My
recent
stay
at
Aloft
Buffalo
Airport
was
my
second
experience
with
the
Aloft
chain,
and
regrettably,
it
mirrored
my
first
encounter,
leaving
much
to
be
desired.
Let's
start
with
the
staff.
Their
demeanor
was
noticeably
stoic,
and
it
felt
like
pulling
teeth
to
engage
in
a
conversation
with
them.
Hospitality
should
involve
a
warm
welcome
and
a
willingness
to
assist,
but
unfortunately,
this
was
lacking.
A
little
friendliness
and
attentiveness
could
go
a
long
way.
Simple
things,
like,
"Hello.
Welcome
to
the
Aloft
Hotel.
Checking
in?"
Is
that
so
challenging?
The
cleanliness
of
the
rooms
met
expectations,
which
is
a
positive
note.
However,
the
room's
design
left
much
to
be
desired.
An
oversized
and
understuffed
beanbag
seemed
like
an
odd
choice,
and
it
left
the
room
feeling
cluttered
rather
than
comfortable.
The
entire
hotel
feels
like
it
was
designed
by
20-somethings
who
do
little
more
than
grunt,
never
take
out
their
earbuds,
or
look
up
from
their
mobile
screens.
On
the
plus
side,
the
hotel's
proximity
to
the
airport
and
the
reliable
shuttle
service
were
convenient.
It's
worth
noting
that
the
quiet
atmosphere,
despite
the
closeness
to
the
airport,
was
a
definite
plus.
Overall,
my
experience
at
Aloft
Buffalo
Airport
felt
lacking
in
the
warmth
and
service
one
expects
from
a
Marriott
Bonvoy
property.
While
it
serves
its
purpose
for
proximity
to
the
airport,
it
lacks
the
charm
and
service
that
would
make
me
want
to
return.
