Enjoyed a Spa day here with my sister. The treatments were the best I’ve ever had, felt super comfortable and came out feeling relaxed. The spa facilities could do with a bit of an upgrade, they are looking a little tired but this didn’t effect our enjoyment. Thank you!

I was given a spa break with dinner, an overnight stay and breakfast for my birthday. At £320 I feel my son paid over the odds. The hotel looks tired and shabby in places. The spa looks dated. When we called to see when we could use the spa we couldn’t get through to the spa reception. My son managed to speak to main reception who said we could check in at 3pm and the spa was available from midday. When we arrived we were told differently. The system was down so checking in took longer than normal. Our facials were good and the evening meal was lovely. The restaurant wasn’t very busy but my husband heard the bar man telling guests that it wasn’t open! When he told the barman we had a table booked that evening the barman had to check with reception. Communication seems poor. Our superior bed wasn’t very comfortable. Mattress must be quite old. When I took a shower I discovered the body wash dispenser was empty. Surely something that should be checked when preparing the rooms? All in all I found it to be overpriced and if booking a hotel stay or spa break wouldn’t choose this particular hotel.

Really disappointed, was told when I got there that they couldn't provide any treatments for people who are potentially pregnant or pregnant. Well they told me when I was already lying on the table half naked. Why didn't they ask when I booked instead of waiting for me to arrive and then sending me out, please publish this on your website to save us all time and messing around. GM seemed horrified when I told him on my way out. I have to say that historically I have really enjoyed my visits to the spa and hotel, however I will now not be joining as a member.

My girlfriend and I visited the spa earlier this week. It was on a weekday so it wasn’t busy at all. The pool is very nice and a good size. The jacuzzi was great as were the sauna and steam rooms. Everyone else was very respectful of each other and it wasn’t crowded in the slightest. Must say though, I was left slightly disappointed by the staff at the place. Firstly, the woman who welcomed us into the spa was very friendly and helpful but then afterwards the staff weren’t very useful or helpful. We wanted to use the hot tub outside and asked at reception but nobody seemed too bothered to get it open for us. Then at lunch, we went into the lunch hall in our robes (so it was obvious we were there using the spa) and sat down when one of the waitresses came over and said “can I help?” Quite abruptly. Made us feel like we weren’t welcome at all and were told that there was a specific table we had to sit on despite being told previously that we could sit where we wanted. Would recommend in terms of quietness and cleanliness but pretty bog standard facilities and staff not great.

My recent visit to the spa did not meet my expectations. Upon arrival, one of the women at the front desk was abrupt and lacked hospitality. Although the changing rooms were clean and well-maintained, the spa itself was average at best. The water temperature was not warm enough and the relaxation areas were far from relaxing. However, the hot shower was a highlight of the experience. The buffet lunch was surprisingly good, but it is important to note that drinks other than water come at an additional cost. While some of the staff members were pleasant, the majority did not even smile. In particular, the lady at the bar at noon was incredibly rude and condescending. Additionally, we received strange looks from other guests due to our modest attire. I have no plans to visit again and would definitely not recommend!

I had a one night stay here yesterday. The booking was seamless, had 2 requests and they both were met! (Early checkin and extra towels) the communication was on point. Upon arriving the professionalism from the receptionist was great! She was very welcoming and asking questions if I have visited before and how we can make a better stay for me. It was very lovely to see, hear and experience. I had booked the Super deluxe room and it was brilliant! Clean, spacious and good view to the garden. I ate at the restaurant - lunch and dinner and both tasted fresh, hot and a good feeling. The staff there was very friendly and welcoming. SPA - I had booked a 2hr treatment which consisted of a full body exfoliation, a full body massage and a collagen facial! My therapist “Pheobe” was outstanding, to be honest! She was very clued up with the products when I asked.. (many questions! Lol) gave great advice, professional, friendly and humorous.. being a Londoner this spa is very much top of my list! And will be coming back again. This place DID make me feel, relaxed, rejuvenated and fresh.. The only, only thing I would advice them is to change the music in the spa area. The type of music was the same throughout. (Your therapist saved it and distracted me with her positive interaction) If you are reading please update to a more modern chilled Type music as, more ppl like me will visit you and will return repeatedly!!

An absolutely disappointing experience. I arrived at the hotel around 13.00 where I made a reservation for myself and my fiancée, where I could benefit from the services of the gym, spa plus a meal included. We were not told that the meal must be taken before 13.30!!! The moment we said we didn't want to eat before going to the gym or spa, we were treated in an absolutely disgusting way.  We really felt like impostors!  I asked for a solution because it is a hotel, we can find a way, and I had already paid for the services. The answer was short, "is not possible" I asked for a refound, and to give up their services, the same answer "is not possible, I'm not gonna give you a refund" After several attempts to find a solution we were able to receive a meal from which we had a £ 15 discount. With a little goodwill from the staff the scene would have been avoided and we would have spent the day in an absolutely wonderful way. Of course, after all the absolutely disappointing experience, the day was compromised and we could not enjoy it. Another aspect, my fiancée reserved for the manicure gel, believing that the services of a hotel are good.  When she saw how it that person works, she did not want to finish because it was not the services he expected, she had to pay anyway, for absolutely nothing. Very disappointed customers service!!!! Never again!

AVOID IF YOU HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY. My wife is allergic to gluten and will be violently sick if she has any gluten. I gave notice of this to the spa twice before arriving - we had booked a spa day with a two course lunch. Firstly, I was surprised that a “two course lunch” actually meant a buffet-style lunch that felt a lot like school dinners. There were no labels to identify what the food was, let alone the allergens. When my wife said that she cannot eat gluten, she was told to “take the salmon off the top of the noodles” - this would result in serious cross-contamination and would have made her extremely ill. This left her with the option of plain vegetables and no dessert for lunch. Thankfully, another staff member was able to get her some food from the bar menu which was correctly labelled. I have serious concerns about the way allergens are being handled in the spa restaurant and I know that we were not the only ones to struggle on this day. I wanted to give the review a lower score purely because of how shocked we were at the quality of food and lack of understanding of key allergens, but we had a great day apart from the food. Please, moving forward, ensure you cater better for your guests with allergens and label your meals.

We booked a spa day and enjoyed the experience. Good range of pools and jacuzzis and although it was busy, we were able to use all of the facilities we wanted to use. The included buffet lunch was good, the interior of the restaurant area could do with upgrading but the food was good for a spa buffet option. Soft drinks could be bought from the main hotel bar. We were using the outdoor area when we were approached by staff and abruptly told we couldn’t use the outdoor hot tub area as we hadn’t been given a wristband to show we were on a spa day. It would have been better for the staff to ask the question first before telling us to leave and then saying we should be wearing a wristband, as if we should have known. A couple of minor points … It would be nice to have a coffee machine instead of the instant coffee sachets in the spa area. The dessert options included with the buffet lunch for someone with a nut allergy weren’t great. The dessert option was Carrot cake or chocolate cake, we were told the carrot cake contained nuts but both cakes had the same serving utensils so neither cake was an option due to cross contamination.

Just wanted to write in a rebuff of what the person below/today wrote re spa staff! I visited recently, with a view to joining, as a member, which I intend to do, as soon as I move into the area- the staff were extremely accommodating, and welcoming.

Clean room and spa. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a meal in the restaurant too, which was very nice. Breakfast was tasty in the morning too, and the staff were very friendly. We’re planning on going back sometime in the future.

A great hotel, very clean and pleasant. Great service from the team. Especially enjoyed my interaction with the manager (Tyrone) who has more than helpful and friendly. Well done guys!

The hotel doesn’t deserve 4 stars due the following reasons : They don’t have anyone to help you with the luggage. The worst breakfast I’ve ever seen in my life. The breakfast room is not 4 stars hotel Dirty towels. Dirty rooms and bathroom. Broken old furniture Spiders in room Dinner table and chairs are not 4 stars hotel I wanted to checkout the second day at 10 am but they refused so I was forced to stay one more night

Meet my sister there today, for afternoon tea and it was very disappointing. The lady serving us was very unhelpful, we were booked for 2.30pm she didn’t listen to our drinks orders we had to repeat ourselves a number of times. Then she became frustrated with us as we asked for another bottle of water. After 45 mins we final got our food! The sandwiches were dry, the cakes looked nice but some were still frozen in the middle. No one came to check on us or asked if we wanted more drinks. We finally had a lovely girl Emilie who must of just started her shift came and ask if we needed everything. The only pleasant member of staff we had received throughout our time. Definitely will not be recommending

We got married here under the just for two package and wow it was amazing! The staff went above and beyond, the grounds were absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Special thanks to Janine& Elisha who took the best photos for us and we’re also our witnesses. and the two gentlemen (don’t know names sorry) that gave us great service during our private dinner for two and our afternoon tea. Big thank you again

A great stay at the hotel offered us a lovely room with plenty of amenities, daily room care, free parking and breakfast included, with a real heritage feel to the premises. Let down slightly by a bartender who was quite rude and passive towards us when we came back to order drinks!

  • 5/5 Sharon F. 4 months ago on Google
The 2 stars is not a reflection of the room but the drainage issues and our need to keep being moved. We were in the accessible rooms and had to move 3 times due to drainage issues. However staff were amazing 👏 🤩 and could not be more helpful. The hotel staff and spa were fab and food was amazing x

Went for a spa break. Beware you can't book classes until the day,and then spaces very limited,so we were very disappointed with this, weren't made aware until we arrived. Luckily we managed to get into a couple of yoga classes, but only after we complained. Watch out for kids swim time,it's horrible and very loud!! The breakfast was ok,could have been warmer, however the evening meals were very good indeed, and service great. Ideal spot for two friends to meet up as half way. Didn't use the gym but facilities and location looked great.

Performance centre is well equipped, spacious and there are always staff on hand to help. Main gym is also airy, open and have great availability on kit. Fairly priced.

This is the second time we stayed here, the prices have gone up a lot and the service gone down down even more. Carpet wasn't clean, at breakfast the toast took an age - the breakfast was a disaster. Won't stay again.

Never been here before but my Daughter in law and Son are staying here for 2nights, and invited his mum and I to meet up for a meal in the evening. Really superb surroundings and grounds obviously for a Golf course, the hotel looks very comfortable, we chose not to dine in the restaurant but settled in the bar by a large window with a view of the pond and the fountain. The menu we opted for was all extremely good and freshly cooked and delicious, and very pleasant in nice company and relaxed surroundings we shall hopefully look forward to return.

We had a nice experience at this hotel. Only giving one less star because we didn’t get the room we specifically asked for at time of booking and we’re also confirmed by booking person that we will get that room. Daughter was little disappointed because we booked junior suite on first floor which has a balcony. She took her telescope to see the stars but on arrival we were told that we can’t get that room as someone was already there. We were given ground floor room which has patio with not such a great view. Otherwise room was very nice and staff was very friendly too.

What can I say what a wonderful 2 nights we had. The facilities at the hotel are 2nd to none the gym is One of the best I have been to. The pool and the spa area are lovely. The pool is lovely to swim in. The breakfast in the morning is very good. I'd like to say a special thanks to Richard the manager For going the extra mile to help us out and make us feel welcome - great customer service. Also special thanks to Max who gave me one of the best massages I've ever had in the spa. Also Lauren on reception for recommending such lovely restaurants and for always greeting us with a smile and making us feel welcome. And also Valeria the waitress she was away so friendly . Thanks to everyone - and not forgetting Kash the barman!

I booked a spa day for my birthday and left after about an hour. We were disappointed with our welcome and the cleanliness of the spa was awful. There was a lot of mould in the main pool area all along the bottom of the walls, the windows were filthy which really spoilt what would have been a lovely view of the golf course. There weren’t enough loungers and even they felt unclean. The water in the garden spa room was old and the water wouldn’t run out properly. There was no tea or coffee and you had to go to the bar to get your one complimentary tea/coffee which meant being in your robe in a bar full of golfers. We weren’t shown around just had to find out where things were and the sauna wasn’t on outside and the hot tub was covered up and when we looked inside it had loads of bits in. The relaxation room was freezing cold and not relaxing. After telling a member of staff we were leaving we were offered no refund or anything, we received a phone call in which we told The woman why we went and she said she’d speak to her manager about refund etc but never received a call back. Everything just seemed a bit old and worn out and it all just needs a good clean. Overall a really disappointing experience after travelling a good hour to get there. We were put off by a buffet lunch which you couldn’t choose so didn’t even stay for that or our treatments. Wouldn’t recommend.

Just come back from a 2 night break with a group of Friends. Well I can’t recommend this place enough the place was amazing the food was just out of this world, all staff from reception, housekeeping, spa reception and therapists just all so lovely, big shout out to the restaurant and bar staff who were just amazing and went out of their way to make you feel well looked after. Name drop Jess and Emily how you put up with our crew you both need a medal, but what amazing women you are, you both will go far in whatever you wish to achieve 💕

Had a lovely day at the Spa. I have visited before and was happy to return. We had some lovely treatments and the spa facilities are nice - especially the garden. We had to get water and tea and coffee facilities restocked a few times as this wasn't kept on top of but wasn't a problem. The meal included with the spa day wasn't quite what we expected - buffet style but only 2 options!? It did taste nice though. We couldn't use the outdoor swim lake as water was low, it's a long walk from the Spa too which wasn't clear on the website, don't expect to be walking there in your slippers. The lockers are an absolute nightmare, was locked out everytime I opened it, but the staff were lovely and very helpful.

This was a one night stay to break a long journey. The hotel was attractive, clean and pleasant. My room was was well equipped and comfortable. The service was good throughout my stay. The food, however, was deeply disappointing. I chose what appeared to be the safest dish on the menu, Seared salmon. The meagre salmon fillet, skin on, might have been seared initially, but it was then cooked to destruction before being carefully plated on a carefully shaped, equally meagre portion of mash. I may stay at the hotel again, if it's convenient, but I will avoid the restaurant.

I came here on business to stay close by for a couple of nights. I have to say what a wonderful stay I had to be honest. The room was cosy and clean. The surroundings are beautiful and the staff were all lovely to me. I enjoyed eating in their Gray's restaurant and also the bar food. Both meals were absolutely lovely and service really quick. Breakfast buffet style was also really lovely. I suffer quite bad anxiety and was feeling anxious at navigating around and using the facilities by myself. A couple of members of staff were especially friendly which really made a difference. Bit sad I didn't get their names. The lady on the reception in the spa was so reassuring, I managed to go for a swim because she had been so lovely and encouraging and felt so amazing after I managed it despite my anxiety.
