While the location and exteriors are good....the property isn't well maintained. The bathrooms leak, the whole place has a foul smell of a closed place for a long time....needs an absolute upgrade especially the rooms and bathrooms. If you just wish to spend the night without being too fussy you sure can opt but if you are the one who has an OCD then keep away from this place....flies to broken taps, to rusted shower you will find a problem in everything.

This place could be super wonderful if the authorities can invest in room infrastructure of this hotel, currently the rooms are in bad state (beds, accessories, furniture). The staff is really helpful as they make sure you have alternate rooms to check if the first pick is not in good state. The location is perfect as it is in 17 sector kind of making it a central location.

Visited this week with my family as we booked 2 rooms. Overpriced for the condition of the rooms. Housekeeping can really use some revamping. Food tasted decent from their restaurant upstairs but the whole family fell sick the next day. Location is great so just get a room if you really have to. AVOID THE FOOD AT ALL COST!

For the price that we paid the room wasn’t up to its standards. The locks on the bathroom door were broken and the shower was not working. The key card to open the room door was also a pain as it stopped working for me twice, and I had to go call someone for assistance each time. The staff however were very nice and helpful, very respectful and helped me out very fast. It may just be that the hotel just needs some renovations at this stage. So I would rate the hotel 3/5 And the staff 4/5 Thank you.

Rooms are pathetic! I paid 11K for a room which resembles an 800 rupee guest house! If you order anything, the room service usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hr just to bring things like a water bottle or a cup of coffee! They won't change towels and won't provide toilet accessories and bathroom slippers till you call them at least ten times and yell. Breakfast was really good and the location is just perfect!!

The hotel is at prime location, near sector 17 market. The service was good, they clean the room everyday even without asking so. Good aminities but few more may be added like iron, sleeper etc. Dining was good with varieties. Staff is very helpful and cooperative.

Terribly old place that begs for renovation. Stained bathroom and floor tails, sanitary fittings may break any time, taps leaking, even the towels are probably 10-20yrs old and full of stains. Not at all worth the money they are charging. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL AT ANY COST.

Only thing is property situated in lush green location and city centre of beautiful city Chandigarh. Else average ambience, service, rooms, housekeeping. Having inhouse laundry service. Bar is located on height so one' can enjoy view while having booze.

This hotel has an excellent location & that is its major plus point. Rooms are large and airy but not well kept. The mattress was soggy. Food was average with limited choice in the buffet I wish it to be well maintained for a better experience

Location is Good as a city centre. Rooms and amenities Are also good. But the main Issue here is the Buffet Food. If you are staying here and having the buffet Food then I should warn you , they have absolutely 0 taste regarding the dishes they are preparing. So better order food Online or else find a good place to eat. But the Restaurant on 6th Floor (Cloud 9) Has a very Good Taste and should try once.

Overall Good Hotel, all the areas are clean and well maintained, just the rooms are not well maintained, the roofs are slightly leaking, washbasin area is choked. Rooms are not that comfortable, Rest talking about the food, its good. The buffet have limited items but the food is good quality and hygienic. The location is also good with ample of parking and very close to rose garden and sector-17 market.

Great location. Very very poor service. Service with an attitude -very government like infact. They have the audacity to tell you that your food will be chargeable when you place an order. Never seen that attitude anywhere else. The checkin is done with attitude of take it or leave it.

Food was awesome and delicious. Must come if you are coming to chd. Non veg lovers will love the taste of mutton and for veg guys can have a brownie which they make with love and fresh. Rest I cannot verify as I have a small appetite. I will leave rest review for other Google reviewers. Thank u

We had a fabulous experience dealing with the Hotel Management Team here at Shivalik led by Paresh. Paresh displayed excellent customer service skills and great attention to detail in organising a beautiful room for me and my family. The whole process of finalising the room and payment was seamless and absolutely professionally handled. Would highly recommend organising a stay at this hotel!! Best wishes, Simi

Shivalik View Hotel is the best most trust worthy hotel in the entire Chandigarh. The food was amazing both veg and non-veg. Master rooms are very spacious and cosy. The staff is very cooperative. Best place to through marriage party or any other functions. The parking area is huge. Best to go

The rooms are fine, good actually. Maintained well too. The hotel's facade was actually beautiful (but we don't come to a hotel for that, right?). The behavior of the staff, well...horrible. Some were polite, and some were unbelievably rude. Calling room service turned out to be a very bad experience and I'll probably not visit the hotel again

The spa experience was absolutely rejuvenating. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed.the staff was welcoming and professional, making my visit enjoyable from start to finish. I love the tranquil atmosphere at this spa. It's a perfect escape from the daily grind. I've been to many spas, but this one stands out with its exceptional service. A visit to this spa is like a mini-vacation for the soul

Good location. Good food. Hotel may have been 4 star in its earlier days. The rooms looked old but clean. Nice location as well.

I was with my team and had dinner in their restaurant. Staff were most polite and humble. Indian food were delicious and comparatively it was cheaper. We had dinner in pleasant atmosphere.

Worst Experience. Lets start from basic things : 1. No jet spray in washrooms ( most basic thing that u need to give to customers when u r charging 4k-5k per day, shame on you. ) 2. Damp rooms 3. Old fashioned rooms 4. ill mannered staffs, they don’t know how to talk politely with customers. 5. The real value of rooms are 1000-1500 max per day. 6.Towels are like 50 years old , used more than 1000 times. Shame on management. Pls change your towels. U need renovation plus new things. You can’t keep 50 years old things and charge modern rate from customers !!!!! Will Never ever visit again. Worst 3star hotel ever seen.

Rooms definately need tobe upgraded. The key card system malfunctioned multiple times. Food was regular and staff laid back. The only positive was the central location of the hotel making it convenient.

  • 1/5 Pankaj Y. 5 months ago on Google
Rooms were fine. Food was good. Breakfast buffet was very bad- no good options. Guards are ill-manerred. They don't know how to talk and no professionalism at all. I simply asked about who will take luggage and he said it's not my job rather than guiding me through.. Other staff who come to room for room service wait a little extra looking at faces to give tip. Why will anyone tip you for poor service ? Mineral water is charged @ around 150+GST. They have acted smart & added "mineral water with service" so that you can't fight with them for MRP rule. Go only if you want just the "room without service"

First a disclaimer. This place is a resort and also has a restaurant. An isolated place, only small vehicles can go there. But once there, one can have a romantic holiday. Also,a place for meditation/writing a book, undisturbed. Great for family bonding. After a tricky drive, parking inside the place is available. The place is pristine, on the banks of Yamuna River, which is having crystal clear, unpolluted water. Overlooking are hills and mountains. In the Resort there is an outdoor swimming pool and a jacuzzi with change rooms and toilets. Inside is a lounge hall and indoor games of table tennis and a billiards table. The Resort has rooms- air-conditioned as well as non ac. As we didn't stay there, I wouldn't like to comment on it. The restaurant has seating Inside as well as as in the open during winters. We had tea as well as lunch which were made of fresh vegetables and were of high quality. Charges were quite moderate. There is construction activity going on for a marriage cum conference hall. A decent place for a quiet holiday on a river bank. Summers can be cool with the swimming pool. Made and managed by a grand, senior lady. Hats off to her.

It's a good hotel at Chandigarh with great service but since the property is old you will get the feel inside the room and especially when you are using their Bathrooms.. Buffet is the best both dinner and Breakfast... Overall a Good stay

The location is great. Walking distance to sector 17. The Pool is good and clean, too. The rooftop Bar in the 6. Floor (open just till 11 pm) is nice, serving alc, too. The Hotel might have had better times, has this 80ties atmosphere, who likes it. Fits to the Le Corbusier-style from outside.

The sofa was lumpy and so was the bed. The TV was a few inches too small, the hot water took some time, the soap and shampoo bottles were frustratingly small, the breakfast was nothing to write home about… I still recommend Shivalikview. If not for the unbeatable location, maybe to experience the fading glory of the best public sector hospitality the region had to offer.

This hotel is in the perfect location that are very close to many popular tourist attractions, that is its only advantage. The rooms are nice size but very outdated, furniture, electronics, every bit. The key access system broke down every day and every evening needing annoying wait for house keeping. The TV didn't work for a single minute despite replacing the TV itself. It's definitely much less than a 3 or 4 star it is advertised as. The hotel may have had its glory days decades ago but in serious need of modernisation. Very disappointed in my selection to say here, I would never come back here unless they totally renovate it. Must mention, Manager Kulvinder was a pro and accepted my feedback meeting request. He patiently listened to the feedback and was humble, apologized for a rude man at the reception desk who was very rude and unprofessional with the Checkout reminder.

Courtesy - like never experienced before. The staff starting from front desk to bell boys to waiters & chef is sooo courteous. They don’t leave a chance to make you feel special. The chef visits the tables to make your experience unique & even provided us with one of the recipes. They surprised us with a cake to make our special day more special. Food was good. Breakfast has enough options. We ordered a variety of dishes in lunch too & were not disappointed. Pool, steam, spa - all facilities are well maintained. I wished I clicked more pictures for reference.

Being on a wheelchair.. I had quite an eventful time..Though I did apparently book the "Special Room" I still couldn't get a hard mattress or an orthopedic mattress. - Let alone having charging ports.. there were no plug points near bed sides - No remote or console to control AC or room lights - Plug points that weren't working.. I had to disconnect their floor lamp to plug in my laptops charger. - Impractical grab bars in the washroom - Faulty faucets Food was very average and hence felt pricey. The staff lacked warmth and should be more customer focused. P.S. - I took 45 mins to check out. One Major Plus Side of my stay was the room size.. it was pretty huge compared to an average 5 star room.

This hotel is huge and belongs to CITCO. Old property and despite being under Chandigarh administration control it is maintained properly. The rooms are super spacious. There were some minor issues related to maintenance in the room which require to be addressed. The food was good, however, very limited options are available for the buffet. The staff is polite and helpful. The rates are good.

Location was awesome situated in the heart of sector 17 very close to sector 17 market Chandigarh. I have done booking through goibibo, hotel hasn't given me the bills inspite of request saying you will get it online. Overall experience was okay. 5star to location 5 star to cleanliness. Staff attitude and politeness need to be work upon and improve.

Terrible hotel and service, premises is very old. All things which they provide from bed to kettle is very old. Mattress was very average, kettle used in rooms had rod open due to which whatever you heat in it taste of rod comes into that. Staff response to everything is that this is what management provides us. We paid 6500 per day for deluxe room, if they cant provide decent service then why are they charging premium prices?

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Shivalik view and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff who made me feel welcomed and valued throughout my entire stay. The hotel's location is ideal, situated in a prime area with convenient access to various attractions and amenities. The rooms were beautifully designed, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. One of the highlights of my stay was the impeccable service provided by the hotel staff. The dining experience exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the presentation was truly impressive. The breakfast buffet was a particular delight, with a vast selection of fresh and mouthwatering choices.

The location of hotel is very good. Property is average and has much better potential than what it is currently utilized as. The maintenance staff, crew and the management needs to pull up their sock. They're currently working like a government establishment rather I'd say now a days even government setups are much more efficient than Shivalikview. The crew at Le Chef where they serve the breakfast is not the most friendliest. They behaved as of they are doing a favor on the guests. An individual Charu Sharma was very possessive about the breakfast facility and behaved as if the whole revenue of the hotel is through complimentary breakfast. The little things matter and they are missing. If you are used to fine dining and luxury stays don't be fooled by the 4-star rating of this hotel. Better head to the well established ones nearby like Marriott, Lalit and Hyatt. We stayed at Shivalikview for a day and are seriously considering checking out now.

Location of this hotel is at the centre of chandigarh also known as heart of chandigarh…17 sector…. And hall can be used for reception and birthdays and 100-150 people gathering can be done…. Food taste is superb and veg plate worth 1500/- is sufficient…

Huge spacious rooms, delicious room service food, cloud9 restaurant wad also good, amazing location, reasonable price, nice gym and spa the ac wasn't the best so they gave us a fan which helped But the hotel needs maintenance more cleaning and the buffet sucks sometimes the service is rude

  • 1/5 Jennifer T. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is old and maintenance is needed to be done. The smell in the lobby, hallway and hotel rooms are horrible mainly due to the long term damage of the water in the wall that caused mould and paint peeling off off the wall. The staff are nice and friendly but that shouldnt be the only thing to be praised. Food option at breakfast buffet was limited but ok for simple breakfast.

Visited this property for a friend's marriage. Not happy with the services as we are supposed to check in at noon and we did at 1:30 PM so not happy the service plus room services were also not good. However, the rooms booked for guests were business rooms which they didn't tell us at the time of booking (mentioned by a friend) so felt bad. The food was good

Was here for the second time. Pre-covid, the hotel was too good and stood upto its reputation of 4 star hotel with excellent rooms, breakfast and dinner options and overall ambience. Post covid, the rooms are as good as before but the food quality has gone down slightly and the taste also isn't as good as my previous visit. The location of the hotel is really good and one must opt for this hotel if you want to have a good and comfortable stay.

Attended an business event on 23 Jan 2023. Washrooms were so bad and stinking. Buffet was average. Foodwas too spicy and oily. With lots of 5 stars hotels emerged in Chandigarh, the services of this hotel.has droppeddown.

Although, there is no point of sharing the feedback as they'll not change at all but here we go. 😡 We attended a family wedding at this so called 5 star hotel. Service was pathetic, they served 🤢 tasteless n poor quality food in Main Course. Servers were roaming around with food n drinks but never came near any guests to serve them. Servers had too much attitude while handling guests, when asked for tea, they simply refused but later on served very bad coffee. I would never recommend this hotel for any function.

Place was good. Rooms were well managed for a hotel of this age, the staff is very well trained and is polite . The portion size of food is very small, it is not even sufficient for one person that was disheartening. The sheets were clean the overall place was clean and had good ambience. Good place to stay at a good price and good for couples and families
