Great harbor boat ride. Smooth slow steady speed. Scenic views with knowledgeable staff and Captain. Don't miss the boat horn tooting under the Cooper River bridge.

We had a great time on the 90 minute boat ride. The weather was perfect. We took lots of photos. We learnt of the history of the harbor. Great time to enjoy a wonderful afternoon on the water and taking in the history and favor of the scenes and sounds that come from it We enjoyed it!

Giving it 4 stars because Gadsen Wharf in Charleston is where 38% of the slaves from Africa landed. The tour operator pointed out landmarks, including the aquarium, yet something this important and sacred, yards away from the aquarium, wasn't mentioned. Stop trying to Erase History!

Went on this same tour in 2015 and really enjoyed it with my girls so I decided to bring my fiancé . Was a bit disappointed in the narration this time. An older gentleman wasn’t very clear , difficult at times to understand what he was saying and he put in a lot of unnecessary talk not related to the tour . It was fine as part of the introduction , but throughout, he kept going on and on about his wife and his opinions of situations . Just couldn’t grasp what he was saying because of the rambling on. I don’t remember during my last tour bring so far from everything to view, but this time I had to take pictures and zoom in to see what I was looking at . Was ok tour. Wouldn’t bring other guests . The pictures in this post are not original. All zoomed in and screenshot except the bridge .

This was my first time being on a boat and I enjoyed it! It was really a smooth ride. They served snacks and alcohol up at the bar. They did trivia questions to win snacks and drinks, wish they repeated the questions because the music was playing while they spoke. The only thing that I would ask is a better variety of music and a bar downstairs would have been nice. But it's definitely something you should do while in Charleston

My trip to Charleston was everything I imagined and so much more. From the moment I arrived to the hotel, staff were very helpful offering guidance and recommendations for activities. My room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. It was so convenient to have complimentary bikes for use on the premises and a shuttle to the City Market. After a busy day it was wonderful to unwind ny the fire pit and make s’mores. Lovely stay! I look forward to my return back to this property.

Favorite part of Charleston. Reasonable prices for a party of 14. Every single employee was kind. Seating can be hard to come on the top deck, but there is plenty of seating inside. The tour was very informative and they also gave you moments to just enjoy the view. Please read the email as it gives you important information about parking. I’ll definitely be doing this again on my next visit

Third time in Charleston, first time doing a harbor tour! I booked the combination Harbor Tour and Carriage Ride for my girlfriend and I, and we really enjoyed it. The tour itself was pretty good. We rode the Charleston Princess, which is pretty big in itself, but I really wish they had the lower deck opened up. I'm sure there is a reason for it, but with the amount of people that were on the boat, it would definitely benefit from having more room and being able to be closer to the water. We did get some great views of the entire harbor though, along with points like the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and Fort Sumter. Our narrator/tour guide was informative and had some humor which was nice. I felt the speakers could be a little louder or have more for the people out on the deck. There was a decent little beer selection, soda, and some snacks to choose from as well, and it was reasonably priced. There's also a small bar for those who might want a mixed drink. Overall, a pretty good experience that could benefit from a few touch ups. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get some Charleston history and a nice ride around the harbor!

We did a daytime harbor tour on the Carolina Belle. Captain David and the crew provided a wonderful tour experience. It was a nice way to see the surrounding area, learn a bit more about the local history, and enjoy a pleasant boat ride. Was also really cool to see dolphins and other wildlife.

This is my second time booking with Charleston Harbor Tours - Carolina Belle. I always leave happy and relaxed. If you’re lucky, sit at the front of the boat to see the dolphins ☺️ I’ve done both the day time and sunset tours, both were great and saw dolphins both times. Hopefully you get to see them too!

Definitely must do if you’re visiting from out of town! We did a sunset cruise for my birthday and it was so beautiful. Highly recommend it!

Great tour with beautiful scenery and engaging narrator. This was a fun, informative, relaxing tour, and it wasn't overcrowded.

We absolutely loved our Harbor Tour of Charleston Harbor. Our boat captain and crew were great and very helpful in giving information and history!!

My mom, a friend, and I went on the sunset tour. It was a great tour, had a lot to say about the town from the coast and drinks were offered on the tour. It was mainly the timing we booked the tour. It could have been better but it was extremely cloudy so couldn't experience the sunset and it sounded like the tour guide we had was new. So the narration sounded a bit like reading from a script but they still got a lot of information into the 90 minutes we were on the boat. Overall I would go again but maybe look at the weather next time.

Great tour of the harbor. We learned so much, and had a wonderful sunset cruise experience.

We had a great time on the Carolina Belle. The crew were super friendly and knowledgeable. They offered us a lot of information about the region and offered some other fun free facts as well! This is a great way to see the harbor and learn some history also, it’s priced about normal for a 90 minute tour of its type. It’s a great way to take a load off and cool off a bit while enjoying a cold beverage while either sitting on the top (with some shade areas) or sitting below in temp controlled area. Thanks for a great time!

Great experience!!! The boat ride was amazing. I learned about so many interesting facts about Charleston while being entertained. You must experience this trip. And the drinks are not bad either! 😊

This was our first major thing in Charleston, and I'm glad we started here! The tour provided a great overview of the harbor and it's history. We saw great views of significant locations including Waterfront Park, the Battery, Fort Sumter, the USS Yorktown, and the Revenel Bridge. We did the Fort Sumter Tour a couple of days later. I didn't think about spending time going out into the harbor twice, so I thought maybe we could have skipped this tour. Very glad we did both! The Fort Sumter ferry ride does not include much narration, so highly recommend Charleston Harbor Tours!

This is the second time we have joined Charleston Harbor Tours, and this is one of our favorite things to do in the city. Booking is easy, quick, and efficient online with great instructions. We were able to book day off with ease. I highly recommended doing the harbor tour. It’s a great leisurely activity to break up your busy day in the city. You get to see the harbor and all the great historical landmarks as well as some of the Forts. Not to mention we got to be on the Carolina Belle! It was a cool “sight to see” for all the OBX fans!

Great views of the harbor, Fort Sumter, and the skyline. The captain was engaging and gave us a good lesson on the history of the area. We had dolphins swimming alongside the boat.

We are so glad we chose to do this harbor tour on a sunny day! Our tour guide was a retired teacher who drew us all into the rich history of Charelston, SC! Excellent!!

  • 5/5 Marie O. 2 years ago on Google
Although it was a cold day, the cruise is worth taking because it gives you an view of Charleston from the water. The boat captain explains the islands you’ll see and some remnants of fortifications built to protect the city. You’ll also see dolphins and pelicans following the boat or diving for food. Recommendation: try to get a seat on the upper deck or out on the lower deck. Poor visibility inside.

I'm giving this a 4 star only because ..we felt a little lost on where to park and once parked when we got to the dock we wasn't sure where to go. There wasn't any staff waiting outside. With construction in the area I just felt it was needed. The tour was very nice and the waster was calm and the views were beautiful.
