So check in was fast and the only time I actually saw anyone at reception was locked front about 6 and when I left at 11 still no sign of anyone to check out. I also had a knock at the door at 950am asking when I was leaving as they wanted to clean my room check out is 11. The room was ok bed was comfy and bedding and towels where clean. Bathroom was great nice showers and very clean. The carpets had stains all over and missing light cover. A blind fitting was hanging off and had not been repaired just poked back in the wall. Wouldn't stay again.

Always hard to rate budget Hotels, low touch check in, room was clean and warm, price was under Ā£60 for the night. No complaints

We arrived at the hotel and the reception were quite abrupt and when we questioned about the parking they were like there isn't anything we can do about that so we parked round the front where there was clothes thrown everywhere and rubbish also all over the place. We were then given our door key card and was told we are room 104 so we went to our room with 2 big suitcases there were no lifts or any accessible ways so we struggled upstairs with our luggage I am classed as disabled so I struggled. Our room was clean but the toilet seat was literally just balanced on the toilet so everytime The toilet was used the seat would come off completely which is dangerous and unhygienic. There was no spoons or cutlery for coffee or tea and the beds were awful . The noise also was horrendous as it was on a main road. Wouldn't recommend hotel To friends or family. Such a disappointment šŸ˜ž

I have stayed in ā€œsomeā€ places but really how can you even think this is a hotel?????? Looks like sone sort of ā€œletā€™s make sure we we leave the place disgustingā€ game happened in this place. Itā€™s actually a joke that places like this are aloud to advertise. Definitely more ā€œresidentsā€ than customers in this place. Think a half way house of any sorts would be better.

Two stars for the low price and the fact that the bed was not uncomfortable. As for everything else - be clear before you stay that this place is clearly a halfway hostel. Dodgy area, dodgy clientele, we didn't meet a single member of staff the entire time we were there and the bathroom was absolutely filthy - I literally don't think it had ever been cleaned.

Disgusting!! The bed sheets were stained, shower was not powerfull, carpet was dirty and stained, our breakfast in the morning was cold and very rubbery and the cheek of the people who work there was gonna charge me for a cold drink a Ā£5. I could go on at how bad this hotel was but I wont just one word disgusting will not STAY THERE AGAIN

OK hotel. Not breakfast service. Limited on food there is an attached Indian restaurant. Which is nice. Bit Indian food in not my favourite choice of dinner.

Very nice clean and friendly hotel. Rooms very nice and clean. Lovely shower and bathroom. Staff are excellent and extremely friendly plus the bonus of having the Indian restaurant which also serves traditional English food. Very well priced for rooms food. We will definitely be back šŸ‘Œ

Absolutely awful place, check in desk empty for almost half an hour, another guest walked into my room after I checked in, luckily I was dressed and the TV had a terrible signal. Avoid!

Spent 3 nights here whilst visiting friends in Chatham. First impressions were of a good, nice looking clean and tidy hotel. Reception were extremely friendly upon my arrival and offered a tea or coffee. Once booked in, I went to my room and was suitably impressed when I entered, modern design, clean lines and fresh looking. The bathroom was OK, but a bit cramped for a guy with broad shoulders. The shower was temperamental and I had to negotiate with it considerably before getting a comfortable stream of acceptable water. The shower, however, had other ideas and constantly changed between 'Boil in the bag' or 'Arctic blast' temperatures. Overall a good experience, room was clean, well maintained and housekeeping was spot on. A couple of downsides, there is a bar in the restaurant downstairs however, no drinks are allowed to be taken through to the hotel side as we wanted to sit on the balcony whilst waiting for our table. There is no night porter on reception and if you smoke the only other location is the front street. Upon arrival, immediately ask how to work the hot way as there's a small switch that is up on the wall outside the bathroom that needs to be turned on before you get any water! Other than that, the staff were very friendly, helpful and outgoing as we're the restaurant staff who appeared to engage well and look after their customers whilst dining. For all its faults, I'd still stay again if for no other reason than great access to the nearby shopping precinct bars and cafes.

A good night's sleep on a comfortable bed. However the shower was cold and temperamental, and even though someone came to help get it warm, within a few minutes it ran cold again and so I didn't bother to persist. The wi-fi was fast and reliable.

Hotel was very clean, staff in the evening was really nice but the bloke in morning was rude and abrupt. No lift so being on top floor is a nightmare and parking is awkward, my tv was struggling to get any channels and only had Freeview so was abit dated.

The beds are soooo comfy i didnt want to get out... Rooms are lovely . Has a restaurant. Clean neat tidy . Only downside is on a very busy main road ...has parking at the back . But hotel manager ,owner is very polite and has clients best interest.

Disapointed in this hotel, quite basic. Small room, tiny bathroom. Broken window so could not open it, room warm, although we did have a fan. Hair dryer and iron available on request, not in rooms. No food at this hotel. Car park behind hotel with limited parking, access to hotel on front, we arrived at 1, just wanting to park until we could check in at 3, but found out that no body was available until 3pm, spoke to workmen. Clean.

Terrible place! Arrived at 1.15pm on Friday and told we couldnā€™t check even though weā€™d asked well before as we were attending a wedding! Had to change in the cleaning cupboard next to the toilet that had no light in it. Access to the reception from the limited spaced car park is via a metal spiral fire escape staircase which is a daunting undertaking. You can park out front but only between the hours of 10pm and 8am! The TV in the room didnā€™t work and we were told that they thought the repair guy had fixed it which of course was completely untrue. They knew full well is was broken and probably hadnā€™t worked for weeks! Our 9 year old special needs son wasnā€™t impressed at all. The carpet on the staircase to our room was dirty as was the carpet in our room and the light fitting was broken. The room size was ok, the beds and pillows were ok and the shower was ok too. Would we stay here again? No, never again!!

Clean, tidy, but area a little suspect !...nice bed and decor. However window loose and poorly fitting, shower varied between scalding and cold whilst operating. Overall good value for money.

Stayed in the Charles Hotel for 3 nights our experience was not very good as we could not control the temperature in the shower it went from freezing cold to roasting hot very Dangerous as the doors have to be pulled inwards in order to get of shower quickly. Told the receptionist about it he said the thermostat was not working that was on the first day .second day requested toilet paper to be put in the room as we were going out for the evening returned at 11 pm no toilet paper in room went down to receptionist and the night porter just laughed at me and refused to open the door to reception for us to get some paper this was serious as my partner suffers from IBS and had a very uncomfortable night Because of this .I would not recommend this hotel anyone ....
