Another fun way to enjoy Uptown is a ghost tour. First time doing a local one and was excited about all the ghostly tales Uptown is hiding beneath its facade. The tour was 1 1/2 hour. It was a short loop from the Truist Center ending at the Settlers cemetery/dog park on W 5th street/N Church st., so it was not a very extensive walk. The tour had more of a historical storyline background than current haunting experiences on highlighted structures and sites. So, don't expect any scary stories to date. However, it was great to learn some historical facts and to see the "other side" of Uptown at night. Our tour guide was upbeat and a fun storyteller who made sure we hear him even over loud vehicles passing by 😁 Tip: Make sure to take pictures whenever you can. You might just catch something unexpected! Also wear comfy shoes. Some of the side streets are dark with uneven pavements. Best to have your feet protected. Park at Truist parking garage if you want to be close by the meeting place.

Our class of 20+ had a great time learning about the history of popular buildings, businesses, and architectural structures in Uptown Charlotte. Everyone got something valuable from our community "field-trip" as we used this as opportunity to expose students the city of Charlotte and to also bond with their newly revealed upperclassmen mentors. What a great way to have safe and spooky fun during the season of Halloween! Leadership Journey Learning Community really enjoyed our tour guide Laura Aguirre!

Absolutely fantastic, and very professionally performed! When I reviewed the photos taken, I saw something that's never happened before. The tour guide is blurry in most of them, while the rest of the photo is crystal clear, so still not sure why. =-O I'm new to the area and this was a real treat to learn local history, especially with spooky stories just before Halloween! Definitely recommend, and would do again! 5 stars

This tour was so great. Party of four adults. And although not a spooky tour, as in to scare you, there was so much information. This town has become a new live my husband and I will def. Be back to. Laura was an awesome tour guide. These tours get booked fast. We missed getting in on sat. But tried again today and so happy we got to do the experience. Would def. Book again

Passionate, entertaining tour guide offering a nice history of the area (being new to the area, this was important). Entirely walking tour around downtown without any access inside “haunted” buildings/sites. Been on three other ghost tours, it is always a nice touch to tour the inside of a spooky theater or home.

Our tour guide, Elizabeth did an amazing job on the Charlotte ghost tour! She added so much enthusiasm and drama into the stories that it made it one of the best ghost walks I've been on! I would highly recommend!

This was so much fun! Our guide was quite animated and brought the history, the lore and stories to life. Charolette is a fascinating place chalk full of history. Our tour was in some rain but our guide knew of all the undercover options and it did not dampen the tour at all.

This was a fun tour! Our guide, Elizabeth, was fantastic! With a sense of theater, she delivered a great history of Charlotte with, of course, emphasis on the spooky. I really appreciated how she was able to pull together topics throughout the whole tour, making it more like a conversation as opposed to a list of facts. While not excessively physically strenuous, it might be a bit tough for very small children or people with mobility problems without assistance, it's about 1 1/2 hrs. I recommend this tour!

We were looking for something fun to do in Uptown and found this history and haunts tour. Elizabeth was our tour guide and did a phenomenal job! She was extremely knowledgeable about the citities history and hauntings. I had no idea how old a lot of the buildings are and how much history is underneath the sky scrapers. We were entertained the entire time and she was loud enough for a group of 20 to hear. I highly suggest this tour as something to do. Especially as we start to near hallows eve.

Elizabeth was amazing! Her theater acting experience definitely made her animated and passionate about the darker history of Charlotte and the places that may have supernatural connections! Our tour was easily paced and she blocked the intersections whenever we crossed to ensure our safety. We loved hearing about the gold rush past and the tie to the current banks in CLT! We can't wait to try another tour and learn even more! We also went to Ri Ra after to see some of the things we learned on the tour and it was pretty cool!

It was pretty fun learning some of the history of Charlotte. Our guide was totally into it, which made the experience totally cool. He had a catch phrase and everything: "you never know what's right beneath your feet". While we didn't see any ghosts, it was a good time for sure.
