If I could put a negative score, I would! On a visit to Chester on Monday, my elderly Mum went in H Samuel's to enquire about the cost of replacing the battery in her watch. The time was somewhere around 4.30 to 4.45pm. As I helped Mum into the store, the first words out of the assistants mouth was "we're closing in a few minutes". Mum asked her question to which she didn't receive an answer, just that it couldn't be done today as they were closing in a few minutes! I'm sorry, but in my book, this is just rude! It doesn't matter that it's delivered with a smile, it is still essentially telling the customer "go away, we don't want your business at this time of day"! The door was hooked open and the shop was open. If the shop is open, then you are there to serve customers. Closing time is the time you can reasonably lock the door to prevent new customers arriving, but anyone arriving before closing time should be welcomed and dealt with, the same as any other time. Closing time is not the time staff leave the shop Appalling customer service!

Lovely staff who were helpful and welcoming, and a wide range of beautiful jewellery. I was served by a lovely staff member called Emma. Would highly recommend!

Great customer service by Jas, who greeted us and showed us where to find what we wanted. She stayed with us and my wife tried on the chain she wanted. She made pleasant conversation and made us feel happy and comfortable to shop in H Samuel Chester!

I went in to the Chester store last week and was greeted by Emma who had remembered my name from the last time I was in which was around 3mths ago. She's such a pleasant young lady and always so helpful and deserves a lot of credit for customer service skills. She feels more like a friend than a sales assistant.

Popped into the Chester store. And was greeted by a friendly smile from Alex. He looked after us and ensured we got the right watch for my dad. He couldn’t have been more helpful. Excellent service and he’s a credit to the Chester store.

Thank you to Lauren for helping me find my christmas present. Lauren was extremely helpful, patient and had a lovely kind nature. When picking out watches to try on she was more than happy to assist. After choosing my favourite watch, with the help of my mum and Lauren being very positive and happy about my decision I needed some links taken out. Within no time at all Lauren came back for me to try it on again and was very accurate with how many that needed to take off, I did want to try with another link back on which she did then decided without it fit best for me and she was more then happy to do so to make sure it fit perfect which I appreciated a lot. Thank you Very much Lauren for your amazing customer service, I had a delightful experience finding the watch which was perfect for me.

We popped in to get our daughters watch altered and we were served by Alex. He was a well presented young man, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. He knew the ins and outs of all the products. A lovely lady called Jemma helped me replace my ring through my insurance the stone came out of my ring and she helped me call the insurance company to get the information needed and also helped me to pick items for replacement and gave her advice on what she thinks would suit me and also gave me ideas for what I could get with the remainder of the allowance she was very kind and professional will definitely return as she is a credit to the store and the brand

I went into the shop on Monday to get an engagement ring and a watch that i had seen on the website. The sales assistant Peter (i think that was his name he had a Mustache) was absolutely amazing, he sorted everything out for me there and then and answered the thousands of questions i had for him. Process took about 15 mins and i walked out the shop buzzing at how easy the whole thing was even thought i was stressing about it all the night before.

Went into look at watches stood at the watch counter for 10min no staff member approached me to ask if i needed assistance so I left the shop how ever that section is on a different level

Needed a new watch strap. They had one to fit but had gold buckle. Lady changed it with my original one and with no charge. First rate service.

Fantastic, the service was brilliant .

Very polite and welcoming staff and they currently have a good one way system with dedicated entrance and separate exit to avoid passing people as much as possible. I had to go to replace something and they were still very quick to serve us and complete our needs even though we weren't spending more money
