The service is actually not too bad, we were seated after a bit of wait, the pub wasn't busy, friendly staffs. The food is very average, I would say you'd do better off going to a weatherspones. The price is high for what it is, most likely because of the location being so close to Bicester Village. If you like your pub food, then go somewhere else.

The beer here was okay, but the service was indifferent with the staff too busy messing about behind the bar to pay attention to their customers. As a family group we ordered a large number of meals, most of which were overcooked; burnt sausages on the all day brunches, lasagne burnt onto the bottom of the dish, what fish there was inside the burnt batter was dry, mushy micro scampi nuggets. The attached photo shows the few chips and the laughable amount of dry, hard, peas served up. We complained and were given a small enamel dish of again, dry, hard, peas to top up two plates. Poor value for what you pay. Additionally, the gents toilets were filthy with dirt on the walls, a build up of bacteria and dirt in the urinals and an ever increasing stench as time wore on. Avoid.

Good value for money, unlike those restaurants in Bicester village which charge a premium price. If you drive into the restaurant car park, remember to register your car in the bar/counter.

I visited today with my son and friends. There were five of us in the group. We were greeted with a smile, explained about track & trace and the requirements relating to Covid-19. We ordered our food & drinks which arrived shortly afterwards. All staff we spoke to where professional and friendly. The food was delicious. Thank you.

Oh, a super place to have a meal during your shopping spree. At 1pm all of the restaurants at bicester were lining up with tired and hungry shoppers. We had a choice of heading across the road to burger king and was in our way when we found a pretty hut 🛖 in the corner of our eye. Gold! We called and found out there was space and had a lovely lunch in the spacious pub next to a group of very happy regulars. Service is great, portions big. We ordered a 2x pub lunch for a good deal sth like £14, forget the exact amount. The menu was huge and we were interested in many of the choices. I had the baked chicken while she had good old fashioned fish and chips. The environment was relaxing and spacious enough for us to house our POW from shopping. I think we will head straight here next time. And we will definitely go to bicester village again next time we visit London.

Absolute rubbish waited over 1 and a half hours and no food, even though we asked and asked. Others got served. Was it to do with the colour of our skin,?

Absolutely delicious sharing platter. The main meal of scampi and chips was not quite as good. The only negative was that the tables were quite sticky as if not cleaned properly.

Wow! We came for our breakfast and it was a fantastic experience, the food was delicious and fresh. Tom, you are a top chef :). The staff are brilliant, so friendly and welcoming. Our little girl took a real liking to Callum and he was amazing with her, even sat for a little chat :) Thank you :)

Tonight on 16th of January 2022 , we visited your establishment . We had a wonderful time in which we enjoyed the amazing dishes which were delightfull. We were served by a wonderful gentleman called Harrison. He was a true example of a young character who showed example how a waiter should be . The overall experience it's a showcase of a true English experience.

Very busy on arrival, so we had to wait for several minutes before the host greeted us and sat us down. Managed to order our food pretty quickly considering how busy it was. But it took almost an hour before our food arrived. It was worth the wait, as the lamb shank was cooked perfectly, really nice and tender, full of flavour and the meat was really lean, hardly any fat on it. Reasonable price too at £12.99 Sunday roast - Lamb Shank Served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese, sausage meat stuffing, a pub-baked Yorkshire pudding and rich gravy

The foot was appalling. The chips only just cooked. The onion rings soaked in oil and the burger overcooked. Staff rushed off the feet due to restriction and trying their best. Only reason for two stars and not one.

Average service. Took over an hour to get our mains. The Lamb Shank tasted like wet grass, the texture was off. You could tell it had been in the cold room for a while. The Beef Topside was rubbery and chewy, pretty sure it sat next to the Lamb in the same cold room for a few weeks prior. The peas and potatoes were bland, the cauliflower cheese was runny and also bland. Please do not get the Sunday roast, it's not worth it and we left thoroughly dissapointed. I feel emotionally disturbed by how average it was.

Great food and excellent service. We had three of the sandwich deals, all were delicious only slight downside was that one side of the toasted sandwich was a bit overdone but it didn't spoil the taste. The other had the duo of seafood which was great. Staff were friendly, particularly Brandon who looked after one of party who has health issues whilst the others continued to shop. Staff went above and beyond to look after her which was much appreciated. Will definitely come again when we next visit.

We were placed at a table near the toilets and the smell was so off-putting, it stank of wee. One of us ordered a pizza and I honestly don't even know how it left the kitchen looking the way it did. The dough was uncooked it was soaked with oil and the crust was all ripped up, we asked to send it back and the waitress didn't even apologise or anything she just took it and said she'd get a new one. When it arrived again it wasn't even a fresh pizza it was the exact same pizza they just reheated it and sent it back out about 15 minutes later. Very bad quality restaurant.

Ambience good. Food really tasty. Service like a tortoise. 45mins for a starter for sunday brunch at 2pm. 🤨🤨 Although was worth the wait so given ng 3 stars just to the chef and cleanliness ☺️

Very satisfying English breakfast - big(double) for a half price for two. Waiting was a bit longer, but staff was friendly and helpful. I was amaized of the luxury hot chocolate made by the spanish girl Emma. Never in my years in England I've been trying such a lovely rich flavoured drinks. Thank a lot ❣️

So my son and I turned up around lunchtime today. My son wasn't wearing a mask, so the bald headed arrogant guy at th desk said he couldn't come in unless he had one, which is fair enough, I said we could go to the car and get one. He then said in a very patronising tone ' or I can give you one for a pound'. He then asked if we have a reservation, I said no as we were just visiting. He answered very abruptly ' well you can't come in then ' He made us feel like he wanted us to basically F off. And he said 'im afraid, after every sentence. It was our first time in Bicester and what a negative experience. That man gave us the typical unfriendly British customer experience I've ever had . Well done for providing such an awful experience, just at your entrance !!!!!

The service was very slow. I had to go to the bar after 15 minutes. Ordered the all-day breakfast, the sausages were the worst I've ever, the rest of it was ok. My wife's sandwiche was ok.

Gorgeous place, friendly and attentive staff. Great value for money with the food as generous portions! I had a rump steak.. asked for medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Will be returning. Thankyou acorn team <3

Food was mediocre. Part of my chicken dish mean was microwaved, you could tell as the chef use the same dish to serve it on my plate. Barman was friendly and welcoming.

I wandered over to this Greene King Pub from the chaos of Bicester village as i wanted to sit and have a proper lunch. When I visited at about 2 pm, it was nice and quiet, and there was plenty of seating inside and out available. I chose scampi and chips, which was £9.49 and was nice and a sensible size portion. Decided to have desert and chose the Eton Mess, which was lovely 😍 Service was quick and friendly. The only downsides were that the coffee machine was apparently broken and the men's toilets smelled from a noticeable leak. It was definitely worth the 5 minute walk from Bicester Village 😁

I had the fish and chips. The fish was massive and lovely. The chips were nice. I rated the fish 9 out of 10, and the chips 6 out of ten were a bit cold, but overall, it was great 8.5 out of 10. I would also like to mention that the loos were lovely and clean. A big thanks to the man who let me keep a wooden spoon. Overall, it was a lovely experience ☺️ 😊

Popped in for lunch after an unsuccessful shopping trip to Bicester Village, husband had the Katsu curry and I had the fish and chips, unbelievable value as they were included in the two for £14.45 pub classics deal, daughter had the Beef and Ale pie with mash. We each whole heartedly agreed that the meals were excellent in both taste, quantity and quality, my fish was overhanging the plate. Staff were welcoming and professional. Would highly recommend.

Very good food, very friendly staff, no need to pay for parking, just enter your reg on the tablet on the bar. Only issue is that the cutlery seemed to be dirty, which was resolved by staff when raised.

Great food great staff - warm and friendly atmosphere- staff make you feel very at ease and at home, was only staying for dinner but food was so nice we stayed for dessert - rich and mark were always at hand for any help we needed and very accommodating. Was told it was the chefs first day but would never have known if we hadn't been told- compliments to the chef food was above 10 out of 10.

Beautiful cozy restaurant, delicious food with great prices (2 for the price of 1 mains) We didn’t have a reservation but they had a table for 2 The pub was clean and staff came past regularly to check if we needed anything. Just a quick walk across the road from Bicester Village.

I must say, this Pub is highly recommended to everyone visiting Bicester Village. The atmosphere is extremely warm and welcoming. Approximately 5mins walk from the shopping place. We came with two children who were accommodated with ease with high chair available. The food is cheap and delicious. We went for Steak and Ribs and we are so happy that we been to this restaurant rather than the overpriced restaurant in Bicester Village Shopping. Definitely must visit and have some food here. Oh, if you are bluelight holders, they do offer discount too.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I visited on the evening 03/10/23 and had a meal with my friend. The food, service, pricing and surroundings were all of a good standard. I received a parking fine today 04/12/23 (over 2 months since my visit) I’ve received the parking via Britannia Parking for £100! As per the signage I entered my registration on your computer/screen in the pub when I first ordered some drinks. I have tried to contact the Acorn directly, so far without success (but will keep trying) and have also appealed the fine so I’m hopeful the matter will be resolved.

Nice place for hanging out. The bar tender there is really an amazing character, I forget his name. Always smiling with good soul. 5 star for him alone. Unfortunately, 2 ladies there are not welcoming and not even smiling. The food is OK but unfortunately the bathroom smells and can reach to some of the nearby sitting area.

Absolutely perfect! Woke up hanging and managed to drag myself out for fresh air and ended up at the acorn for breakfast. Staff were extremely helpful and service was speedy. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and food was spot on. Thank you Acorn being exactly what I needed

Upon entering and being medically exempt from wearing a mask, the judgement laid on me by staff demanding to see a written legal exemption was insulting and incredibly triggering. I fully appreciate these are strange times at present and that any business can refuse access if they want to, however staff here made me feel guilty and singled out for having a legal and registered disability. It is not right for any business to make customers feel guilty for being disabled. A bit of politeness would have gone a long way. We walked out without even waiting to see what management said surrounding my exemptions.

On arrival we didn't feel welcomed, we booked a table that afternoon to arrive at 7.15, however they didn't seem to have the booking, the girl greeting customers said this happens all the time when you book on line and made me feel bad as it meant we were an inconvenience. My kids wanted to stay but to be honest I couldn't wait to leave. On a positive the food and waiter was good, just the girl on arrival who needs to brush up on her customer service.

  • 2/5 Janet W. 3 years ago on Google
The pub has really gone downhill since we visited last. Food took an age to arrive (simple sharer of nachos) and there was half of the ingredients missing. Service was so slow, quite possibly not the young men's faults, perhaps they were understaffed, however it didn't make for an enjoyable evening I'm sorry to say

One star for the service and staff and 3.5 for food, it was good pub food but the service and staff was rude, not attentive and just plain lazy! We got there without a booking and got seated on a table which had not been cleaned! Had to ask the waiter to clean it We ordered and didn’t receive the drinks for 20 mins at least until I had to get up and ask for my drinks and the excuse of the male staff me ever was ‘there’s a delay on the app so we don’t receive it straight away’ but somehow they knew we had ordered food because they brought us cutlery and sauce! When we received the food ‘I wish I took a picture’ there was no more than about 12 chips on my partners plate you could literally see the plate through the lack of chips it was quite funny I notified the waiter and he said very bluntly ‘that’s the spec’ I said yes but on my plate I have more chips than my partner he said ‘you pay more for sweet potatoes’. Firstly you pay more for sweet potatoes due to them being more expensive in comparison to normal potatoes so there should not be any difference in amount. When finished with my meal I stacked up the plates and sauce packets so it would be easier for the waiter to take them. When he came he took only the glasses. We got up to leave and I asked where the exit was and I completely forgot to pop my mask on to get up and leave and the waitress basically spoke to me like I was an absolute imbecile and said ‘sorry do you have a mask with you’ I put it on straight away and left. I’m not too sure what happened to the staff but it wasn’t a very nice experience due to they’re manners and behaviours but besides that the food wasn’t half bad but that’s about it!

While shopping in Bicester village, and lamenting the options available for food in Bicester village itself, we wondered over to this pub for lunch, initially only sue to its proximity, but we were pleasantly surprised. It offers standard pub grub fair, nothing too fancy but it certainly hit the spot (we had burgers). Special Covid measures followed perfectly and James was constantly seen sanitising and enforcing distancing throughout, and dealt with a nearby group that were being difficult perfectly and professionally.

Service was really good but the food let it down. Our sandwiches were very dry and felt as though the bread had been left out and not coverd and feel as though it was fresh that day.

Becoming a regular here with my girlfriend, good food choice, cheaply priced and well located next to Bicester Village shopping outlets. Only downside is paying for parking upon arrival however if you show the bar staff the receipt or phone text confirmation they deduct it from your bill

I’ve been here for couple of times and I really liked the place. Last day of “eat out to help out” so I went to have lunch in Acorn, social distancing is observed, one of the staff said the waiting time is about an hour but it just took half an hour which is good! The food was always nice. Parking space is available, not much but you can park in Bicester v and walk for 7-10 mins. Toilet is clean, there’s Garden table outside( if you’d like to enjoy the sun) the staff are very nice and helpful. After you eat you can always visit Bicester village. The pub is just 1hr and 45 mins drive from London
