So good! The place was clean! The aroma of smoked goodness hit my wife and I as soon as we walked in. The brisket and the wings showcased amazing natural smoked flavor! The meats were moist! Even the Mac and cheese and banana pudding had a great authentic flavor. Easy 5 stars! We’ll be back for sure!

The food was fantastic. The service was super quick. I highly recommend hitting up Moe's Original BBQ if you are coming in from out of town. We definitely will visit again on our next trip.

Awesome folks! The ribs were 2 notches too salty for me. I like to taste foods close to their original ways than too many added sauces and seasonings, and not being able to taste how it is. Other than that side dishes were fantastic. Mash potato, jambalaya, and mac & cheese are so good. Fun specials every day of the week are a nice touch!

I had an excellent experience here today, stopped in after getting some blood work done at the UVA hospital. THE SMELL is what hits you first, my mouth was watering before I even read the menu. It's a fast casual order at the front and pick up your food from a window to take to a table (indoor and outdoor seating was available). We were just stopping in for a quick lunch so we each got the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and two sides (potato salad and mac and cheese for me). This is by far the BEST mac and cheese I've ever had from a BBQ place, baked but not too dry, still lots of cheese. And the pork was so fall apart tender, almost didn't need sauce with it, but the house made BBQ is a perfect sweet and spicy you'll want to drown it anyway. I was nervous when it first came out thag the portions wouldnt be filling enough, but i barely finoshed half my meal before I needed a box to take it home. We also ordered some corn bread just to sample a little more from their menu, and it's made with pieces of jalapeños inside. Delicious, but maybe not the jiffy your kids are used to so I'd cation parents on that. Regretted passing over the ribs after everything as they looked AMAZING. Overall my fiance and I had a wonderful experience. We'll definately be back the next time we find ourselves in Charlottesville.

Food - 5/5 Value - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Atmosphere - 4/5 Alabama red and white sauces. There’s only one other place in Charlottesville that competes with Moes and between the two, Moes takes the cake on value. I liked Moe’s interesting and rotating sides as well - a cheesy (in the best way!) broccoli casserole and hearty black eyes peas. Their cornbread is also superior to the other one. Moe’s also scores points for being a locally-owned Cville staple, not a massive chain.

Love Moe's! A friend got me addicted to their delicious BBQ. I love the selections of sides but the only thing missing is fries or baked potatoe. I am allergic to pork so I can't enjoy their mustard greens or black-eyed peas. Now if they put turkey in each like we do in Georgia, that would be the best and they wouldn't be able to get me to leave. Their potato salad is just like my mom's homemade and it is the closest I ever found from grocery stores to other restaurants!

This was the first time we ate food from this establishment. We're from Richmond and we didn't eat the food till we got home. The food was still warm and everything was excellent. Very nice proportions and excellent flavors. I had the Catfish and my son had the BBQ Ribs. The aroma of smells when you first walk in is nothing short of what you're going to get. Kudos to this establishment and trust we'll see y'all soon.

Petey made us feel at home the moment we walked in the door. Extremely friendly and recommended things on the menu. Also have us pointers on things to do with the kids nearby. The food is to die for! Everything from the meat to the sides was absolutely delicious. The banana pudding is also wonderful and has a hit of cinnamon. Definitely home made. We will be returning customers.

Food was prepared so well. Flavorful and filling!! Ribs fell off the bone, corn bread was soft, baked beans were amazing and potato salad was just right!!! You won't be disappointed with this place!! I will definitely become a regular customer!!!

Me and boyfriend stopped here and we are so glad we did! The service was great. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the catfish sandwich, it was seasoned perfectly. The Mac and Cheese was delicious, I do believe it was homemade. My boyfriend ordered the chicken platter and he had nothing but great things to say. In addition to the food, the music that was played here was so pleasant to hear. All soul and r&b music from the 50s and 60s was played, and reminded me of the music I grew up on living with my parents. Will definitely be coming back here!

Hello, I just wanted to share. I went down to Virginia to visit my father the past couple of days we stopped here to eat the food here is absolutely amazing the macaroni and cheese is so so good collard greens are good the pulled pork is good the turkey sandwich that I had was amazing!! The taste was just out of this world and their sauce is fantastic. I would truly stop at this place again on my next trip and look forward to stopping again love love the food here. They have a nice place for you to sit outside if you have your dog with you. They serve beer too😊🍽🍻

I had the pleasure of dining at Moe's Original BBQ recently and it was an exceptional experience. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. But what really made the experience stand out was the hospitality shown by Petey. He was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure that my meal was perfect. Petey is the epitome of small-town charm, and his hospitality truly made me feel like a part of the Moe's Original BBQ family. Thanksgiving made easy! LOVED the smoked turkey breast. We got the gravy, too, which we doctored a little to our tastes but the turkey was delicious, moist and no mess cooking in our oven! THANKS!

Dang good, family friendly, down home BBQ!!!!! Petey was an all star, the pulled pork was delicious and the sides were great as well. My 18 month is a picky eater and we couldn’t keep her off this BBQ. I will be back and I will be bringing family!!!!

We used Moe’s to cater a graduation party and they were fantastic. From super fast turnaround on their initial proposal to delivery and set-up the customer service was top notch. And to top it off, the turkey and pork barbecue were the best we have had. Great food, great service, all at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for? Catering manager Abbie and Moe’s will be our go to vendor for barbecue events moving forward.

We had Moe’s cater our wedding rehearsal dinner. They were on time and had everything already set up before we got there. They were super accommodating. The food was amazing. All of our family and friends enjoyed their meal.

Loved the pulled pork and ribs. Mac and cheese and baked apples were good, too! I really wish they had a variety of sauces, since the only one they have is a pretty heavy vinegar-based sauce, and I much prefer a tomato-based, but overall, good food!

In the old Dragon Lady venue..have had Mo's many times before at office meetings...this time I ordered takeout for Burger Week online ..website said sides would be $2 to go with burger but all I could find was the 3 sides for $8...guess they forgot to add the Burger Week price on the online menu. Picked up my order .it was ready to go with my name on it but the lady coming in said to check my order because they messed hers up ..my order was correct...the Burger was interesting .almost like a meatloaf..spiced with bacon and an onion rings on top...the sides delicious..baked beans..Mac& cheese..potato salad .hey Mo's try to get Riverside's potato salad recipe and you will be top notch on this side...all in all a great place to pick up or eat in...

Highly recommend everyone try the location in Charlottesville, VA. My family had an amazing experience after visiting a winery and brewery. The food is very good, but what makes it the most amazing experience was the customer service the owner Pete here was amazing he immediately greeted our group made delicious recommendations, and constantly checked to make sure we were completely satisfied. I cannot express enough how much the service really made the experience!!!

Delicious! Catfish was perfectly seasoned and breaded. Ribs were tender. Sides and cornbread so good. Sweet tea just right. Would eat there again when back in town!

We ended up here due to the road blocking and discovered one of the best food in Charlottesville. Their ribs are so good. As a sides baked apple and banana pudding are delicious.

Giving 5 stars because all there sides were perfect. The meat was good but could be more tender....will return .staff friendly as can be.visiting from ky. Love my mountains and now I know where to dine.

We just moved to Ivy and there are limited dining options. I checked out Moe’s for lunch and was really impressed. A small but attentive crew in the kitchen serving up delicious, quality BBQ. Generous portions and a great menu. This may be our new go-to… I’m in search of a fresh salad so I’ll definitely be back to try their smoked chicken salad.

Ordered platter with a beer. With tip and tax, $30. Three strips of mediocre brisket with two pickle chips in a little basket, two containers of banana pudding and mashed sweet potato with corn flakes and nuts ('casserole'). Obviously still hungry, and beer selection was poor (about 10, half of which were American pilsner or PBR, etc). Not worth $30. For that amount of money in TX or OK I'd have gotten twice the portion sizes and a larger beer selection. Nothing tasted bad, however.

We used to go to Moe’s often because they had such great bbq and decided to go again today. The quality has gone down a lot since our last visit. The chicken was dry and butchered poorly, the order was incorrect, and the service made us feel unwelcome. The sides were still great but the meat was not at the quality it should be (i.e. pieces of bone in a chicken sandwich). I’m not sure I would return if this is how they operate now.

What gem in Charlottesville, Va. I can’t say enough about this place. The service, the food!!!! If you live in this area and you have not tried this place, I urge you to go now!!!!! The catfish was perfect in every way! Their smoked chicken is amazing! Their sides are first rate! I send a shout out to the pitmaster on a brisket as good as any you will find in Texas!!!!!

This is hands down the best BBQ I have ever had. I have been around the world and back, been to bbq competitions and 5 star restaurants. The wings are smoked to perfection. Sauces are out of this world. Interior is a rustic atmosphere pleasant music gently playing in the back. Thank you for this experience!
