I am beyond glad I found this cafe. Friendly staff, well made espresso drinks, and delicious food! I had an espresso tonic, seasonal quiche (with a peppery side salad), and a pom bomb. That pom bomb blew me away and I was so impressed by it I went and got a peach loaf slice and starry night brownie (my least favorite, a little dry to me) to go because I had to try more. Their bakery items are absolutely worth their price and if I have any excuse to be remotely near Harbinger again I'm coming to try more.

Cold brew was good but I cannot tell you enough about this avocado toast!! It has inspired me at home to bust out my mortar and pestle at home and get creative with my avocado toast! I liked this avocado toast so much that I was one click away from purchasing a hat... But then I checked my bank account .... Thanks for a great visit

The most PRECIOUS place! The coffee is incredible. My latte was frothed with heaven. My For the Birds pastry could fuel me for a day. The chocolate pistachio square is what dreams are made of. The avocado toast belongs in an art museum. The donuts were too matcha magic to handle…>>see what I did there<< (not gonna lie I thought the matcha was guac at first…#basicproblems). But seriously, Harbinger (and sister cafe Harken) are two of the most special, memorable, nostalgic nooks of wonderful. It’s like all of the best things in a coffee shop combined. It’s so warm and wholesome, you step in the door and feel like you’re in a room of long time friends, the worn walls, exposed brick and beams just creak with history. Just so fantastic I can’t get over it. Do not miss this place!

For what this product is. I give it a 5 in execution and experience. Small menu but very on point. It feels like Home Cooking. The design and attention to detail in all the little things are the magic in its ambiance inside. Love it.

My friend and I stopped by for brunch, and the food , coffee, and desserts were phenomenal. If you’re in Charleston and eat a vegan/vegetarian or gluten free diet, this is a must try. The atmosphere is inviting and pleasant, but it can start to get cramped if you come during lunch hours. Luckily, we got in before the crowd. Also, If you’re driving, parking can be tricky as well so keep that in mind. Overall, I’d highly recommend this cafe to anyone, even without dietary restrictions or vegan/vegetarian preferences.

The vibe you want from a coffee shop. Great inside, great outside, great in the middle. Full coffee menu and fuller food menu, everything we had was great. Get the spice girl and a biscuit with compote and you won’t need to overspend or overeat for brunch.

Great ambience, great breakfast sandwich, good coffee. Waited in line for less than 10 min, got a cold brew right after ordering. I ordered the Harbinger breakfast sandwich which came out fast, was great, but a little less spicy than expected. Definitely plan to visit again! Coffee: 7/10 Sandwich: 9/10

The Harbinger is one of my all-time favorite coffee shops in Charleston. Everything about this place is just adorable and so thoughtfully decorated—from the dishes and the bathrooms to the walls and the patio out back. Haven't ever had anything less than delicious here—the "Black and Blue" Blondie is a must and, of course, a cup of coffee! Their salads and baguette sandwiches are amazing too. The sandwich and salad selections of the day are always a surprise until you get there, but they NEVER miss! 💯 I only wish there was more parking and that they were open later in the day.

I would definitely recommend this place! Pictured is the Early Bird Granola Bowl. It was tasty as was the iced maple oat milk latte I got. This restaurant doesn't have much seating but has a cool, cozy vibe. Great place to catch up with friends!

Great, off-the-beaten path cafe! Excellent, healthy food options with all the expectations of a fine coffee shop, built-in. Highly recommend! Pictured: Wholy City Quiche, $10.

Excellent food and service. I’m WFPB and try to limit SOS, so I can’t expect everyone to deliver on my requirements, but the staff was very helpful and steered me to my best options. Plus it smells heavenly with all the baked goods.

The coffee is pretty good here! The food is a bit pricey for what it is in my opinion but still tasty. It’s a cute place to get some work done! It can be a tight squeeze some times but nonetheless it has great service and a nice staff!

Small but HUGE flavors - the quiche is to die for the layers had flavor for days, wish I could recreate at home - it will keep me coming back from sure - coffee is STRONG - they have tons of options and the baked goods - the blackberry peanut butter bar OMG - I could eat the pan & the blueberry lemon cake mmmmm - ok I know not enough descriptive words - just go try it!

Ugh I love it here! The atmosphere is so cute and cozy and service is easy and quick. Their coffee is good but their baked goods are where they shine ✨ They have a wide variety of beautiful sweets and I want to try all of them 🤤 Their food is unique and beautiful but not as yummy as you may expect compared to the coffee drinks and sweets. But, still delicious 😋

I have wanted to visit for the longest time and Harbinger did not disappoint. I had a lovely little time sipping on Strawberry 🍓 Matcha and having Avocado 🥑 Toast. The place is adorable and the staff is friendly.

An absolute perfect experience. Their toasts are both delicious and filling, the bakery items are diverse and well baked, and they make a fantastic latte. All the employees are welcoming, and the space is extremely cozy. Prices a slightly higher than other breakfast options, but well worth it for the variety and quality. Quick service, too!

I stumbled across this on a walk with my dog and I’m so glad I did! Adorable patio. Good food, good drinks. Staff was nice, and there are cute greeting cards inside too. There was a lot of food that I am going to have to come back and try!

Adorable little cafe! Veggie friendly, yummy coffee drinks. Didn't try any pastries but they looked great. The breakfast sandwich was HUGE and DELICIOUS! Easy place to bring a laptop to study or a friend for brunch.

Always an amazing place to get delicious quality food. I got a cortado, my mom got a jasmine tea. We split the yogurt granola bowl and the Harbinger breakfast sandwich - both were incredible. The yogurt bowl was topped with seasonal fruit and pumpkin purée. The breakfast sandwich was so flavorful and the eggs were cooked perfectly

Super cute place with lots of options to eat and drink!!! This fudge brownie thing was so gooood and so filling, I felt so bad I couldn’t finish it but it was amazing. I got a dirty chai with oat milk and it’s legit the best I’ve ever had, turmeric spice and so delish. The cafe was full but had plenty of seating to choose from. Great place!

The most delicious breakfast I have had in forever! The menu is just amazing with interesting and delicious flavors for an alternative breakfast meal. Can hardly wait to eat there again. Thank you!!!

This will become one of my favorite spots. It has gluten free bread and pastries! Lots of places to sit and work on a computer if you want. The cappuccino was really good, too.

So good. Massive slices of the best quiche ever. Outstanding matcha iced lattes. Incredible delicious baked goods. They sold out of a sandwich on my order and more than compensated with a replacement and genuine apology. Don't be mislead by a lack of seating in the front. There's lots of seating in the back and a nice outdoor space beyond that. Highly recommended. Will for sure be a place I visit anytime I'm visiting Charleston.

I thought the reviews were too good to be true. We tried multiple items and every bite we had was amazing. Highly recommend. Charlestons hidden gem.
