Rock garden simply rocks. The sight of lovely terracotta figurines is ethereal . Moving through narrow gullies and cave like structures with narrow openings for passage and breathtaking waterfall made the whole experience resemble a jungle expedition. Awesome, exiting, adventurous.

A must visit place if you are in Chandigarh. Very well maintained and beautiful place. Kids would love this place, you can organise group visits, a day picnic. They have small cafe like shop for your munching needs and lot of open space to sit and enjoy the time in the doll museum area. Ticket cost is almost nothing, so do visit and enjoy your time.

This place is getting bigger and better day by day. Different phases of work is going on simultaneously which will boost the number of visitors in coming years. Minimum 3hours is required to explore this place fully. They have opened doll museum, mini aquarium inside the garden for children attraction. Also cafeteria place is available so you can have a cup of coffee there as well.

Vey amazing place. Not good for children who can't walk. Have to walk a lot. Small roads have been built in which you study in the park by hiding, because husband and wife have become streets. It would be great to visit here in the summer season. You can tell that I walk a lot. Adventure has everything for kids. There are swings and doll museums for children. Food is there but very expensive on . There is an ice cream of ₹ 50 and there is nothing below 50 to eat, so best if your editor wants food from home. Take the frock. Talking about the entry ticket, then the children who are 3 to 10 years old, their ticket is ₹ 10 and those who are above 10 years of age uni entry ticket is 30 RS / -. Talking about transport, here you will not have any problem with transport. Now even autos run. Anyway, the main bus stand of Sector 17 changes you every 15 minutes from there in 15 minutes. To stop and make it cheaper after eating, then you would have got a check food of ₹ 10 from the Red Cross at the gate about rubbing here. Children who have bread and are stable and have vegetables, then now they can purchase the it's is best for Middle class family.

The Rock garden is historic place of Chandigarh. Everybody has first visited this place on his/her school trip. Everything here is made up of waste material. Children and family friendly place. There is one Cafeteria inside premises with very limited options and not so fresh too.

Best day outing place for kids and family people who love architectural designing and conceptual landscaping. Everting is made by recycled glasses, It is a good day visit to experience and enjoy the details of all those rock figures and sculpture. Carry water with you because the canteen is only accessible after 2 hours or at the start. A good scenic place for all the photography lovers.

My first time visit and the experience was great. It was exhausting because of the heat but it is worth visiting. It's spectacular to see whole thing just made with rocks , it's amazing. Ticket price is also good. The park is so peaceful and calm you can spend some quality time alone or with friends. A must visit place in Chandigarh.

This place is really superb. One of the main attractions of Chandigarh. Near to sector 17 main market also and Sukhna lake. There are so many amazing art work to see inside it. It will take you almost 1 hour to see all things inside. Do visit in day light. I visited in evening. By the time we entered, it was dark and then it was a different experience altogether. It was more of a rescue mission rather than enjoying the real meaning of the park. Happy visit.

Nestled in the middle of a busy city the rock garden was a peaceful place to visit. It’s has ample parking space and entry fee of INR 30 for adults and 10/- for kids. It’s a typical tourist spot but not well maintained for tourists at all. Maintenance of the overall place is pretty poor and the sculptures are also not well taken care of. It is def a good piece of art with a lot of detailing and would have been a beautiful place to visit with better upkeep. The facilities are not clean either. It is a walk through narrow pathways into a maze like structure that opens up into huge open spaces. The detailing on the sculptures, the moulding of the trees and roots into designs and utilization of different kinds of rocks to form beautiful looking rock art is worth going to see… but don’t have very higher expectations from this place. :(

Timings Summer 1st April - 30 September 9 am to 7 pm Winter 1st October- 31st March 9 am to 6 pm Entry fees Adults ₹30 ( per person) Children ₹10 ( per head) ( Giving change is helpful) The place is wonderfully designed. There are many things to explore inside, like The Doll museum, laughing mirrors, a small aquarium, and big swings. The rock structures are beautifully craved and are a delight to watch. There are many places to take good pictures. Be very careful of your head as the gates are very low. You need atleast 2 hours to explore the place completely. Great place to bring your family and children for a fun day. The parking is chargeable.

This was a unique experience. We went on a Sunday afternoon during the Christmas period so there was a heavy rush inside the park. There is provision for buying tickets online too, as you have to stand in line for almost 10-15 mins to buy the ticket. It was around ₹30/- person. When you enter you will see use of recycled materials for the park. There is only one way to enter and one way to exit and there is a set path which people have to follow to see everything inside the park. Creativity is mind boggling and unique. I was impressed. The part that didn't impress me was the pathway inside the park. The gates inside the park are always congested, few pathways are narrow. If you want to transition from one section of the park to the other, there's only a small single gate through which everyone has to pass and hence a lot of pushing happens to go through these gates. But then if you are in Chandigarh, you have got to see the Rock garden. You have to witness this park with your own eyes. So try planning your trip on a non-busy day and you will surely love it.

Really nice and well maintained garden. Good acess and connectivity from acess City. Calm and peaceful. The entry fees is only rs.30 per adult, totally worth it . There are food stalls inside the garden in certain areas. There are different waterfalls . The best attraction for me was the doll house. The portrayed the Punjabi culture in a perfect way with different aspects. Contemporary art campus . Stands representative of Chandigarh City theme. For art connoisseurs architects, the place something of an inspiration.

It is a must visit place. Ticket price is 30 but it is justified. Rock garden is made out of recycled waste. Biggest attraction is waterfalls, caves and the doll museum inside it. Swings are also there for adults and kids and that too free of cost. Sukhna Lake is nearby therefore both can be visited by tourists on the same day. 2-3 hours is sufficient to see the rock garden.

Pretty unique and haven't seen something like this elsewhere. It's pretty huge so there's quite a bit of walking to do it you go in. Lots of waterfalls and status could be seen here. There's even a doll museum inside which is pretty cool. Overall it's quite fun for all age groups. Do visit when the weather is quite pleasant and you can easily spend 2-3 hours inside. There's no restaurant inside so do go in post having something to eat.

The place Chandigarh is known for is the Rock Garden. The trick to visit the garden is in the opening hours in the morning at 9 am.Rs.30/- for entry ticket. The garden is mainly for clicking photos, so if you go early, there are less number of visitors and you can take your photos anywhere inside the garden without any disturbance. This a huge garden and as mentioned you may spend times clicking photos so it is added to your visit time. For this you can keep 2 hours to fully enjoy each and every corner of the garden and clicking as many photographs as you like. The garden has 2 small waterfalls, a doll museum, laughing mirror, aquarium, rest room, eatery and souvenir shop. It's really amazing. The garden is made out of refuse and in a very artistic manner. Excellent workmanship. Mixed with aquarium, waterfalls, rag dolls it's an an excellent place in Chandigarh. You need at least 2-3 hours to visit the garden. The rock garden is a lovely location. I was amazed to witness the scene of the rock garden as I was walking through it. There were several statues built of waste items such as bangles, tiles, and so on. That was a really important time for me. When you go once, you don't want to return. Simply put, it is a gorgeous and creative location. Always carry and umbrella and water bottles if you are visiting it in the summers. Trust me you'll need them.

This garden is one of a kind as most of the stuff is made of rocks here. You will find a lot of statues carved out of rocks, mini waterfalls, doll museum, aquarium, swings and what not in this park. I had never seen so many swings together at any other place. Doll Museum was also one of its kind. You will need a minimum of 2 hours to cover the place. It’s a must visit if you are in Chandigarh. The entry fee is minimal but you can find a long crowd for the ticket.

I love this place and the idea of creating something with raw things and wastage। So much effort and time taken architecture। Neat and Clean, the Roaming area is very much। Enjoyed Jhula and many more ।।। Statue 🗿 are best thing to see in garden। Everyone should visit once to watch how they were created with lots of love and many small wasted things। Love the creativity of artists 😍😍😍😍😍 Ticket 🎫 price is - ₹30 You need half or a full one hour to visit the full garden area। They have a food court inside the garden and there are bathroom also inside the garden। You can visit it in one go or take some rest inside the garden It's crowded but the scenery and craftsmanship are amazing। Some places are closed due to maintenance issues ।।।

You need at least 2 hours to see whole of it properly. There are two beautiful artificially made waterfalls, a doll museum, a small cafeteria, laughing mirrors, aquarium, too many huge swings and a lot of sculptures made with waste. There are too many points for everyone who loves to get clicked. Just choose for a pleasant weather day. You can take your food, drinks and camera inside. Enough parking space is available.

This place is for art lovers who have Abstract perceptions. The place is filled of stone statues , statues made of recycled items , plenty of lanes and beautiful human made waterfall inside . Please if you travelling alone and above 30+ avoid this place , this place is best to visit with family and kids. You would get bored after strolling for around 15 mins. This place is huge inside and there is children park inside with swings . Great place for strolling and relaxing 😎 ❤️🫶🏻

One of the frequently visited tourist attractions in chandigarh. When visiting, do take time and explore the place and the art. The place has withered with time but somehow it also adds to its charm. Some maintenance will do good. (Also tourists should keep basic cleanliness habits in mind and not litter!)

If you have something good to show, then do it within the first 5 minutes. This should be the matra of every tourist attraction but the Rock garden fails to do so! You have to walk endlessly to finally reach the doll museum which is the main attraction, rest everything else here can be skipped and you can save time. While there’s good amount of greenery and the place is tidy, I still think the place needs a lot of improvements. For starters, please start providing tourists with a Map of the place. Charge them if need be but do not compromise on the experience. People as usual were not wearing masks and violating all the covid norms. Once you enter, the only way for you to exit is to completely the entire garden and then come back from the other end. Highly infuriating when you only see the same things on your way. Also, people with back ache or old age people should most definitely avoid this place since the passageway is absolutely short and you need to bend every time to pass through it.

As you have probably read many reviews of this place already or know about it. I have been to this place a number of times first in 1994-95, followed by 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2021. I would like to emphasize the changes from the first visit. Each time I visit it still excites me. One of the most incredible executions. You will see and feel out of the box implementation (not all of it but a major portion of the rock garden). Maintenance has degraded considerably since my last visit. There are so many attractions that are damaged or have limited functionality. There is no food and water available. Only one functional canteen (with limited food options and very rude staff). Every location has photogenic views and is made with love.

Visited the Rock Garden in Chandigarh and was truly amazed by the creativity and artistry on display. The use of recycled materials to create sculptures and mosaics is impressive. It's a serene escape in the heart of the city, perfect for a leisurely stroll. A must-visit for art and nature lovers! I visited this garden during the afternoon time, And it was less crowded then. But During the Evening time it was crowded. So try to see if the weather is not sunny and go during the afternoon time. Worth a visit. Ticket price for an adult is ₹30/-

Rock Garden, Chandigarh has always garnered the attention of people who visit the city. It boasts of more than just an interesting history; it is also well known for the beauty of the sculptures, huts, and waterfalls it is adorned with. This garden in Chandigarh is now a 40-acre property attracting 5000 plus visitors from in and outside the city on a daily basis. The site is divided into three phases, with entry and exit located parallelly to each other. Let’s discover more about these three phases in the upcoming section.

The place is amazing to spend time with family and kids. Prefer visit in morning or evening hours for better weather. There are artificial waterfalls and amphitheatres where you can spend time. The rock walls provide protection from sun in most places. Important 1. Not suitable for people with back problems as doors are short and needs lot of back bending. 2. It's not wheel chair accessible and not suitable to carry pram. 3. It's a good amount of walking 4. Tickets are ₹ 30 per adult and ₹10 for children 3-10.

The Rock Garden is a staple and iconic spot of Chandigarh spread over an area of 40 acres. The garden is located at Uttar marg in Sec.1 and close to another famous stop Sukhna lake. Garden was built in the year 1957 by its founder Mr. Nekchand (the great sculpturist) and officially open for public in 1976. Tha garden is having around 5000 statues within its bounds and uniquely sculptured on the pattern of 'Wonder from waste' using industrial and home discarded items like bottles, ceramic pots, bangles, broken pipes etc. Rock Garden is designed on the fantasy of a lost kingdom. It has a couple of artificial waterfalls, both the waterfalls are the most photographic spots in the garden. There are distorted mirrors and aquarium section on the side of the courtyard. It is open for public from 9am to 7pm. Entry fee Rs.30 for adult and Rs.10 for children. Excellent experience !!!

The garden area is large and needs 1-1.5 hours to visit. All the artifacts are made with waste products and arranged in a good manner. Crowded on weekends and public holidays. Good place for kids to play. Good place to visit once or twice. Just an improvement can be done to place direction and sign boards for which way to go, there is confusion inside if you are going first time. No maps no sign boards inside. It was difficult to find an exit route

I mean, nothing special Place is confusing like a crumbled map. Though I do like the theme, but there's nothing extraordinary. Only great if you are visiting chandigarh first time. One time visit sums up all of it. Nice place for an outing if you are in Chandigarh, it will take couple of hours to complete the tour that goes through a dedicated path. It has small water bodies on the way, like small waterfalls, ponds etc and the main attraction like rock based sculptures. Entry ticket is 30 rupees for adults and 10 rupees for kids between age one to ten. Autos and cabs are easily available at the entrance gate, if you are a tourist in Chandigarh you. can probably plan and got to sector 17 market next from here as it quite near from this place.

This is definitely a place to visit when in Chandigarh. An amazing place that is very unique and difficult to describe being a man-made location but feeling completely natural, resembling sometimes an archaeological site, a natural park or an open-air art exhibition, all built with Himalayan rocks and objects from a dump. Many will say that it resembles Park Guell by Gaudi in Barcelona, but it is indeed quite different and unique, with only few (less colorful) mosaics that may remind the visitors of something already seen in Barcelona. Definitely worth a visit. Take your time strolling around.

The entry ticket is quite cheap for Indians. 30 rupees only. The place is quite huge and you can easily spend 3-4 hours if u look closely at everything that is there. There is a huge waterfall, a lot of structure made of wastes-tiles, broken bangles, stones, pebbles etc. There are three museums: doll museum, various mirrors (concave convex combinations) and a display of various kinds of fishes. There is one souvenir shop as well and some of the items there are quite cheap so it's a good spot to pick something tht will remind you of the place..like a fridge magnet or a small diary. It's clean and peaceful. You can go with family or friends or even alone and sit for a while there.

The Rock Garden has become almost a heritage site. Artists and connoisseurs from all over the world flock to see this unique and amazing creation. The Concept is daring, the appeal perennial. Visitors leave in admiration, only to return again. The creator of the rock garden, Nek Chand was a Road Inspector in the Engineering Department of the Chandigarh Capital Project. He roamed the Shivalik foothills and picked up stones resembling bird, animal, human and abstract forms. He brought them on his bicycle. The first seven years (1958-65) were spent collecting natural material, urban and industrial waste. Gradually his collection mounted to a staggering twenty thousand rock form of amazing beauty. These were deposited around a hut which he had built for his work and contemplation. He built the Rock Garden from this improvised hut which was located by the side of a stream. On 24th February, 1973, the Rock Garden was accidentally discovered by Dr.S.K.Sharma who headed an Anti-malaria party a vector reconnaissance duty in the forest in the forest in which the garden is located. Soon thereafter late Dr. M.S Randhawa (the first Chief Commissioner of Chandigarh) visited the place and place the matter before the Chandigarh Landscape Advisory Committee, as its chairman, at a meeting held on 23rd June, 1973 suggesting that this garden of rocks, stone and scrap was the most unusual and it should be preserved in its Present form, free form the interference of architects and town planners. The Rock Garden was thus inaugurated in 1976.

Two stars only for Mr Nek Chand's hard and meticulous works. Otherwise it is being mismanaged and misadministered. Will not suggest to visit on a holiday. If claustrophobic, don't go.

Full of creativity...the guy who created this place had a fantastic imagination...unique items have been used to create dolls such as pieces of bangles, mirrors. Although the place is so large that once you're inside it you get stunned by all the marvelous art, after some time you just want to get outside and it seems like this place never ends. It was an incredibly amazing visit over there in 30 rs ticket and the waterfall was best part to me

Ok ok park where you can see different varieties of statues made of waste material. It has small waterfall inside the park where you can take good pictures. I guess that is the main attraction of this park. You can see some statues made of waste bangles and old sockets and switches. It has small area of Doll museum. You need to find out way for exit otherwise you may lost.

Brilliant! What a great place to spend some time in beautiful city of Chandigarh. There is some good history behind it and great vision and architecture. The garden is really well maintained, clean, really big to walk but have lots of caves, waterfalls, bridges and really small doors. It also have funny mirror, traditional doll exhibition, aquarium as well huge place to eat and relax. It has some similar feels of monkey forest of Bali, Indonesia. Definitely one of the top place to visit in Chandigarh and I'll recommend to visit during winters or rainy season.

Very nice experience. Everyone must visit this place and explore the place. This place is full of fun and excitedness. The art of rocks is very interesting. There are swings also. Inside there is place to eat. But one should carry one's own food or beverages as the food is not much good inside. You will get very nice spots for clicking pictures inside the rock garden.

I recently visited the Rock Garden, and I must say, it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. Tucked away from the bustling city, this hidden gem offers a tranquil oasis of nature that will leave you awestruck. As soon as I entered the garden, I was captivated by the serene atmosphere and the meticulously designed landscape. The combination of rocks, water features, and lush greenery created a harmonious blend that truly mimicked the beauty of nature. Every corner of the garden seemed like a masterpiece, carefully crafted to evoke a sense of peace and tranquility. The rock formations in the garden were simply stunning. It was evident that great care had been taken in arranging them to create a natural and visually appealing display. I found myself wandering along the pathways, marveling at the intricate details and the skillful arrangement of rocks. The garden seemed like a work of art that seamlessly integrated with its surroundings. One of the highlights of my visit was the variety of plants and flowers that adorned the garden. From vibrant blooming flowers to delicate ferns, the botanical diversity was a sight to behold. Each plant seemed to have been thoughtfully placed to complement the rocks and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal. What truly impressed me was the sense of tranquility that enveloped the entire garden. As I strolled through the pathways, I could feel my stress and worries melting away. The soothing sound of trickling water and the gentle rustling of leaves created a serene ambiance that provided a much-needed respite from the outside world. It was a perfect place for contemplation, meditation, or simply escaping the chaos of everyday life. The Rock Garden is also well-maintained, which further adds to its charm. The cleanliness and attention to detail are commendable, as it ensures that visitors can fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the surroundings without any distractions. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photography lover, or someone seeking a peaceful retreat, the Rock Garden is an absolute must-visit. It offers an enchanting experience that will leave you refreshed, inspired, and connected to the beauty of nature. I highly recommend taking the time to explore this hidden gem and embrace the serenity it has to offer. In summary, the Rock Garden is a paradise for nature lovers, boasting impeccable rock formations, a diverse range of plants, and a serene ambiance that transports you to another world. This tranquil oasis is a testament to the beauty and harmony found in nature and is deserving of the highest praise.

This is one great experience - the best place to visit in Chandigarh!! It's one great outdoor multi - variety garden, picnic, waterfall experience. You feel fooled when you walk in via a narrow entrance that can hardly even fit your head! But go through that and you are welcomed by waterfalls. Go further and there's a bigger waterfall. You also come across a puppet village, a mini aquarium, swings for kids and adults to play alike, magic mirrors, and if you are unlucky, even paid a visit by monkeys! Washrooms are clean, and there are good options for snacks and ice creams. You can even buy good memorabilia. A lot of effort has gone into the upkeep of this place. And a lot of talent invested in the stone decorations and carvings. You should easily plan for half a day's trip if you are going to this place. You can drive yourself and there are people you guide you to parking. Entry fees are very reasonable. Please DO NOT MISS this on your visit to Chandigarh!!

This place is a symbol of Chandigarh’s existence in whole world. I have visited this place with family and friends multiple times from my childhood to my adulthood. This place was amazing few years back but now i visited and was shattered. Place is degrading day by day to be honest. A lot of green algae can be seen now bit risky if it’s rainy season. Sculptures are also damaged now somewhat. No cleanliness is maintained. But still if you haven’t seen it you should definitely go a must visit place when in Chandigarh. Entry ticket is 30rs for indians and timings are till 6pm.

The rock garden in Chandigarh is a remarkable and one of a kind attraction that has a mixture of art, nature and culture. It was designed and created by Sh. Nek Chand ji, this sprawling garden is a testament to human in genuity and an ode to recycling and sustainability. Sh Nek Chand ji transformed urban waste, discarded materials and debris into an enchanting landscape of sculptures. The garden is home to thousands of sculptures and art pieces, all made of waste materials such as broken tiles, ceramic pots etc. It has a nominal entry fee of 30 rs for adults and 10 rs for kids. The garden has two man made water falls and they are really beautiful. There is a fish aquarium with different species of fishes. There were swings for kids and adults to have good fun. There is another new attraction added as doll museum. It all came as a surprise and kids loved it. The Garden is well maintained, and offers basic amenities like drinking water, wash room and refreshment stalls etc. You should have minimum 4-5 hrs in hand to fully enjoy the garden. Rock garden is a must visit place and I would love to revisit again.

So this is a decent place to spend family time. So many sculptures to explore and art to experience. Yes not a place to go in summer afternoons. There's a very huge area with free swings for everyone, be it kids or adulta and that's really amazing. Few Waterfalls in the premises, some bridges to cross and many gates to pass. Nice place to enjoy family time.

Rock Garden in Chandigarh is a truly unique and magical place. It's like a wonderland made entirely from waste materials. The garden is full of sculptures, pathways, and art installations that will make you feel like you've stepped into a different world. All the sculptures are made from discarded items like broken bangles, tiles, and glass bottles. The artist, Nek Chand, created this garden secretly over many years, and when it was discovered, it became a famous attraction. As you walk through the garden, you'll see colorful mosaic pathways, quirky figures, and even a small waterfall. It's a great place for kids and adults alike because there's so much to explore and discover. The best part is that the Rock Garden is not just about art; it's also about recycling and taking care of the environment. It shows us that we can turn trash into something beautiful. Visiting the Rock Garden is like stepping into a world of creativity and imagination. It's a perfect place to take a leisurely stroll, click some photos, and appreciate how art and nature can come together in a special way. If you ever visit Chandigarh, don't miss the chance to experience this one-of-a-kind garden.

Rock garden best place in chandigarhSituated close to the high court, this garden is one of the main attractions. Rocks are sculpted into different designs. Amazed at the amount of work gone into it.A must visit to this place when you are in Chandigarh. This place is amazing with lots of rock dolls, water falls all build with waste or built with damaged materials. Its a feast of one full day or minimum 4 to 5 hours to enjoy and relish. The garden is organized as a maze and is very unique. It has enormous numbers of figures made of stones. Although many visitors come to this garden, the maze arrangement avoids crowded situations. This garden is a must visi when you visit Chandigarh

Entry ticket Rs.30 per person for 10+ above age group. You need at least 2-3 hours to cover each and every corner of this huge and wonderful Rock garden. Inside the premises there is a food area where a lot of Jhoola (swings) are a craze among all age groups with fish aquariums to watch. Water fountains and many more

It's a very good neat and clean place, On the walls there is a board that says no writing on the walls. But who can stop school kids from doing that. But it is very beautiful and there is so much to see in one place. I've enjoyed it a lot. I recommend it to people to visit early because after 10 lots of rush comes at the same time it will be hard for you to get in. I recommend visit the rock garden first then you can go to the sukuna lake and rose garden and atlante mall.
