Alexandra Lodge Guest House

Guest house Serviced accommodation

👍👍 Great location, 10 minutes walk from the train station. Some good restaurants and local amenities within 2 minutes walk. The guest house itself is very clean and the bed was soft. I would definitely book the room again. People often mention clean, room, Chester, guest, house, recommend, lovely,

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Booked a double room for me and my wife. The service was excellent. On the evening prior to leaving I missed a phonecall from the owner wishing us all the best with the baby (my wife is pregnant!) and to say thank you for being a guest and she hoped we got to do everything we had planned. That was a very nice and thoughtful touch, I thought. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back.

Very clean and convenient to the city. Owner was very friendly. Our room was smaller than optimal.

This is a fantastic guest house. Very well maintained and spruced every day by the owner (Gill), who is a lovely lady. She is very meticulous and cleans every room daily. The house is situated in an ideal area with access to everything you can need, all within minutes from the home. Restaurants, cafes, local parks, Chester train station, and Chester town centre, which is a must visit with its quaint tuder buildings and plenty of walkways and small garen stop spots to sit and relax. The rooms are very clean with new furnishings, modern sinks and dressing mirror. Nice clean carpeting throughout the guest house. Modern smart TVs and comfortable beds. There is a microwave and fridge to use, too. There are several shower rooms to use, and depending upon the room, there are en suite showers. There is a local laundrette about 5 minutes away, which is very reasonably priced. There are also some gyms nearby if required. It is a better stay than some of the other guest houses in the area, which are more business orientated. Whilst Alexandra guest house is run by a lady with years of experience who is conscientious and looks after everything properly. It is also better priced than most. If visiting Chester, it makes touring a breeze whilst staying in a nice residential area.

Gorgeous little guesthouse, my room was bright and cheerful, Gillian is a lovely, friendly host and the room and bathroom was absolutely spotless...immaculately clean! Super comfy bed and once the windows are closed, wonderful and quiet even though next to a very busy road. I would highly recommend staying here and if you like dogs, you may be just lucky enough to get the chance to see Daisy...she's worth 5stars alone! 😊

Used as a base for a long weekend in Chester. Only about 15 mins walk into town. Bedroom & ensuite only but plenty of places nearby for breakfast. Thanks Gill & Hilary.

Only a short distance to walk into Chester city centre , means you can park your vehicle nearby and no hassle of trying to find a car park in the town and paying to park (which can be expensive)

Room was suitable for one person. Bed felt comfortable, didn't feel quite firm. Towels provided for shower, bathroom shelf not secured in place properly as I began to place my toiletries bag on it. (As pictured). Kettle okay for pouring tea. Suggest using a kettle with a plinth, as an alternative to a plug-in kettle. Only one biscuit provided for tea/coffee. Shower works efficiently. No place to safely return the door key after checking out. Overall, a good stay. ⭐⭐⭐

Location not bad for a weekend. It would attract more people if there was a nice welcome. Impression given was they did not have time for the customer .
