Excellent Trio Sunday Roast with a pint of Doombar. Serving staff very attentive and friendly. The food portion was large and meats were cooked to perfection. The venue has a large car park and a lovely and relaxing interior.

Outstanding service. Everyone who we interacted with were polite, had a nice smile and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. My wife choose the fish cakes and I had the pork belly. We were served by Noah who was very helpful. We will definitely be back. Refreshing to go somewhere with a team of people working together. Clearly very well managed.

Came for a mother’s day outing with family for meal, and it has been amazing! the food was amazing, and amazing value for money! the restaurant was busy but with a good atmosphere, and the servers were all wonderful! so smiley and supportive of each-other which was clear to see, noah in particular was amazing, such a delightful young man, he has served us before and always been an absolute addition to our experience and he’s only 16! Would definitely book as to not be disappointed. Thanks!!

We had lovely meal at this pub today. The food was great, the service was good and the interior is lovely. We really liked it and will be back.

Lovely country pub and restaurant. Great food, good menu selection. Service great. Easy to book a table on-line. In the summer, nice outside seating area. Large carpark. Easy access for wheelchairs if required.

We had a work Christmas lunch here and ordered from the festive menu, the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Some favourites were the Roast turkey, the pork belly, and chocolate brownie. Portions were a good size, The staff were very friendly, however the food did take a long time to come even though we had pre-ordered, but that's to be expected as its a busy time of year. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a lovely atmosphere, I would definitely come here again!

A really lovely pub, about 30 mins away from Nottingham. A nice range of food to cater for all tastes. We opted for starters and a main, which averaged at 25£ per head, without alcohol. The service was great, attentive staff. Would happily go again.

My son and daughter in law took us for lunch today as they come regularly and said we would enjoy the food . We got a lovely welcome from the Manager then we’re looked after superbly by Noah who couldn’t have done more to make today a lovely experience. He is a natural for a front facing role and so personable with a wonderful smile. Our compliments to the chefs and kitchen staff as the food was superb. Will definitely recommend to all. Thankyou

Great overall experience and food. Glad we had the opportunity to visit while over from the US.

First visit to the Old Bulls Head for an anniversary lunch, large table of us with two toddlers as well. High chairs provided and the kids were comfortable throughout and had a great time. Food was superb, loved the small plates how you could mix and match, excellent idea. Kid's meals also were really good. Mocktails also were superb, especially if you're driving, I'd recommend the Elderflower Sherbet. Lovely interior very comfortable and staff were all really nice - special mention to Noah for looking after us so well. Will definitely come back again.

Lovely place! Visited Saturday 12.30 for a light lunch. I had the squid. I've had a lot better for less £££. Not many people dining on this lovely day. Staff very pleasant. Expensive, but great interior 👌.

Not very busy when we went but could not fault staff and food was excellent! We had Fish and chips and we really enjoyed!

Fantastic Christmas with the Old Bulls Head - We dined over the festive period for a work event. The festive menu was fantastic, we had the set 3 courses. Turkey portions were fantastic, sprouts cooked perfectly and everything was seemless. The team working really tried their best to deliver a fantastic experience with us. We understand how difficult it is this time of year with staffing, illnesses and the expectation some people have on the hospitality sector but we just wanted to let you know we had a fantastic time, would 100% recommend, 10/10

Food was amazing, waiting staff and hostess not so much. The hostess dumped menus on the table and was walking off before we even got to the table, we got served the wrong drink and when flagged the hostess lied, not asked if we were enjoying the meal/food was okay and even though it was quiet it took a long time to get served. The staff were sullen, they didn’t want us there and it was obvious they didn’t want to be there either. What is also very worrying is we told the waitress my partner was allergic to mushrooms but the receipt has an allergic bit which no was selected. On the way out we heard another table commenting on the service as well. Overall the food was really good but we won’t be back.

Had a meal here tonight for the first time in a year. Very tasty chicken pie. In fact, one of the best pies I've had. Was served by Noah. Top, top customer service. Great personality, friendly and always checked on us for drinks etc. Felt very looked after by Noah. Not giving 5 stars only due to me thinking it was slightly pricey. Keep it up Noah!

Overall nice meal. Just a couple of things we didn't like, 1, I wasn't asked which gin I wanted, the tonic overpowered it, which meant it couldn't be tasted, I felt I was drinking tonic. 2, Risotto was warm but needed more flavour, nice size piece of Fish though. 3, Cauliflower cheese was luke warm. 4, The gravy was poured over the meal, as it's meant to be bottomless we expected a jug to pour your own amount, which is better. Desserts were lovely,

Quick pitstop here for light lunch and it was lovely. Didn't really optimise the menu or facilities but would love to come back again with a large party. Good was good with a nice selection of drinks. Lovely looking beer garden and decor was modern with a traditional twist. Would very much recommend

The bar staff were welcoming and very informative about their choices of drinks, great atmosphere and the food was fantastic, the cauliflower cheese was spot on! A great shout out to Alex behind the bar for greeting us on arrival and when we left, you don’t see service like that must these days so was a nice breath of fresh air, well done!

Very pleasant place with super attentive staff. Sign of a good waiter when they can remember your whole order and the right items arrive! The food was very tasty and well presented. Quite reasonably priced for the quality and presentation. Overall this was a good experience and would return given the chance!

Had a wonderful birthday meal here this evening - we were a party of 13 so we were sat in a little separate room which was lovely and set up well. All of the staff were so friendly. I really wish I had gotten the name of our main server as they were absolutely fantastic - nothing was too much trouble, they were so chatty, friendly and incredibly attentive. (To any managers that may read this review - please find out who the server was for the party of 13 on the 16th June 6:45pm booking and give them a raise!!!!! I’ve never had such incredible service) I’m lactose intolerant so opted for the vegan menu offerings and our server explained how they have such a strict process in place when dealing with allergens to try to eliminate the risk of cross contamination, which is so helpful to know. If you have an allergy or intolerance everything is separated as much as possible and all staff are well trained on all allergens. The food was absolutely incredible, every single person in our party loved the food. Everything was so well presented and delicious! Have been here a couple of times in the past before and will 100% be returning. Thank you!

Christmas lunch on 25 Dec 2022 was a shambles. Starter was very nice, and then it went downhill. Chose Beef Wellington, to be given a cold piece of steak and soggy pastry, with 3 small cold hard roast potatoes, cold gravy… had to ask twice for vegetables, only to be given soggy carrots and parsnips. Nothing else. After many requests, there was a 1.5 hours wait between starter and main, with dessert supposed to include hot caramel sauce which was also cold. £90 for the meal was a total rip off. The whole experience was totally stressful and disappointing. We were forgotten and ignored, apart from when we had to ask numerous times for some service. We pay for Christmas lunch to save the stress of cooking, and clearing food. We should have stayed at home and saved our money. I’ll never go there again.

An impromptu visit that turned into one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Chanced a table of 7 with no booking on a busy afternoon. To my surprise the manager managed to do some shuffling and fit us in. A brilliant drink selection and a wonderful menu with great veggie options. The staff were all lovely and the manager couldn’t do enough to help. This will 100% become a regular spot for us, I would highly recommend!

I was staying in the local area for a short time and decided to book a meal at The Old Bulls Head above all other local places simply because they have a full vegan menu with multiple options available. Upon arrival, the restaurant and bar looked beautiful and the wait staff were all friendly and polite. Our server was called Noah and they were lovely. Food arrived quickly and was all very tasty! Reasonably priced too (£74 for 2x mains, 2x desserts and 5x drinks) If I was staying in the area again, I would definitely go back to The Old Bulls Head and would also recommend.

Went for an impromptu dinner with fiancé at the Old Bulls Head. As much as I like the pub, there’s something off about it in the way food is presented and the lack of staff in the bar area. Our starter was fine but compared to other Camembert we’ve tried, there wasn’t tons of bread or chutney. My pizza was good but my fiancé’s burger had a weird salsa inside it which she said threw the taste off. We seemed a bit forgotten in the pub when sitting in the bar area with our dog as most of the attention was for the restaurant. Apart from that, thumbs up for cleanliness, food appearance, cocktails and price. Dog friendly as well which is a plus.

They got it wrong! Early Sunday dinner for two but the wrong food came. Everything took quite a while to sort out. Then when it really wasn't very warm. I think they rushed a bit because they knew we were hungry. But they really sorted it out and were lovely about it. To manager and waiting staff, thank you for rectifying a mistake so kindly and gracefully. And to the kitchen ; we really enjoyed the hot fig and dolcelatte roast! Food and service to be recommended. We WILL return.

The Old Bulls Head has a nice atmosphere, very clean & is set out very well. There's plenty of light streaming in through the windows and tables are big. Staff are very polite & helpful. We both had Sunday Lunch & it was delicious. As it was our Anniversary we indulged in a couple of desserts which were scrummy. Definitely a place to visit time & time again :)

We came for dinner on Friday evening and were looked after by Noah, he was welcoming and had a great presence about him from start to finish. It was fairly busy and he straight away apologised as I think the kitchen was short staffed, or something similar, which meant food orders may be taking a little longer than usual Which we were fine with and started on cocktails. The food was lovely as were the cocktails and although staff were busy they all took the time to chat with us or with other tables which I thought made the whole place seem really friendly and a great place to eat. Would definitely recommend. Also a separate shout out to Noah who was just bringing his obvious positive energy everywhere he went all evening, even when rushing about etc he remained bubbly and professional and is a great asset to this establishment.

The pub has been renovated with nice light interior. There is a good seating area outside where you can drink and they will serve food. Food was nice but a bit pricey. More for a special occasion at lunchtime than calling in for a sandwich after a walk. What we ordered was good and well presented.

Fantastic meal out with my wife. Food was excellent and staff were friendly and polite. Definitely eating here again.
