My
wife
and
I
stayed
at
the
Travelodge
Chester
Central
Bridge
Street
in
last
week
of
November
and
we
were
extremely
disappointed
with
this
property.
We
were
in
Chester
for
a
family
funeral
and
several
of
my
preferred
hotels
did
not
have
the
required
dates
available.
This
Travelodge
came
up
on
a
Google
search;
rates
looked
good
and
it
had
good
reviews.
I
can
only
guess
the
reviewers
giving
this
place
5
stars
have
low
expectations.
The
room
we
were
given
was
spartan
at
best;
it
reminded
me
of
the
interior
of
a
shipping
container
with
a
double
bed
and
two
single
beds
all
crammed
in.
There
was
a
small
bare-bones
desk
without
any
USB
ports,
no
closet,
a
small
shelf
with
a
couple
of
hangers
beneath
it,
no
bedside
tables,
no
bedside
lights,
just
small
shelves
jutting
out
of
the
wall
on
either
side
of
the
bed.
There
is
no
place
to
put
your
cases
other
than
the
floor.
Carpet
was
stained;
duvet
cover
on
the
bed
also
had
visible
stains.
Bathroom
appeared
clean
but
no
toiletries
are
provided.
A
soap
dispenser
is
mounted
on
the
wall
next
to
the
sink
and
it
drips
soap
all
over
the
floor.
The
shower
also
had
a
soap
dispenser
mounted
on
the
wall
that
was
labelled
as
“shampoo
and
body
wash.”
The
contents
however
had
more
in
common
with
watered-down
dish
soap.
The
room
had
three
towels
and
no
bath
mat.
The
hotel’s
wifi
policy
is
an
insult
to
modern-day
travellers.
The
hotel
gives
you
30
minutes
of
free
wifi
every
24
hours.
So
if
you
access
free
wifi
at
9
pm,
you
can’t
access
it
again
until
after
9:30
pm
the
following
day.
Otherwise,
you
have
to
pay
extra
for
wifi
but
you
are
limited
to
two
devices
for
each
paid
account.
If
you
pay
for
wifi
and
try
to
log
on
with
a
third
device,
the
system
remembers
that
device
and
permanently
locks
it
out,
so
you
cannot
access
wifi
with
that
device
even
if
you
want
to
pay
for
it.
Our
room
cards
kept
deactivating
–
and
no,
they
were
not
kept
near
our
phones
–
and
it
became
a
daily
routine
to
go
to
the
front
desk
to
have
the
room
cards
reactivated.
The
hotel
has
a
small
café
that
offers
breakfast,
again
if
you
pay
for
it
in
advance.
Food
was
okay
but
the
entire
time
we
were
there
the
coffee
machine
was
broken.
About
the
only
positive
thing
I
can
say
about
this
property
is
the
rooms
were
quiet
and
the
location
in
downtown
Chester
is
convenient.
This
is
a
bare-bones
budget
hotel;
one
step
above
a
hostel.
There
are
much
better
options
in
Chester.
