The sunset cruise was excellent. The entrance & gift shop look like a riverboat which was really cool & when it was time to board we just stepped over on the real boat. Lots of good seating - there is no bad seat, but I would suggest the boat front if you want an unobstructed, see it first view. We sat at a table mid way & it was perfect. There are snacks, food, & drinks available for purchase on the riverboat. The scenery is beautiful, & a live band played the whole time and it was Monday evening. Must come back and bring hubby.

It was a neat experience to do once. We felt like it was too long and checked out towards the last 20 mins or so. You really don't see much on the tour other than a few condos, factories, muddy banks, trees, and some barges. There is a concession place on the third level. It was ok. Tables on third level are limited. I had been told we would be able to get an indoor seat without buying the upgraded ticket, but when we got on the boat, everyone was ushered to the third level. When it got cold, and we tried to go inside, the tables inside were setup for the upcoming Valentine's dinner. We couldn't sit anywhere until a nice server started putting chairs at one end so everyone could sit. The gift shop was nice. Unless I did a dinner cruise, I wouldn't care to do the boat ride again.

This was amazing! Literally we went during the week not super packed. The boat had ac and 3 levels. At the beginning they played music. Towards the middle the captain came on and he was great! He was funny informative and just all around kept our attention. By far one of the best activity’s around! If you buy a cup you get free non alcoholic refills throughout! My daughter got a captains hat for $12 she loved it wore it on and off all of the trip.Amazing views! Clean restrooms and fast staff/service. I will definitely be coming back!

The Southern Belle Riverboat was a neat experience. Unfortunately, we experienced rain the entire duration of our cruise. We selected the Sunset Cruise, and we enjoyed it! We were seated on the top deck and found seats under the tent, so we did stay mostly dry. There was a live singer on the top deck, so if you’re looking for a peaceful, quiet cruise, this may not be the one for you. We enjoyed our time, but we would have enjoyed it more if the weather was better. Upon arrival, you walk into the “large ship”, which is their gift shop, decorated like a decadent cruise ship. The cruise was 1 1/2 hours total. They took us toward the Dam, and then turned around. We didn’t actually see the Dam, which was a little disappointing, but we were ready to turn around after 45 min. Overall, it was a neat experience and we’re glad we were able to cruise the Tennessee River.

Awesome. We had the most amazing customer service. Marsha (not sure of the spelling) was incredible. We are from MN and this is the best service we have received in Tennessee. We didn’t even go on the cruise and she was still terrific. We will take the cruise when we return though because of her friendliness. Go here even if you aren’t going on the cruise.

I will start by saying that I do not write reviews unless I absolutely feel the need to do so. In this case, I do. I had bought the dinner package with the upgrades and appetizer. Paid more than $200 for what was suppose to be a special occasion. I had envision 'dinner on the river' as we will be eating our dinner while sailing down the river. That did not happen. We followed the instructions of arriving an hour early to be checked in. We were guided to our table that was preset with our salads, appetizers, desert, and glasses of water. Part of the upgrade I paid for was to have a bottle of wine. I was told I would have 4 tokens I could redeem for 1 bottle of wine. I stood at the bar, that had no bartender for about 10 min to get a bottle of wine so we could enjoy our meal, but no one ever came. So I sat back down in hopes someone would come by and ask if we needed anything. We depart at 5:30 pm and its now 4:45. We ate our salads and appetizers by this time with no one wine or anyone checking on us. Our window view that I paid extra for was at that time the back of the building that the boat was docked at. They bring our meals to us before we even finished our appetizers, we still have not departed from the dock. Since we did not want our food to be cold, we planned to just continue to eat our dinner entre once we finished our appetizers. Time is now 5:10. The food was sitting next to us for maybe less than 10 min in a food warmer tray thing (whatever you call it). We start to eat the dinner and it was barley warm enough to be enjoyable. Steak was chewy and not seasoned. Chicken was so tough we could not eat it without our jaws hurting. Rice was basic. The vegetable medley was veggies that was steamed (I presume). And the potatoes, which was the best thing on the plate, was decent but still cold. The rolls that came with it were old and chewy. We had drank all of our water and I had asked 3 different people who were walking by to bring us some water. I got the same response each time; "I will let your server know" or "I will get you some in a second." We ate the food that our stomachs were able to tolerate before someone was able to bring us water. Time is now 5:30, food has been ate, waters JUST got refilled, no wine or any alcohol, window view was a back of a building, and we still have not departed from the dock. That experience, or shall I say lack thereof, cost me over $200. So my 'dinner on the river' plan turned out to be a horrible decision for our special occasion. We had even discussed that going to Waffle House would have been better. I really hope this experience was due to in part of COVID and that other people do not experience this the way I did. Maybe better planning is what Southern Belle needs.

Came to Chattanooga for the weekend, chose the Southern Belle Riverboat for a Dinner Cruise. It was beautiful, cool evening. The staff was attentive. Dinner was a slice of prime rib, grilled chicken, red potatoes, green beans and rice. Food was good, no exceptional but good. Lemon pound cake for desert was soft and moist. Atmosphere was the best, we went up to the top deck to enjoy the cruise down the river. Great live music, beautiful views! All in all it was a good night. Got to relax and enjoy some much needed time with my wife! Would recommend!

The 3-hour fall foliage cruise was very relaxing, though we were on the early side to see fall colors. No guarantees - I get that. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had beautiful weather. When purchasing our tickets it was VERY CLEAR that no refunds are given. Understood. Passengers were asked to arrive 1 hour prior to departure. OK - good idea. However we left 20 minutes late waiting for the entertainment to arrive. We were disappointed that the departure time was not as strict as the refund policy. We were expecting a bit more narration about the Tennessee River and the area in which the cruise took place. The little bit we did get was very interesting but it happened with in 15 minutes of docking. Wondering why the information wasn't shared when we could actually look at the area? We were not expecting 3 hours of narration, but we were expecting more. We also enjoyed learning about riverboat history - just wanted more.

Beautiful sunset cruise! Staff from beginning to end was fantastic. The band was fun and had everyone on the upper deck standing and singing tunes from Jimmy Buffet to God Bless America to gospel hymns. The scenery itself was perfect!

We went there as a family of 4. I believe the price was very fair and the service was very good. The only reason it's getting 4 stars rather than 5 it's because I felt that the trip was maybe a little bit too long. I also did not like that we left 30 minutes late and I understand it is not the company's fault for people being late but at the same time I think this should have a left on time or really close to on time. We did the fall colors tour, which is meant to be longer, but I would like to do the regular 1.5 hour tour. I would recommend this ride.

We took the sunset cruise, and opted for the barbecue plate with sodas. You have to wait in the same line as the bar to get your food, which took forever. Perhaps it's better on an actual dinner cruise. The cruise part was enjoyable enough, but the boat needs some TLC. The carpet needs cleaning, the brass needs polishing, etc.

We had stayed an extra night in Chattanooga after the close of a conference and booked the Sunset Tour with the Gold Package. Primarily we did the Gold Package for the seating, but the wine and snacks were a nice bonus. The experience was very nice, good price point, and very friendly staff. Did not know that there was live music until we boarded but a super nice bonus. The negatives while minor were the lack of a knowledgeable bar staff (they tried but if you keep it simple you will be fine) and the facilities were a little worn. Definitely worth the time and expense.

My husband and I went on a sunset cruise and it was very peaceful! Entertainment was on the upper level with drinks and food. Easy to find and paid parking is right across the road. We went as a couple but would be fun for kids too!

Was relaxing and peaceful experience. The music was great. I was by myself so didn't opt for any of the food options but if I were with another person or celebrating something they have some nice options with the higher priced tickets.

We ate on the old casino boat first, where they have the check in and souvenir shop. Went to the third floor and had a burger which was really good. My son had the chicken sandwich and it was bigger than the bun; I mean huge lol. Hospitality was very good and the boat tour was amazing and relaxing.

A great night out on the Southern Bell Riverboat Sunset Cruise. A later departure would have been better for the Sunset, but it was very enjoyable either way. The crew was very friendly and helpful and the live music was great. Onboard food choices for the cruise is limited and a little pricey (as expected) for what you get. Overall a great experience 👍

We were given such a warm welcome boarding the Latitude 35. Every seat had perfect views. There's plenty of time to have a drink while relaxing and taking in the gorgeous views from the Tennessee River.

The boat you take is located along the stationary one you see from the shore. You have to go through the stationary boat to get to it, which has a gift shop and a burger place. The boat is rather dated but not surprising given it’s age. With a “package” you get an assigned table on the bottom deck with a linen table cloth. If it’s not a busy time of year or day, the packages aren’t worth it given what they provide and the quality unless you want to have an assigned table. If you don’t have a package you can sit anywhere on the middle or upper deck. The upper deck is outside and has a snack bar. The commentary wasn’t great. The scenery was pretty in parts but nothing special. If you are looking for a basic river cruise with no high expectations then this is it or else it’s not really worth it.

This excursion was a birthday gift to my daughter. The weather during the originally scheduled trip was very inclement so we were rebooked to the sunset tour and given a free charcuterie plate as well. This worked out very well. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience on this riverboat tour! It was relaxing, beautiful and tasty! Thank you very much!

We had such a magical time riding the Southern Belle Riverboat for a fall color trip down the Tennessee River. We had the opportunity to ride in the wheelhouse with Captain Mike and a friendly Mate in training. It was absolutely worth the price — and we plan to ride again next fall. 10/10.

We fully recommend the sunset cruise. Fabulous time full of gorgeous views and a bit of slow relaxation. We did the upgrade with a bottle of champagne and food and it was so enjoyable. Boarding and getting back off is fairly easy and organized. Cocktails, soft drinks and snacks are available, as well as live entertainment on the top deck for the sunset cruise. Definitely do it at least once! #Funnerthanmost

The boat ride was great, beautiful scenery, awesome weather, maybe 3 hours is long. Well organized, entertainment was 4star for a cruising down the river, cost was reasonable. The negatives were bathrooms needed to be clean, charcuterie board were just ok, wine/drink selection good, table service was 2 Star max.

Loved it! They had a terrible band That played the same songs over and over. We sat as far away as possible, in the front. I can't imagine doing this whole sitting in the back watching a band who can't sing and knows 5 songs. The captain was very nice when we chatted.

Great experience and a must for your Chattanooga visit if weather permits! I've done both the evening and afternoon cruises and it's a fun, scenic and relaxing experience- whether with live music or the narration on a nice, sunny day. Highly recommended!

Love this place when we’re in town! The bar is little weird. We spent maybe 2 hours outside after ordering from the bar and towards 5pm become busier. Overheard how someone waited 15-20 mins at the bar to order drinks only to be told to go in line to order with everyone else. Pretty sure that’s not typical bar service or maybe it was the bartender juggling the people who needed orders and pay.

We had a fabulous time on the Southern Belle Riverboat. We booked ahead of time on the website. They have a number of different packages for meals as well as the cruise and an option for cruise only. We opted for the BBQ sandwich option which was very tasty. The staff on-shore was very friendly and helpful. The crew on the ship was great! The live music was Ok but the views and narration were excellent. We are thrilled we decided to take the cruise. Parking goes fast on the weekend so get there early if you cruise on Saturday or Sunday.

Overall I was very impressed with the condition of the boat since she has been sailing for 38 years. The staff on the ship was very knowledgeable of the history of the area. I wish there was even more knowledge shared. We sat inside mainly since it was hot outside but we got to see many amazing bridges and birds. Because it being round trip we got to see both sides of what the river had to offer. The one hour and 30 minutes was just the perfect amount of time. No issues with motion or sea sickness because only going 6 knots. I would recommend getting there a little early to enjoy the gift area that had a huge selection of items. Some priced a little high but it is a tourist thing. Overall I would highly recommend this ship and sailing company!!! See you all next time for a dinner cruise. Dclcruisingdad

We were in Chattanooga for the first time and went by the riverfront walk. We saw the boat and thought, "Why not?!" It was an incredible experience. The captain was very polite and greeted us with a smile. We sat up on the upper deck underneath the pavilion. There was music that was soft and relaxing to listen to. We choose the Sunset Cruise with optional upgrade. The drinks were cool to help us as we explored the riverfront. I recommend this to anyone who would like to just sit and relax while on the river.

  • 4/5 Tim W. 7 months ago on Google
The tour lasts an hour and a half. You get some nice views of the riverside and some interesting bits of history. We had lunch before we left at the dock on board their old riverboat, that has-been converted into a gift shop, dock, restaurant, bar. The food was good and you get to sit and watch the river.

We went on the sunset cruise, so we got to enjoy a local artist's music the whole time. We sat on the top deck, so we were able to take in lots of great views. The captain even pointed out some eagles that he had been watching for several weeks. It was a nice touch that we got a local moon pie to enjoy. Definitely reccomended!

My wife and I had a great time on this river boat ride. It was the smaller boat it was easy to see everything because we were not undercover. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on everything that we saw along the river and took the time to tell us a little bit of detail about some of the things. our whole time in Chattanooga Tennessee was awesome I wish I could live there. It's a beautiful place and the artwork all around town makes it just a joy to go around and see.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of dining and cruising with the crew of the Southern Belle Riverboat. I recommend that if you get the chance, hop aboard for this three hour cruise. It was a family day outing with a party of 10. The food was good, the crew service exemplary, and safety precautions were taken. Thank you so much for such a fun day. We also had a great time with Bingo!!!

We did a tour over Labor Day and the boat was gross. There were beer cans and half empty drinks spilled all over the deck and tables. Nothing had been cleaned from the previous passengers - which is bad enough but considering COVID, it wasn’t cool. As we got off the boat the captain was trying to get a passenger off who was very drunk. His girlfriend was trying to fight the captain! Not a family-friendly experience.

I purchased two tickets to the Christmas Carol Dinner Cruise expecting a Christmas Carol Dinner Cruise. However, it was more accurately a Cover Band Doing Their Favorite Covers Cruise. There were maybe 5-10 Christmas songs in the 2.5 hour cruise and those were mostly concentrated at the beginning and end. In between there was Jimmy Buffet, Fleetwood Mac, and some recorded songs being played like Wobble and the Electric Slide. That's fun and all, but I bought my tickets expecting a Christmas Carol Cruise and as such I was majorly disappointed and felt ripped off. I wouldn't have purchased them if I knew the contents of the cruise. The band even refused to play some requested Christmas songs and carols. If the cruise is billed as a Christmas Carol Cruise then it needs to primarily feature Christmas Carols. The food was okay and the rest of the experience was passable.
