Sector 17 Shopping plaza is the oldest and the most happening place. It is also called City Centre because of its Central Location, covering an area of about 100 hectares. It's also called Chandigarh's Heart. This is replete with almost all big brands, stores, international outlets food chain and eateries. There are also located number of offices and training centres. It's a perfect entertainment hub, a tree-lined pedestrian plaza. There is ample space for paid parking. There is a central fountain and also a complete map of Chandigarh showing major landmarks is made on the floor in front of Neelam Theatre. There are small enclosures with comfortable chairs specially reserved for seniors citizens. Visit to City beautiful is considered incomplete without visiting sector 17 shopping plaza.

It's a famous place and market in Tri city where you can sit, walk way, shopping and enjoy music with fountain show & it's not mall. Sector 17 is iconic for its modern day constituents in terms of stores, restaurants and people. Due to its central location in Chandigarh it's most expensive rental places.One of my favorite places here are Sindhi Sweets (one of the oldest sweet shop here), and Hot Millions. I guess, this is primary market of Chandigarh. Almost all the important outlets of clothing and other items are situated in this market. It's quite a treat to walk through in this market, and indulge in window shopping, especially in the evening. The sound and light with fountain show is quite a treat to watch, played with Bollywood numbers in the background, you can spend some time enjoying this show. The parking is well managed and charges are Rs. 14/- per entry. The market area is clean and well maintained. Overall, a good place to spend some extra time if you are in vicinity.
