It was a very nice experience at this place. The ambience is very nice. Being a weekday, it was easy to get in very quick. We had ordered 1 Bagha Thali and 1 Chicken Thali. The test and presentation was too good. I will definitely visit this place again very soon.

This place is ideal for those families who want to taste genuine Bengali cuisine food without the hectic preparation baggage. Either wise most of the menu are quite a daily platter in Bengali households. We had ordered Haritakir Thali and Rajbarir Kosha Murgi, the quality and quantity both were sufficient. The combined effect of gupi - bagha themed ambience with decent lighting , music and unique food serving made those familiar menu taste nostalgic here.

My first visit to an authentic Bengali restaurant. The experience and ambience was great. They have a special way of serving food, which I won't disclose here. You should visit and find out yourself 😉. The food was great specially the chicken dak bunglow. Overall it was a great experience on a summer afternoon.

This place serves authentic Bengali Food. Really liked their ambiance. I feel little bit understaffed when it was crowded. Every items have distinct flavour and taste. Vegetarian options are well balanced. Fish was super fresh. Not pleased with the mutton because it was too small comprising the price. I went there several times but every time it was not the same but a brand needs to keep their consistancy. N. B. : The sell mineral water bottle instead of regular water and when you asked for regular water they denied it with a smiling face and nobody wants to argue regarding this matter while having in a fine dine. **I would like to suggest the management to increase the price of your items a little bit but avoid this kind of push sell.

I'm giving 3star for the behaviour of the employees and for the ambience of the restaurant... The concept is very nice... The background music is delightful... A lovely tribute to legend Satyajit Ray... But the food quality is very much overrated.. They are serving good quantity of food but the taste is not appreciable. I should mention that they are maintaining hygiene properly.

Amazing ambience. The starters gondhoraj chicken , pomfret fry and illish fish finger was delicious. The dhaniya chicken was overly sweet. We tried the ilish pulao which tasted good. Some of the food like kochupata bata diye bhapa chingri as suggested by most was really good. Gach pathar dalna and dhoker dalna was average. Borishal illish bhapa was good and the mustard based sauce was nice and spicy. The space is relatively small and can accomodate 60 people at most. The staff was really courteous and the opening lines "Hathe hathe dao Tali tobe asbe bhuter thali" was a unique experience. We loved the overall experience. For a family of 5 we had a bill of around Rs.3700 (had some leftovers) So if we go by price it is a little on the higher side. The quality and quantity was sufficient.

Bengali dishes are soooo delicious in taste.. talking about presentation ohh it's purely authentic.. every item was served in kansar plates and bowls give a pleasure to eye.. feels like you are in a state of zamindar's dining table.. Must recommend items :- .. 1. Vetki fish fry 2. Vetki paturi 3. Ilish macher matha diye kochu shak 4. Ilish paturi 5. Ilish vapa 6. Basonti polau 7. Chingri macher malai kari 8. Dab chingri Taste and portion :- What can I say about taste!!!! It's absolutely delicious... Proportion was enough to share between two people. We had tried vetki fish fry, gupir thali, baghar thali and dab chingri...

It was a great experience at 'Bhuter Raja Dilo Bor'. The ambience made us feel around "Bhuter Raja's star" or inside Hirak Raja's palace. The food was equally tasty and delicious. The authentic bengali dishes along with the ambience will definitely make someone feel happy and pleased.

First I would like to Thanks Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor - Chandannagar and entire team. It was our First Wedding Anniversary and we selected this place for our Anniversary celebration. We are very delighted by their hospitality and arrangements. They made our special day remarkable by providing "Phooler Mala" "Chandan" "Pancha Pradeep" And yummy "Payesh". Next I am sharing my review with the Food the main attraction. We had ordered "Hirak Rajar Thali" which was amazing. The quality and quantity of the Thali was excellent. Very pleasant ambience with Gupi Bagha theme by Satyajit Roy. Authentic Bengali cuisine. Staffs are very helpful with always smile on face. Parking available in front of the restaurant.

The food was heavenly and we had a wonderful experience. We went around 2 pm and luckily it was quite empty though it was a weekend. We were 2 people and we ordered 1 Mutton Thali, 4 pc Luchi, Rice & Aloo Dum and it was more than enough for two people. The moment they put down the plate, the aroma of the food was so good that it made me even more hungrier. Everything tasted amazing and the servers were really nice. The reason I am not giving it 5⭐ is because the mutton piece was very small for a mutton thali and it was mostly fat instead of meat and the paturi which is a fish wrapped in banana leaf had a very small piece of fish and it was mostly the paste which covered more than half of the dish. Also there is a 5% GST in the menu which is not included which I personally dislike when restaurants don't include it in the menu itself..

Goes without saying, you'll love the vibe if you are a Bengali or you simply love Satyajit Ray's works. The attempt to recreate that ambience is genuine. Coming to food, we ordered - 1. Bhetki fry and chingri popcorn for starters. Loved the chingri popcorn. Bhetki fry was also decent. 2. Basmati rice, basanti pulao, luchi, chicken dakbunglow, mutton dakbunglow and chitol maach er loitha for main course. The rice items and the luchi were good. But the meat and fish preparations were pretty mediocre. The proportions cause disappointment when you consider the prices. Both chicken and mutton pieces were not that great. 3. Masala thumbs-up and aam panna for beverage. Goes well with the rest of the food. Service was good. My family and i had a good time.

I like the restaurant. Its a theme base restaurant it's base on movie Goopy - Bagha.. And the foods also good.. There are many types of thali and individual item also. You can choose whatever you wanted to eat. And the price also reasonable.. Over all its a good restaurant..

Whether It be the Food Quality, The environment atmosphere, the service , each and everything is so good.. The fun fact if you order Thali they will ask you for something(**optional I will not sayit) surprise..** This Restaurent is really superb very premium and nostalgica for many.. Also unlike any other they have always been to there services , there behaiviours towards there customers are so great.. In here the environment feels like the old satyajit rays theme based on "Gupi gyaen baga byaen" and it was so great listening to those musics and vibes, enjoying with families.. Ideally best for anyone,. But yes with family this is the best I have ever met.

If you wish to have an authentic Bengali dishes then you can prefer, but the only problem is that the food is too expensive, Better to say good for showoff as they have very traditional Bengali vibe inside, right now what I didn't liked was it's limited menu option. I think they should be active in updating the menu as when I visited, I was given a menu with the list which was changed during Durga Puja, as I saw a different menu in the Google which didn't match with the actual, what I was given at the time of visit.

I would rate it average, but definitely recommended to visit once, interior is quite good and food quality is good. I'm quite disgusted at one of their custom while they are serving the food. It's way embarrassing 😅 lol. But one time visiting is recommended. Food quality is good for the over priced 😂

Food (Thali) is slightly overpriced in my opinion. The quality of the food is quite decent. Cons : They took a lot of time to prepare thali. They don't accept Card payment. After booking the table online they are denying that we don't support online booking in Chandannagar branch. Car parking not available 😭

We visited this restaurant during Jagadhatri puja, it specialises in bengali cuisine. We had Basanti Polao and Chicken Dakbunglow. For me food tasted good (nothing extraordinary) but service seemed a little slow as restaurant was a bit busy that day. Prices looked a bit on the higher side. Atmosphere was nice but the place looked very tightly packed. Overall it was a good lunch experience.

The decoration was good, having 90 sit capacity. If you are planning to go on holidays then better visit early, otherwise you have to wait for a while. Food quality is average, not so good. Staff behaviour was good.

Me along with a friend of mine planned suddenly to drop in to this much hyped restaurant today. Well we both are foodie and visited many placed across the country. So we were excited to check this one out. As expected the theme was superb. Reminisced childhood days. The famous "Gupi Bagha". We had to share a table with another couple as huge rush was there. We didn't mind neither the other couple. Small restaurant. But rich quality. Decor was fantastic. We were pleased to find such decor near our hometown. Menu was decent. But they had limited items when entered. Most of the servers were nice and spoke to professionally. Initially they were chasing us for the orders. So we decided to go ahead with one starter first. They suggested to with Aam Paana and Vetki Fish fry. We accepted and it did justice to our taste bud as per it's price. Next we ordered one Gupi thali and one Bagha thali. As per my experience the prices for the thali's were decent. Quality and quantity of food were really good. My thali was named Bagha I guess. The Golda Chingri preparation was really dull. So as the Gondhoraj Chicken which was included in the other thali named Gupi. Rest all the items were perfectly fine. They served Bislaris. Servers were careful while serving the thalis and explained properly. We were served late. So one of the servers apologized. We understood that it was due to rush hour. The most interesting thing was the punch line which they will ask you to utter before serving the food to your table. It adds to the charm. All the servers were wearing mask and at this time this was appreciable. But we were really annoyed with the noise. Atleast 2 or 3 YouTube video makers were having lunch at that time and frankly they were annoying. They were making a lot of noise which was bummer. I hope they will realize this soon enough and atleast care for the other patrons. Also they don't have any waiting place outside the restaurant. We had to stand in open road for our time to come before entering the restaurant. This can be looked into. Tap water wasn't available. This was irritating. Tissue paper wasn't there at the table. It should be a serious concern. Had to ask for desert spoons which wasn't given along with the food. This is also unexpected.

Except for the unique ambience and thematic representation of the food names, service etiquette and decoration based on 'Gupi Bagha', the actual product and service has nothing extraordinary except for the availability of a long range of authentic bengali fish and specially veg items in the menu.

Been there for my dad’s birthday celebration. They have shown a great gesture to make the day special for him. They welcomed him with shower of flowers, followed by warm welcome with a garland. Food and ambience was awesome as expected. Stuff behavior was excellent including their overall hospitality. Highly recommended..👍👍👍

The place has an amazing ambience as per the mentioned theme. Apart from that the quality and quantity of food is also great. You can bring elderly people too. The only issue is that sometimes the amount of sweet is a bit too much in the food.

An authentic bangali foods restaurant in Chandannagar. We loved the food quality and quantity. Ambiance is too good, also the behaviour of stuff. Highly recommended to taste bengali cuisine.

Baseline average. Nothing special in food. Fish Fry was good. Food is little too sweet for my taste, gravies were bland. Chingri in malaicurry was hard as rubber. Ambience was great.
