Beautiful hotel, but there were a few issues. 1.Overall my room was clean, however there were long black hairs on the bathroom floor, in the bathtub, AND on top of the bedding. Gross. 2. A member of the cleaning staff went through my belongings and stole a pair of diamond earrings that I had brought for my trip. The earrings were fake, but the fact that the individual who cleaned my room went through my belongings to then find the little bag I had them in is really unfortunate. I was told by the hotel that they would call me if the earrings appeared. That’s it. Very disappointing. Needless to say I won’t be staying at this hotel in the future and definitely won’t be recommending it.

All I can say is this place is in the heart of the magnificent mile so there's plenty to do in any direction you walk. Beautiful hotel the second you see it, to the clean & gorgeous lobby, beautiful brunch patio & dining areas plus a lavish bar. Even the elevators were nice. It was extremely clean & even a basic room is worth the price with all the amenities you get, a bathroom we wanna take home, nice views, and they pamper you here. Hospitality is through the roof. Favorite hotel downtown & there are tons of nice places to stay at, so to us this one stands out.

After searching for a five star hotel it was necessary to be in a certain city. Chicago! The overall experience was a fantastic, French themed, hotel. I didn't go for ground floor but went up few levels. The mattresses were pillows soft from a pillow mat. The view was very good but I think I want to find somewhere where I can look over the whole city. I do not know if this is available. Comfortable stay, fantastic staff, exquisite breakfast if you choose to upgrade to breakfast. Truly French experience.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying just a few times and each time was great! The rooms are nice and clean! The staff is always pleasant and swift at check in! The hallways are always quiet! I had a reservation at Le Bar my last stay and the steak dinner was the best! I sat at the bar, the drinks were very good and the service from staff was pleasant. A perfect experience every time I have stayed. Will be booking a stay very soon.

We were very happy with our stay. This is our second time staying here. Location of the hotel is very convenient; the room is decent and good size; nespresso in room; stand alone shower and bathtub is separated which is always a plus to me. The bed is on the soft plushy side but I didn’t mind since overall value for the stay is superior than most of the hotels in this area. The staffs are super friendly and accommodating. From check-in to check-out, everyone is so welcoming and polite. (Thank you Jason for finding me a late night dinner plate and utensils.)

Beautiful hotel. Exceptional service. I look forward to my next stay! This is located in a beautiful architectural building which makes it even more exceptional. I hope I can get a tour next time I'm in town. I had a beautiful view on all sides. It's located in the perfect spot for anything you'd like to do in Chicago. The bar in the hotel is fun and nice. Their shrimp cocktail was exceptional! Can't go wrong here! My room was very comfortable and they were very accommodating. I have a bad back and they brought me extra pillows twice. Personally I would prefer a nicer mattress but the linens were great. They accommodated our request for daily cleaning and laundry despite their efforts to save the planet and cut back. The service here was on par with the best hotel I've ever stayed at in London. Brilliant!

I was told to leave because I’m 20 years old, and they were unwilling to ‘be put at risk legally’ due to my stay there. Usually, hotels I’ve been to previously just remove alcohol and that’s it. This hotel said they don’t have the minibar in the first place, but we’re afraid of selling it to me in the restaurant. I don’t drink in the first place, and I warned them about liquor, so that was extremely insulting. My stay was fully paid for, and yet they wouldn’t check me in the hotel. I had to find another hotel nearby, and it was late at night so I was tired and didn’t argue further. While she was registering me though, the lady at the front desk took calls as well, which was unprofessional, because you’re supposed to focus on one client at a time. The fact that I paid for it - they couldn’t return my money immediately - not for 3-5 business days at least, and it was a Friday night, therefore I’d be getting my money at the end of the trip only, which is very uncomfortable, because I had to pay for another hotel and this one, so I could spend less during the trip itself. This is the magnificent mile, the shipping district, and those 2000 dollars wouldn’t be returned to me when I need them… I find the hotel disgusting and don’t recommend. The manager told me to go to AC hotel - which is of way lower quality….because they can accept guests from 18+. The entrance is nothing special, so is the vestibule, the customer service is obvious abysmal. Awful hotel in general. There’s a better hotel nearby - the one I stayed in last time I was in Chicago - Viceroy - it’s 5 min walk from this one, so location is the same, and it’s more expensive, but the staff there are extremely helpful and nice, and the breakfasts are huge!

In town for a wedding. Stayed here for 5 days. Excellent customer service especially post pandemic. They had room service...yah! & housekeeping around the clock. The fact that this property is on the Magnificent Mile was a bonus...so much to do!! 👍👍👍

Had a wonderful experience at the hotel doing my new year celebration! I truly appreciate Josh for his help with a check in situation, system went down so wasn’t able to check in for a hour. Josh was patient, nice and accommodating. Greatly appreciated the customer service of him and the young lady who welcomed us coming in

What an amazing experience and we just checked in. At the reception desk Joshua greeted us with the biggest smile and such warmth i felt totally welcomed. He asked if we were celebrating anything special and I told him today is my husbands birthday and he immediately acknowledged that he would do something special for us. Our room is stunning on a high floor and it’s all because Joshua went a step above to make sure our birthday celebration weekend Chicago got off to an excellent start! Once we got to the room it’s so clean, well appointed and even the view is wonderful! We are thoroughly enjoying our stay!!

Great location, service, scenic views, amenities, awesome food, and luxury bedding. Sofitel is an experience you want to say you've had. I've frequent this hotel over others due to it's beautiful view of the city and the stable wifi it has when I do lounge in my room & work from my laptop. Being on the Magnificent Mile, you're invited to explore all Chicago has to offer as soon as you step foot outside the hotel doors too! So if you're a tourist, you won't be disappointed. I would also like to add, the design of the building is unlike any other downtown hotel in the city.

The location is very convenient and not that busy like other hotels on the Michigan ave. Room cleanliness and size is good for Chicago standards. Housekeeping is a bit slow also room service. The price was reasonable for off-season time

Best place to stay in Chicago! Clean, fast and friendly service. Great eating options nearby and a small grocery store as well. Perfect get away. 10 miles from the airport or about $45 bucks. Cheaper than one night of parking ;)

We booked at Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile for our wedding block in July of 2021. We chose Sofitel for our guests for the amazing location, comfortable rooms, and beautiful suites. If I could do it all again, I would NOT use Sofitel for our wedding block. Despite over a year of planning and communication with our liaison, Christine, the staff working that weekend had 0 knowledge of the events we had planned at Sofitel for our family and guests that weekend, including an “after party” at Le Bar following our wedding reception and a Farewell Brunch the Sunday after our wedding. It was very disappointing and embarrassing the lack of preparation and competence from Sofitel, especially when our events were discussed in great length with Christine just 1 week before our wedding and all the details were confirmed. I would strongly encourage engaged couples to look elsewhere for their wedding block.

This has become our go to place when staying in Chicago. The hotel staff is quite helpful and accommodating. Everybody is 5-star. The room we stayed in was entirely comfortable, great amenities and very quiet. The value of the hotel far exceeds the price for a room. With various car services available it's just as easy to get to any point in the city. PS: Le Bar is a must visit.

Another great stay at the Sofitel. Amazing service from the moment we arrived to the time we left. Rooms are clean and a great size. I stay 3 nights with my wife and 2 kids. Had an amazing view from our floor. Had breakfast in bed and food was great. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking about coming to Chicago. You are right by the Magnificent Mile. Lots of restaurants within walking distance or just stay at the hotel and eat at their restaurants for lunch or dinner. Will be back soon.

We had an amazing stay at Sofitel. Just stayed for one night— staycation from the suburbs. The staff was so accommodating even before we arrived (asking about arrival time, parking, if we were celebrating anything). We were able to get a room on the top floor which was phenomenal… Unobstructed west facing view. Rooms were on the smaller side but the beds were so comfortable and room was exceptionally clean. We got room service that was delicious as well! All the staff were so nice.

From the moment of arrival to departure, the staff was impeccable. Not that it is needed, just a great touch - the staff 9 out of 10 times always opened the doors for us, coming and leaving every time. I was greeted by a very kind manager on duty who checked me in and talked me through all the hotel had to offer. Once in my room, I soon realized how cozy it was, specifically the bed. And the room was very spacious, and what a view. =) The gym had all I needed and Le Bar was a perfect place for late night drink or quick bite.

Kia was wonderful. I came in for my sister's birthday party, and we had to find a room last minute. I came in & she made things so easy and convenient. We were able to get to our room and get dressed in good time. Excellent service

We had a nice stay overall. The flip latch locking mechanism on our door was ripped off of the door, so we couldn't secure our door. We didn't bother to report as it felt quite safe, but I was surprised that they would offer this room as the hotel didn't seem to be full. Also we had to valet to use the charger in the parking garage which cost 70/night. That seems pretty silly to me and was the reason we choose this hotel. Will probably not return.

The staff at this hotel was amazing. The facilities were okay. Location was fine. Amenities and pricing was unrealistic considering that the hotel seemingly strives to fit into the 5-star category. At best, it should be in the 4-star category, though there are many 3-star hotels over which the Chicago Sofitel has very little—if anything—on. Asking to have a small box with pizza microwave-heated will have you hearing that the receptionists do not have access to microwaves, which will in turn get you a janky mini-microwave with so many scratches and barely “clean” on the inside delivered to your room with a $50-$60 convenience fee (which they do not disclose). If you book through a third party, make sure to ask for a list of all additional fees. I was charged hotel taxes and an additional charge with a description too generic that I’d have to call the hotel for clarity. The Sofitel Chicago is extremely unremarkable.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel was clean. We were there for the marathon it was easy to get around l was even able to walk to the start line. My kids enjoyed it. After the race they provided me with buckets of ice which was awesome for the ice bath.

Overall accommodation and room amenity was great...the only short coming (prevented a 9-10 score)was around room view of roof top with metal hoist and person on the roof that startled us when we opened the curtain. The front desk gave us a quiet room but not the best view. The room heat did not seem to work properly as we had the room set at almost 76-77 deg to stay warm with very noisy fan blowing. Aside from this, the bed sheet comforter was very nice and bathroom marble layout with adequate spacing was very good. Morning breakfast was nice also. We would consider coming back if given the right room and much better view.

This is not a 5-star hotel. Mattresses are worn-out, some towels are thinning with small holes, rooms are clean-ish, at best. Looking for the good - bed linens are very nice; high quality, although the mattress has an indentation from where it's been slept on for the last 10 years. Facilities are limited and staff are not focused. Restaurant service is slow, staff are uninterested and distracted. A simple breakfast dragged on for almost an hour. The good - the gym is top notch and well maintained. While the location is convenient, if you are looking for a true 5-star hotel...keep looking. UPDATE: Upon checking out I was presented with a bill for the 'resort fee' ($20/night + tax); of $70 for 3 nights...surprise :)

My boyfriend took me here for a romantic weekend date. I am looking forward to coming back. The vibe of the hotel is classy without being pretentious. The rooms were spacious and immaculately clean. The bar had a great selection of cocktails and the servers were elegant yet down to earth and friendly. The restaurant was delicious and had the best brunch steak and eggs I’ve ever had. Valet was timely and courteous, our car was well cared for. The area is safe and a great spot for nightlife. I thought the complimentary umbrellas were a nice touch and we certainly put them to use as it was raining but we badly wanted to walk around and see downtown Chicago.

The hotel lives up to expectations as being at the higher quality end of Accor Hotels brands. Staff were all very friendly and helpful whether providing housekeeping, on reception, in the breakfast restaurant or the bar. Generous size bedroom with plenty of storage and large accompanying bathroom. The location was good both in terms of choice of places to eat within walking distance and ease of access to the L train system for getting around Chicago, with a station just a couple of hundred metres away. My only minor issues was that the toilet paper seemed surprisingly thin and cheap for this grade of hotel and that there was no non-slip plastic/rubber mat provided for the shower tray.

The room was very nice, I liked the little features like pillow menu, robes and slippers in the room, and plenty of hangers for our clothes! Nice shower and tub. Bed was very comfy. Room service was good. The location was excellent.

Great location near many restaurants, drug stores, grocery stores, near the magnificent mile. Nice restaurants at the hotel, the breakfast was wonderful, with a perfect omelet, seasoned potatoes and the best pot of coffee they place at your table. Service at the Sofitel is outstanding from all the staff! This place is so accommodating to all your needs. Perfect place to stay and close to bus lines and subway, very easy to get around. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.

I love this hotel because it is only a block away from where my mom lives. The hotel did a wonderful job accommodating my infant son ahead of our arrival. Also, they were very generous with their waters. Highly recommend.

I have stayed many times before at the Chicago location because two of my sons went to school in the area. Each time it has been a wonderful experience. On this last visit, I came alone unaccompanied but I never felt unsafe or alone. I was taken care of by everyone, especially by the receptionist who made sure I knew I had access to water at all times (no plastic bottles!). The housekeeper on my floor, Sheena, pampered me with attention since I stayed several days. All was flawless.

From check-in to check-out, this was a terrific stay. The location couldn't have been better for us, and the hotel itself was even better than expected. Comfortable room (fantastic beds), friendly and professional staff throughout the hotel (front desk, bell, housekeeping, restaurant), amazing breakfast (so many gluten-free options!) -- everything ensured we will be back here again every time we visit our family in Chicago.

Fantastic hotel. Accommodations are wonderful. Staff go above and beyond. Room service was mediocre at best…limited options, just ok food quality, and overall poor service. Waited 2.5 hours for room service. Granted, they did comp the charge for food, but none of the fees. 5star hotel, 3star room service.

Top-notch service at this hotel. Worth every penny. Let me explain my situation: I got in my room, I was feeling a little faint, I don’t have access to a snicker bar or anything that will give me the sugar that I need it, but I called the front desk, which by the way with the new burden of labor struggle in the midst of a pandemic, Elaine, a security guard answered the room service phone when it was previously announced as being an unavailable service. I told her my situation, she went out of her way to deliver me this cold Diet Coke. In my opinion you are Rocking it, when you care that much about your customer. Kudos to a great hotel who hired a great employee

Visited Chicago for the first time with my partner and stayed at the Sofitel and loved it! Our room was great! It was spacious with great views. The fitness center and restaurants were also great. Only thing missing was a rooftop deck. Location is great with lots of shopping and restaurants near by.

Very nice hotel, although my mini bar was completely empty and not restocked AT ALL. That was first time I’ve ever stayed in a room where the fridge had literally nothing in it and I’m not even sure the fridge even worked.

What a professional and welcoming hotel. Truly one of the best hotels to stay at in the city. I had a slight misunderstanding with one of their customer service representatives over the phone which caused an issue of misinformation regarding my reservation. However, the front desk concierge was very patient and realized the issue fairly quickly. They were very understanding and resolved the problem smoothly and effectively. If I could give the concierge 10 stars I would!

My wife booked us a stay at The Sofitel Hotel, and I must say what a excellent choice it was. Great atmosphere, awesome room service, Le Bar terrific. Front desk service above and beyond. Valet attendant Kenny had our car ready and waiting out front each morning before we could even call down for it! Scott and Jessica from front desk too nice to be true. I could go on and on about our much needed weekend getaway @ The Sofitel. We're definitely returning hopefully soon.

Enjoyed everything, location was ideal some places in walking distance others a short Uber ride. Room was nicer than I expected. Check in and out easy and they contacted me before I arrived as well as after my stay. A little pricey but we'll worth the money

A really nice experience from start to finish. Nice spacious rooms, staff provide excellent service. Food in the restaurant and breakfast excellent. No coffee maker in the room, but coffee in the lobby without charge. Only negative was the cost of parking that seemed high.

Paid in full with British Airways yet hotel trying to charge me nightly fee 6 payments declined on my card. 3 times I had to go back to reception to sort the issue out. If I hadn't have used my travel card I wouldn't have had any money left for my holiday. Didn't even get an apology and still waiting for my deposit back. Poor service for a 5 star hotel.

My stay for a weekend was enjoyable. Everyone I interacted with was helpful and had good energy. Le Bar had imbalanced cocktails and the meal I had was not all that good. For breakfast I had a relatively soggy croissant. For most places it wouldn’t bother me that much but for the quality and price Sofitel commands, both were quite disappointing.

I have always had a lovely experience with this Sofitel, and I'm glad this particular conference brings us back here every year! The staff (everyone.. from Valets to Front Desk to Housekeeping) is always wonderful and pleasant to deal with and I always enjoy my stay here! Also, love the location: convenient to Michigan Ave and great shopping and restaurants.

We chose the Sofitel because it was close to Loyola University’s Water Tower campus. It was a great location and within walking distance of many of the restaurants, bars and sites that we visited. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed and the bed was super comfortable with amazing sheets!! We will definitely stay here again when visiting Chicago.

Customer service was fantastic (especially Kia at the front desk and the bartenders at Le Bar). The room was clean with great views. There is complimentary coffee every morning. The hotel restaurant served great food. The location of the hotel is perfect - walking distance to the water, great restaurants and great shopping. We will definitely be back!
