As the name says Garden of silence. It's really silent & peaceful. It's on the other end of Sukhna lake. A big white Lord Buddha meditating statue is here which looks very beautiful. One can sit and enjoy their time here. There are stairs around the statue for sitting as well. Parking is also available for free here. I would love to suggest you to visit here ❣️

Located at the end of the backside of the Sukhna lake. A small and well put together garden where you’ll find a statue of Buddha. I really liked the vision behind this Garden, but it’s not silent at all. Usually, it’s crowded in the evenings and children also use this area as a playground. Plantation is being demanded as it is serving more as a playground rather than a Garden. It needs some care and rejuvenation which is necessary right now. Overall, it’s beautiful and it’s one of a kind.

It's very beautiful and peaceful place as the name suggests it's self. Garden of Silence is part of Sukhna Lake as it located at the end point of Sukhna Lake. It is meditative 🧘‍♀️ space with huge lord Buddha seating statue in the centre of the garden. One can enjoy walking at Lake with site seeing too while visiting the Garden. Very beautifully built but still lot of care to be taken of the garden as not up to standards.

Garden of Silence / Buddha Peace Park Chandigarh The Garden of Silence is a meditative space at the end of Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh, India. It features a seated Buddha. The garden is financed by the Ministry of Tourism and developed by the Chandigarh Administration. The place is an excellent site to visit and experience some beautiful architecture which is managed very properly.Buddha statue is lovely and gardens around are well taken care off. Lake view and walk beautiful. Golf course adjoining is huge great lungs for Chandigarh. We visited this place on insistance of a friend. The place is located near to Sukhna Lake. The place is fascinating though. There is a statue of Gautam Buddha bang in the middle of the park. Good place to unwind only in evening as it is quite hot during day times. also good place for pre wedding shoot. There is a big Buddha idol at the centre. The garden is based on the Lord Gautama Buddha. The garden has a beautiful statue of Budhha doing meditation. As the garden name stand :this place is silent. If you want to feel the silence you must visit this place. Thanks to Ashishji who took us to this place and @kaushalvpatel too for accompanying and having a great fun time. #chandigarh #sukhanalake #gardenofsilence #travel #solotrip #gardenofmeditation #punjab #travelvibes #travelphotography #travel blogger #chandigarhvibes #india #indiatravelgram #explore #explorepage

The Garden of Silence is at the regulatory end or back end of Sukhna lake. The garden features a seated Lord Buddha along a meditative space out there. The serenity of the place overwhelmed one's mind and body. The site is far from crowds as seen from the front side of the lake and delivers a splendid sight of the lake, especially at the night time.

This is a garden at the back end of the Sukhna Lake. It is a terrace garden with a statue of the Buddha in the centre. Nice place to sit and admire nature, though I'm not sure about the idea of installing a religious statue in the middle of a public place.

The best time to visit is Early Morning or Late Evening. Lighting was good after dark but not that great. It is situated near Sukhna Lake. Both are connected via stairs. Great place to spend 15-20 min in peace.

This place is in true sense "The Garden of (blissful) silence." Have an evening walk around sukhna, end it with 10 min silent introspection at this garden and you'll feel the serenity. Loved the experience I had here.

Hosting a seated statuette of Lord Buddha amidst concentric circular stairs, Garden of Silence in Chandigarh stands for what the city is defined for. The visual calmness arising from the ambience of Garden of Silence, Chandigarh differentiates it from its contemporaries in many ways. Chandigarh is known as the city of gardens that are lush green and have some amazing features but this garden of silence is a bit different. The Garden of Silence, Chandigarh serves as the meditative space for city residents. Funded by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the project was dearly executed by Chandigarh Administration to perfection which you see only when you visit the place. While many of you might not be knowing the exact location of this marvellous place in Chandigarh, so thought about shedding some light. Garden of Silence, Chandigarh is situated at the backside of the famous Sukhna lake where the 1800 m long jogging track and walkway ends. If you do not prefer walking or jogging till the end, then another way to reach Chandigarh’s Garden of Silence is by driving on the road at the back of Sukhna through Kishangarh. This is the same road that goes to the golf course. Here’s the list of things at this Chandigarh based Garden of Silence that gives you visual evidence of what true beauty looks like: Statue of Lord Buddha in the middle. Meditative space for people. Aesthetically built up archaic area. Concentric Stairways made of flagstones. Surrounded by Bougainvillea flowers. Play area for kids – green grass. Marks the end of the Sukhna Lake. Termination point of Jogging track at the lake. Stone pitched floor area for good aesthetics. A place crafted to calm mind, body and soul. Serving as the hot spot for those pre-workout warm-up sessions to the after workout cool down sessions for those fitness freaks who mob the lake daily, Garden of Silence in Chandigarh is the most sought after place by all the people belonging to different age groups. - Thanks for Content, Chandigarh Metro - Oberoi Aneesha.

A nice calm place but at one end of the city. This is a nice garden with realy nice views of lake at the top. There is lake walk way that's open till 10 in the night. Really nice place for a walk but it becomes really lonely after dark. If you don't have your own vehicle, don't travel to this park after dark as you may have to wait too long for the cab or auto.

Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills (Shivalik hills) of the Himalayas. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills. Originally, the seasonal flow entered the lake directly causing heavy siltation. To check the inflow of silt, 25.42 km² of land was acquired in the catchment area and put under vegetation. In 1974, the Choe was diverted and made to bypass the lake completely, the lake being fed by three siltation pots, minimising the entry of silt into the lake itself. The lake was created by Le Corbusier and the Chief Engineer P L Verma. To preserve its tranquility, Corbusier insisted on two things: that it be forbidden for motor boats to circulate in the water, and for vehicular traffic to be prohibited on top of the dam (promenade). The lake is fringed by a golf course to the south, and Nek Chand's famous Rock Garden of Chandigarh to its west. The lake is facing serious issues like weed overgrowth, catchment adequacy and silting that are significantly shrinking its size and depth. A project team, under Parasu Ram Mishra, was deployed to address the issue and take remedial measures, which halted the sedimentation, for a while. Additionally, it has become the subject of litigation between Chandigarh and Punjab. Silting has taken its toll and the volume of the lake has been reduced to 56% of its original. The lake is shrinking rapidly due to siltation and lack of inflow. It was initially hoped that the work of desilting could be undertaken in summers at a war footing and dry dredging could be undertaken at a fraction of cost to save Sukhna in the coming years. Unfortunately, the ground realities seem to be different. Due to heavy rain in August and September Sukhna was filled up again and flood gates were being opened.

Initially the garden of silence was a beautiful place to relax and spend some time with yourself. However with time now you can See a lot of kids playing cricket without bothering about anything. Now the garden of silence is no longer a silence garden however it is filled with lot of chaos and crowd. It is well maintained by the government but it is spoiled by the crowd and the kids who play cricket every day at this place, also there are a lot of unwanted people and The garden of silence which makes it a uneasy for the normal public to visit. The crowd is disrupting the beauty abd ambiance of this place.
