I'm a University student so I had to register with a new GP as I'm far from home (south). However, I wouldn't suggest The Elms Medical Practice for the following reasons: I had an ear infection and was given a spray but it didn't do anything. A week later, I returned home and decided to visit my GP (as it still hadn't gone) just to find out that they had prescribed me the wrong thing. Instead, I should've been prescribed antibiotics as my infection was internal not external. May I also add that the GP at Elms put my symptoms into Google and used what came up to diagnose me. In addition to this, I had a really sore throat and dry cough. I couldn't sleep at night properly as I was struggling to breath and always coughing. I visited the GP to find out I had swollen glands. Instead of them prescribing me antibiotics, I was told to buy over the counter medication. Furthermore, the receptionists are unpleasant to speak with; they're dismissive and patronising. They also put down my information wrong and it took me asking 3 times for them to finally update it. To conclude, I have moved GPs and would strongly advise against registering here.

The Lady in reception named “Amy” was absolutely rude, unfriendly and very unprofessional. For the environment such like healthcare where unwell and sick people walk in, we deserved a welcoming and polite receptionist. But her?????? She don’t deserved to be there.

The most rude, aggressive and dishonest staff I have dealt with in my life I originaly had access to my online medical records but following a complaint, 30 minutes after the complaint in fact, my access to the medical records was blocked. The practise manager claimed that this was not deliberate. I tried for 6 months to get access to my online medical records, the practise manager delayed for months, regularly taking weeks to reply. I could not get access. I fear for anyone who has a serious health problem who is a patient at this practice If you are having ongoing problems with this GP Practise, then I suggest you contact your MP, NHS England, move practices or go and see a solicitor

Please if you are looking for a doctors to go to DO NOT CHOOSE HERE. EXTREMELY BAD PRACTICE. PRESCIBING ME MEDICATION WITHOUT EVEN ONCE SEEING ME. ALL DONE OVER PHONE. NEVER MET THE DOCTOR BUT YET IS HAPPY TO PRESCRIBE PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ON THAT BASIS

The Doctors and Nurses are very caring and professional, all the receptionists are polite and treat you like a human being . All except one , she is rude and abrupt . I think she's in the wrong job , I think that she needs to go a on a people skills course , all patients seem to be a major inconvenience to her.

Went for a medical review as part of the adoption process. The receptionist was extremely welcoming and helpful. My Doctor (Dr Magrath) was outstanding. He made me feel at ease and was genuinely interested in the adoption process. Can’t recommend this doctors surgery enough. Both the receptionist and Dr Margrath are a credit to the Elms.

I've been sent so many texts for me to get in contact to see a doctor/nurse so why is it impossible to make an appointment when they are always fully booked. The impression I'm left with is the receptionist couldn't care less, this is unforgiveable. I've tried on & off phoning from 8am never answered or cut off. I'll be changing surgeries as soon as possible.

Excellent service, from the efficiency and organisation of the office staff to the empathy and clinical competence of the doctors and nurses. Never had a problem getting an appointment for any of the family. Very happy with our choice.

Brilliant visit to my GP at the Elms Chester to see a GP who I had not seen before having been treated over 50 years at the Elms. I saw him when I was at my worst not feeling very well he went through the examination chatting to me and finding out more about me. After the examination he sent a script to my local chemist and after finishing the consultation I shook his hand and thanked him for me able to walkout of the surgery feeling far better than when I walked.

Just wanted to say thank you to all the doctors including Dr Snowdon, Dr Magrath and ANP David Greenhalgh. They always provide excellent care and act promptly and efficiently. My family and I have been patients here for many years and we have always been treated with great care. Would highly recommend this practice to anyone!!

I swapped to this GP from another one in Chester. I have found the experience very positive, with friendly receptionists, excellent GPs and a proactive approach to health testing. Thank you!

Terrible place. Avoid. Why? Trying to get an appointment is like hens teeth. Parking is difficult, often driving round to get a space as they are limited and the spaces are narrow. You have to pay £1.50 to park and then to get to the surgery you have to either go up in the small lift which is often busy or broken. To walk up a couple of flights of stairs to the ground floor and then up two more flights to the surgery! Check in staff make mistakes with appointment times - I’d ring up to double check your time slot from my experience. All in all a right faff to get in the place. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have been a patient with the Elms for many years and have always felt that I and my family recurve excellent care from all the practitioners and staff there. Over recent years it has been noticeable how the Elms has become even more proactive and efficient in such areas as arranging screening and generally following up issues. I have also found that they are well connected to a multitude of local medical services such as physiotherapy, minor surgery clinics or specialist services such that issues get dealt with efficiently. The staff are really helpful and caring - the GP team have always been excellent and special mention to Nurse Erin Byrne who is excellent. In general, I am finding the care here excellent.

When struggling with issue I called in. In giving the description of my symptoms to the receptionist, Leah, she was so helpful, suggesting a double appointment with Dr Cleeton. Dr Cleeton was understanding and supportive, and able to promptly prescribe treatment for me. Grateful to Leah for her excellent reading of my situation and Dr Cleeton for her excellent advice.

Easy to get through to the reception whenever I need to book my Mother in for an appointment. Easy enough to find parking in the carpark too, with a lift for easy access to the surgery.

This glowing review is to the amazing Elms Medical centre team. I feel so very lucky and proud to be with the Elms practice. Whenever ive had to call you, the receptionists have been so helpful, efficient, courteous and polite. They always call me back when they say they will and try their very best to sort out the issue, this is so refreshing, as I hear many of my friends, colleagues and other family members that belong to other medical practices, feeling very disgruntled and not happy with their practice reception team. I may have actually lost friends because I have great pleasure in always telling them that The Elms are amazing and they need to change their practice and head over to you. But its not just the reception team its also the Drs, whichever one I see always takes time to respectfully listen and then informs me of the plan of action. Honestly Elms team I cannot fault you, not just now have you delivered great care but throughout the whole of covid I always felt fully supported by you. Well done, please keep doing what youre doing. A very happy patient Angie
