Very self serve kinda place. No menus. You need to scan the QR code to get the menu. Then you have to go to the order desk to order your meal, don't forget your table # ! We ordered mac and cheese $9, Reuben$14 ( no bread) with tater tots and 2 cokes . plus 2% $6 tip. Not sure why.... I had to request cutlery. Mac and cheese was tasty but food temp was on the cool side. The Reuben was more of a hash mixed with the kraut topped with some melted cheese. All in all, not my favorite place. Maybe it will be yours.

Absolutely outstanding. So glad we found this place! We brewery "hop" all over the east coast, and finding this gem with delicious food was so fortunate! We had the Pork Wonchos, which had tasty, sweet pork and awesome slaw on wonton crispy "chips", the Buffalo cauliflower, which was super perfectly cooked, the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (OMG), the Southwest Salad (my husband said it was the best he's ever had!!), the Mushroom burger (tastiest mushrooms EVER), and chicken strips which were so crispy and so good my son was blown away. The IPA on tap was delicious, and the Blue Mountain canned Hard Cider was just what I needed. The food was, hands down, worth every minute of wherever you're from to get here to try it. Ambiance -- spot on -- perfect bar area and separate dining area with ample space and seating. Board games neatly stacked ready to be played, even! Ample TVs in bar to what sportsing events -- great staff of friendly, upbeat guys. Super duper maximum awesomeness, Team! #HopPinAndGo (dot com)

I attended a private wedding party here and to my surprise, this was a Buffalo Bills bar. While that sold me instantly, the beer & staff was the cherry on top. Every staff member I interacted with was super nice and friendly. My favorite beer was the Blues Buster. I came back on Sunday to grab a 4-pack to go. The Bills game on and the place was rocking!

For the flights, you can only order on one side of the menu or the other; you cannot mix and match; The interior is a pretty extensive area with a bar, booths, 2-6 seater tables, a fireplace, and seats by large windows. They have paid parking across the street. We ordered at the bar, and they brought it to the table. Music was playing, but thankfully not loud. The mango margarita is strong but excellent!; imperial satan’s pony was my husband’s favorite beer; He said there was an odd metallic taste for the Aisling stout. The fried pickles are amazing and not frozen like most places. (siracha ranch was spicy). Excellent service all around!

A breakdown: Service - seat your self, pull up the menu with QR code, no hard copy menus, order at the bar. Not really what I was looking for. Even when we looked lost and confused none of the staff engaged us at the table, walking by several times. Beer - good selection of styles, well crafted and tasty. Bar - Flight restrictions are not very appealing - light and sour or heavy and hoppy. No pick and chose the styles you prefer. The Beer tender did offer my selections after much moaning on my part. Food - good concept but poor execution. Our appetizer came out still partially frozen, 2 of the pieces were stuck together and did not cook properly - obviously no quality control coming out of the kitchen. No plates provided to share appetizer. No napkins or utensils provided. My fish was coated with what seemed to be a heavy donut crust, was very dark and over cooked. Fries not very well executed either. The coleslaw was inventive and tasty. Not enough to redeem the rest. The onion rings on our second entree were the best thing served. The Philly steak was too salty and seemed a bit light on filling. Overall not the best experience for a place of this style. Been there done that at this point.

Visiting from Chicago we were on the lookout for an easy going friendly pub experience. There are No servers, no front desk staff. Walk in, seat yourself and scan a QR code for the only menu. Once you decide on your orders you must go to the bar and wait for staff to take your order. Staff comes off as very indifferent, an air of superiority almost. If you don't understand their service model they seem irritated. Once you pay for your order you're presented with an option to tip immediately. We waited 35 minutes for a sandwich with fries and a salad. Food was good! Will not come back on our next visit.

Amazing and great beer selection, good food, nice environment and friendly staff. Had their Ruben and Sweet Potato fries and highly recommend their Anastasia's Chocolate Fantasy stout. Also had their Spooky and Virginia Lager which were also good. Of note this is not a sit down and have a waitress take your order establishment. You order your food and drink at the bar, and your food will be brought to your table. A brewery that serves food is always a plus.

My husband and I went there for brunch for the first time today. Absolutely amazing. The $5 bloody Marys are to die for. So delicious! I got the yard bird and my husband got the eggs Benedict. Both were extremely good. Also try the cheesy grits. The best I've ever had!

It's been years since I came (poor service) but today took the cake. I walked in and was greeted by...silence. Nobody. Finally I saw staff by the kitchen door but was totally ignored. Even the bartender with her 4 customers was too busy to notice me. Is it because I'm so short? Or is it they have grown accustomed to people seating themselves, pulling up a QR Code and ordering. And perhaps they know the only thing they must do is deliver plates to the table. Mind you I had to get my own silverware and water. No one even offered salt, pepper or other basics. Ummm. Not what I want in a restaurant.

Great beer in an old brick building with a cozy fire place! And the food was delicious, bartenders very friendly and efficient. A great brewery. We had the Wonchos, a pretzel, chicken tenders, and fries. All the food was veey good. We chose house made Ranch and Barbecue Sauce to dip the tenders in, and both were delicious.

Great place to grab a local cville brew. We only had the pretzel to eat but it was delicious. The beer cheese was mild and had a great taste. The beer mustard was also good. Allison was a great bartender and full of energy! Will be back! The El JEFE was a solid weizen.

We were down visiting Monticello and spent the night in Charlottesville. South Street came recommended so my family of five stopped in. My wife got the caprese burger, I got the garlic bacon smash burger, two kids got grilled cheese and the other got Mac and cheese. Everything came out perfect. They were great about bringing the kids food first to help keep the peace. This was the first restaurant we have been to in months where everyone ate their food and had zero whining. If we find ourselves back in Charlottesville we will definitely stop back in.

We've been to South Street before but not in a few years. For the life of me I can't understand what took so long! The atmosphere is great, the barkeep on duty was top notch, the beer outstanding and the food delicious. What more could you possibly ask for. I started with a 'Blues Buster', a Blueberry Gose loaded with flavor. Right now it is only on tap. It's a seasonal beer and next year you can look for it in cans and bottles. I also had a 'Hop Grove', a tropical IPA also long on flavor with no bitter aftertaste. Also highly recommend depending on your personal taste are 'Satan's Pony' and 'Anastasia's Chocolate Fantasy'. Food wise my wife had the Caprese Burger. I had the Pot Roast Grilled Cheese Sandwich. I tasted her burger and it was so good I would have been jealous but my sandwich was, well, incredible. Looking for great beer and great food in Charlottesville? Consider South Street. They have what you are looking for.

Had to order food and drink at the bar. It was delivered to our table. The beer was excellent. The burgers and sides would have been great, but some nimrod put pickles on my burger. Damn it. I hate pickles, and the menu said nothing about these vile disks of death being on my burger. The dining room is noisy. The people working there are nice, except for the pickle guy.

Went to watch the game. Beers were awesome but food took 50 mins to arrive and the fries that came with the burger were cold. They’d obviously been sitting on the plate for 30 mins waiting for the burger. I don’t mind waiting a while for food when it’s busy, but cold food is pretty bad when you’ve been waiting that long.

Wide variety of beers. Nice, big space in old industrial building. Love their double-sided fireplace. This has been a go-to place for us for decades. Our last visit Dec 2021 was just a beer and appetizer visit. Vegetarian wife got their Cauliflower "Wings" (pic). They were great, both liked them. We had some sweet/tangy sauce like asian-chili or something. We also had an order of boneless chicken "wings" (pic), and they were moist and tasty. Typical mild buffalo sauce hit the spot. Blue cheese and ranch for dipping and carrots/celery on the side.

Nothing spectacular about my visit here but my chicken sandwich (caprese) & fries with honey mustard was very tasty. I just wasn’t expecting it to be self serve restaurant where you seat yourself then go up to the bar to order. Thats okay but it would’ve been nice for someone to swing by to check up on the quality etc.

Went for Father’s Day last weekend and it was great as always. Love that you can buy cases of beer here too. The service was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere was relaxed. Definitely a fantastic place to stop by if you’re downtown!

Stopped by South Street recently for some food and a flight. Ended up ordering the Totchos (oh, how heavenly) and mushroom swiss burger (wasn't too big of a fan) with a side of cheese curds (a must!). Of the beers on the flight, we swear by the Slippery When Wit and Santa's Pony. Next go-round, will probably just vouch for a pint of each of those!

European style concept where you seat yourself, then order food and drinks at the bar, and a server brings it to your table. Was a bit loud when it filled up after we came in. Great beer, decent pretzel (might be frozen and not fresh), great tots, and solid southwest salad and burgers. Would definitely eat here again if in town.
