This was our first time at Caroline's Oyster bar and to be honest it underwhelmed. Now does this mean it was a horrible dining experience? Of course not. We gave it 4 stars! The Charlotte area is craving a good Oyster bar and sadly Caroline's has missed the mark. Will they do well? Yes, they will because there are no other competitors in the area. The ambiance is nice, location is great. The General manager (Scott) was awesome and made sure to take care of us when our server was not as attentive as she should have been. Especially In a part of town that a person expects as such, this should not happen and luckily our hostess (Nicole) noticed and sent over the GM. The Oysters were great, slim selection but that may change over time and season. The other appetizers were not as appealing and I would pass in the future. The reason for my 4 star rating was the customer service from all other staff members (excluding our server) from Oyster chef, hostess and GM. Will we go back? Yes!

Really nice experience! The atmosphere is relaxing and the food amazing. I spoke to the managers and one of the chefs who were so pleasant. Our waiter Ryan was super friendly and the food delicious. Our drinks were perfect. Definitely coming back when it's a little warmer so I can enjoy sitting on the patio. The one downside is the parking which isn't the restaurant's fault. The parking garage was $20 for the 2hrs we were there. If you can find street parking do so!

After going to an incredible performance at the Symphony, we were starving! Most of the restaurants downtown were closing and let’s be honest, I was in no mode for French fries and burgers! We walked and found this beautiful gem of a place in the heart of Downtown Charlotte. Yes, walked in our 4-5 inch heels and I am soooo glad we did! Let’s start with the atmosphere. The restaurant itself is very spacious and it’s got this warm and welcoming vibe! Even though we came late in the evening, the service was impeccable! My phone was dying and they were nice enough to charge it for me! The management was amazing and my waitress RUTHI! Omg! She was so kind, I wanted to put her in my pocketbook and take her with me! The seafood pasta was sooo flavorful, and get this this crab hush puppies were filled with actual crab and not a bunch of breading! Seaweed salad was fresh and had big flavors! ORDER THE OYSTERS too! 😋 I was impressed and will visit the next time I’m in the area!

The environment is to perfect and warm. Couldn’t think of a better place to stay at new year eve! We ordered appetizers in southern styles, tuna tartare is quite creative with the fried rice cake. Also the clam chowder over fries is also great, which is kinda like poutine. But the most important part is their friendly service, everyone seems nice. I didn’t like my first drink so they replaced it with another one for free!

The experience here was divine. The food was fresh, hot and flavorful. The alcoholic drinks weren’t watered down. Our waitress Omayra left a tough act to follow when it comes to service I expect from now on. She is knowledgeable of the menu, let us know the specials and what she prefers. She took the time to remember our names and sung to my mother for her birthday. Her personality is one in a million and we felt like family with her. Hold on to that gem ❤️. We will be back and will be requesting her every time!

Ruthi and Lily were very helpful servers. They felt more like friends hosting us making us feel relaxed, comfortable and welcome at the oyster bar. Marcus and Tae were excellent behind the oyster bar.

We went for our wedding’s anniversary and I’m glad we arrived early because we had the place for ourselves. The clam chowder was perfect and the fish and chips too. The scallops were just okay. I loved the place and would return for dinner someday. The staff was kind and prompt to serve.

Great experience. All staff seemed to work together to ensure we had a great time. Our server was very helpful and the food was quite tasty! We had the oysters Rockefeller, calamari, and king crab by the ounce. Drinks were: deep sea (alcohol free) and the one flew south- deep sea was a bit on the sweet side for me but I let some of the ice melt and it was perfect. Husband very much enjoyed his tequila drink! After reading other reviews: wanted to add that there were 5 great looking options for raw oysters, but I am pregnant so we didn’t try any.

We ate here due to proximity of our hotel. If you're familiar with GR at all, when you see a 5.0 star with this many reviews, you eat there!!! Well, we did..... You see my rating. I can't say that anything about the experience was bad, it was just middle of the road at best? Nothing that provided details on such a good rating? All our food tasted ok, the service was adequate, the atmosphere was good. If you're staying in the same building, it makes sense.... I will say, they have a fantastic appetizer special in the evening that we took advantage of!

We went to celebrate my mother and aunt’s birthday and had an amazing time! The food was phenomenal, the drinks were dynamite, and the service was top tier. Josh was a great server, very attentive and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my watermelon margarita and my seafood tagliatelle! Oh and the “gooey butter cake” was to die for. The rest of my family enjoyed their meals as well. 10/10 recommend and I look forward to going back!

I can’t say enough about this place. One of the best overall restaurant experiences I’ve had. Dasja was our server and she was so polite, knowledgeable, professional, and nice. We started with two Caroline’s Old Fashions that were impeccable. Then Wagyu Brisket and 8 oysters. Absolutely delicious. We split a Cesar salad and it was the perfect amount. So fresh. The lady had tuna tartar for her main and it was small but so great. I had the shrimp and grits and it was hands down some of the best I’ve had. And I’ve had a lot of shrimp and grits for reals. Thanks so much to the staff for making an amazing night! Especially Dasja!!

Sat on the patio, lovely breeze and so comfortable. It was a nice little oasis in the city. Josh provided top notch service. I asked for his recommendations and they did not disappoint! The oysters were delicious and fresh. They weren’t completely shucked, so it was a smidge difficult to eat, but a minor inconvenience. IYKYK. But the calamari was the best I’ve ever had! The coating was light, crispy and tasty. Some veggies were mixed in and made a nice surprise.

I was visiting Charlotte for the weekend and came to Caroline’s oyster bar. Best decision I made!! The atmosphere was perfect! We sat outside in the covered patio. The staff reassured us it would be comfortable to sit outside with the heaters. It was absolutely perfect! Our server Josh put the cherry on top with our experience at the oyster bar. He gave phenomenal recommendations to the table and went above and beyond for my boyfriend whose diet was more limited. Josh was so personable with us and made us feel like we were the VIPs! The lobster and shrimp role was the absolute best! I was sad when my last bite was up! Highly recommend if you like great meals, atmosphere and staff who go above and beyond!

On my birthday we came in around 4:15pm. We were seated and greated by our server Josh. Top notch with recommendations. Usually i dont trust recommendations from servers but...he recommended everything i was thinking about ordering. From the drink, oysters, & main course. Drink - Mezcal & Soda & Guinness Oysters- Fat Dogs & Fat Belly Salad - Classic Caesar Entrée - Chicken Schnitzel 4.5 food 5 service I would definitely come back.

JOSH was an amazing server and gave great recommendations. We had a few oysters, calamari (could have been fried a little harder), Caesar salad and the chicken schnitzel; everything was good! They make the Caesar dressing here and I have to say it is one of the best that I’ve had in a while. I also had the Watermelon Sugar Martini, amazing! We will definitely be back!

Nice atmosphere, service was great. I was by myself and a large group came in. I was worried I would be overlooked but my edits didn't miss a beat. Great food, oysters were amazing. I travel all over the country, about 6 states a month and these were some of the better oysters I have had. I also had the shrimp and grits, lots of flavor.

Came here for happy hour oysters. The oysters were tasty but some of them barely had meat in it. The appetizers on the happy hour menu was pretty good! We ordered calamari and smoke salmon dip. We tried their lobster roll too, it was not very fresh. Overall, we had an ok experience.

Lovely food, lovely wine, lovely ambience! Our sever Josh was great: not overbearing , polite , made sure we were comfortable and my favourite was (dessert aside) that he let us be in control of our own wine pour and consumption. Would recommend this place for sure! Thank you Josh, you are awesome! Pamela From Scotland

We visited the restaurant late night on a whim. We were given great service from the staff, especially from our Waitress Ruthie. She is very nice and personable. The food was very good as well, however she was the star of the show.

Dasja was our server and she is super friendly--total Southern hospitality to go with amazing food. We went "tapas" style and shared a bunch of apps and had amazing cocktails. The Mai Tai was my fave!!! Cheers and looking. Forward to coming back for more!

I had an after work event with co-workers and there were about 13-14 of us by the bar. We sat along the window looking out towards the street which was a nice setting. Food came out quick and was fresh. Drinks were good and some stronger than other but all were delicious. I liked the drink menu and how many different flavors they had to choose from. Someone will find a drink they like whether its beer, margaritas or Moscow mules. I didn't order the oysters (I just don't like them in general) but my coworkers seemed to enjoy them. The shrimp and lobster roll had enough seafood that I felt like I got my money's worth. The ambience was just okay for me. I've seen better decorated restaurants with the same theme. I did appreciate how the wait staff were all still wearing masks. I would go again, just not frequently.
