Our family enjoyed the daytime walking ghost tour with Pirate Sabrina. We had four adults and two children in our group. It wasn't too corny or too scary- more local legends and stories. We got to see so much more by walking than we would have on a bus or trolley tour. It was a little long for our 6-year-old, but she lured him right back in at the end with a little treasure and he left happy. 🏴‍☠️ Our 8-year-old learned an interesting new catch phrase for being too tired for school. 🤣 Thanks Sabrina! 😉 Next time we're in town, we'd love to try one of their other tours.

Did the Treasure Hunt tour with a 2 year old and a 3.5 year old. The tour was great. Learned a lot of information about pirates, but the learning is hidden a little among the excitement or following a treasure map, learning to sword fight, making their own pirate flag, and the ever longing thought of what the treasure could be. My kids have been talking about it for days! No parrot due to cold weather, but that’s understandable as animal/pet health should come first!

Our 7 year old daughter LOVED this pirate treasure hunt! Captain Sabrina was so enthusiastic, friendly, and funny! She went over some history but made it fun for kids! We got a kick out of her hilarious talkative parrot too! Highly recommend this fun adventure for kids! A+++

We booked a night pirate/ghost/Gullah tour with Eric. It wound up being a private tour for my husband & me, thanks to it being a weeknight and school back in session. It was outstanding! So glad we chose this company! Eric was extremely knowledgeable coupled with a great presentation style. We could have walked Charleston all night just listening to and interacting with him. I'm a retired teacher and he was so very patient answering all of my questions! This tour should be on anyone's "must do" list when visiting Charleston. Well done, Eric, and thank you so very much. We'll be back for more and can't wait to read your book when it gets published!

This is SUCH a fun tour to do while in Charleston! I did the Ghost and Pirate history tour with Eric and had a great time - he's so knowledgeable about the topic and area that it's fun to just ask him questions as you go between the tour stops. He's also a wonderful storyteller so it's engaging the whole time. It is a walking tour, so make sure you're in comfortable shoes! I think the price is really reasonable considering the length of the tour (1 1/2 hrs) and the amount of time and research put into gathering the info for the tour itself. I've done this tour twice now and gotten a different experience with new stories both times 😁 good for adults and kids, and they do a good job adjusting the information for appropriateness depending on the age of those in the tour group. I would def recommend doing one of their tours if you're spending some time in Charleston! I may be coming back next summer with friends and am interested in doing one of the daytime tours 👍

I’d give it more stars if I could! My kids loved this. Sabrina is engaging, fun ‘classroom’ management, and is loved by kids and adults alike. I brought my 9, 10, and14 year old. The older one thought it was fun, but it’s more for 12and under. Sabrina has a great, cheeky sense of humor, knows her pirate history, keeps things simple enough for the younger kids but is able to answer more complex pirate questions. Super glad we chose this. It all takes place in the park, and it’s really just something to engage the kids. They will love it!

Brought a party of 10 including 8 people new to Charleston Pirate Tours. We all had a great time and learned new things about Pirate history and Charleston history as well as some movie/TV trivia. I highly recommend this and most especially the evening Pirate/Ghost tour.

"I liked the pirate tour." A review from a kiddo who attended the Children's Treasure Hunt Tour. Our guide prided herself on her historical research and shared interesting lore about Charleston's past, while the youngest tour attendees ran around the park hunting for clues. Highly recommend!

The most amazing experience! Pirate Sabrina made the entire tour enjoyable even in the heat - not only with intriguing stories, but also ensuring we always found the breeze and the shade whenever we stopped. She was courteous and kind, yet entranced my children with her stories. The best part was that she brought photos! So if the stories were ever in doubt, she had the proof! My doubting son came away a believer. Overall we learned a great deal about Charleston's history as a city and as a prominent, convincing ghost town. I've done multiple Charleston tours with visitors over the years and this is by far, the best!

Captain Sabrina kept the children and adults entertained for the duration of the tour. It was educational and fun at the same time. My kids are still talking about it two days later. Would recommend this tour for kids!

My 6 year old daughter (who is not a fan of pirates) and my 9 year old nephew had a blast hearing Sabrina and her parrot talk about pirates and searching for treasure. All the parents enjoyed it as well, since Sabrina hits that perfect balance of appealing to the kids and the grown ups. We highly recommend it!

Best tour ever! Eric was a fantastic tour guide. As we casually strolled along the downtown area, taking rest stops along the way, he regaled us with the stories of several of the pirates that shaped Charleston. He was interesting, factual and open to answering questions. Highly recommend this tour.

Sabrina was amazing. We had a great time walking through downtown Charleston learning about pirate hanging, earthquakes, architecture, the history of the native waters relative to the city and most importantly about the many ghosts that hangout in the city. Highly recommend this company and kudos to Sabrina as our tour guide. The whole family had a blast.

We did the tour with pirate Captain Sabrina back in September '21. No parrots due to...hot weather? Avian flu? Both? Can't quite remember, but totally understandable. Kids aged 5 and 2 had a great time, and the adults definitely learned some facts too! Definitely an enjoyable way to get outside and learn about some of this beautiful city's history.

We had a two hour pirate history tour with Eric. He was engaging, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We really appreciated the respect he showed for history, that the information wasn't "dumbed-down" or too sanitized, and Eric explained when accounts of history differed. We had a wonderful time! We look forward to coming back for another tour!

What an exceptional tour! Eric was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the stories to life for me, my wife and our 12 year old son. Can't say enough good things about Eric and the good work he's doing. Thank you!

A major highlight of our quick visit to Charleston. We toured the Ghost and Pirate route on a Sunday evening with our 10 year old daughter. Eric Lavender was engaging and incredibly educated about all topics covered during the tour. I was concerned this type of tour would be a bit silly, but after reading reviews I went with it and purchased this along with the The Exchange discount tickets when prompted at checkout (worth it). Eric who lived in the area many decades dressed the part and told us so many incredible stories. I strongly recommend doing his tour and then visiting The Exchange the next morning. The two paired in this order was a wealth of knowledge and our 10 year old was more engaged walking through the museum.

We are always looking for new things to do in Charleston, especially for our kids, and this tour was amazing. Kept our 3 year old and 6 year old entertained the entire time (also kept us parents and grandparents entertained). We all learned a lot and the kids had a blast running around with their maps. It’s not easy to impress and keep our 3 year old interested but Sabrina was great and he loved it. Would definitely do this again!

My friend and I took both the pirate ghost tour and the historic Charleston tour. Both were exceptional and we learned a lot - well worth much more than the $25 tour price. Our guide for both was Eric. He was funny, entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. As he told the history it was woven through stories and antidotes so it was fun and Interesting. You can tell he must read voraciously about Charleston history and Pirate history. If you want to do a tour while in Charleston, look no further than Eric!!

We loved our pirate adventure with Sabrina! Sabrina has so much knowledge of the history and legends of the area, and made learning such a blast for the kids. My son (age 6.5) loved the hunt and the park adventure, and we all loved the stories. Unfortunately it was too windy for the parrot to join us, but my son loved his balloon parrot and play sword. Thanks Sabrina!

Captain Sabrina was the best! An excellent story teller and captured the kids attention. My girls loved the whole event. They were engaged from the start, constantly moving through the clues, and smiled the whole time. Even the adults enjoyed themselves. Definitely a “must do” with kids in Charleston!

Our daytime pirate tour was AMAZING! Eric was super knowledgeable with all the facts and history without it all being a campy, cheesy touristy experience. It was way more than pirate folklore -- it's his true passion of research and FACTS backed by the long-standing history of the Charleston area. We had a leisurely stroll through the most beautiful parts of historic downtown with rest stops on benches (great if you're traveling with older or slower group) right in front of pertinent landmarks. I absolutely recommend this tour as an addition to your Charleston stay. Just based on the the smaller town crowd and non-events going on over the particular weekend, we were able to unintentionally score a private tour with Eric -- what a fantastic VIP experience! He shared what he does for tours with kiddos and larger families (it was just boyfriend and I on this trip), and I wouldn't hesitate to book the adventure for any ages. We received great "local" recommendations of other surefire things to do/see/go eat, and it truly was all a highlight of the trip. I'd do it again without hesitation! Thank you to Charleston Pirate Tours!

Captain Sabrina did an amazing job at our birthday party!! The balloon animals were so cool and she ended with a treasure hunt. The kids had a great time and loved all the pirate facts and the real parrot. Our 6 year old said it was the best party ever!!!

Boy this was wonderful! Pirate Sabrina kept things historic and fun- what an enjoyable time for us adults, too! So great! The kids really loved it! I have tons of photos but just uploaded the ones of just my kids (don’t know if other parents want their kids on the internet) great time, highlight of the trip!
