Very disappointed in the box of chips purchased this evening with a jumbo sausage as when got home they looked like this, if I lived closer to the shop these would have been returned. Staff should have chucked them away and put some fresh chips on, for the price paid not worth it.

3 times I've visited this place. Everytime I go I have to wait 20 min for battered sausage and chips. No chips ready. Sorry no sausage ready. Then on the second occasion I waited 20 min only to have the owner take my order for himself then left the staff to apologise on his behalf. But the last time was the best. I waited 25 min for my order. When I approached the management about this. I was told by what I assume was the owners wife I was told were very busy as it's Friday. 4 customers in 25 min with 5 members of staff working is not what I call busy. After 15 sec of the conversion with the person in charge. I was told if I don't like it I can go elsewhere. what a joke. If you don't value your time eat here. Otherwise do as instructed by the owners and go elsewhere.

We had take away of 2 large cod and chips. Food was amazing. Fish was cooked so well and batter was perfect. Thank you Anchor Safety, will visit again

Placed a collection order. Went to collect waiting ages to even be acknowledged all young and a group of their friends clearly appeared as everyone was engaged in conversations joking with them. Customers collecting waiting to even be spoke to. Was given my order had a feeling it weren’t right and was missing 3 cod which were the main part of the meal. May not use here again this is the second time been a mess up on our order.

We are new to the area. We have eaten from here 3 times in the last 6 months, and we have been really happy all 3 times with the food. The most recent being yesterday evening. Definitely recommend!

Always used Anchor as food has always been nice. It may have changed hands but this is second time I’ve been disappointed with the food. Luke warm, vile chips, how difficult can deep frying spuds be? Fish was ok, nothing special. Won’t be going back. Would rather drive to Gravesend to m friends chippy which is always excellent. I wouldn’t have given any stars for the food but can’t do that. Waste of money.

Staff are always polite and willing to answer any questions. The food is also hot and tasty every time. I’m happy to have such a great chippy as my local!!

The driest chips I have even had! Mainly crispy bits than fat chip shop chips as they should be! Sausage in batter looks like it was just shown the oil as it was so soggy/undercooked. Bread roll with no butter cost £1.15! Won't be using anymore.

Hadn't had fish and chips in a while, stopped here to try ,really enjoyed ,cod and chips were tasty not to greasy ,good sized portions , definitely recommend and will be coming back .

Messing about in the shop, serving up part of the order then waiting for fish to come out of the fryer meant my food was only warm at best Normally food is good

Really disappointing. Waited nearly 20 minutes before I could order while Deliveroo drivers got theirs and watching fresh chips being loaded up on top of old ones. Had a medium cod and chips. Opened the chips up and to be honest could only find a dozen worth eating. Chips were hard, tasted burnt and completely inedible. What a waste of time and money.

Ordered a “large cod and chips” today which was priced as £12.50 on the menu. We were charged for a fish and chips separately which came to £14.50 with no option for the meal advertised. When we questioned this we were told, “It’s a different chip”. The chips in question were overcooked and soggy. The fish wasn’t freshly cooked, and the batter was tasteless.

I use this chippy quite often during the day and sometimes of an evening. The chips are always much nicer during the day than the evening and of an evening the portions can be quite small.

Went here after finishing work at about 8pm on Saturday 8th October no queue 3 staff was on waiting for about 5-10 mins didn't even acknowledge me. They were doing the collection orders which I understand but all 1 of them had to do was take my order or say they will be with be in a minute, just completely ignored me so I walked out and went somewhere else. Never going back again.

Always had nice fish and chips from here whether it is home delivery or we visit to grab something on the way home from work. Staff are always pleasant and you don't have to wait very long. Even the home delivery is on time.

Just popped in for lunch today for a cheeky fish and chips, it was great as always, staff friendly and cooked to order. It may have taken a bit longer, but great tasting. Thank you.

I managed to place my order of 2 Haddock and a small chips over the phone, and was told that it would take about 15mins. I arrived at the shop and had to wait another 30 mins before it was ready. When I got home I found that one was definitely a under cooked Cod and the other one which my wife had we are not quite sure. I have attached a photo, Maybe the shop can tell us, anyway it was not what we expected! The shop staff should be taught the difference between the fish, so the customers get what they ordered.

Usually good service but tonight was poor. No-one seemed to know what was going on big delays in getting food ready. One Customer gave up and left! There needs to be someone in charge.

ordered 4 dinners for our family , chips were hard and we couldn’t eat them as they must have been left for a while and had too much salt on them , the chicken burger tasted fine but only had a smidge of Mayo that we could t taste , the 1/4 burgers were fine and tasted nice

2 medium cod, no fish all batter and extremely greasy. Chips were wrapped 5 mins before fish ready challenged told they will be hot! Guess what they weren’t. Worst food ever from the shop. Just lost a regular customer

Really disappointed.. have used this shop since I moved here nearly 20yr ago... walked in at 7pm... ignored by all (even though 3 behind cookers chatting.. and one doing the just eats...) At 7.07pm I finally ordered... only small cod and chips and mushy peas!! Told 6min for cod.. came back... was furthermore ignored.. then lady behind me got the small cod and chips.. I was completely forgotten and disregarded! I queried.. then you'd run out of chips...!? Whoever was co-ordinating had NO idea.. when the 3 mucking about behind noticed lots of us milling around... one came out and simply took more orders... you couldn't manage the ones you'd taken! Wont be going back.. no apology... 6 of you in there!! Left at 7.26pm! 26mins for a small cod and chips? Really?

I had 3 plain sausages in which 2 of those had clearly been cooked a while ago as were not nice at all. Chips were like they were yesterdays so oil I’d say needs a change. I had no complaint on the fish cake

I ordered through just eat and the time to wait wasn't bad .. the food was absolutely devine and hot and the drinks where lovely and cold and for a medium chips here was plenty there ! The pickle was nice and fresh the fish cake lovely the savaloy was lush no nasty bits in it and the chips where absolutely beautiful ans the driver was nice too. Definitely will chose this chippy again over somewhere closer.
