I love the Joule's pub chain. Very small but perfectly formed. Great beer. Flat first came here about 43 years ago when it was a medicore Whitbresd (?) pub. Since Joules took over it has been a great pub. Small sun trap patio to front. Lovely interior. Great real ale. Pies sold for scoobies..bit microwaved but tasty. Ic n Flic loved their beer.

Great beer in here last night. However get here for their tapas. It's a delight, superbly served and presented with a wide range of contemporary flavours and tastes.

Honestly the most welcoming pub in Chester! Lovely surroundings , spotlessly clean with staff that really care about their customers. Absolutely the best Sunday roast dinner cooked fresh 😋 can't recommend it enough ! THANKYOU!

A friendly pub serving Joules beers on cask and keg. The barman even brought me over a healthy taster of their chocolate corker.

Cracking joules pub near the river Dee in Chester. Serves a wide range of joules ale and fitted out as you’d expect. Joules brewery usually do a cracking job of keeping original features of the buildings. Nice atmosphere. Enjoyable pint 🍻

The most beautiful old Joules pub. Gorgeous wooden panels inside, cosy feel, stained glass windows - attached a pic of my favourite one. The staff in there are always so welcoming and fun!

Served by the lovely Scouse Sophie. She told me it was the best Guinness in Chester. And I can’t complain. Top 5 in Chester definitely 👍

The Cross Keys is a lovely characterful pub with a great selection of ales. Being near the bottom of Lower Bridge Street it escapes the hordes!

Fantastic range of ales and wine at reasonable prices. I love this pub because it is a super chilled and a relaxing place to be. If I had my way I would sit in here all day 😂 but home beckons after a few pints 🙄

Quite possibly the best pub in Chester. Their Sunday lunch is one of the best in the area having tried many in and around Chester, full of flavour, excellent value and even nicer when complimented with the joules beers available. Highly recommended for Sunday lunch or just for beer.

Pretty and comfortable traditional pub with excellent beer and Rosie's Pig cider is fantastic. Staff are nice, music is good and it does the best Sunday roast in Chester. Our regular.

Decent pub, never eaten here but the drinks are priced fairly. Good atmosphere as all pubs should be. Nice traditional decor, well kept. Recommend as part of our usual pub crawl!

Lovely old type of pub, with plenty of real ales and good selection of other drinks. They also do food at a reasonable price. I can't comment though as I didn't eat there.

Really enjoyed our visit, friendly service, and friendly atmosphere with great beers. We did not eat there but it looked very good. Will return next time we are in Chester. Nice to find a 'proper' pub.

Says this pub is dog friendly but landlord doesn't agree with policy. Poor service at bar as staff mote interested in their relationship

I love this pub - they are friendly, accommodating, atmosphere is fantastic and landlords are so welcoming. Best thing about the pub though is that they are dog friendly! 🐶

We held a charity event at the upstairs room at The Cross Keys at the weekend in support of The Brain Tumour Charity. We had such a warm welcome and were really well looked after. Great venue, Jane was really flexible and I would definitely recommend it. We will be returning when we organise our next one!

Irish trad nights 2nd and 4th Weds of the month 7.30 pm. Very enjoyable evening. Nice traditional pub. Believe opening times are 4pm. I think closed Monday and Tuesday (best check before visiting) Sunday 1 to 7 pm.

A city centre pub that obviously serves as a cherished local for the residents who live inside the walls by the river. Excellent beer from one the oldest breweries in the country. Traditional decoration and good friendly service.
