What a way to be greeted when entering. Lots of staff and owner giving a warm welcome. Make sure to make reservations in advance. We got lucky to get in same day. Food was great. Service was excellent. Steaks were perfect. Dry aged ribeye was the most flavorful steak I've ever had. I've had dessert tray presentations but not a steak cut presentation. Highly recommend.

Halls Chophouse had not only exceptional food, but also gave an exceptional experience. First off, reservations seem to be a MUST! I booked about a month in advance and my options were 1600 or 2200. Upon getting there, everyone was so welcoming and asked if we were celebrating anything, which we were for our anniversary before my husband deployed. Once we were seated, we were given complimentary glasses of champagne and got the full run down of meats, their quality, and specials for the night. The food was spectacular. Especially walking around all day, it hit the spot, and the portions are perfect! Towards the end, Billy the owner, came by and had the sweetest conversation with us, bringing more complimentary champagne and also paid for our dessert. He was the sweetest and his staff clearly think highly of him, as do we. We could not have asked for a better dinner and for better service! Everything was beyond exceptional and we look forward to going back soon!

I was making a pit stop in Charleston and decided to try this restaurant out because I heard the live music and thought this would be a good place to unwind for the night. I am so glad I did because everything was superb! The food, the service from the restaurant (OMG IT WAS AN Experience),and my magnificent waiter Lance(HE WAS WONDERFUL). Everything was wonderful. Lance went over and beyond to make sure that we were had the most magnificent experience. The service from the restaurant was like no other. The food was fresh and well prepared. Everything we ate was very flavorful and delicious. Compliments to the chef for such a wonderful meal. We could the love and passion for cooking in our meal😁It was such a great experience. Their customer service was A-plus! If you have never been to this restaurant in downtown Charleston South Carolina, you MUST go. Trust me when I say it is an experience if I could I would give this restaurant 100 stars and give my waiter Lance 250 stars. Next time I visit Charleston South Carolina I will make it my business to eat at this restaurant again.

I went to Halls for my anniversary. I was early for my reservation and despite being very busy, I was quickly accommodated. The manager was fantastic and toasted our anniversary. The wait staff was very attentive and very knowledgeable. The waiter answered all our questions and made some very fantastic recommendations. The food was fantastic. The food is expensive, but it is worth every single penny. The value is there for the price. The meal was overall fantastic and so was the service. Do your mouth a favor and eat here

Very nice place to dine. For me it was about the customer service. The owner or head manager and assistant manager welcomed us several times and sincerely wanted us to have a great experience. The two team waiter team was phenomenal! And the live music. Wow! OUTSTANDING! However... you will not hear the live music while sitting in the dining room. Only in the bar area. We had field green salad, salmon, fried green tomatoes, and the shrimp and grits, and chocolate cake. Everything was outstanding. A MUST try.

This is an old school steakhouse, when you enter the building you are transported back in time. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The cocktails we drank were excellent, steaks were cooked to perfect temperature. The side dishes are large portions so get ready to bring left overs home. Only problem I had at halls is the wedge salad, they serve it with a whole slice of bacon on top. How do you cut bacon with a salad knife???

We went here for the gospel brunch and it was fantastic. I got the crab cake eggs Benedict my wife got the fillet and both were excellent. It's tough to get a reservation here, but if you would like to go for the gospel brunch you can get there at 9:30 before they open and get a table. The owner was very attentive and walked around greeting people and the staff was very nice. We would definitely go back here.

Everything about this restaurant was phenomenal. The staff was friendly and the service here is unmatched! The plates are delicious and their presentation is beautiful! Walked in to Halls Chophouse to the greeting of Mr. Hall and the Sunday Brunch Gospel Choir. This is high on the must-do in Charleston. Brunch recommendations below in stack ranked order of best dishes: 1a) French Toast (if your preference is sweet, this is wonderful and our family favorite) 1b) Shrimp & Grits (if your preference is savory, this shrimp & grits is fabulous) 3) Traditional Eggs Benedict 4) Prime Rib Egg Benedict 5) Sweet Potato Pancakes Wished we would have tried the Crab Benedict. Really wish we would have tried the steak sandwich. The bacon that came with the French Toast and Pancakes was amazing. The She-Crab Soup was full of flavor, and the popovers were hot and steamy as you opened them. Be aware, you pay for your fountain drink by the glass. 2 glasses of Coke Zero for $8 seemed steep. The service though is as good as the food and traditional Southern hospitality is on full display.

We live local and stopped in for lunch… we were sat immediately and waited forever for food. The server was great and the food was even better. The owner greeted us and they gave our kids complimentary cheesecake. We will def be back in Thanksgiving and I am sure sooner.

What an amazing experience we had here at Hall's! We e to celebrate my husband's birthday and they basically rolled out the red carpet for us from the moment we arrived. Customer service was off the charts good. They kicked off the night with two complimentary glasses of champagne. We order a cup of she crab soup and the lump crab cake for our appetizers and for entrees, I went with the queen cut prime rib and hubby got the Kansas City bone-in steak. We shared 1/2 portions of the creamed corn and the macaroni and cheese. The food was amazing and delicious. Portions were huge enough that we packed up and had enough for leftovers the next day. From the perfectly made cocktails to the attention to details and exemplary service, we couldn't have asked for a nice birthday dinner. We even met Tommy, the owner, who was so nice and they sent my hubby his birthday dessert of choice (caramel cake) free of charge with a candle. Let me tell you, I left there feeling like it was my birthday too! Cannot recommend Hall's Chophouse Charleston enough! Thank you for making my husband's evening so special!

We came in to celebrate after our wedding on November 21st and we were treated like royalty. Every single person working there was complimentary, nice, kind, and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The service was A1 and the food was exceptionally great. Even the owner himself came and congratulated us and hand delivered our champagne. It was the best experience either of us have ever had at a restaurant. If you’ve ever thought about going we 100% recommend it. We will absolutely be back every time we visit Charleston!

The food was delicious! I replaced the steak in the steak omelette for sausage links and they were delicious. There was live music which made for an incredible brunch for my friends birthday. I would highly recommend.

Wow! What and amazing experience here!Was greeted by the host as soon as we walked in and asked us what we were celebrating. Our server was great. Highly recommend the she crab soup and loaded mashed potatoes. Our waiter brought out the meat to show us what kind of steaks they had. They are flown from Japan and Chicago! The place gave us champagne and dessert on the house!! The owner walked up to our table and introduced himself as well. You feel like royalty eating here.

To say that Halls Chophouse was my favorite dining experience ever would be an understatement! We celebrated our anniversary at their Sunday Gospel Brunch and the staff, managers and owners went above and beyond to make us feel celebrated and well taken care of. The food is delicious and we ordered everything our waiter recommended and he did not steer us wrong. We will definitely be back!

It was my first time at Halls Chophouse, and I was impressed and delighted. The service was excellent. The food...the food was oh so delicious. I shared pictures of what we ordered. I had a wedge salad, a ribeye steak cooked to perfection, and collards. All I can say is it was a struggle to get up because my stomach was full. The drinks were also delicious.

Truly an amazing experience. The staff was unbelievably kind and knowledgeable. The (I assume) owner was kind and very welcoming, checking in a few times. The best steaks we have ever had. The sides were so delicious. Unlike other steakhouses I’ve been to, they over full and half sizes for the sides. This made it even easier to get multiple different sides to try!! If you’re in Charleston, don’t miss out on this restaurant!!

Julie our waitress went above and beyond to make our dining experience the best it could be! The management was beyond courteous !! Hall’s was our first stop in Charleston for my 40th birthday trip. I couldn’t have picked a better choice! Their gospel brunch is amazing. I had some of the best French toast I ever had! When I told the staff that I was celebrating my birthday Mr. Hall himself brought us some complementary celebratory champagne!! We will definitely be back whenever we are in Charleston!

What a place!! Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the ownership and staff were awesome! It was my wife's birthday and several members of the staff, including one of the owners, went out of their way to wish her a happy birthday. Our waiter was Matt and I highly encourage you to ask for him by name when you visit. I have no doubt the entire wait staff is great, but he took extra time to explain the menu, how items were cooked, and just have a little bit of good conversation with us, making our experience top notch. We will most certainly be back and I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you, Halls!

Hands down, the best vibe of any steakhouse that I have eaten at. The energy and decor are on point. The owners made us feel welcome upon entering and eating. The food was delicious. I had the Caesar salad and lamb chops. Honestly, the lamb chops might be the best that I have ever had. My only disappointment was the attentiveness of our server. He lacked luster! Overall, a must-visit in Charleston.

The most amazing dining experience of my life. My husband and I went to Halls in Charleston to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and they pulled out all stops, we felt so cared for and everyone was so friendly! The food was incredible, the best steak I’ve ever had hands down! The sides were delicious too and the bourbon bread pudding was a great way to top off the perfect meal. Absolutely amazing! Even better than amazing. My boyfriend and I are on vacation in Charleston and we both agree we have never experienced EVER, the front of house and back of house service being so outstanding. From the moment we walked in the Maitre d’ greeted us with a smile and enthusiasm you do not see often when being greeted; she thoroughly enjoys her job. We had a 10pm reservation (the only reservation we could make for the week we were here because they were booked) and we showed up 30min early and they got us in right away. Jordan was our server and for all the years I’ve worked in the restaurant industry and owned a restaurant, she was the best server I have ever seen. Knowledgeable, happy, and attentive (I went to CIA and have worked with many people she is the best of the absolute best, keep her). From the greeting, to the service our drinks were the best we have had so far in Charleston, and then the food. You can tell that whoever is cooking the food truly loves what they do and care about the quality of dishes. If I could give this 10/10 stars I would and so would Eric. Thank you for a not just a culinary experience with food but also with your service

Wow! The owner held the door open for us and shook our hands—the start of an amazing dining experience. The service was outstanding. This is the best steak restaurant we’ve been to! Highly recommend making a reservation and dining at Halls. They treat you like family! They were very accommodating with dietary requests as well. Anything fried they could make gluten free! My husband and I have deemed this our spot now when we come to Charleston! Thank you Halls for a wonderful experience!

We were here for the 1st time-highly recommended of course. My husband and I along with with another couple are from RI so it was our first experience. Celebrating our 10th Anniversary’s and our last night in Charleston. What a way to end our trip! We had reservations on 9-25-2023 a Monday night and the restaurant was booming. Being greeted at the door from staff including and the owner, was very inviting and welcoming. Smiles from ear to ear and holding conversation like we’d been friends forever. After being escorted to our table we were asked by Emily, our server, if we were celebrating anything? Have we been there before? Before I knew it, the manger, Anthony, came over with huge champagne glasses filled to the very top for the 4 of us on the house. Prior to us ordering, Emily offered us to see the steak board to go over what they have for steaks and to explain all of its specifications to a T. After our amazing appetizers that left us wanting more, our dinners arrived with a entourage lol. Our heads were spinning because they each in an orderly fashion, prepared our plates right in front of us. In perfect formation. We were amazed on the hospitality we were receiving. Not only was the food, atmosphere, staff exquisite but their food from start to finish was truly worth every penny. I wish they had one here in RI but it gives us another reason to visit Charleston. We definitely will be back! Thank you for an incredible evening to remember.

Fine dining for sure. I could hear the music before entering the restaurant, southern gospel. It reminded me of a Sunday service in church. It was Sunday brunch oh how delicious was the food. Our servers both names with a S I can't remember exactly but they gave us great suggestions and above top notch customer service. The drinks, pineapple mimosas were great as well. This restaurant is definitely stamped in my book. I see why you have to make a reservation way in advance I suggest. When planning your trip to Charleston call and make your reservations. I'm not sure if they play music everyday but the live band was a plus .
