The Inverary Resort did not disappoint! Conveniently located in the charming village of Baddeck, it offers tactical access to the Cabot Trail. The resort grounds are beautiful and provide the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. Our king room had generous square footage, with a sitting area to take in the views of the grounds and the lake. Tastefully designed, the only complaint was that the height of the sink/vanity and wall mirror was not practical for anyone shorter than 5’4”. The bed was comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep. Staff were attentive and professional. I’d recommend the Inverary to anyone looking for accommodations to explore Cape Breton and where they can quickly feel “home away from home”.

Great stay start to finish! The property is beautiful, front desk attendant greeted us and gave us a map of the property, pointed us in the right direction. We got a call a couple hours after check in to ensure everything was suitable in our room (a nice touch) Room wasn’t overly extravagant but very clean and had all the basics. Complimentary breakfast was served in a beautiful building with views of the water from every table. Our server Hunter was excellent. Friendly, ensured we were well taken care of.

Extremely rude wait staff in pub/restaurant. Hot tub and sauna out of order for entire stay. Parking was extremely expensive for self parking.

Stayed here on multiple occasions. Always have a fun time, but always some things that could be better. Staff interactions are hit and miss on what I would consider consistently professional. But the property is stunning which is what you are paying the premium for.

Nice place for a conference or need a place to stay passing through. I stayed in the main lodge which is fairly new. The rest of the resort is pretty old. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Lakeside restaurant was closed (season). However, the breakfast and lunch served in the main lodge were good.

Went Thanksgiving weekend, (Canadian). Lovely resort on beautiful Baddeck waterfront. So many different buildings with rooms, even single cabins. No elevators, so be aware of your room location, most buildings have 2 floors, stairs outside. Breakfast included in our reservation. Buffet. 2 restaurants. Pool, small gym with treadmill, stair machine, and rowing machine. Docking in the bay for pleasure boats, sailboats, and yachts, pontoons for rent, golf course nearby. A conference building. GREAT place for a conference! Live entertainment in the front desk bar/restaurant every night during Celtic Colors. Beautifully landscaped property with small gardens, playground for the youngest, and a shuttle bus, (beautiful coach bus), to and from local events every night. Walking distance to main street, (not a traffic light in the entire town!), with restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops, a pharmacy/hardware store, the wharf, and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Summers are the best, so many activities. Didn't expect anything to be happening anywhere in October, not even the Bell Museum. Baddeck used to roll up for winter in September. Good to be back home for a short trip to see my Dad. I don't usually stay in a hotel down home, but so glad we did this time. Looking forward to returning soon.

We stayed for three nights in one of the cottages. As per other reviews - the rooms need updating. Ours smelt really strongly of damp. We complained but they were fully booked so couldn't move us. The guy at reception was fantastic though - he went to the local grocery store to get us a air freshener and knocked $100 per night off the room bill. The staff and the service is exceptional. The restaurant by the water is good and fairly priced and has a beautiful view. Shout out to Katelyn who served us twice - she was fantastic! The water activity staff are also great. We hired a pontoon boat for the afternoon which was great and again fairly priced. I would stay here again but I would book a newly refurbished room.

The inverary resort is a welcoming resort with lots to do right on the premises. They have a hot breakfast buffet in their finer dining restaurant. You get to look out over the water as you enjoy your meal. They also have another more casual restaurant where you check in. We thought the meals would be small, more appetizer sized, but there was more than enough to eat. They had a campfire every evening and a pool (and hot tub) that was available any time. The pool is a rectangle so it was possible to swim laps. There are kayaks and party boats you can rent as well. The resort is within easy walking distance to the village of Baddeck.

We spent three nights and attended a wedding at this charming resort. The resort location and outdoor design is lovely. The staff are phenomenal and the food at the wedding was delicious. But the rooms (aside from the ones in the newest building) are in desperate need of updating. We had to ask for a different room after our first night because the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable. The new room had a better bed but the decor was incredibly dated (late 1980s or so I would guess) and in some cases the furniture needs cleaning. I expected more based on the expensive nightly rate.

Excellent staff and clean place but their beds were substandard. Their beds were slopping on the side. We had to sleep on an angle. Their restaurant is ok but a regular meal with two glasses of wine will cost you $250+. They are a resort in Cabot Trail not a five star restaurant in Toronto. I got food poisoning and missed my trip to Fort Loui the next day. Their prices are too expensive for a resort in Baddeck.

We have been to the Inverary resort countless times. This past weekend was supposed to be a special one as my father in-law is very ill and this is likely his last chance to visit. We planned out the trip very carefully as he is very mobility challenged as has severe resperatory issues and bad knees as well as balance issues due to neropothy in his feet. We booked 2 rooms side by side so we could help my mother in-law as she provides care 24hrs a day to my father in-law and we wanted to also give her a break. My wife and father in-law both called in advance to make sure this would happen and they assured us it was taken care of. We arrived early to make sure all was as expected. Not only did they not provide the promised rooms, they could not even get us on the same floor. We were also told that there would be a fee to park! in Baddeck!?!? Apparently the new higher prices were not high enough, now they want also add in surcharges that make no sense. The room I was in (the new main building) had peel and stick flooring, the door panel was falling off and I had to put the screws back in by hand. We couldn't open the bathroom door as the gap was so tight it was scraping up the new flooring. All this for the new low price of $270 a night and $10 to park even though I had to park offsight to charge our car. The older buildings that are $199 a night are furnished with beautiful wood furnishings and real wood flooring. It appears there may be new management that has lost the spirit of the old Inverary Inn. I really loved the old vibe and I cannot describe how disappointed I am that this happened and they didn't do anything to try and fix it. We won't be able to go back and try again as my father in-law was exhausted by the trip. Thanks so much for botching this very important final visit to Cape Breton/ Inverary Inn.

Recently stayed here for a wedding and the food and venue were very well done. Having the ceremony overlooking the water was beautiful. However unless you're staying in the main lodge the rooms are very dated and you'd think for the price you're paying that the rooms would be in better shape.

Friendly staff, great servers, breakfast included. Great views of the Bay and nice small size gym, sauna, pool and hot tub. It would have been nice to have a microwave but they did provide a fridge if I can properly recalled. Live music on Friday evenings by the main building.

Fabulous position, exterior looks great. Unfortunately, the rooms are stuck in a 1960s motel time warp and badly need updating. Service is haphazard (our 7am wake-up call came at 6.20, apparently one person does them manually and someone has to be first!). Several problems experienced by our party: broken door lock, no hot water etc. Breakfast is just OK, could be improved by increasing the number of toasters to two. Bar not air conditioned, very warm. Can't comment on the restaurants, we went to the fab Lobster Shack next door.

Me and my husband stayed at the Inverary resort and had a very pleasant experience. Though we had not pre booked the room, the front desk staff kindly helped us to book the right choice of room at a reasonable rate. We enjoyed the hot sauna, pool and hot tub a lot. The dinner was also good. We had a wonderful sleep, with no disturbance at the property. Property had beautiful views of the lake too. The breakfast had continental options, and was good. Totally we had an amazing experience. Room was good, but just a suggestion of upgrade in the room especially the washroom where shower was not working properly.

We slept for one night during our maritimes trip. It was probably our least favorite place to stay. The service was good, the room was musty and up an exhausting staircase. Lots of walking around for services like pool and restaurants after long days of hiking in the surrounding trails.

It is a new spacious corner room with two windows, one of the windows has a full water view. The interior design is contemporary. Wood floor, morden furniture. The washrooms and the shower area are elegant. The sensor light in the washrooms was impressive. The room was clean. The service was excellent. The sound isolation was not great, could hear normal conversation next door.
