Not hugely impressed by this place. Hoped for a treat but got a few rather dry pieces of beef, a spoon of horseradish and half a ton of stuffing wedged inside a sorry looking roll. Even the cup of tea was tiny. £7.40 is too much for such a skimpy meal.

Unreal gravy and roast potatoes. The wrap was really nice as well

Went to this little place for the first time this evening. Very impressed. The yorkie pud with ham was delicious. Had a lovely chat to the Manager, very friendly and the young girl serving me was very attentive. Place was clean. Looking forward to going back and trying the pork. 10 out of 10 👍👍👍👍👍

Wow ! What more can I say ? Fantastic staff, lovely succulent slices of meat, the pork was great roast spuds like my mum used to make and gravy to die for! A+ will definitely eat here again

First visit to the York roast in Chester, loved it will definitely be back. Staff welcoming and she portion size amazing (too much for me). Highly recommended the pork and apple.

Simply amazing!. .The pork roast was tender and juicy and the bun is divinely soft. .The apple sauce was the right amount of sweetness that complemented the roast well. .Every bite is like chuncks of heaven. .And the guy that served us by the till was welcoming, friendly and approachable. .10 of 10. .❤️❤️❤️

Small outlet with limited seating capacity. Best to takeout. Prices are affordable with the Yorkshire Roast Wrap at £3.75. Fillings vary from roast turkey, roast pork, roast beef with seasonal vegetables and gravy. Expect a queue which can snake until the exterior of the shop as the outlet is really small. Quick service by the staff.

Lovely experience from the guys behind the counter from the moment we walked in and very impressed with how they were dealing with a unreasonable customer. Absolutely stunning roast pork sandwich and my husband enjoyed his ham. Will be doing more Chester trips just for these.

Looks good from the outside. Offering roast meets, Yorkshire pudding etc. Good for attracting foreign tourists. Small seating area outside, easy access to counter, stairs down to small dining area and stairs to bathroom. Seemed to cater mainly takeaways. Ordered roast beef with Yorkshire pudding etc. And took a seat. Soon arrived in a box with plastic knife and fork. Beef was nice, Yorkshire not quite cooked. Noticed staff were politely turning away foreign customers, they had cash, which they didn't accept. Clearly the owner hadn't traveled abroad where cash is better than bank charges. Might be better in a town with fewer disappointed tourists.

Xmas shopping and time for a bite to eat. Do not walk past this place it serves the most amazing Yorkshire pudding wraps. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Tried this place as the meat in the window looked fantastic and it really delivered! The ham was juicy and tender and the staff were helpful in checking if we wanted everything on the sandwich (my partner didn't want the sauce so this was great!). Its definitely worth getting the larger portion of meat too

Ordered 2 Yorkshire pudding wraps for me and my girlfriend mine was turkey and beef and my girlfriends was just beef honestly so amazing the meat was so tender and the turkey was far from dry loved every last bite staff was so friendly and amazing would recommend and will be coming again for sure thank you to The York roast co for an enjoyable stay

*edit* I caved and got another york roast because i had intense roast cravings. To my delight the former glory seems to be back. I have now had about 5 york roasts since my bad review and all have been great. I am so happy and will continue to be a customer here for as long as this standard stays. The meat has been succulent and tasty, the veg cooked well and the yorkshire puddings on point. The portion sizes have been great, the food has been hot and all orders have been correct. I can't complain at all and I'm so excited that the rough patch is over and I can go back to having my roast cravings filled without having to spend hours cooking! *prev. one star review* York roast used to be my favourite place so I keep trying it even though it's been disappointing for a while. Today was really terrible. So to start we were given a wrap instead of a Yorkshire pudding meal. Then the portion size of the correct meal (turkey roast dinner) was terrible, 3 little potatoes and the tiniest scrap of very hard and incredibly dry turkey. The beans were somewhere between hard plastic and leather and totally inedible. It was all cold, I tried to eat the accidental wrap I was given as I was starving but it was awful, basically just a dry stuffing wrap with the occasional leathery bean, cold carrots and scrap of beef. Neither meal got eaten last a couple of bites which is such a shame and a waste. I miss getting a roast that was tasty and fulfilling - this will definitely be the last time I try again though, I am too disappointed.

Delicious!! This is now where we will be eating every time we go to Chester. I had pork, roast potatoes and gravy in a bap, and my partner had a beef dinner wrapped in a Yorkshire pudding. They were both amazing, around £8 each but worth the price. Only downside is that the Yorkshire pudding stuck to the paper and they are card only - don’t take cash

Wow wow wow absolutely amazing!! I received 2 of the Christmas dinners with turkey and lovely little blankets. Very juicy meat was beautiful. We came in around 1pm it was very busy and lovely man said if we hold on a little tables where leaving and he will sort one out for us. Only bad points was they don’t accept cash but gentleman said out of his hands. But I’ll see you again in future. Outstanding

Absolutely love it. Had a yorkipud wrap with ham and all the trimmings. Absolutely loved it and the staff are great. Would 100% come here again as I felt greatly satisfied both with the food prices and service.

Looks tasty in window, had 2 pork yorkie dinners,thought pork crackling would come from meat being cooked.,wow pot of packet crackling for 3.50 . First fork full of carrots had a load of powder seasoning on ,tasted really salty.looked like frozen roasties,disappointed to say the least . After a few beers in pub still tasting seasoning.wont be going again.

Just decided to stop for lunch with our daughter and two grandsons. Service poor, not asked if we wanted sauce with our roasts but given it anyway. Grandson gagging as yorkshire pud covered in horseradish. No coffee as machine not working, so given tea, no refund offered. As far as I can see, just paid over £50 for the worst food stop ever! We will not be back. If I could have given less than one star I would have. UPDATE. After a very nice and polite e-mail conversation, I am happy to say that this matter has now been resolved with a full refund and promise of staff training. I will now give it another try next time I am in Chester and am looking forward to a much improved visit. Thank you York Roast Chester

Went into the store, and was greeted by that lovely staff. I was speaking to the manger about the area as I am in Chester for a break away and wanted to know what to see and she was lovely and gave me a few ideas. I’ve been in Chester since Friday and I’ve eaten with you 3 times since here. You need to open a store in Lancaster.

Ordered 2 yorkie wraps for me and boyfriend, we ate in. The seating area was small and cosy, there were toilets upstairs too. I absolutely loved mine, the meat and stuffing especially were delicious. My boyfriend found his a little dry, but you can order an extra side of gravy if you'd like!

Went to Chester, I was out shopping with the mrs could smell some incredible food. Went large I came on a regular size muffin . Found it a little dry to be honest . I did give half to the mrs and the piece of crackling to her. They did also do a dinner version that was in a carton with gravy which might have been better.

Like others we had pretty high expectations of this, but it felt like a bit of a shambles! The ordering process and kitchen seemed really chaotic and unorganised which made it very slow for them to serve customers (~20 mins). The food was pretty good, but the veg was pretty firm still and generally it all lacked a bit of flavour. Love the idea though!

Not great to be honest. Had high expectations of this place but unfortunately it didn’t live up to them. Food was quite expensive (considering the amount you got!) not enough beef and the food that was there was hard and cold. Wouldn’t recommend

Staff were very nice and food was tasty however they give you toddler portions and already the box it is served in is tiny and it didn't even fill half of the tiny box, food protions were very small for the price. Had to go elsewhere as I was still hungry.

Ordered for delivery and received completely the wrong order, the food was cold and the carrots were not cooked properly and the roast potatoes were boiled not roasted. I called to let them know and there were rude and uninterested. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt but this is the second time the order has been wrong. Won't be ordering from then again. Terrible all round.
