankyou 🌻

Totally loved this place. Excellent views, excellent service, definitely a good place to have your lunch/dinner with an excellent view. The only cons are that the menu doesn't provide a huge variety (even though they have limited options from many different cuisine), and the place is more expensive than most places around. Even then, the experience is worth it.

Best place I've ever visit. Here u don't need any entry fees, totally free of cost. Environment is too good and peaceful. Scenic beauty is glamorous. Best place for visiting with family and friends. On the entrance u see many flower plants and many more things. Here u can see different types of bird inside this asram. Behaviour of staffs are also good. Main attraction is that white temple. Uff😻 the ambition 👌👌 Parking lot is present u can park ur four wheeler also two wheeler. U can spend ur quality time with ur friends and family at here. Have a good day 🤗🤗

Amidst the bank of the Hooghly river, this floating restaurant is one of its kind. One of the most noticeable aspects of this place is the sublime view of the riverfrom the restaurant itself. Now coming to the food, really loved each and every dish I've had, especially the Ceaser Salad and the Mac N Cheese. The quantity as per the price point is absolutely worth. Hence, it's highly recommended to come here and experience the vibe.

Amazing ambience. Good crowd. Very professional staff. Food has good variety and best part is that not too many options to confuse people. Food presentation and taste is top notch, have to wait for a while. But the ambience compensates as the restaurant takes a stroll on the river at regular intervals. Had an amazing experience.

Jalashree-the Riviere Habitat is located on the banks of Ganges at Chandernagore. It is one of the very few river eateries in West Bengal. Excellent ambiance, great food (Indian, Chinese, and Continental) and courteous staff make this place a pleasure to visit. Niladri Sanyal of the Riviere Habitat took care of me as a guest and I was impressed by his impeccable service and polite behavior. The restaurant has two floors, though the top floor is open only during weekends and holidays. You can enjoy your favorite food, while looking at the Ganges through the window. Young couples will love this place as the top floor is exclusively for adults.

This place is worth the visit. The ambience, the view steals the show. Very polite staff and the food is also very delicious. The starters are too good but the mutton kosha and prawn malai curry are not up to the mark.

Good floating Restaurant, ambience is good, delayed service but behaviour of the staffs are really cordial and friendly . Above all food is far below Quality, Fish served are really below standerd. The name of the cuisine is inverse to the food served.

Wonderful floating restaurant in the Hooghly river with panoramic view and serene atmosphere. Food is of superior quality with ample quantity. Staff behaviour and services are also very nice. Would love to go back there again as the upper deck was not accessible this time.

Had a wonderful experience. The ambience is great so are the people over there, quite courteous and polite behaviour. The food tasted great. On the eve of poila baishakh, we had tasted different menu and indeed they were delicious. Well maintained restaurant with the view of ganga. Besides, they do have live concerts happening over here.

The Riviere Habitat is an absolutely mesmerizing experience. The floating restaurant is an absolute treat to board. It does go around the strand on specific days. The food is good and the ambience is 👍. In the evening or on special days, the decoration is very eye soothing.

Atlast a evening time we visited the Riviére Habitat also known as Joloshree. This is the only fine dine floating restaurant on the river Ganges in Hooghly District. This sitting area has two parts. One indoor which is movable like luxury boat and another open air jetty. Ambiance was attractive. We had ordered Shami kebab, Crispy chilli garlic fish, Chicken burnt garlic fried rice, Fish in black pepper sause, hot garlic chicken and Darshan with ice-cream. All items were good to taste, worthy according to quantity and price. Staff's were professional and cordial. Overall good experience and recommend to all.

The meal was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic, and Miss Nomita's hospitality was the icing on the cake. We truly enjoyed our lunch there. I highly recommend trying the kasundi mahi tikka—thanks again to Nomita for suggesting it to us!

A good place with perfect ambience to hang out with friends. The scenic view adds up to the awesomeness. The food is ok but as compared to the price its not worth it.

Good ambiance inside the floating resturant. Food quality is good but some items are overpriced considering the quality of food and overall standard of the resturant. Hope in future they will consider riding experience over Ganges.

Excellent place to visit. But serves the food very late , should keep more staff. The outside Cafe space, food and beverages should be served. Food prices are too high , should be reduced .Some food from the menu was not upto the mark. Overall good experience. Washroom was in a mess, some attendant should be there to sanitize it regularly during the day.

A vintage ambiance with fine dining experience is all to look forward to, in this restaurant. Food is below average. The fish orly we had was oily, and i didn't find the trademark taste of fresh bhetki. Probably would go once more to try out the chicken items. Cons- 'wheelchair' access not available

Good location.People are helpful for parking car beside ferry terrace. Ambience of the restaurant is very good. Wash room is very clean and maintained properly. Food items are very much tasty.Presentation of food and reception attitude of the workers are praiseworthy. But if there will be one fixed time slot for the movement of the boat ,it will be helpful for the visitors. Lastly in website and in other every places phone number is not mentioned.Hope authority will think for those above points.

Located at Chandannagar Ganga ghat, stand. An isolated floating restuarant where u can spend a silent evening or having dinner with your love one. Decoration is quite impressive and innovative. Staffs are well behaved, food quality good. Price is on higher side. Night lightings bring out the beautiful of the floating boat restuarant. It has open and room based sitting arrangement. I prefer the open one for decoration.

Lovely place for dine in. You may try Fried Ice cream at there. This has no such views or fine ambience in night from my point of view. Nice and calm behavior of all the staff and quick delivery make it popular.

The ambience and the idea is superb. The Place is so beautiful and spending time with your loved one(s) is perfect with such a peaceful yet joyous environment. My only complain is that the food does not live up with how amazing the place is. I expected much of the food after seeing that the overall restaurant is pretty luxurious, but it seems that it did not meet my expectations. The spaghetti aglio e olio wasn't that flavourful at all. The Schezwan rice was very good, but the taste of chicken black pepper was almost identical to chilli chicken. There was no distinct flavor of the pepper. ( And according to me it wasn't very spicy as well, as it suggests on the menu but different people have different spice tolerance... I have a high spice tolerance; so that is understandable.) Overall, if you aren't a HUGE fan or aren't very particular about your food, I think it's pretty chill place to hang out with your friends and family. My grandma had a very nice time and even she very much appreciated the ambience of the restaurant. ( She had the chicken sweet corn soup and she said it was very nice. And enjoyed her dinner) Had a nice time with my fam 🤗 I'd recommend to visit atleast once ❤
