I literally cannot say enough good things. Our stay was amazing. The valets were so helpful especially after a 10 hr drive pulling up and having someone help with the luggage and car was literally was a blessing! Never been to Charleston before and did not know quite what to expect. We interacted with different valets at least twice a day and they were always friendly, and went out of their way to help us when we were done with the car at night. The hotel itself is beautiful, it is dated but it's meant to be and it works so well! It is really like stepping back in time. The location of the hotel is excellent. Walking distance to literally everything. The Starbucks on site was super convenient. The Swamp Fox restaurant was excellent. I will stay here again, and I will tell anyone coming to Charleston to stay here as well.

We were there for a tour of the College of Charleston, really great location for that. An older hotel with beautiful historic details ... Rooms were spacious, bed was super comfortable, nice lobby and common areas to sit and relax. The onsite restaurant was delicious for breakfast. The front desk staff - Latasha! Wow! Above and beyond in every interaction I had with her! Gracious,kind and professional! What an asset for the Francis Marion. We would 100% stay there again.

Well the room is nice but very basic. The hot water takes forever in the bathroom and the toilet is not very good. It will take multiple flushes for just a number 1. But, really great staff, close to alot of awesome shops and restaurants, and I love the old feel and vibe. Not the best but far from the worst. And the beds are extremely comfortable!! Best part of the stay

I wanted to leave a review to call out Latasha and the front desk crew, they were fabulous. She went above and beyond to help us. The lobby is also beautifully decorated for the holidays and the location is perfect.
