The gym concept is nice with variety of machinery and open layout with split level and indoor amenities, but the maintenance and sanitation in this facility is 1/10. The sauna and Locker Room is always a mess and unsanitary. This gym would be amazing and would compete well with other south suburban gyms if their janitorial and sanitary commitment were concentrated.

They make it very hard to cancel a membership when you can sign up in 2 minutes online. Its not fair especially when they have changed fundamental policies and hours since the date of signing up. When I enrolled I did not agree to vaccination cards. I Also agreed to sign up when it was a 24hour facility which is no longer the case. I called customer service to cancel and would not help at all.

I understand a wait on parts or waiting on possible repair appointments but when I come in to this gym 4 to 5 days out the week and the last 4 weeks the Sauna has been out of service it is a let down to alot of people who enjoy the sauna area. Hope this review helps sauna get fixed. Update: next day after my 1 star review sauna was being worked on. The following day sauna was up and running. Glad to see it was fixed.

You can sign up for this gym in seconds but try to cancel your membership is a joke. Have to send in cancellation letter then when you do cancel they still bill your card with a different charge and when you try to call them you will sit on hold. Matter of fact I’m on hold now over 55 minutes so far all their representatives are busy yeah they don’t have any to make thinks hard. Signed up for a 24hr gym because the only time I could work out was after 11pm after work. Why is it every other 24hr gym is open 24 hours yet xsport isn’t. Then the vaccine mandate to top it. If you’re looking at gyms look elsewhere.

The smell is becoming unbearable. The gym used to be clean but now I don’t understand how the city hasn’t shut them down. I’m really sad because that was my favorite gym for years. Today I walked in and walked right out. I should of canceled my membership before I left but I’ll just do it over the phone because of that smell. FYI it’s not the sweat from all the people working out it’s the carpets and everything else pretty much.

This gym used to be the best once upon a time 10 years ago. Now it’s just like the county jail! Bathrooms stink gym is super dirty and equipment is busted or bent be carful not to hurt your self from it being un even. and the people who work out here are very aggressive and ignorant. And rude. Be prepared for someone to fight you for no reason. Steal your equipment. I’ve complained to staff about the members here and they do nothing at all poor staff afraid to speak up and control their own gym. It’s rly sad how bad and wild this gym has become no sense of organization literally just like the county jail be prepared to listen to somebody else boom box speaker on loud working out right next to you. There’s no sense of authority running this gym. The kids and thugs that work out here do what ever they want and gang up on you.

The worst gym ever. Would give 0 stars if it was an option they are thieves and shouldn’t be in business. When I signed up with to become a member they were able to do the entire process over the phone. However, when it came time to cancel they make you jump through hoops. They can’t cancel your membership over the phone and make you come in. But oh, it gets even better. When you come in, they tell you that it’s only during the week during 8AM-6PM that you can cancel. They are liars and thieves. Do not trust them. Worst gym ever.

They just stole $520 dollars from our locker! This is is absurd, unacceptable and disappointing. A corporation of this size shouldn’t allow things like this to happen. The cut off the lock and stole the money. Took the lock and my money. The security at this gym is unsafe and disturbing. Now my family and I can’t come to the gym because of these unsafe measures. Corporate and the staff need to do better. We pay a lot of money for this to happen. There were unfortunately other people that had items and money stolen from their locker.

I bought my membership 3 months ago for the gym 24/7. Two weeks ago they changed their hours and you can't come any more you want. On the coldest day of the week I came and the jacuzzi was closed !!! The water in the pool is as cold as a lake. What are they taking the money for ?! I will add that the jacuzzi is closed relatively often and cannot be used. I do not recommend it, I regret that I spent money on people who are looking for opportunities to save them

I am giving this 2 stars for the following reasons. The men's bathroom is usually dirtyand stinks. There is sometimes feces on the bathroom stall. The membership is kinda expensive. The shower area smells like sewage every day. One of the toilet seats is broken. Many of the treadmills don't work and there is no designated area for stretching. There is no WI-FI for members to use. The beverages are absurdly expensive compared to other gyms. The intercom is extremely loud and annoying they call employees and constantly tell members to rack their weights 10 times an hour and threatening to revoke their membership if they don't. The pros of this gym is that some of the trainers are very good at what they do.

I've added a star as I am a Member (for the 3rd time) but my gosh the place is still filthy. All of the floors need deep cleaning or replacing but you can tell how bad it is on the tiles. Or look at any part of the treadmills that isn't wiped by members, dust, hair, deep grime. Spotty mold and rings in the toilet. Lots of broken stuff. I haven't even been in the locker room yet so remains to be seen if it's any cleaner. The front desk staff have been very friendly/attentive tho which was not always true in the past so that's very nice.

This company SCAMS hard working people out of there money I canceled my membership months ago not only do they still charge my card they overcharged my card which is (theft) I've called and complained they are rude and very unprofessional, not to mention I've been robbed twice while being in this gym. This place is HORRIBLE

Always dirty, stair masters are always broken and don't even have cup holders (been months still haven't replaced them, have to put your water bottle on the ground, pause your workout, get off, drink, and get back on), took machines out after the remodel (back extension specifically) and I have no clue where it was moved, or if it was just taken out (still have yet to find it, employees are useless). No towels or disinfectant spray all the time. I see people that look like the cleaning crew always walking around, but never cleaning anything or refilling towels or the spray. $40 a month for a dirty, smelly gym with 25% of the equipment always broken. The majority of the "$500,000 remodel" must have gone to the exterior sign they replaced. If looking for a new gym, avoid this xsport.

UPDATE Management of this location should be embarrassed by the canned response they provide everyone. It does not reflect responsiveness, accountability or sincerity. Therefore I’ll forward my concerns to the corporate office. HORRIBLE BROKEN EQUIPMENT EVERYWHERE. The two stars is for my awesome trainer. Otherwise I would not come here. It is really ridiculous the quantity of broken machines. The women’s locker room is disgusting with bugs so I don’t use it. I’m just in and out for my training session. After my training session I go to planet fitness because they have treadmills that are no broken. There are at least 4-6 broken treadmills and they don’t even put signs on them. Simeon is going to get hurt and they are going to get sued. Please invest in upgrading this gym. Your locations up north put this one to GREAT shame. It makes no sense as much money as you take in from memberships that the equipment Is the in such horrible condition. Once I have reach my fitness goals I will no longer remain a member here. It’s really a sad commentary on how they feel about their customers.

Pretty much in shambles. Surprised someone hasn't tripped and sued on their 100 year old floor pads with massive holes in them. The dumbbells are impossible to find because they are scattered literally around the WHOLE entire gym. I don't think I've seen a set of 25s in a week. I cannot believe I signed back up for this place. 🤢🤮 It's like coming back to an abusive husband cause it's 10$ a month. 10/10 would not recommend unless your only other option was planet fitness.

I have been a member since this place opened more than 17 years ago.They are stealing the members money by increasing their monthly rate without even notification, I was paying 9.95, all the sudden increased to 12.95 and 2 months later 15.95. The Gym is very filthy, the men bathrooms are stinky and broken all time, the dumpeles are all over the place and the lazy manager setting on the chair doing nothing all day long, this place under very bad management, I will switch to Planet Fitness, very clean and my wife only pays 9.95 a month.

My gym, at chicago ridge, I love it, and I wish, it will be open 24/7 again.

While swimming a woman was in the jacuzzi cutting toenails and washing herself with Johnson’s baby shampoo. I notified staff member and they went to speak with her. 1/2 hr later she was still in jacuzzi. When I asked staff member if he verified what I saw and he said he did see the same thing. I asked him why she was still in there and he would not answer or look at me. Disgusting and filthy. Not just pool but entire facility.

There's a fantastic trainer there & the reason why I continue to workout at the XSport Fitness in Chicago Ridge. My main reason for purchasing a membership was the Steam Room & it hasn't worked since June 2022 & they have no idea when it will be operational. Truly unfortunate!!

Edit 7/11/23: The last two weeks there has been a noticeable effort to improve on many of the issues I mentioned in my original review. I will be more than happy to revise my review again if there is continued improvement. I'm gunna start out by saying I do love this gym. I've gone there several times a week for a few years now. The staff is friendly and the selection of equipment is fantastic. However, the cleanliness is really bad. There's usually garbage all over the place and the bathrooms are disgusting 99% of the time. The freeweights are a mess and never reracked. There's several treadmills that have been not functioning for months now it seems. I really wish I could give this gym a better rating because it is a really good facility, but i can't do that if cleanliness is not a priority.

Staff is extremely thirsty to get you to get a personal trainer to the point were you feel uncomfortable to want to come back on my first day I tried going to work out and they stopped me around three times till they sat me down he was literally forcing me to call my husband to discuss the prices for the personal trainer I had to find my way out of the awkward situation after I said no three times. After that awkward situation it made me feel kind of uncomfortable to even come back to the gym I felt like canceling my membership after that. They’re also very rude, cocky, and judgmental. They are not welcoming or well trained for certain situations. Also, the gym has a super weird smell to it. Funky. they def need to keep up with the cleaning as well

I've been a Member of XSport Fitness for years. I frequent the club in Downers Grove but recently started working out at the Chicago Ridge gym a few months ago. This location was horrible with the housekeeping of the free weights and plates! Patrons never returned the weights to the racks, and finding smaller weights was difficult and extremely frustrating! Noticeably, with the recent transition of the Management team, Ray and his staff have done a remarkable job of encouraging the patrons to return all weights back to the racks after use!! Needless to say, the facility is MUCH cleaner with users beginning to change the paradigm of leaving their weights everywhere! Keep up the great good work!! Well Done Ray!!!!!!

Take the free week first! I decided to join without trying it out first because I thought it would be like other locations I've been and I regret it! This place is so dirty. All the equipment is old and half doesnt work. I went in to a pod and it was disgusting (picture included). The hand sanitizer has not been refilled for days. The cleaning lady in the mornings is always in the girls bathroom talking to people. I have never seen her actually cleaning. No wonder this place is a junk.

Been coming for a few months, working with personal trainer Lucia..... love it. She's amazing and very supportive. I'm loving my results!!!!!!!!!!

Gym smells nasty, t avac seems to not function. Free weights are harder to find than gold in this gym. Alot of machines run out of service and it take em weeks to fix. I really wish another gym can open nearby so i can move to that instead.

Filthy, Cheap, Understaffed, and complete thieves. There's never toilet paper in the rest rooms, no paper towels or spray at the dispensers. Water fountains are off so the water is warm. Machines are broken for months until they're fixed or replaced. No employees to put back weights that are all over the place. I've been going for months and haven't seen one employee cleaning equipment. You'd think after COVID they would have better standards. But they got much cheaper and much worse. And canceling your membership is a nightmare! I'd recommend going to LA or something more expensive because at xsport after 3 months you will be getting charged double due to "inflation"

I am completely new to the fitness world. So naturally I looked like lost puppy in what at first could be an intimidating environment. But, thankfully Xsport staff was friendly as well as welcoming and took the time in answering all my questions and addressing my concerns. I started by taking one of their fitness classes available in the morning, however no one showed up, so it was just me and Christine, the trainer/teacher. Initially I thought it’d be awkward or she might cancel (understandable)as she explained this usually doesn’t happen, but she DID NOT hesitate in showing me the ropes to working out and even went on to teach the class as what felt like I had my own personal trainer. So I am very happy with the whole experience. Thank you Christine! P.S. From what I saw , people working out keep to themselves, so if you feel judged or monitored- don’t. I should know- one of my sports bra pad fell to the ground (don’t t know how that happened!) but no one noticed or they did, and were discreet and minded their business. Phew! Definitely going to make this location my go to.

Good gym I would of have gave it 5 stars but many treadmills are usually out of service guess that ain’t the biggest issue but it’s the showers that have many flies you don’t notice until you really look, caught me off surprise when I was taking a shower..

I've been going here a long time and it's probably the best gym in the area..they just need to maintain the facility better. I never see anyone repairing equipment but they do have the most options. Also watch your stuff in the locker rooms, people cut locks here.

I really want to like this gym but the last few times I've been here the bathrooms are really dirty and not maintained, not sure if they're understand but the bins were full to the brim at around 9 pm and the whole place looked very disheveled. The pool and jacuzzi are great and overall the facilities are very nice just needs more cleaning...

It's a big gym with a sauna and steam. Weights are all over the place, just like it was a year ago when I left. What did expect when there very little staff, just a a few staff members and a bunch a trainers that hang around the entrance all day.

Is an ok gym. But if there were LA FITNESS never come to this gym with a couple reasons. Some equipments are broken for weeks or months and nobody cares to fix them. There are no paper towel most time on dispensers or even in Restrooms or hauls. You have to look around to find equipments because Most equipments are all around. Going to XSport Fitness for about 2 years and now they are claiming that they invested $500k for replacing equipments 😂🤣😂 but what we notice it’s only a couple equipments were replaced. Some equipments they have only 1 pcs and you have to what a line up there. Treadmills are most of them out of service unfortunately there someone should came like undercover boss from main office to put thing right together on there places. So far so we like this place it’s close by to our house and we would like to be loyal customer with our team if those issues been fixed.

The studio is only open during class times and we aren't allowed inside to stretch or do exercises otherwise. When to use the pool since I couldn't use the studio and there were worms in the pool area and things floating in the jacuzzi. The swimsuit ringer wasn't working and the showers took a long time to get hot water. Put in a complaint and they never called me back for a follow up. I called the customer service number and they told me they did a walk through, but no plan to prevent further worms or if they cleaned and disinfected the area. It grossed me out and I won't be using their pool again. Didn't give it one star because the staff is sometimes ok.

This is probably the worst gym I've been to the weights are everywhere. If you plan on doing free weights be prepared to spending 5 -10 mins looking for weights only to realized half of them are gone. No clips for barbells some machines don't work not to mention this place is disgusting canceling was the best decision I'll go to cfx.

All the 5 stars are paid for. This gym is old and raggedy. Other than the fine women they hire, this gym is useless. The manager always gives attitude when you ask for sauna or tan. The hydro massage never works.

I like this gym and I’ve been going there since 2007. The biggest issue they are facing now are thieves going into locker rooms and cutting locks. There needs to be more surveillance in the man’s locker room. I got my lock cut twice in the last month - thankfully I don’t take anything with me to the gym but thieves went through my stuff. Doesn’t make you feel secure for sure.

If i could give this place a 0 star i won’t hesitate. Worst customer service. All they care about is selling you the highest plans. They keep hiding facts and when you discover they say oh sorry we forgot to tell you. They keep charging you for stupid things. Adding more, the place realy smells and it’s not clean. I’ve went there for 4 times maximum and i’m not gonna go everrrr! It’s not about the money, it’s about playing you fool all the time. I’m tired of their stupid s.

I came September 17,2023 to inquire but Rey remembered from over 15 year as a previous member then right away with no hesitation I signed my new contract. On top of that he upsell for the prescribed training program. After my first day of training with Augie who is &very knowledgeable about the subjects area combined technical proficiency & professionalism I signed up for minimum of six (6) months / three (3) times a week. I’m very pleased with the cleanliness & proper organizations of the facility. These are the type of people with want to maintain & care about to keep the proper functional of the business . Honestly I was trying to give this gym a chance since it so close to my house but everytime I come everything is out of place, the weights were never put back and I’ve been to almost all of xsport and staff suppose to put everything back and make sure everything is still there for the next shift. I’ve waisted 20 mins of my time just to look for the weights and most cable machine don’t work had to move back and forth. You better off working out in the city at least everything is there when you need it. Not worth it!

Is as advertised. Gym is a cesspool and breeding ground for sickness and covid. Too much to write. Spray bottles are nothing but water. Feces in men’s bathroom. Too many adolescents running around and playing. Broken equipment, too many to list. Uninformed staff members.

Got my subscription on Mother's day and I have to say only 35 dollars a month I go multiple times a week and get my money's worth every month , Toms to do and they keep it very clean. Always greeted by friendly staff and very accommodating. Will continue my subscription and recommend it to friends.

There is almost no free weights for women to use. There is one set of fifteens and maybe 2-3 sets of tens but they are always being used and alll over the gym so you have to look for them. The womens locker room smells extremely bad. Many of the machines are broken and other gym member like to use two machines at a time making you wait. It’s very dirty and needs a lot of work and organizing. The one thing that I did like was the employees. They are very nice.

My first impression of Xsport fitness today, as I went in to cancel my membership, was they were SO NICE! Pure nice and not scary at all! I left feeling better than I did on my way there!

their hydro massage beds never work. This gym is worthless and will be closed down in no time. Steroid needles everywhere and nothing ever works here. Ill change this review once they fix the massage beds and buy new ones that can run for 5 years straight: This gym has too many people for just two beds. It needs 6. Offer a higher tier membership id pay for it where the higher tier can schedule plots of time and doesnt need to share as much.

Is this the biggest one??!!?? Multiple levels and sections with a pool and sauna. Plenty of space and choices for machines! L😍VE the two-visitor that allows me to workout with hubby AND baby girl 👨‍👩‍👧 JUST NEED MORE BOSU BALLS😉

For years, NO AIR CONDITION. I'm already suffering heat exhaustion. Then, they have the audacity to put a little camper fan inside the gym like its not worsening the situation. Meanwhile, the rest of the gym is cool and well-ventilated. Time I visit he city. Our region is suffering a heat advisory and XSPORT is neglecting to provide a cool ventilated health club for its members and guest.

Austen is an amazing personal trainer! He has been a huge motivator, who has helped me achieve my fitness goals! I was struggling for a long time with back and hip pain, where I struggled to get up or move around after having my child. I was seeing a chiropractor doctor regularly in conjunction with Austen's training sessions. My chiropractor has told me, there are great improvements made by working with Austen, and I should continue with him. Austen takes the time to explain, and show the exercises. If I can't do it, he finds an alternative solution quickly. He is encouraging on days , when I want to throw in towel. He is understanding, when scheduling issues occur. I am a single mom, who has been juggling a lot of business related projects. This has been tough on me. Plus trying to schedule time during xsport's childcare hours hasn't been easy for me because of my business hours. However, he makes it work, and he keeps me on track with my fitness and my nutrition goals too. You can tell, he is very dedicated and passionate about his work. He is knowledgeable about body mechanics and fitness. I highly recommend Austen to anyone, and if you're new to fitness or struggling as I was, then he is your go to trainer! He is very personalable, and friendly. These are qualities, which are hard to find in personal trainers, and important to me. I will be buying more personal training sessions with him, as I believe he understands me and what I want from my sessions. If it wasn't for Austen providing great service, I would have cancelled my membership a long time ago. His great efforts are the reason I am continuing. This is by far the WORST, DIRTIEST, and MOST WORST MANAGED Xsport in Illinois. Everything is dirty (showers, pool, hot tub, exercise equipment, and the sauna and steam room are ALWAYS broken. I would highly recommend another location or a different gym if you are looking to join. The staff is super RUDE and UNWELCOMING. DO BETTER Xsport or close this location. They definitely aren’t following any Covid guidelines at this location.

The gym is large with plenty of equipment. It is one of the best equipped gyms around. It's always clean and is cleaned frequently. Now, most of the patrons are ages 30 and under. Now the gym is HOT! I don't know the reason, but you start sweating after 15 minutes of working out. They need to change that immediately! My concern is that the staff is no longer knowledgeable. It's all about selling packages and trying to get you to sign memberships no matter what. However, the training staff, in my opinion are for sedentary senior citizens. If you are an athlete of any kind, forget about it. Just because a person looks like an athlete and passed a test doesn't mean that they are an effective and knowledgeable personal trainer. Don't try calling the corporate office for support unless you have an hour or two to just sit on the phone. I called them for weeks, let the phone ring forever before they answered. Usually, it's 10 minutes or more before they answer. They are effective in assisting you once they answer, but it takes so much time to get through. So go for the equipment. Whatever you do DO NOT lock your wallet or other valuables in the lockers! Keep those at home or in your car. Bring only what you need for the workout, your car key, ID, and membership fob. You have been warned.

Great place to workout, it gets packed sometimes but if you know a bunch of workouts it's not a big deal. The steam room, sauna, and showers are great for someone who needs quick recovery and is always on the go. Also they have an area in the gym that is somewhat secluded so you can go and do abs and or stretch your body out after an intense workout.
