Owner/manager & the host need to work on their customer service skills. Perhaps this is not the job for you any more!? The host and manager were mad at life. We were greeted as though we were inconveniencing them. Our food was just mediocre. You are short staffed and I understand that, but just a simple smile 😃 goes so far these days!! We have had great food and service here in the past. Something changed. Today you lost us as customers! 👋

We had lunch at the pub while on vacation...it's a very cool place, with all kinds of old signs, bikes, and more from the 1950s all around. There is plenty of seating inside, as well as tables that are right on Bridge St, the main drag through town. Staff was very friendly and the food was terrific...I particularly enjoyed my blackened whitefish sandwich, which was made from locally caught, fresh whitefish.

Sad to leave a low star review, I had high hopes for this place. The interior decor is really cool, the lay out is easy to navigate, the staff is very friendly and the food looks great....until I went to use the bathroom. The conditions downstairs near the public restroom should have the place closed down. There is mold growing on the ceiling tiles. Not a bathroom I want my children or yours using. The amount of mold is from direct neglect, that much mold does not grow overnight. Sad day

Excellent!!! Chicken pot pie and Villager Burger were very good, great taste and portions. Also tried three desserts, chocolate mousse, key lime pie, and raspberry creme brulee; ALL were excellent as well. Service was excellent as well. Definitely worth the visit when in Charlevoix.

I love this place. The food is great and there is a big variety of menu items. But it’s the staff that keeps us coming back. Everyone is so nice and friendly. They feel like family. ❤️😁

Our first visit to the area, this was our first real restaurant experience here. The person waiting on us was super nice and quick. The food was hot and delicious. Would have like a bit more light being that it was mid-day and rainy. Thank you Villager Pub.

First time coming and looked like a great place, but I will never recommend this pub to anyone. We didn’t get any service till 30 minutes after we sat. Received our salads after we got our meals and waitress was rude and disrespectful with the costumers by talking back with them. Not only was our table having terrible service so was every other table there. The worst of it all was that the waitress was touching our food with her bare hands and we watched her do it. Very disappointing that I couldn’t take my mom out to a nice dinner for Mother’s Day. Don’t go here unless your looking for terrible service.

We stopped in for a snack at the Villager Pub after checking out the ice & lighthouse. We shared a couple of apps, the wings, and mac and cheese bites. Both were tasty. We've been at the Pub several times and usually sit on the bar side, but this time on the restaurant side. I have to say I enjoy the liveliness of the bar side more. The booths that have the divider to accommodate large groups are a good feature but not so much when the other side bumps the table a lot, making 'your side' shake. Just lessons learned for our next stop while in Charlevoix. I wish I was hungry enough to have ordered the whitefish, which I've had before and is delicious. The service and our server were great!

Our family had lunch here on vacation. It was a beautiful day, and we were able to sit outside. The fish and chips were delicious. My daughters had chicken strips and mac and cheese bites. They both enjoyed those. My only complaint was that each meal had a pretty small helping of fries. Everything tasted good, though, and we enjoyed it

I got the perch dinner, and the wife got the broiled whitefish. Both had 2 beers and the tab was 110. The dinners were adequate standard frozen perch filets deep fried, nothing special with the batter. The whitefish was large and well done, but basic. I mention basic because for the price I feel a bit ripped off. They do list the prices on the menu and there are cheaper options, I was fully aware of the cost but was just hoping for better.

Best fried pickles I’ve ever had, and possibly the best blackened Walleye and white fish too. Doesn’t look much better than a hole in the wall, but the service was great and so was the food. High quality and very fresh ingredients. I’ll be back again.

This was a great place to grab a no-frills bar meal done well. The staff were so friendly! We started with the fried pickle spears, I had a burger, and my friend got fish and chips. All were cooked perfectly, well-seasoned and served hot.

Just kind of an average small town dinner. The staff was friendly but the food was hit or miss. We had a group of eight and about four of us thought the food was just alright or could have been better. Because it's in a tourist town, expect long wait times to get in. Long wait times for average food gives it a three star rating.

Outdoor dining is nice. Order the Whitefish, No Tarter Sauce needed, and I ALWAYS use tarter sauce.

So excited to have fresh fish options that come right off the boats on Lake Michigan! All three of us ended up with the 2 piece whitefish meal after deliberating. Our server was exceptionally patient, professional, efficient and courteous. The other 2 enjoyed their adult beverages that I skipped as the driver. The photo is my plate with a bite of fish missing on the bottom left corner. The French fries are underneath the fish and coleslaw is in the cup on the upper right corner. Thanks Terry and your awesome establishment for feeding us year round👍🦈🧑‍🍳🍟

Loved the fried walleye sandwich & delish hard cider. Lots of specialty drinks. Friendly wait staff. Family friendly & also seating outside, if you have a dog with you. Reasonable prices.

Party of five. Seated quickly. (Luckily) fast & friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Whitefish dinner was average and expensive. Good burgers and blackened whitefish tacos.

Best deep fried Perch I've ever eaten. Will definitely be back. Atmosphere seemed in need of a little cleaning/updating but overall the meal was outstanding.

Good food. Neat place. Nice servers. Great location. We had an Olive Burger, which my husband loves, and a Villager Pub Burger, which is a mushroom cheeseburger with grilled onions. Yum! Also, try the Chocolate Mousse. Double Yum!!

Food is great. Very consistent. Wait staff very knowledgeable of menu. Good atmosphere. Your establishment is the example that should be followed by most in the area.

Great food and service tonight. Atmosphere was like a typical pub but not overly loud which was awesome. The food was top notch. Would definitely recommend the fried pickles, good pickle flavor and a nice crunchy breading. The shrimp dinner was great advertised as beer breaded. Many many places I've been say that their stuff is beer breaded but the flavor is dry bland and nothing to write home about. Tonight though this beer breading was amazing. You could actually taste the beer flavor and it just worked perfectly with the shrimp and the onion rings. I had the blackened white fish which tasted wonderfully. If you're worried about spice, this wasn't too spicy and I am somebody who does not like spicy foods. The best part for me though was the raspberry creme brulee. I'm so used to seeing vanilla creme brulees that when I saw this on the dessert menu I knew that I had to have it. Raspberry flavor was great with pieces of raspberry inside of the creme brulee as well. The perfect end to a perfect meal.

The whitefish dinner was great, wife was less than impressed with the Caesar salad. Although she got blackened whitefish on it, which was good. The dressing was heavy and the lettuce was wilted. We were seated in a side room with booths, and it was old and dated badly. I'd avoid that area at all costs. The bar side looked much nicer though, and they have decent outdoor seating.

Food and service are almost always top notch. Atmosphere - it's fun in the bar but very loud. The other dining area is boring but you can carry on a conversation.
