Casual university style atmosphere with great background music. The menu changes from time to time, but there are always delicious international flavored options including vegetarian. I lived the Eggs in Avocado for brunch. Look

Really good food, and a great low key atmosphere. Lots of windows, so lots of great light here. Just a really nice place with a southern, farm to table kinda vibe going on. Biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles and scrambles top our list of favorites here.

We were there for restaurant week. It was hard to decide among all of the inspired offerings. Had the cucumber watermelon gazpacho. It was outstanding. The chicken moussaka was flavorful and the cheesecake was light and a perfect dessert. Can’t wait to come back and try brunch and their regular menu.

Fig Bistro was amazing as always. I eat here whenever I am in town. The food is extraordinary.

Went for a restaurant week as a nice treat since we never go out to eat at nice places. I have never been this disappointed in a restaurant before. Our dinner because of all the extra fees and the mandatory added gratuity cost almost $100 for a dinner I would barely pay $40 for. To start out, all the food we ordered tasted like it was frozen before it was served. For an appetizer, we got the oysters which were decent, and in the pierogies, which came out cold. For our main dishes my boyfriend got the salmon and I got the penne pasta. The pasta tasted like it didn’t have any flavor, and there was nothing special about it and the salmon was almost undercooked. The desert although good was very small and overall the entire meal felt like a scam. We chalked it up just being cheap food for the restaurant week but when the check came we where incredibly disappointed. Almost $10 in fees including a convenience fee and included gratuity that had no guarantee it was going to the server. If you are planning on going here for restaurant week your money is better spent elsewhere.

Glad to go here for restaurant week! I got the blueberry salad, very fresh trout, and flavorful apple pie with a good crust. A bit crowded, but accommodated a seat change. Very small starters.

Had a great breakfast and my server, Veronica, was AWESOME! French toast was ok, and the Big Fig plate was great. I especially loved their cajun potatoes. Also, it is a dog friendly if anyone is wondering.

Really hoped for more from this place, but the reviews were hit our miss. We are in town for a bachelorette who is a HUGE foodie and every dish missed the spot. #1 - Cocktails were 14$ and Margs were 5$, so we all opted for margs, and it was clear why they were 5$. Literally no one could finish theirs. #2 - The service was super meh. Our waitress was really short with our group - 7 ladies in their 30s, all of whom have worked in the service industry and were friendly and patient. My biggest issue was that we ordered burgers and fish and she didn't ask anyone how they'd like them cooked. All our food came out rare, which for some people, was an issue (myself included) #3 - The apps were super yummy and worth the price, especially the mussels :) #4 - Our entrees were all disappointing. Lamb burger was bleeding. Crab cake was barely any crab and almost burnt on both sides. Salmon, again was rare which is just not how I would have preferred it, having been asked. And everything was overpriced for the amount we got. The only dishes they did OK on were the pastas. #5 - Finally, no split check. Not even an option to pay more gratuity to split the check or let us pay on 2 cards. Of course we can figure it out, but the restaurant wasn't busy by the time we went to pay and we were surprised by the refusal to let us split the check. Oh, FIG, we'd have loved A LOT more of you, but the $$ packing college kiddos seemed to love your very confused and overpriced vibes.

Real lofted, great, ambience, and good service. A lot of it is quite filling, but I can really just recommend to get a few plates to share all good if you’re a bigger group, but I would say this sweet spot is 4 to 6 people. Can really recommend the mimosas

I like the sausage gravy and vegetarian scramble egg ? But homemade a biscuit wasn’t good at all to me it was too dry and hard. I can’t even take a bite.. and I didn’t know they charge convenience fee for 3.1% it was pretty surprise to me..

It's a really open yet tight and quaint breakfast spot. The food and drinks were good. I would definitely recommend getting different items to try because everything is really filling. The alcoholic drinks were just alright. We did like that half the place was open with windows so it felt less cramped inside.

The food is terrible. Bruschetta is not really bruschetta, just gross mozzarella on bad bread with tasteless tomatoes. The Earth Bowl they served us bore no resemblance to what was on the menu. The salmon was overcooked, not crusted in walnuts and also tasteless.

Came for Cville Restaurant Week. Food was meh and quantities varied a lot, as one in our group got consistently less food. Vegan pie and banana bread were less flavorful than I had hoped. Atmosphere was alright and server was very attentive.

I'll start off with the positives. The decor and service were excellent. Our waiter, Sam (I think) was great and he was very attentive. However, the food left a LOT to be desired. I went with my gf for restaurant week, and while some of the cocktails were great, my grapefruit mojito (don't remember the name on the menu) was watered-down and flavorless. The same was true of the vegan jambalaya. The perogies were good, if a bit bland, but the beignets were undercooked. We were really looking forward to a special night during restaurant week, but we were extremely disappointed :(

FIG (Food is good), I agree. Food is good, just not here. Dinner: Starters- We started with the mussels & frites. The actual mussels were adequate and met our reasonable expectations. The broth was actually not bad, but the onions within the broth were undercooked and made it difficult to enjoy. The dish itself was served without a spoon as if the broth was not intended to be consumed. The broth was the best part of the dish. A soup spoon wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring out with the dish and a decent basket of bread would really set this whole thing off. We got neither and it is what it is. My main question/concern….Who’s idea was it to top a plate of mussels with a handful of undercooked, limp, “Cajun seasoned” french fries? In what world would that be a good idea? Even if this dish were good, the wet noodle like fries on top would have inevitably ruined it either way. Main: Crab cake on a bed of risotto:…..Terrible. I’ve had better crab cakes from the frozen section of Whole Foods. If you’re charging $20 for a single crab cake that’s the size of a cookie, you better be knocking my taste buds out with that thing. Small. Tasteless. Disappointing. The “risotto” the crab was propped up on was about the same consistency as the fried rice you’ll find in an MRE that’s sat in a storage shed for about a decade too long. Way overcooked. Tasteless. And whole walnuts embedded in the rice paste called risotto really topped it off well for me. Throw some random greens beside all that and you’ve got yourself a terrible “meal”. Pork chop & frites:….If you thought the crab cake dish was bad hold on, this pork chop just made that look good. Served again beside possibly the worst fries I’ve ever had. Microwaved McDonald’s fries are better than these thin cut, soggy, limp, overall gross fries. The chop itself….if you’re going to serve a pork chop that is so over cooked, even after it’s been butterflied wide open, you better at least serve it with a knife sharp enough to cut through the tough, drawn up, gray, overcooked piece of protein called pork. A light breading encapsulated the petrified piece of pork with limited seasoning leaving just about everything to be desired. It’s sad to know that an animal gave its life just so an undertrained like cook could do that to a piece of its lion. You took the crown jewel of a hog and decimated it. Disrespectful. This was one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. Food is good. Should be good. But if that’s what you’re looking for, keep looking. This isn’t the place to find it

Had dinner with friends there on a Friday night. Great vibe, very friendly and prompt service, and really fantastic food! The mussels and frites were particularly good as was the kale salad. Will definitely come back!

We went here for brunch and the staff was very sweet. The food was really good. I enjoyed the biscuit I got with my meal quite a bit, also they gave me a truck load of bacon.

Let me start off by saying I did enjoy the atmosphere and aesthetic of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive and my wife and I were seated promptly. Being vegan and having certain food allergies my wife called ahead to ensure I would be able to have options (more than what was on the menu) and she was reassured that there were other options. Upon arrival, we look over the menu and there is one vegan option and one vegetarian option neither of which I could eat. Long story short, I ended up eating potatoes (well seasoned) and still had go back home to cook breakfast. My wife although irritated by the whole ordeal did enjoy her french toast. Four stars for the VERY limited vegan options.

Unpopular opinion? The food was kind of underwhelming (at least for the high price!). Popular opinion? The weekly drink specials are extraordinary. I think that's enough said.

I enjoyed the vibes of Fig. It definitely had great brunch vibes. The food was a little underwhelming. I had the Chicken Sunrise which was apparently a house classic. The waffle was nice, but the fried chicken breast was a little dry. The orange juice was served in a small glass – sorta unreasonable.

Server Ashley was fantastic. We had a large group and she handled it perfectly. Food was good, not great, at least well priced (all apps were $12-$15 and the mains were between $18-$21).

Great food, great space, the vibe is really lovely. Service was a little relaxed but not miserable, we enjoyed our brunch regardless. My tiny issue was that the potatoes were soggy and mushy - likely sitting under a heat lamp and not fresh. Otherwise, everything else was top notch

Simply amazing! Anya and her crew serve up the best plates, drinks, and took great care of our kids. They are family!

Went here this past Sunday. Service was pretty good. The eggs was delicious, the French toast was okay.. wasn’t very sweet. Please get pork substitutions such as turkey sausage or bacon. The beverages tasted watered down. I would still return someday. Also, hard to find parking & as busy as it was during the time we went.. maybe a reservation. Thanks!

I had jumbalaya which nicely included Andouille sausage, so it has a small kick which I like. Crabcake salad with arugula was good, the fried oreos for dessert with vanilla ice cream were a nice touch. Everyone working there was very kind and attentive. Great location and very walkable. Would go again. Very pleasant experience.

I went with my husband two days ago when they were really busy with brunch. Our server, Sonya, was amazing. She was incredibly friendly and helped make sure our food came out quickly so we could make it to an event. We got the eggs in avocado and mimosas. The food and drink were delicious too, but the service was the best part.

Selected Fig for dinner as part of Charlottesville restaurant week. We enjoyed the atmosphere and attentive staff. Our party enjoyed the Salmon, Vegan pie and Southern chicken. They were able to accommodate a nut allergy for us as well. Gumbo appetizer was very good and served hot. One inconsistency with the chicken dish. Two orders with different presentations. One with gravy over a centered dish. One not hot with the chicken to the side with gravy along the other edge. I did not mention the not hot meal to the server nor my friends as I didn’t want to disrupt their meal. I understand you would have corrected so I gave 4 stars. So good but not yet great.
