After having an amazing dinner for takeout over the pandemic, I was looking forward to having a sit-down dinner with them. I was sorely disappointed. The Brussels sprouts were a 5/5, and the rest of the food was poorly executed. The tamale was very bland and the salsa did not make any sense on the greens. The pasta tasted great, but was an oil extravaganza. The crème brûlée was a 4/5. Otherwise, the service and atmosphere were good.

Really enjoyed our dinner and sitting outside in the mall made it extra special. The staff was super friendly and our waitress Payton was an absolute gem!

We had a family meal and sat outside. Right away sensed that the waiters were trying but lacked professional training/example. The tables were plastic and not level. The dishes are plastic, and silverware is wrapped in your dollar store napkins. Gnocchi was undersalted and barely warm. The grits had the texture of mashed potatoes and lacked seasoning. We were never asked how we wanted the steaks cooked. The pie for dessert lacked any serious flavor, and the peaches should be cooked more to make them soft and more flavourful. Very mediocre food with the average dish costing $27.

What a nice little restaurant in Charlottesville's Pedestrian Mall. We tried it for restaurant week. I drove all the way from Norfolk, 3 hours, and was not disappointed. Everyone was pleased in our group. We all ordered different dishes and shared, everyone I ate was really good. Elevated cuisine, wonderful cocktail options and a cool location made it really fun. It's decorated with lots of electric and interesting movie posters. The place is small so it can be a little loud, but not too loud. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

Bizou has an interesting interior shaping, going from like a bottle's neck entrance expanding into a larger bottle's body for the dining area. I like that I can watch the preparation of the food (at the entrance at that). I experience good customer service during my visit; employees help me navigate the menu for Vegan options (the establishment is accommodating for Vegans as best as possible with the available options). I order a Black Bean Soup which is flavorful with varying spices and other small pieces of vegetables. The Black Bean Soup is thinner than thick though reasonably filling (a medium-light weight meal). The establishment takes different forms of payment.

First off, food was very good. Only complaints were regarding service. We were seated late, which is just fine (this happens). Explanation was that the earlier parties were taking their time clearing out so the tables could be flipped, which is also fine. A good restaurant won't kick someone out of a table. Our complaint was that we arrived first out of all the other parties that shared our same reservation time (based on conversations we overheards as they checked in). And, for some reason, every other party that arrived after us that shared our reservation time was seated before us. That included two parties the same size as ours (two people). Other parties that arrived after us were also seated, who either had later reservation times than us, or showed up very late for a reservation time earlier than ours. The staff had to walk past us to retrieve the later arrivals standing behind us, and never gave an explanation as to why we weren't being seated in order of arrival for those of us who had reserved the same time. Possibly, seating regulars first, or some priority other than time placed on their reservations over us. Also never got the cocktail I ordered, but that is probably for the best since our food arrived a minute or two after we ordered so there was no time to drink it before the apps arrived.

Had a lovely outdoor brunch with friends at Bizou recently. We got there right when they opened and although there was a bit of a line, we were seated quickly. The food was fantastic and the cocktail I got was even better. The staff was attentive and moved very quickly

Vegetarian options and all the servers work together as a team. Even the bartender came to ask exactly how the cocktails are desired. I would like more than one napkin but hey the food was amazing. Very quaint place.

Cute bistro in downtown Charlottesville with savory fare. It gets busy on a Saturday night but service was fast and courteous. We had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and chicken parm. Both tasty. I would definitely go back and try other things on the menu.

The food here is phenomenal and do not forget to stay for dessert. From the extremely attentive and caring service to the ambiance of this restaurant. I could not have asked for a better place to spend my anniversary with my partner. Both dishes were cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. I wish I could have taken a picture of the dessert, but we both ate that the moment it was on the table. The movie posters and jukebox aesthetic give this restaurant a rustic feel without making the seating too cluttered. We will be coming back in the future as this spot is worth every cent!

It was very busy on a Monday night which says great things about a restaurant! After a short wait we were seated at a table so close to others that the serving staff didn’t know how to maneuver around us. The drinks, appetizers, and entrees were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. Water glasses were not refilled and refills on alcoholic beverages were not offered. While a fun presentation, when my steak special was lifted away, the juice ran all over the table, which unfortunately happens sometimes. It would have seemed like no problem if the server had apologized or offered more napkins as I sat there with a small mountain of soaked paper napkins in front of me. That was not the case. The food, however, made up for most of the service. It was almost a shame that we had no room for dessert because I’m sure it would have been delightful!

Small portions of chicken during restaurant week. The Gnocchi was terrible. Lamb croquettes were great. The plumb salad was good but the fruit was not ripe. The salmon in philo was good. Dessert, hand pies were over done with a tough pastry. The tiramisu was awful. We ordered a bottle of wine and they brought us a different blend but it was excellent. The young man serving us was very nice an attentive.

As a former employee, I'll never eat at this place. Not only did they keep fresh produce right next to the dish pit while activity washing dishes, I had seen them drop the pasta dough on the ground and then continue to use it not once, not twice but 3 times in 1 week. If you enjoy fine dining with a side of dish water and accompanying bacteria then this is a great place to dine

It was Friday night and we went to our familiar restaurants, but they were all booked so with tried Bizon. The food was excellent. It was seasoned and cook well. I has the beef stroganoff. All six of us cleaned our plates. The chef introduced herself. A very young girl but has the skills of a experienced chef. Great job Bizon. My friends and I will return 🥰

This is the third time I have had a disappointing experience at Bizou but my first time coming public. I ordered the meatloaf with mash potatoes and my date ordered a salmon pesto also with the taters. The mashed potatoes were more like potato soup. I saw hers and figured they were supposed to be that way. You know, wet and chilly. Maybe a vichyssoise? Nope. Ive been to Bizou several times over the years, reluctantly. Ive learned the meatloaf is the safest bet. But this night, all bets were off. It was not good either. Also not hot and kinda wet And the salmon with pesto was dry, did not taste particularly good, and maybe 3oz portion. Both of us were ill afterwards. Ill. I sent a note via their FB page and their email address via their web site, but no response.

Bizou never disappoints! I have lived in Cville for 20 years and it remains one of my very favorite places! Everything on the menu is sourced with only the finest ingredients, creative cuisine and the most delicious food always. My review today is to compliment their staff. Nikki was our waitress and she took such amazing care of us. She was so kind and one the most attentive wait staff. She noticed the smallest details of our preferences and meet our needs before we even asked. It is such a pleasure today to dine at restaurant where the wait staff and food make your meal such pleasure you can not wait to go back!

Phenomenal food and service tonight. Food was just amazing and our server, did not catch his name was attentive, quiet, and just perfect - we had a great time. Thank you!

We enjoyed the avocado toast and a braised beef biscuit along with a bowl of roasted pepper and tomato soup! Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. All of the wait staff and meal prep staff were professional and very attentive. 👍👍

It’s average. I ordered an egg and avocado toast, which was expected. My husband ordered birria biscuits, and they were really good, and a friend ordered a sup and juice, but the juice never arrived, and the sup was not that good

I ate at Bizou about two weeks ago with two family members and had a great experience. When we arrived, they said that there was a wait, but it ended up being only 5 minutes. Lol. They could have just told us that they were finishing bussing the table. We ordered two apps, one was the Brussels sprouts and like many of the reviews stated were delicious. We each ordered an entre and a dessert. I had the gnocchi with red sauce, and I have to say that it was the best, most tender gnocchi that I have ever tasted. The fish and steak that I tasted were also very good. For dessert I had a chocolate mousse/torte with a raspberry layer and I loved it. I was very impressed for my first visit and had such a great experience that I want to go back soon even though I live an hour away.

Celebrated my daughter's birthday here. Food was delicious and our waiter (who it was only his 2nd day) was the BEST!

We went there during the Tom tom festival and had a great dinner Service: Server was really friendly and checked up on us multiple times. She had some good food recommendations to make and even accounted the weather in her food recommendations. Food: We got the bruschetta as an appetizer and to entrees. We got the salmon and the shrimp. Both were excellent. Portions were fair and the overall food was very tasty and well seasoned. Food came out a little late but it was hot and the kitchen was probably slammed the whole day, so it didn’t really bother us. Wine was good and refreshing as well, nothing out of the ordinary. Prices: They were reasonable for the amount of food we received. It is a little expensive but you receive quality and tasty food Overall Value: A well put restaurant. I would go again for sure.

Shrimp Pappardelle was good, on the salty side, some noodles were a little overdone. Salmon was cripsy and amazing, beet and quinoa salad was pretty good as well. Order the grilled banana bread with icecream, overall great service and wine. Would more than likely come again.

Superb and scrumptious cuisine with healthy portions and very nice outdoor dining on the Mall. We ordered the classic meatloaf, served with mashed potatoes and spring greens, and pan-seared salmon with a sweet potato mash and sauteed spinach.
