Brando's has to be one of the best places in Chicago to hangout with really amazing people. Have a few drinks, sing karaoke, and just be yourself. The bartender is such a great guy. He definitely takes care of you and makes sure you're safe.

My new favorite spot for karaoke! I'm sending everyone I know, here! Seriously! Friendly doorman, bartenders were great and kept drinks coming. The crowd was awesome! Uninhibited, karaoke loving ppl like myself. We ate before coming but still ended up ordering some pizza. Pizza was good. I love that there's a second room if you need to take a break from the karaoke scene, which I did not need but nice to have. Parking was easy. Everything about this place, I loved! Don't change a thing!

It was my first time here and I really enjoyed myself. I came with some of my siblings and we all took turns doing karaoke. They have an app that you use to choose songs and perform. I didn’t get a drink but I had their regular fries and their sweet potato fries (they were both really good). The people there were very friendly and supportive of everyone who went on stage. Great environment and safe place to be yourself.

Cute little place with two rooms; one for karaoke and the other for a traditional bar setting. You can't hear the karaoke from the adjacent room so that was a plus for me. Went during holiday season and there was plenty of seasonal cocktails and decor. Will return.

I had heard great things about this speakeasy style bar that offered karaoke daily and we finally had time to stop by. The size was much smaller than I was expecting but the intimate environment was pleasant. Singers can be easily heard throughout the karaoke side of the bar and the audio is clear. The drinks are a bit pricey but on par with similar bars in the loop. A few more food options would be appreciated. The sausage pizza was delicious but I felt quite foolish after realizing the $4 chili chips was a tiny bag of potato chips that tasted like some type of dog food. Overall, this is a nice little place and a great option of you want to sing without waiting through a huge list of singers most bars have on karaoke night.

The DJ that night was very sociable an overall great. But I did not like the fact that he had to check IDs and vaccinations at the front door wow hosting the karaoke section at the same time. It's slow down the progress just a little bit. Overall very decent place to go to nice mixed crowd.

Went during happy hour and DEFINITELY will be back! ($5 palomas for the win!) It’s a 2 sided speakeasy (1 side for karaoke and 1 side for a more chill, lounge like vibe). I sat on the chill side and it was very nice! Has a vintage look but it’s still really cute!

Me and my friend came here the other night, this place was awesome. Friendly staff, dope vibes - karaoke included. The crowd is enjoyable, people from all walks—no drama. Drinks were great & ended up ordering a cheese pizza too which was fantastic. Thanks for being welcoming. We will be returning.

I was with my friends for karaoke and we had a great time in here. Price are normal, as in any place of this type. Drinks couuld be better, but they are not the worst. A lot of people inside which may prove that it is worth coming here. I personally recommend it. "I'll be back" :)

Very cool spot, easy to miss unless you’re looking for it. Well…until you notice the big lit up cocktail outside. I completely missed it though! The first room we entered was the karaoke bar. Looked super fun and everyone was having a good time. Once we went into the back room aka normal bar, we could barely hear the karaoke. Which was impressive because it not like there was a tightly shut door or anything in between. Service was good and seating was comfy. Drinks were ok! Had a couple of the cocktails and they did get a bit too sweet for me. Enjoyed them at first for sure though! Just not my cup of tea. Doesn’t take away from the nice experience though! Now for my standard COVID comments as of May 2023. No one is really wearing masks. It’s pretty small inside and I’m sure can get pretty crowded. Not ideal for anyone who is concerned but seemed ok to me!

We had an excellent time here! The spot is kinda cozy but wasn't too overcrowded. The bartender was so nice and even gave me a cable to charge my phone!! I appreciate that because we were traveling in a city we aren't local to. The karaoke was very fun and they have a super sophisticated system where you can pick your song and put it in the queue from your phone. I had a great time!

Always a fun night out with karaoke. A speakeasy with classic drinks.

The drinks are great. We came expecting lowkey karaoke and it was highkey karaoke. If you want a nice place to hang out with drinks and the ability to talk to your party this is not the place. The music is really really loud. If you wanna sing with your friends, this place is perfect but just not for me.

3.5, Drinks were great! Security was great! Bartender was attentive and they had enough space for our group on a late Thursday night. The three stars is for the DJ who skipped my karaoke song request after waiting probably less then a min. Then when addressed about it they thought it would funny to give me the opportunity but throw unprofessional shots about hopefully I pay attention this time when the previous time wasn’t given enoug time to respond. Seems like they only want to karaoke specific type of songs as mine was “Mary Jane” so make sure you don’t request let’s say too urban.

We were pleased that the bar has two halves, one with karaoke and the other without. Even more pleasing was the fact that the sound from the karaoke didn't really bleed across to the other area of the bar. We came in for some cocktails, and we came to the right place. I recommend NOT ordering from the main cocktail menu (old fashioned with root beer?!) but instead order the drinks your like directly from the bartenders who are excellent. The place does close quite early, but we are told that is a city ordinance for that area of the city and outside their control. There was also some restriction about people on the outside patio area, I am not sure what it was exactly but we got told 5 or 6 different times about it well in advance of the time that the restriction takes place. Good to be warned I suppose, but it was a bit much. "in an hour you can't be out here" again and again. Still, overall a good spot and a solid 4 star in my opinion

Great crowd - all ages, welcoming to everyone. The karaoke was terrific - fun and energetic. We found Brando's after our bar closed at 11:30 . It was great fun for another couple hours!

A very cool speakeasy! Was here from out of town and went on a Monday and Wednesday. No sign outside just a neon martini glass. No special knock needed though! Very nice atmosphere l, a little dark (as it should be) and a fun crowd. Karaoke every night, which is a blast! The bartender is super nice and makes an amazing Old Fashioned. Easy to make friends and a fun place to grab a drink and/or sing! Definitely recommend!

I love Brando’s!!! I have been here several times now for cocktails and karaoke. The vibes are perfect! They have an app to select your karaoke songs which makes the process really smooth and you can see your place in line on the TV screens. They have good song selection and GREAT drinks! I also like that they have a back room in case you want a break from karaoke!

If you are in the Chicago area just looking for something chill to get into Brando’s is definitely a cool spot. The drinks are really good and the karaoke is super fun. I had a blast here.

We went in there and didn’t stay long before we decided to leave. The vibe was off, and the karaoke was extremely loud and killed the vibe. The staff were not friendly, nor helpful. We sat in the east room, and we waited there for a long time nobody greet us. I would definitely label this is a normal karaoke bar instead of a nice speakeasy. Did not even try their drink, so cannot say how good they are.

We just went to the bar side of Brando's. It was nice and comfortable inside. The music playing was loud, but we were able to talk and still hear each other. It was happy hour, and the bartender took good care of us. A larger crowd started to appear closer to 7, but nothing unruly. The atmosphere is dark, but that fits the mood perfectly. We did order a small pizza since dinner was a little ways off. It was excellent. For just a sausage pizza, I thought the taste was great, and the crust was spot on. Don't let the choice of just pizza turn you off, this could've been a meal if we ordered a large, and enjoyed that too. Overall, we will definitely stop in again if we are in the area. Perfect spot to start a great date night or evening out.

A nice little place with two separate areas (one for karaoke and one that is not). It is nice because you can go to the separate area and the karaoke is not overbearing so you can have more quiet conversations. There is also an outside seating area for when the weather is nice. The cocktails are ~$16 and the cover was $5 dollar per person in cash only. One less star because there was no card option for the cover.

  • 5/5 Lauren S. 1 year ago on Google
Such a fun night out! Even though the place was absolutely packed, we were still able to get drinks easily, have a conversation, and enjoy the "show"... Make sure to have cash for the cover charge if you don't want to get hit with an ATM Fee

So much more to this place than Karaoke. If you're looking for a late afternoon (5-7 pm) cocktail in an intimate setting, this is the place. Chill music, dark and pleasantly welcoming. We sat in the smaller of the two bar-rooms and were entertained by the knowledgeable and really pleasant mixologist bar manager and his assistant in training. They couldn't have been nicer. We just told them the sort of drinks we like and they did the mixing to bring us some new great martinis. Thanks guys, we had a great time!

I wouldn't call this a Speakeasy as its very obvious it's a bar and super easy to find but Karaoke night was awesome on Saturday! The place was packed but everyone was having fun and singing along. Drinks were really good and decently priced. There was a cover at the door. We didn't have seats the whole time and never ended up getting to sing because there were so many people in line (and people were paying the DJ to go sooner) but it was still super fun and I'd go again (maybe just earlier to get a chance to sing).

I went on both Friday and Saturday night and had so much fun! There is a $10 cover fee but it is so worth it. The bartenders were working hard and I never had to wait for service even in a packed bar. Everyone sings along and everyone is kind. Both nights we only waited for a few minutes and we were able to find prime seating. It was a really great addition to our vacation.

This is by far the best Karaoke spot in Chicago! The DJ is super cool and chill! they have any song you want to sing!!! Shout out to Danny Jahnke, he provided phenomenal service! What an excellent bar tender! They were so busy and he did it all alone with quality professionalism! The way he treated his customers was Grade A, I thought he was the owner of the establishment. I'm from out of state and was very impressed!

Amazing little place in Chicago. Fantastic service. Everyone was incredibly nice. It was the bartender, Derek, first shift and he killed it. Very good drinks and atmosphere.

My wife and I love it here. The staff is very friendly and inviting and made us feel welcome the very first time we came by. Been back a few times since then. Get in early because it gets packed on the weekends!

With my terriblevision, I had a little difficulty finding this place... but once I did, it was a cozy bar. A lot of different people, music, and things to see. The restroom was clean, so that was a bonus. The bartenders were nice, helpful and friendly. I probably want to visit here again, so that I can soak up the atmosphere better. This time with glasses, and less things to carry. The vibe and lighting was decent. Also, the patrons there were quite the unique types. I had fun people watching, as well as being invited for a shot before heading out to go home.

Small place but it's poppin' on a Saturday night! We got there around 1 AM and there were about 20 people on the wait list for karaoke. I'd like to check it out when it's less crowded. They also serve pizza late!

Came here on a whim with a friend! I’m pregnant and can’t drink but decided to have a cocktail without. My friend and I ordered the Mango habanero lime cocktail and it was amazing! (My friend ordered alcohol and agreed!) The bartender and all staff were super sweet and lovely. We enjoyed the speakeasy ambiance and felt like drinks were appropriately priced. Highly recommend!

Good room, good mix of people and karaoke was solid. No place to sit and the mask enforcement was understandable but they were pretty rude about it. Place just had a bad vibe for me.
