Haddock batter was hard and very oily. Just fell right off the fish. Chips also very greasy, left a pool on my plate. Mushy peas were nice and fish cake also quite pleasant despite the unusual shape! Nothing special but not awful if you want something last minute.

We had to live without appliances for 2 weeks when we moved into our new home. We came here almost every night! The food is great. There’s a good selection to choose from. Everyone makes you feel welcome when you walk in the door. They’re very helpful and great with suggestions. Before we moved here we would visit and go home to the US and tell our friends about the amazing BBQ pizza we had at Off The Hook and how we couldn’t find anything that was close to comparable.

Amazing fish and chips. So tasty and perfectly cooked. Staff is so much friendly and talk to customers with a big smile. Food is freshly cooked in front your eyes. Highly recommend to everyone who wants great quality fish and chips for a decent price.

Food was lovely nothing wrong with that aspect of this place but the delivery driving was absolutely disgusting. I get anxious with getting my food as I have bad social anxiety so I normally have someone with me. I work in a place with bad mobile service so I normally listen out to the car or we have a big doorbell on the door which they can use which is very obvious I also work for a company that does medical research for cancer etc so I can’t just sit outside and wait for the delivery(which he told me I should of done). The delivery driver wasn’t even at the right door for a start then he reversed to us when we finally got downstairs as my work building is quite big and takes awhile to get down to the main doors and straight away he got aggy with me being very patronising asking me why I took so long and he has been ringing me etc. I was nice and said I’m so sorry we don’t have very good service but he kept repeating the question and wouldn’t let me leave without answering him with a better response. The guy I was with said something as I started to raise my voice from frustration as I hate people having a go at me for no reason. He backed down a bit which made it seem like he was targeting me as I was easier to have a go at as I’m a woman. He finally drove off at speed and we shouted at him while he drove off and he tried to reverse to get the final word but drove off as we were walking towards him. I rang the place up and they were so sweet and apologetic and I don’t have a bad word to say to them but I hope he doesn’t do it to someone else and that he got a bad warning from the restaurant…

just recently moved to kidlington and was looking for a good local fish and chip shop and this place is genuinely fab ,quick service,lovley staff and most of all lovley food . i 100% recommend they also offer pick up orders and delivery!

Off the Hook is by far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The staff are all incredibly kind and the food is consistently great!
