City center of Chester was amazing. Buildings were restored and maintained perfectly. People are extra courteous and warm. Enjoyed our stay.

The Cross is the centre of Chester or just off it at least. It is where all four of it's roads meet at St Peter's Church. It is the heart of Chester, with lots of coffee shops and bars with great food, so you can soak up the atmosphere and people watch. There is always a procession, parade or a busker to listen to. Life and shops in Chester have history, incredible pieces and a lot of characters, including the odd roman about.

We spent an hour here during our visit to Chester listening to two wonderful singers. There is often some kind of entertainment, mostly musical...a Scottish piper from the Borders, a violinist, and today two very fine male singers. It made our day. Chester is just the most complete city, in my view, in the UK. It has everything.

Lot of closed down shops. A lot of great art galleries. Some nice independent shops but also a lot of high street stores. Plenty of options for food and dining. A lot of loud potty mouthed plonkers and mutton dressed up as lamb hanging around before and after the races. Which is a pity as atmosphere changes negatively for the shorttime they are around. Especially in the evenings.

The cross marks the approximate centre of the original city of Chester. The area is surrounded with the famous rows shopping streets - many in historic Tudor style buildings.

Beautiful city with amazing old buildings. Some go back to 1600's. Worth a visit if you're in the north west.

Wow, more jewellers than you can hope for. So lots of competition. Nice to shop at lots of independent jewellers rather than just a high street. Also love the wooden walkways undercover sections. Also well worth a walk around the walls before going in for a shopping session. Some parts of town near the bus station can be a bit rougher than the other side.

A staggered crossroads land mark in the city center where streets meet (Watergate Street, Eastgate Street, Bridge Street and Northgate Street) The centrepiece of Chester Cross is the GradeĀ IIĀ listed buildingĀ Chester High Cross, aĀ medievalĀ cross. Great Central meeting place.

Chester Cross is the junction of four streets back from Roman times. Itā€™s a picturesque area architecturally more generally, but not much to see otherwise.

Fantastic place to soak up the atmosphere in Chester shopping street. Lots of quaint eating, drinking, & boutique shops. Street buskers with great voices, sit, relax, & enjoy!

Chester Cross is a large attractive Stone Cross in the center of Chester's the rows shopping area. Often a popular area for buskers pavement artists and Street Preachers. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby definitely an area worth visiting.
