I went to this gym between July and August. Was told when I signed up that I signed up for a monthly plan and could cancel anytime without an issue. When I called to cancel they said that I would have to pay for my last month even though that bill wasn’t due for a few more days. This was no where in the contract. The girl I talked to lied and said she signed me up and told me this when it was a guy who signed me up. I then noticed a charge for my next month shortly after talking to them about canceling. Disputed this charge and got my money back and blocked them from charging my card anymore. A few months later they now sent me a bill saying I owe them over $100 in back charges when my membership has been canceled for months. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this gym.

I'm in the same boat as the last review. I've been 4 months trying to cancel a membership with a signed form in place. I would advise canceling your credit card so they don't have access. Called management after each time they stole money from account and was told, "no worries it's taken care of". Which turned out to be a lie (4x). To your response: protocol was followed, check your records.

The absolute best gym in Macomb Township. The owner truly cares about his members and we appreciate the staff, they are very helpful. The hours are great as I like to workout late at night. I have another gym a mile from my house and I travel to Xtreme Fitness because its worth it!

Chesterfield had a watermain break and was under a boil water advisory. For obvious reasons Xtreme shut off the drinking fountains. However, they provided FREE bottled water during the advisory. What seems like a very basic gesture goes a long way. The new owners have also invested a lot into the gym. As a 12 year member, I am happy to see new equipment, new flooring, and maintenance being performed.

I came there tonight me and niece first time there. All treadmills were broke and then we finally found two thought they were gonna work and mine would not let me change the speed at all instead and 1.0. I got on an exercise bike and it was broke also so not only did I get scammed out of 20 bucks for me and my niece which I don’t care about none of her machines work. I just wanted to go and have a good workout I was thinking about switching from planet fitness to them but I guess I will stay with planet fitness not trying to be mean not trying to talk bad I really was interested in going in there.

It pains me to say this after being a loyal member here for over a decade, but i feel bad for the members, if who they say is taking over is actually taking over. (Cough champions gym cough). Multiple charges on my account after cancelling in person even AFTER the 30 days notice. Ive cancelled one other time in the past and this wasnt a problem. I thought it was a fluke but judging by recent reviews it looks like its been going on for some time now. Sad to go out on a sour note with my first gym that made me fall in love with bodybuilding.

This gym is the best example of what a gym should be. They have all equipment even old school Machines That built are former predecessors. The most friendly staff and the most nice members, it’s like everyone here is a family. I currently work for la fitnesses but this gym puts shame to la fitnesses.

I’ve been going to this gym since moving to Chesterfield in 2013. I absolutely love the atmosphere, the members are great, and the staff is even greater. Has everything you need and is a REAL gym not some club that serves pizza and bagels to its members. Way to go Xtreme Fitness and keep up the great work 👍🏻💪🏻

I am in the USAF at Selfridge and called to notify them that I am no longer living in the local area. I now live more than 50 miles away and commute. I requested cancellation of my membership and I was told that the only way this can be done is by coming in person to the facility and filling out documentation to cancel my account. I stated that this is a major inconvenience and is there any way I can do this over the phone and I was told "NO" it has to be done in person. Your account will remain active until you can visit again. I guess I will just be contacting my bank to block them since they refuse to work with customers. EDIT: I also called back requesting to speak with the owner and told that he would be unavailable and again requested they cancel my membership and was told again this is the only way they will stop my membership. Normally businesses are willing to work with you on things, I don't appreciate the lack of customer service for a customer. It seems they are just trying to get you to continue to pay regardless of whether you can be there or not. I do not appreciate the "I don't care." attitude when I call explaining my situation.

I had the pleasure the other day of finally being able to workout at this gym with a buddy of mine who is an active member and this place is nothing short of amazing. Have every different type of equipment you could want both older and newer models. Everything in working order and the staff were very friendly and welcoming to me. I cannot wait til my current membership expires at another local gym I belong to cause I plan on signing up here as soon as possible. Fantastic gym
