I love it everytime I come here. I first came here in the summer of 2020 with my cousin from out of state and her kids, the staff made us feel welcome and were really funny and super attentive. I came again early 2021 with my mom, sister, and grandma and had another 5 star experience. Staff was amazing as always. And then earlier this month I came again to get some of my art orders done (digital drawing) and I just needed an outside space to concentrate (also didn't want to cook and was hungry), and I got the try their house blend and it's GOOD. LIKE REALLY GOOD. They were really nice and let me get a lot of work done. I actually ended up staying until closing, time flew by, and they were super nice about it and didn't rush me at all. They made sure I always had coffee and that the food was to my satisfactory. I love this restaurant and I always recommend it. Definitely my favorite local spot. I just wish they were open at night too.

Had the breakfast sampler and it was really good, the two Pancakes 🥞 were nice and fluffy, the eggs were cooked to perfection, the bacon was crispy and the sausage was oh so good! So stop by and get you a great breakfast.

First of all we (my family) have been eating at the Big Apple restaurant for approximately 20yrs(I think it was called the Looking Glass). And always enjoyed the restaurant and food. On July 2nd we had a party of eleven and ate there for the second time in about a month, our waitress was very friendly but forgetful, which was not a problem it was busy there, we all have those kind of days. She forgot my order, forgot I didn't want coffee when my food finally came, forgot my pancakes. Still no problem. The problem came when one of our party ordered a steak medium, not well or medium well (it was well). When this was brought to her attention, she told him that's not what he said (it was, I was sitting next to him). We were then informed by the waitress he'll have to eat it, that they don't re-cook steak and wouldn't. (none of it had been eaten the tip was sliced revealing it was well done). We asked for the manager two other people came before the owner came out. He informed us the same, cause the steak cost him more then he charges for it (we all stopped eating cause that's not true) he was very agitated and offered sausage patties instead of STEAK. When he was told no that's OK he became more agitated and angrily asked well what do you want me to do, again he was told that's OK, he then said just pay for the eggs and hashed browns (that had one fork full missing) like he was doing us a favor, that one meal should have been taken off the bill seeing we were spending over two hundred dollars. He never apologized for their mistakes. We felt disrespected and couldn't wait to get out of there. Hate to say it but we're done with the Big Apple restaurant. This is what happens to a successful business they forgetful who and what made them successful (CUSTOMER SATISFACTION)

Exceptional food and service. I travel all over the US and had to take the time to commend the owners and their staff for providing a phenomenal restaurant experience to their customers. Everything from the price point of their food to the portions and the attentiveness of their staff and service. Weather dining in or getting carry out my order is always correct and made to perfection. I very seldom will give a establishment a 5 star review but this business owner and his/her staff truly deserve it for providing such a great asset to this community. You guys should be very proud. Thank you and keep up the awesome job you guys are doing.

Came here for breakfast with my parents after seeing the high ratings and numerous reviews. The service was fast and friendly, plenty of tables available when we came on a random Friday morning. The server suggested some popular items, and was great at keeping our coffee cups filled. The food quality was unfortunately mixed. The Eggs Benedict was delicious and a good serving size. The potato pancake was flavorful and satiating. The pancakes in the breakfast sampler and the french toast were so dry we had to keep adding more syrup so we could chew them without fear of dehydration. The soft scrambled eggs and (over cooked) bacon tasted off in an indescribable way. The sausage link was yummy though. I hope our experience was uncommon, but nonetheless, occurred.

Good food. Large portions. What else can I say? A LOT! I visited this place after my original review. Not much has changed except I had a very unpleasant experience with the owner. To make a long story short, my friend and I had over stayed our welcome. The owner needed our booth for other customers. We didn't have a problem with him asking g us to leave. It was the rude and disrespectful way he asked. It wasn't as if he or the waitress had asked us to leave before hand. We were completely blindsided by his loud and disrespectful tone. But it really shouldn't come as nuch of a surprise seeing that in all the years I have supported this establishment, I have never seen this man interact, engage with, smile at or acknowledge customers in any way. We are all no more than the money he uses to live the life he lives which is probably a very good one thanks to his loyal customers, whom might I add are 99.9% African American. Needless to say this is the last review I will be giving on The Big Apple. I won't be going back and in my mind it is now The Rotten Apple.

Brought a friend 😉 her first time she loved it. I have had the Big Apple experience but, it's been a while. Great atmosphere, clean place to dine, server very attentive, food delicious but not very hot. It was very chilly and all the ceiling fans were on. Took my jacket off and put it back on😲 My eggs got cold before I could finish them. Great place for kids for a pancakes.

First off, my server Ashley was fantastic, not just with her serving me but the way she dealt with the table next to me with the four difficult woman was no less than impressive. Ashley was on her game with this group. They had her running back and forth between their table and the kitchen/ service station. She checked on me without being a bother. She dropped a to go container without me even asking then the bill shortly after that. Kudos to her for doing a fantastic job. Food was good, I got the veggie skillet with over easy eggs that were perfect. The veggies were cooked just right, my potatoes were crispy like I asked. Only negative I saw was on my way out 3 team members were more interested in having their nose in there phones than watching the floor. I had other breakfast options to go to but decided on Big Apple from a recommendation by my girl. I'll return again and I'd recommend it.

Food looked good but menu was deceiving for the char chicken ceasersalad which was placed on a flat grill I couldn’t eat it the waitress could care less. I mentioned my concern! Everything is heavily seasoned with garlic! I won’t be going back

I ordered to go because I was working. I called in my order, and I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito add avocado, jalapeños and pepperjack cheese. I also ordered grits with pepperjack cheese. The grits were bland, but the pepperjack cheese made up for it, and the small pack of salt and pepper came with the utensils. My burrito was delicious and a nice touch with the pickle because I love pickles. I will be going back to try something different and actually dine in. I will be back for a DINE IN UPDATE. The overall take out process was quick and easy.

You will definitely enjoy your breakfast or lunch meal. The food is comforting and tasty. The restaurant is clean and seating is comfortable. The service is quick and everyone is friendly. My favorite is a burger of choice and fries but occasionally I have one of the breakfast platters or skillets. Pictures of the Farmers Omelette and the Turkey Skillet (top).

Great family owned place. Ashley served our family of 12 with a smile and great service. The food was great and we tried almost every type of dish, pancakes, crepes, waffles, omelets, and biscuits and gravy. Our food came out fast and hot. I would recommend this for every large family or group.

First time at restaurant; hubby and I went for breakfast as they appear busy alot so we wanted to experience what the crowd has. Experience was ok but nothing outstanding. A bit on the pricey side (spent about $45 for standard breakfast & oatmeal/fruit/toast) although food was average.

I ate here today and will never eat here again. They brought my food burnt with hair on my plate. The server immediately apologized took it back and brought me fresh food. As I started eating I noticed the same piece of hair on my plate. I let the manager know and he refuses to rectify the situation and proceeds tells me they were hats. Sir it’s an open kitchen and I don’t see one person with a hat on. He argued with me and refused to offer a resolution.

Food is always great! Servings are almost equivalent to 2 meals. Staff very friendly and attentive. Takes less than 10 minutes from home. Very busy but wait timess are minuscule. Although family, never overly noisy and prices are reasonable. Go whenever I can and interchangeably eat breakfast or lunch. Wished they served dinner!

I’m usually pleased when getting food from Big Apple, but in an attempt to try something new I was only met with disappointment. I ordered the shrimp basket and quickly recognized that the shrimp and fries were VERY similar both in appearance and taste to store brand, yet somehow blander. The potato and celery soup was tasty but there was something abrasive that I could hear and feel being crushed between my teeth. Amazing place for breakfast but not to keen on the lunch
