A fun place for brunch. It looks like you're in a restaurant in New Orleans. The menu isn't the most inventive but it has all the favorites. If you're planning an outing with friends, it's a great choice in Chapel Hill.

Excellent Mimosa's! Breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant had a very nice ambiance. I really enjoyed this place. The reason it lost a star was because of the price. $17 for eggs benedict and $15.99 for two eggs with bacon and home fries is too pricey for me.

We have never been to La Residence so we decided to go for my birthday! It was very cozy and our waitress was wonderful. My wife had the Shrimp & Grits without bacon for $23. I had the Hanger Steak dinner for $29. It had no potato choice which was disappointing. The side was an Arugula salad with cheese on top. The dressing was already added and was a citrusy vinaigrette. However the dressing got on my steak and it was not enjoyable. I did not eat the arugula. Luckily my wife had an ample portion of Shrimp & Grits to share with me. The steak was cooked perfectly and I did enjoy that. I ordered the Chocolate Tort for dessert and they put a candle it for me! The tort was excellent! We’ll come back when they change the menu again.

My experience at La Residence was a mostly conflicting one -- the beautiful New Orleans-styled walled-in garden patio, charming decor, and exceptional service make for an ideal brunch atmosphere. What brought the experience down was the quality of the meal itself. We had the croque madame, beignets, and the decidedly less French huevos rancheros -- which easily outshined the largely disappointing French options. The croque madame featured a strange grayish roast pork rather than ham. The béchamel was bland and really only served to make the bread soggy and white. The eggs crowning the sandwich were perfectly cooked and pleasant, however. The rest of the food, while inoffensive, wasn't particularly inspiring. On the other hand our waitress, Cameron, was absolutely excellent -- she was attentive, fun, and knowledgeable about the menu. All of that said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend La Residence against the myriad excellent brunch options in the triangle, but isn't at the bottom of my list, either.

Dianne saved my life today. I was choking on my eggs Benedict and she performed the Heimlich maneuver and expertly cleared my airway and let me once again breathe the breath of life. I owe her my life, and anyone who has her should tip her at least 30%, as she is a hero. Thank you Dianne

Adorable place, Orecchiette with homemade sausage (perfectly cooked al dente and perfectly seasoned, btw), astute waiter Karim was great. Had to wait until Thursday for them to open, you know Covid? Can't wait to see tomorrow's menu!

Brunch for five was less than the promised French-influenced experience advertised. My eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was good, but the chicken on the chicken in waffles was super-salty and the syrup came pre-packaged; not even a nod to real maple syrup. The beignets were more like croissants than beignets. Entrees we’re generally less than $15, but an espresso was $7 !! The avocado toast and egg bowl were okay. Service was good. So, the three stars is as much for the disappointment vs what is advertised than anything else.

Food wasn't great. Bacon was way overcooked. I live crispy but this was hard. Eggs didn't have much flavor at all. Just bland. The grits however were excellent. Just didn't match the price. Looked awesome but didn't taste great.

Great place for brunch in Chapel Hill! My friends and I’s go to for game days! There is lots of seating both inside and outside. The atmosphere is great and the place is super super pretty and photogenic!! Mimosas are the way to go!

We ate here on Valentine's Day and it was mediocre at best. Parsnip soup was overly sweet, the filet mignons were covered in a Salvation-Army quality sauce, and right near the end of dinner we saw a giant roach strolling across the wall towards my date. She did look fantastic. The manager did not offer to comp even a single drink, and his explanation was that it's an old building. It was hard to tell what this meant exactly, but it definitely seemed as if roaches had gained acceptance at this restaurant. They should at least give them their own dining room. Love won the day anyway and it's a nice looking space, but we wouldn't go back.

You favorites taken to the NEXT LEVEL. It's what you know and love, but better. The next time I visit Chapel Hill, I want to have every meal here so I can try every dish on the menu. The prices are reasonable. The restaurant and bar have a great atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly. The service fantastic.

Service was slow and food was only so-so. But the G.O.A.T. Bloody Mary was worth it.

All and all, a delicious brunch! We ordered the American Breakfast and Huevos Rancheros. The latter was scrumptious. Great balance of acid, heat, and salt. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Now, I will say the beignets were lackluster. They reminded me of dinner rolls dusted with powdered sugar, so I'll pass on those for next time. Oh and the service was exceptional -- polite and fast!

The best brunch in all of North Carolina, the Piedmont region for sure. The service is amazing, just make sure you make reservations ahead of time. Honestly, I don't have anything negative to say, had the American Breakfast and it comes with more than enough food. Bacon is cooked perfectly, home fried potatoes so well cooked, and eggs were just wonderful.

Salmon entree was top shelf. Service and ambience followed suit. Would definitely return for a future date.

Wow! Tonight’s meal was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Hostess was adorable, and our waiter was the best. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday, and he made it memorable. This was our first time; we will be back!
