Walking in the door the “hostess” wasn’t very hospitable, the waitress had an attitude the overall experience was underwhelming at best. The food was not good enough to over look the attitude and the sub par service. I would most Definitely drive past the place and run for the boarder (Taco Bell) The meat on the taco bowl was just as cold as the hostess and waitress!! This place is ok if you don’t care about good food, good service without attitude!!

The service was remarkable! The ambiance captures you immediately; I can't even begin to explain the feeling. It's sort of a eclectic twist on nacho libre decor and reminds me of Soho in NY random gorgeous lights adorning the space ..our seating area had beautiful faux snakeskin and the seating diagonally across from us had beautiful mulit colored lights. If you are a hot sauce lover such as my boyfriend and myself well you're in heaven as they have a hot sauce section which I would like to call a hot sauce bar. They offer many great deals. We got the carnitas taco and the carne asada which was awesome and we got the deal for the day( Monday) half price margarita which I would recommend the skinny margarita; the amazing beautiful waitress suggested the skinny and she was right. I wish I could remember her name but she was awesome. I would definitely take time to visit this place ..great pricing ( 2 decent size tacos with rice and beans $10 bucks) they offer $2 taco Tuesday! And $2 margaritas. I would def swing by and be prepared for awesome Mexican food with their own flare and twist. Great place! North Carolina each bite at a time is slowly making me feel like this is home for me😌 and this place was apart of that.

We are from Lincolnton, but was in Charlotte to visit family. We googled Mexican restaurants and Hot Taco popped up. We were skeptical because of the rating, but decided to give it a try anyway. I'm so glad that we did! The food was amazing and the portions were huge. We both ate until we couldn't eat anymore and still had enough to take home for another meal. Our server greeted us within seconds of us sitting down. He never let our drinks get empty and he checked on us quite a few times without smothering us. So, if you decide to give this place a try, ask for Dallas. I was very impressed with his service and that says a lot for myself since I have been a waitress for over 4 years. I will definitely make a trip back!

Worst service I have ever had. We got there at prime time, about 6:30 on a Saturday night and the place was almost empty. We thought about leaving but decided to give it a try. We couldn't get the waiter to come take our order. Tried waiving at him when he passed but he ignored us. The food was just OK and slow to come. When we were done, we waited over 30 minutes to get our checks but no one came. I had to go tell the waiter that if we didn't get our checks in 5 minutes, we were leaving. We told him up front how to split the check but it came all on one ticket so he had to go and redo them. Wish I could give zero stars.

The food here is garbage. The tacos are sloppy and fall apart due to an excess of god knows what kind of sauce. The meat was extremely salty. They are very disorganized. Do not waste your money here. The food will make you sick. However, my server Nicole was very sweet and attentive. She was the only exceptional attribute towards my experience here.

Even though we arrived @ 7:30 pm on a Sunday, ( I swear we didn't know) JORDAN was exceptional. He made sure we didn't want for anything. Service was great. Food was delicious as always. The presentation was still on point as well. We will definitely be back again! Thank You HOT TACO! & Thank you Jordan!

Went here for my friends birthday and the food was good, however the service was absolutely horrible. It took forever to get our drinks and the restaurant was not that busy, half empty. Then I was the first to receive my order however my friends did not receive their orders till 30 minutes after mine. One of my friends did not receive her two tacos till one hour after I finished my meal. We also had to ask to comp her meal, and her drink, which I don’t understand why we should have to ask that after it being over an hour till she received her meal after I was finished with mine for over an hour. The manager did not give an apology really. Just an overall bad experience.

This places isn't the greatest and isn't the worst. This location is right by the light rail. I went around lunch time on a Sunday. Wasn't too busy. The server was very flat as in just "there". Didn't get any recommendations, didn't do any "upsale". Try our... Blah. The food was alright. With the 100s of places to eat in CLT, it's not on my radar.

10/4/2022: Took bartender 10 years to clean off the space we were seated at at the actual bar. She first came over and said she'd be right back. Took her at least 10 min because she started taking other people's drink orders. I had to ask someone else to do it. They were busy, but lackluster customer service at best.

Taco Tuesday is legit people! $2 tacos. ordered five tacos two of the steak one chicken one vegetarian and one of the shrimp Buffalo side of beans and rice.(not from the can made from scratch). I ordered a bloody Mary and a Corona which were not on the happy hour drink specials came out to $28 for everything, dinner for two,which is pretty freaking good. The ambiance was great the quantities of meat and each taco were good. great place to go out to eat this particular night I was on a double date and it was perfect place to go. My only complaint is that the flour tortillas were like those fake ones and nowhere in Mexican culture do you put iceberg lettuce and blended shredded cheese or any cheese on a authentic Mexican taco! But it's Charlotte North Carolina not east LA lol. All in all great for the price great for drinks great for a night out.

Quick friendly. The service and food was way better then it was 8 years ago. The steak tacos had great flavor bwill def be back to try again

I ate lunch here recently and it was pretty good. I just had their Baja cheese quesadilla which was just okay. Their chips and salsa were extremely good --salty as heck with a delicious fresh salsa. The service was awesome with very friendly, polite and attentive staff. The food was served very quickly, and the service was prompt. The resultant itself is pretty large with plenty of seating -plenty meaning at least 80+. There is a bar if that's your thing, with tables and booths. It's located right by the track of the light rail and not obviously visible from the main street behind; its nestled with a handful of other awesome restaurants in a small strip. Overall prices were reasonable, and the experience was good. I thought the quesadilla was a bit bland, though I'll likely try something else next time I head back.

We went here on a Friday night at around 10pm. Restaurant wasnt super busy. Service was prompt and great. Server and manager were really nice and helpful. Food was outstanding. 2 dollar tacos after 11pm, try the beef and pork tacos! Salsa provided with chips was pretty good, not too spicy. 3 dollar coronas and some creative margarita choices make this place an easy recommendation for me. Also the Tequila selection is immense.

Things have definitely changed as the staff has changed and the food quality is changing for the worse. I ordered the chimichanga my fav from here it was w/o the accompaniment s the 1st and 2nd time they "quote on quote" fixed my order it was still wrong. The 3rd time they got it right. I will still support Hot Taco you guys should try it!

I try to go to Hot Taco on Tuesdays every time I'm visiting Charlotte. The staff is friendly, the food delicious & the drinks are good too.

We had a great time. Happy Hour tacos and margaritas were on point. Get the frozen version. It’s better. Bartender, Nicole, was super cool. Big ups. ✌🏿

Had the Build your own Bowl which was great. The chicken was flavorful, the pico & avocado was fresh. Very pleased and satisfied with the meal.

We had a wait for a table but the panthers game had finished an hour before we got there. Our food was really good and they had a lot of options on the menu. Our order was accurate and was prepared quickly. Our waitress was friendly and came by to check on us and get us refills.

Nicole was an amazing host. She made things really easy for us but the food. Thank you for her grace but this restaurant needs to get it together.

Came here for my birthday expecting to have a nice dinner with my friends, ended up waiting 2 hours for all of us to get our meals. When our bills came to the table everything was added to the wrong ticket. Had to wait another 30 minutes for everything to get fixed. I will not be coming back here.

Still a litte covid affected..short staff...and wait time of 35 minutes. The chicken burrito with queso was definitely good. Also had a passion fruit margarita which was tasty. But one of my friends food was obsolete..they forgot her order and didn't give utensils unless they were asked for. But overall I give them 4 stars and will visit again once covid has subsided.
