Small zoo with the experiences of feeding giraffes at certain times and camel rides on certain days. The animals looked well fed and their areas were clean and maintained. The website says 2 hours for the experience but it is so small that one could cruise easily through it in about an hour. Also this zoo is an easy walk for anyone with mobility issues.

We visited most recently for the Asian Lantern Festival which required tickets to be purchased in advance online. They are currently building a new habitat for giraffes that will be a large focal point near the entrance. The Lantern Festival has a clearly marked path to guide you through all of the lights. Ordinarily you can wander any direction you want to with signage directing you to specific exhibits. Some of the animals were still visible at night. There are places to stop and get snacks.

Playground was amazing! So much for the kids to do. They have great inclusive swings. The parent + toddler swings were the best I've seen so far. Some shading is nice for the sunny days! I highly recommend. I hear the splash pad and pool are also great!

This zoo is small but DENSE. Plenty to look at and learn for both adults and kids. Even the day after Christmas had a good crowd and most of the exhibits were open. Watching the feedings, petting the goats, or riding the camels will leave lasting memories. Not a place you just go once!

4 year old loved the little goat petting zoo part (as well as my husband). We were watching the camel as a train sped by - so that was nice surprise for the kid. Giraffe building seemed big and new. The park off to the side of the zoo was huge. Great stop on our road trip home.

Been here a few times over the years. Always a great time. Such a nice little zoo. It's smaller than Nashville zoo but so much more peaceful and way less crowded. They have giraffe feedings and also a goat petting area which is fun. Very reasonably priced and everything is wheelchair accessible. Tip- tickets are cheaper when you buy them online.

Easy access, free parking, nice shaded walkways. I love going to the zoo when I visit a new city, and this is no exception. This Little zoo overall was a great place to visit. We stopped on Saturday morning, and the crowds were minimal. While they don't feature a lot of the larger animals that the bigger zoos do, they still have a very wide variety from around the world. Both native and exotic species, from mountain Lions to jaguars to capybaras and red pandas. You'll definitely have an enjoyable visit.

Nice small zoo, perfect for a leisurely stroll to check out some animals and just enjoy a day out and about. It doesn't take long to go through the entire zoo so make sure you take it slow and enjoy each of the animals to the fullest. We played with the Tamarin for quite awhile, they were very entertaining and interactive. The giraffes are the main attraction and they know it! They prance around and show off, not camera shy at all! The grounds are well maintained and the enclosures are adequate size for the animals comfort. They all seemed content and healthy in their environment. We visited the zoo back in April and there were several signs and promises of things to come so we'll be back when we return to the area. The only issue is the staff, they seem very disinterested in any of the visitors or their job in general. They didn't affect our visit, we enjoyed ourselves despite their attitudes but they definitely didn't enhance our visit.

Can't review the zoo on the animals, due to I've only been there for the Asian Lantern Festival (I'll come back for the animals later). The latern Festival was very well laid out and had lots of lanterns; many even were animated. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. The hot cocoa was pretty tasty and warmed us up on a cool night. The various interactive areas were cool to experience and the kids loved the whole experience as well. Highly suggested.

It had been years since the last time we had visited but I kept hearing about the additional animals such as the red panda and then the giraffes. Bravo to The Chattanooga Zoo for an interesting and eclectic mix of animals as well as some very nice improvements to the layout and overall appearance! We allowed 2 hours but needed at least 3 to see and enjoy everything. My only concern was the size! The giraffes, coyotes and big cats seriously need more room to roam! The monkeys need more space to play and exercise...That goes for most of the animals. What can be done? Does our zoo need to move to a larger property or acquire more space in the Warner Park? I hope Chattanooga will support one or the other!

Took the kids to the Zoo for a family member's birthday. We all had a blast. The Zoo is small if you grew up going to the San Diego Zoo but it's not bad for little old Chattanooga. We ended up buying a family pass online and it was cheaper to get in. Now we can go all the time with the kids for the next year.

This place was amazing! Came here with my mom and service dog, which they were very accommodating of which I appreciate. The staff were so nice and attentive. The layout was just perfect. Did notice they had a lot of animals off exhibit which is very disappointing. Also, the place was not completely wheelchair accessible. Noticed a older gentleman wanting to view the red panda exhibit (which is bigger here) but had rented a wheelchair and there was no ramp provided for him to get to the exhibit and both sides had stairs.

O boy the Zoo. As an uncle to two boys I spend a lot of time here and I have also volunteered here. The staff is awesome and it’s very clean. The exhibits and animals are fantastic. If you are here in Chattanooga and want a great family day don’t pass up the Zoo! Follow along on my adventures on instagram @gottalovett_photography

I’ll save you the trouble and upload pictures of everything you’ll see. Don’t bring a stroller unless you want to carry it up the stairs to see the indoor red panda exhibit. And if a sign says “exit only”, it’s guaranteed not to be the exit. Maybe it’s cool when it’s not under construction, but none of my kids enjoyed it. The only good thing about it is that it isn’t crowded…..with good reason. The children’s petting zoo goats are also amazing.

We went for the Asian lantern festival and it was pretty cool! Definitely worth checking out! We purchased our tickets ahead of time online and picked which time slot we wanted. It was a very easy process and a great experience! While there we got a hot chocolate & pretzel, both were good but pretty pricy. For me it was something you see once, but I probably wouldn’t go back again for a couple of years. Definitely worth checking out though & it seemed like they had a decent amount of things for kids too!

Nice to get out with the kids for some inexpensive fun. The animals looked healthy, and park was relatively clean. Restroom near goats area was odorous and in need of a good cleaning and maybe some freshening up with paint and a mirror for us shorter people. We loved petting the goats, and appreciate the park has a hand washing station right next to that area. We were thoroughly entertained by the cougars as they prowled around waiting for a peacock snack, but thankfully it didn't actually occur. They are magnificent creatures to witness so closely. The eateries weren't open and the train wasn't running, but that's due to corona virus. We knew that going in after checking the website. The park was quiet and practically empty, which made viewing a lot more enjoyable for us!

We had a fun experience at the zoo. We only had an hour to make it through the zoo since they was closing down at 3:30 due to Boo in the Zoo. If we had known that we would of waited till 3:30 to go in so we would not had to be rushed out. Your ticket booth personals should inform customers. We got in at 2pm and was never informed about having to leave at 3:30 till a gentleman came up to us and said we needed to leave since they was having the Boo in the Zoo event. $56.00 for 3 people for an hour and a half. Other than that we enjoyed.

Not nearly as big as some of the other zoos I've been to, but it was still a pretty awesome experience. They had some animal exhibits like the Komodo dragon that I've never seen before and you actually able to get pretty close to the giraffes that they had. They also had a good little reptile exhibit and some of the like monkey exhibits and things like that were actually pretty educational and fun I do highly recommend going to this if you're in the area and it's really cheap for a zoo visit as well so that's always a plus.

Amazing little zoo. We got there as they opened the gates for a date. Coming early enhances the experience. You're one of the only people walking around, and many of the animals are still chowing down on breakfast. It was amazing sitting and watching these beautiful animals enjoy their food. Will definitely be coming again.

I have been planning my trip to Chattanooga for over a month I had previously called and asked questions but had to leave a voicemail and they did get back with me. They answered all my questions and were very informative. They are such a great price and have a great service. It is a smaller zoo but they make the most out of what they have. I enjoyed every minute of it. Will definitely be back.

A great zoo for young children. The merry go round and the train were a big hit along with the animals. It's small enough you can see everything in a couple hours and doesn't break the bank. We loved feeding the giraffe.

They need more options for buying a drink once you are towards the back of the park. Over at the petting zoo there's like 1 old and always sold out drink machine. And, you'll definitely be needing a drink as you're walking around. Zoo looks really good and I'm happy I got a membership this year, great time every time we go!

We love coming to this zoo. It may not be as big as others, but it's intimacy is what pulls us back. You get time to look at animals. You can see everything from different angles. The walk way is well planned and they continue to grow and add. We went before Giraffes were there. So much has been updated and changed. I recommend everyone check it out at least once.

First and foremost, I want to apologize @ChattanoogaZoo. I had very low expectations when coming here becuase of how small this zoo is compared to the Atlanta Zoo or Nashville Zoo. I even arrived right when they opened on a Monday morning while it was drizzling rain. It was my last stop before heading home before ending my Tennessee trip. But I tell you what, this zoo was 10x better than expected. So many varieties of animals and such an easy-walkable layout of the zoo. The staff was so nice and informative and the animals looked fantastic. @ChattanoogaZoo I am sorry I underestimated you. I'm very happy with my experience here. I'd even say that I actually liked this Zoo better then the Nashville Zoo. P.S. As a bonus, there were actually quite a few different varieties of cats they have here at this zoo. Which is awesome. The cats are my favorite! Check out my awesome photos!!!

We liked this zoo a lot! It's much smaller than our local zoo but it's really cute and has many animals that our bigger zoo doesn't have. We went on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. I love that they have goats you can pet and peacocks that walk around freely.

What a fun little zoo! My daughter and I had a blast walking around and looking at the animals. She loved the Red Pandas, the peacocks, and the goats. They had some really fun activities and a petting zoo! Also they give military service members free entry, that made me spend more money in the gift shop. Great experience! We will be back

It's a little zoo but it packs a punch. It only took us about 2 hours to walk the whole thing and they don't have many big animals like elephants and rhinos, but they have a lot of little cool monkeys and red pandas which were pretty unique. Ticket prices are also very reasonable compared to many of the other zoos we have visited at only $17.

We took a family outing to the zoo for kicks and giggles, and honestly, I enjoyed myself. It's a little smaller than other zoos I've been to, but don't let that take from your experience as everything is closer together, so there's more to take in. The staff was friendly and helpful and the area was kept clean. The kids had a blast at the petting barn and on the playground. Last but not least, the animals seemed to be well taken care of. I'd recommend for anyone just looking to have some fun as a group. 👍

We took our 17 month old grandson last Saturday and had a great time. He loves being outdoors and the park has plenty of shady trails to explore and animals to see. He especially loved the goats. It only takes a couple of hours to enjoy this perfectly sized park and the admission is very affordable. It is very clean, well maintained and beautiful.

It is a smaller zoo. Unfortunately, the only time I have gone, half the park was closed for trimming trees. In addition, the animal I specifically went to see (Fennec Fox) was away from its habitat. The zoo certainly has potential to be a fantastic little place, and I may revisit next year, but I would recommend calling and seeing if there is construction or animal closures. It is receiving four stars because I know it will most likely become a much better zoo soon.

It is a small, but very nice zoo. The exhibits are well done, look nice, and often provide multiple viewing opportunities. My son fed a giraffe, which was fun and worth the $5.

This is a smaller zoo. If you're expecting something huge with more enclosures, I wouldn't recommend it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this zoo. It's clean, well kept, and it's not expensive to get in. The food, drinks and gift shop are pretty expensive. If you're just wanting something to pass the time before the rest of your day starts, I highly recommend

This is a smaller zoo, but it is both charming and has the benefit of including plenty of exhibits that are indoors if you are faced with a drizzly day (ask me how I know!). Better yet, they offer wonderful merit badge courses for Boy Scouts - I drove 3 hours for my son to do his Environmental Science badge with them, and it was well worth it. We did great hands-on activities and ended the day with a meet-and-greet with an armadillo!

My friend and I went to the zoo for the second year in a row during the Asian Lantern Festival. This year it was bigger and better! Though the animals aren't really on display, the dozens of Asian and animal themed lanterns make it worth the trip. You may catch a glimpse of a few animals but most are sleeping or pulled off display for the night and the lights in exhibits are off. This year the pathway through the lanterns was better directed and there were more varied lanterns, and more Asian themed, like the Chinese Zodiac. There was also a pop-up dance display with a cellist that started at one area and moved through the zoo. The only disappointment was a small cup of hot chocolate for $6.50, which I did not get. The bathroom was also cold with a dirty, overflowing stall, which was blocked off. It is nice to see the zoo expanding and updating their exhibits to give their animals better room and care. I also like that they offer a lot of various activities outside of regular zoo admission and I've been to a few including the Lantern Festival and the Beastly Feast. Can't wait for the next exciting program!

This place has grown so much in the last decades. It was a parking lot at first. Now it has one if the most diverse groups of animals happily playing in custom made environments where they are easily observed without being disturbed. Top it off with one of the most successful breeding programs in the country and a culture centered around honoring animals and bringing endangered species back from the brink. This is a great way to spend three or four hours loving nature with people you love. Its Chattanooga's hidden gem.

This zoo has a lot to offer. Growing up here, I've always had fond memories of visiting this place through field trips. I am glad to see that as I have gotten older, the park has not been run down, but rather has had some improvements. Tickets are very well priced and since Covid-19, attendance has rather been low. I have been twice in a month with family and friends and we have not had to worry about getting to close to others. Sometimes it felt as if we had the park to ourselves. The Chattanooga Zoo has a lot to offer and is a must see if passing through the Chattanooga area!

Quaint zoo that is just the right size for a 2 hour visit with the little ones. Great petting zoo and adorable little monkeys. Just don't look for the staple zoo animals like elephants, zebras, lions, or bears. They are expanding soon!

We drove from Tampa, Florida to visit this zoo. We love animals and the red pandas made this trip even better. Overall it looks like a small zoo but it houses so many different types of animals. The zoo was clean and walkways were easy to maneuver. We left our masks on the entire time and had no problems walking around. If we lived closer we would definitely buy a membership to this zoo.

We went this past Monday for the first time. I've been wanting to go for quite awhile because I had heard it was a nice place. It's a small zoo but clean and the animals look well cared for. My granddaughters enjoyed it. The weather was great! There was hardly anyone there so that made it even better! We had to wear masks indoors but it wasn't a problem.

  • 5/5 Tyler H. 3 years ago on Google
Fun afternoon with my family. Our 10 month old really loved the new giraffes! My personal favorite are the two snow leopards, but we all enjoyed the giraffes! It's not as big as some other zoos I've been to, but it has grown over the years and looks to be expanding in the future as well. That being said, it's very well kept and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Not a lot of people were there either during the middle of the week which was nice. The zoo backs right up to the rail roads that go through Chattanooga. We noticed some noise from trains rolling through, but it really wasn't as loud as you might think, and wasn't an issue for us. Definitely recommend!

Great little zoo. Nice thing about its size is that our almost 4 year old walked the whole thing themselves. If a member the kiddy train outside is only $2 a kid, which is a great way to get the kids to follow you out if they don't want to leave. Animals were lively over all and you could tell staff enjoyed what they did. Though I've been to much bigger zoos it was a good 2 hour walk with lots of benches throughout.

We absolutely love this zoo. It's the perfect size to visit for 2-3 hours and be able to see everything without getting overwhelmed or exhausted. We had a group of seven - 4 adults and 3 kids with one adult on a mobility scooter. We arrived a little before 10 AM, and it was still a little cool outside. Some of the animals at the very beginning weren't out yet, but we went back before we left to see them. There were also several buses with elementary-age kids on field trips, but it wasn't overly crowded at all. Everything except the building in the Himalayan Passage was accessible for the mobility scooter. You can see all the same animals from the ground without going up the stairs. The mobility scooter was even able to go into the petting yard to see the goats. Everything was very clean, and the animals were extremely active. They were working on cleaning and setting up several of the exhibits as we went through. Many of the animals were eating while we were there which made for an even better experience.

Very nice small zoo. They have a few animals that are instinct. Park was clean and employees were kind. I like the up close encounters. Perfect for a half day visit. Train ride goes through park if you have trouble walking. You can feed giraffes here also.😁

It's a small zoo but very affordable and a great outing for the family. It will take you 2-3 hours to get through the zoo. Plan your trip ahead, buy tickets online, and the website will tell you specific events for that day. Take your friends and family and have a great time. Excellent place to learn, have fun, feed the giraffes, and have your map stolen and eaten by a goat all in one day. ENJOY!!!

Small, but fun zoo that has a great variety of animals and zookeepers who always seem willing to talk about their animals. Definitely worth a visit if you are planning a day or a weekend in Chattanooga and are looking for a family activity. They also have many special programs at the zoo, including evening events for adults.

We enjoyed our day here for my son's 3rd grade field trip! The staff was friendly. All the animals seemed to have very clean areas. I will say that the food vendor prices are a bit to high for a place for children.

Nice smaller zoo to visit. Very well taken care of and the people that work there are really nice. Not as big as the zoo over in Memphis but it was nice to be in a zoo that wasn't overly crowded. There's also a restaurant there that's really good. We're glad we didn't pay for the train ride because it's just this tiny fake train that drives around the zoo. The cars aren't really made for anyone over 12 years old to fit in.

Absolutely worth visiting. It's conveniently accessible and ideal for organizing a small event during the day. The giraffes, naturally, steal the show as the main attraction. Personally, I was particularly captivated by the diverse array of primates.

With all the lights the place was gorgeous. Of course most of the animals were asleep but we went for the Asian festival. The prices of the gift shop were very reasonable. It was not hard for me being great. Grandma had no problems getting around. Plenty of places to sit down when needed. The great grandkids loved it. They love to swings. Had a ball.

Lots of friendly animals. But all the enclosures are small. And only one Red Panda (for having boasting about their red panda population, this was disappointing). But a clean facility and I am very thankful for the homeschool student discount. Without that I would not have gone.

Great zoo. It is very walkable. There are plenty of animals and viewing areas for them. Plus, it is very affordable. We went in October, and they had great decorations.
