Great initiative. The museum is well made. The mentions of most of the details is an add on. Entry ticket is Rs 50/- for adults. Immersive experience available too. (Didn't go for that, though) Only photography is allowed. No videography. Fully air conditioned. There's a sovereign shop outside the museum. A cafe for eating as well. Well-built. Must visit once.

I'm a huge fan of museums so enjoyed wvey bit of it. I'm also a fan of people who sacrifice their love for the nation. If anyone's working hard, so that we get a good nights sleep during the war time or normal times, I believe thats extraordinary. I've respect and love in my heart for army officers, freedom fighters, navy officers, airforce and all those who sacrifice their lives or serve the people of the country and are dedicated to the nation. Huge respect. And, I salute them and wish for their well being. This is why, this place has a special significance for me, maybe. Loved the museum. Nicely built abd a wonderful initiative this is. There should be more places like this one. There's immersive experience and a normal one. For normal, adults are charged Rs 50 while for immersive around Rs 295. A guide follows you to explain everything. That's how it works. While in the normal one, you can enter the hall and explore on your own as per your understanding. You can click pictures but no videography. A must recommended place if you're in Chandigarh and love aesthetic museums.

The immersive experience is awesome. All are received with smile and pride and each of the guest is attended very individually. The Heritage Museum is an eye opener on the role of the Indian Air Force in winning crucial battles, rescue operations and training talented officers.

very enriching experience.. There are 2 types of tickets..one is normal one which is 50 rs and one is immersive one which is 250 rs. Immersive tickets have high demand with limited slots and can be booked in advance through chandigarh tourism app. Immersive experience starts with a guided tour about all the defence artifacts in display and their stories and history. Then at the end one can experience flight simulators which is the best part. Whole experience takes around 2 hour.Normal ticket people cant experience virtual reality part but still it is worth it considering the scale and real models of different defence equipments.

Indian Air Force Heritage Museum, Chandigarh is a landmark destination. If you want to witness each and everything in the Indian Air Force then you must visit this place. Miniature models of all planes, jets, helicopters, missiles, bombs, engines, guns and uniforms are displayed here. The guide staff is very nice. They demonstrate everything in a polite manner. The audio visual show brings you to the achievements of the Indian Air Force. Hologram Show gives a glimpse of all airplanes used by the Indian Air force. MIG 17 Simulator gives you a real life experience to take off, fly and land the jet. The heritage center was inaugurated on 8 May 2023 by Indian Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and is built on an area of 15,600 square feet. Located in Sector 18, the Chandigarh Administration is in charge of running the IAF Heritage Centre. It has five decommissioned aircraft on display, including a Hindustan Piston Trainer-32 primary flying trainer aircraft, a MiG-21 single-seat fighter and a Gnat aircraft (Sabre Slayer). The Indian Air Force Heritage Museum, located at Chandigarh is India's first air force heritage centre. Opened in May 2023, it showcases the role of Indian Air Force (IAF) in all the wars and is equipped with modern paraphernalia like virtual reality, augmented reality, hologram, simulators and electro-mechanical enclosures.

Must go place, not only this place has amazing set up but also the guide and instructors were very informative and cooperative. I must say that it is a very good initiation taken by IAF. So basically there are two type of tickets in one of them you'll get chance to visit stimulators and see motivation video and you can have a 3d experience of sitting in the plane. You can book your tickets in advance by chandigarh tourism app. An amazing place which tells us about all the bravery and sacrifices our armed forces have made for our peace and security. This place motivated me a lot. Kudos to all the armed forces. JAI HIND! 🇮🇳💕🌟

It's a good initiative. But the experiences offered with special ticket price has to be improved. The hologram show was not really a hologram. The simulation or vr, they have to improve the quality. People around the world are now very much exposed to all these technologies. When we are exhibiting something new, it should have first class quality. But as I mentioned overall a great place.

Although this place is in it’s initial stages, one must get their family to visit once at least. It shows the history of the Indian Airforce and about its valiant fighters and the artillery and ammunition and the aircraft’s used in previous wars etc. There are currently no tickets to buy.

Make sure to book tickets in advance online for VGR experience. If you are visiting on weekends expect that you will not get room for it. Or visit any other day else weekend to avoid rush! I went on sunday i didn't get chance to see cockpit due to heavy rush! Normal entry fee is 50 per head above 18 years. Kids are free!! If you want to experience digital flying experience then you have to pay 250 per head extra!! Means 50+250=300/head count

A good collection of information about air warriors of Indian airforce. Very nice ambience. Easily accessible and in the heart of city. Must see exhibition. Other attractions like virtual reality of flight navigation, flight simulator, etc. for extra charge can be enjoyed.

The Indian Air Force Museum in Chandigarh is an absolute gem for history enthusiasts, aviation aficionados, and anyone curious about the incredible journey of the Indian Air Force. I had the privilege of exploring this museum through a virtual tour, and I must say it was a decision that enhanced my experience tremendously. The virtual tour tickets are a must for anyone planning to visit this museum. They offer a unique and immersive way to explore the vast collection of aircraft, artifacts, and exhibits housed within this institution. The convenience of being able to navigate through the museum's various sections from the comfort of your home or any location of your choice is truly unparalleled. The tour itself is a journey through time, starting from the earliest days of Indian aviation history to the present. The meticulously curated exhibits showcase the evolution of the Indian Air Force, its pivotal role in defending the nation, and the technological advancements that have shaped its legacy. What struck me the most during my virtual tour was the level of detail and historical context provided at every step. The interactive nature of the tour allows you to zoom in on exhibits, read informative descriptions, and even watch informative videos about specific aircraft and missions. It's a learning experience that goes beyond the boundaries of a physical visit. The Indian Air Force Museum's commitment to preserving and presenting its rich history is commendable. Through the virtual tour, I felt like I was given access to a treasure trove of knowledge, stories, and achievements that might otherwise remain hidden.

I recently visited the Indian Air Force Heritage Museum in Chandigarh, and I must say, it was a truly captivating experience. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by an impressive display of fighter jets, meticulously arranged as showpieces, each telling a story of its own. The museum boasts an extensive collection of fighter jets and engines, offering visitors a glimpse into the technological advancements of the Indian Air Force over the years. The sight of these majestic machines is awe-inspiring, giving you a profound appreciation for the skill and bravery of the pilots who once flew them. One of the highlights of the museum is its portrayal of various wars where the Indian Air Force showcased its power and prowess. From the Indo-Pak wars to the Kargil conflict, each exhibit provides valuable insights into the pivotal role played by the Air Force in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty. Moreover, the museum doesn't just focus on the machines of war; it also pays tribute to the men and women who served in the Air Force. Display cases filled with personal belongings and memorabilia offer a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by these brave individuals. Throughout the museum, visitors are treated to a wealth of information related to the Air Force, from its history and achievements to its technological innovations and future aspirations. It's a comprehensive educational experience that appeals to both aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike. In terms of practicalities, the entry fee of ₹50 makes this museum an accessible destination for all, while the option for an immersive experience at ₹295 adds an extra layer of excitement for those looking to delve deeper into the world of aviation. Overall, my visit to the Indian Air Force Heritage Museum was nothing short of remarkable. It's a testament to the rich legacy of the Indian Air Force and a fitting tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country with honor and distinction. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a captivating journey through India's aerial history.

This experience trumped all others in Chandigarh. We especially loved getting into the cockpit of the fighter plane and the simulation experience of flying and landing the plane. We bought tickets for all the experiences and we felt it was very reasonable for the fun we had. Do remember to visit the souvenir store. We picked up a sweatshirt, pen and keychain set, magnets and notebooks. There is also a cafe in the premises.

A must visit place in Chandigarh where you get the glimpse of the history of Air force back from the British Era. One would also get to know about different Fighter jets, helicopters and missiles and other weapons possessed by IAF. One would also learn about major historical events when the Airforce personnel did their best in ensuring the safety of the country and its people. All these things are represented by beautiful artifacts and sketches. They also provide guided tours and explain details.

A must visit place in Chandigarh. You get to learn about the history of Indian Air Force. Get to see different models and cut outs of the engines. For making the things more interesting, they have kept a simulator which is the major attraction and also there is a VR experience. The Heritage Museum is very unique and the presents is very good. It is closed on Monday and open for other days. The timings are 10AM to 6PM. The ticket price is 50 rupees and for simulator experience you need to book it first online. Also there is an amazing cafe and a souvenir store in the premises.

The newly inaugurated IAF heritage center covers the evolution of the Indian Air Force from World War era till the present avatar. There are two kinds of visit - one (@INR 50) that covers a guided tour along the galleries depicting the evolution and contributions of IAF in various battles, and the other (@INR 295) that let's one experience AR/VR based flight simulators, holographic depiction of various fighter aircrafts, and an small movie on various IAF operations. There's a small cafe at the center, but it is grossly overpriced (a cup of tea costing almost 300). The complete experience requires about two hours, while the basic guided tour takes about an hour. Expect additional delays, especially at the simulators, on weekends, as these can be experienced one person at a time only.

Without considering the simulator show which costs around ₹295, everything else was really awe inspiring and engaging to anyone who is a defence tech enthusiast with being nationalist. I have seen old engines, aircraft, war simulations, bombs which you can see clearly in the videos i added with this text. It is worth your time and money to get a whole experience one should not have less than 2.5 hrs of time and should cost him around ₹350 per person. Every parent should at least for once give a visit to this place with their kids to inspire them and open up their minds to a new world.

It's the very first Airforce Heritage center of Indian Airforce. This place gives us a glimpse of IAF history how they have been guarding the sky and protecting us. They even have Indian's very first Indigenous Aircraft Kanpur in this exhibition. Other than that the 3D presentation of aircraft and simulator (flight) enhances the experience. Not to forget the VR of FIGHTER JET's is like Cherry on top.
