Such a beautiful park if you're looking for a place a little away from the busyness of the city. It's tucked away in Chinatown, so it's almost kind of a hidden gem. You get such an amazing view of the whole city at the north end of the park. There's a playground for children, a lot of benches along the river path. I can't wait to come back here in the summer :) If you're from Chicago or just visiting I would highly recommend checking this out.

One of our favorite chicago parks. Along the river between 2 very cool old bridges. In Chinatown and had murals and architecture that suits that neighborhood. Great place for a walk. Great views of the city too. Not crowded. Be aware the restrooms are not open this time of year and you may be delayed in leaving by a freight train. Worth it!

Nice park to walk through and hang out. REI actually has a little location down here where you can rent kayaks which was cool

I really enjoy coming to this park when I go to Chinatown . I have been coming here for years !! Nice place for a walk while in the city .. Nice views of the river with cool buildings in the background … In the summer it’s really nice to walk the further tails that have a lot of swollow tails that grow high up fun to walk them while they are that high .. In the summer you can do a kayak rental haven’t tryed that yet but definitely got to soon .. Cool little Pagoda you can stand in while looking at the water with the buildings in the back ground .

I enjoyed my walk after dinner in this lovely urban park. The city skyline view was unmatched. I’d love to come back one day to enjoy a delicious meal in Chinatown then walk along the waterfront admiring the Chicago skyline. You should watch out for geese poop though!

Beautiful park that’s an easy walk from the south loop. Was happy to see it is a water taxi stop and there are kayak rentals here. Gorgeous street art around and friendly geese that make visits pleasant.

Tucked away between apartment buildings, this is a beautiful park for a quick walk or for some peace and tranquility. Being in Chinatown, the architecture style pays homage to the local ethnic culture. It’s right on the river as well, so one can probably kayak. There’s a kids playground section as well with slides etc.

This is a really cool park by the river tucked into Chinatown with not quite a secret entrance, but it does cross a train track to really get into- but that’s almost thrilling. There are a lot of walking paths and boulders (small boulders to like sit on but you’re not up more than 3 feet). There are plenty of shaded benches with a riverview. Lots of cool fruit trees and a cool rubber ground playground for young kids and a separate rubber ground area for yoga. There were a lot of people fishing. There is a place to rent kayaks and go into the river. There were a ton of wildflowers. Great southern perspective of the skyline for pictures. There was a guy walking his parrot!

Nice park, but it’s not as big as I thought it’d be. It’s sort of enclosed, so you forget you’re in Chicago until the Amtrak comes by. Could be a good spot to kayak or have a picnic, and there’s a good sized park for kids.

I love this park. At first I did not think much of it but its massive. It's by the water and has a playground for kids. I see alot of elders taking a stroll or doing stretches here. The walls are painted beautifully which really gives it a vibrant and beautiful vibe. Very relaxing with a beautiful breath taking views as well. It seems like there's more construction so it seems to be expanding. I can't wait to visit again.

My friend took me here and now I took others here when they visit town. A cute less-touristy place to check out with great view and photo spots!

A beautiful park. It’s nice for a walk next to the lake. Felt safe. The only thing the kids play area is dirty and it can use a renovation. You have to look for parking around the streets, most likely you will have to pay for the parking.

This park is a walkable spot from Chinatown. Nice for a walk on a warm day and good site to see 2 types of bridges on the lake water in Chicago.

I went there today to look for a spot for a portrait shoot and found some neat spots with nice backgrounds that would work well. Some of the buildings of Downtown Chicago are visible as you can see from the park, and there is a cool Chinese style gazebo right when you enter the park.

Great place for a walk nearby the strip! Not super crowded. There were performers doing spoken word, dancing and interactive pieces w the audience when we went. A very welcoming place by far!

Been to Chicago five times and I got to know this park on a cruise tour on the Chicago River. Visited the park the following day. Sad to know this park is not well promoted nor is Ping Tom and his advocacy work. Beautiful setting and inspirational story represented. This is what Chicago stands for: diversity, progressive, and inclusion!

It is amazing how Chicago finds a way to create tranquil, serene and beautiful spaces in even the most unlikely locations. This park is so well hidden, it provides a great mode of escape from the super-frenetic and busy streets of Chinatown. Located on the shore of the Chicago river, adjacent to an industrial area, it's a nice spot to enjoy quiet time alone, enjoy a picnic with friends from one of Chinatown's many wonderful restaurants, or take the kids to play in the colorful playground. This park also offers boat rentals for those interested in touring the Chicago River. The Willow trees and beautifully kept greenery makes this a beautiful spot visit.

A truly beautiful place that offers stunning views of the city’s skyline. There is a cute playground attached that would be great for children. The park also borders the river, so you get some great shots.

Short walk from chinatown. This great place if your visiting and want a view of the city from the south along the chicago river. The park has wandering pathways amongst the native prairie landscape. Best to go during spring when flowers are blooming and sunset for amazing photo opportunities. This park seems to be a refuge for geese! there are lot of geese excrement on the sidewalks. so watch where you are stepping. The geese here are more aggressive and will attack you if they feel threatened, so do not approach them. Park is kid friendly and has a playground for children. Kayaks are available here and you can also catch the water taxi from this location.

Ping Tom Memorial Park is a beautiful location close to the river, with great views of Chicago. We stopped by Ping Tom Memorial Park while waiting to meet a friend. The size immediately struck me: 6 acres of riverside views are nothing to scoff at, and the numerous benches and tables make it a perfect location to sit and read a book. Railfans will also delight at the Illinois Central Railroad line running through the park. It's a great location to spot trains! Overall, the Ping Tom Memorial Park is a great location for anyone looking for riverside views or railroad tracks. Its proximity to Chinatown makes it a great location to stop by on your way to dinner and appreciate the views.

Such a beautiful park right along the Chicago River with great panoramic views of the city. I wish someone would empty the trash bins. Chinatown is awesome. We parked right around the corner from the park and just a couple blocks from the downtown Chinatown center. It's a great place

Still one of my favorite parks in the city. It has one of the best views of the skyline anywhere, and it always feels peaceful, even when there are a lot of people around. It's a perfect retreat from the streets. It's also a great spot to launch your kayak from. I love the homage to Chinese culture, from design and architecture styles to flora native to China, all thoughtfully landscaped. I wish every ethnic neighborhood in Chicago had such a beautiful tribute to their respective cultures!

A lovely and recently expanded little park along the river in Chinatown. Great for a stroll amongst local foliage and water.

This is such a cool park! There are nice walking paths and some spectacular views of the skyline and river. Definitely a must-see if you're in Chinatown, but also worth a visit in general!

Great park with great views to take great pictures for couples and families. There is a water taxi that comes through this park that can take ylu downtown. Also other cruise boats come here on the Chicago River with tourists. The parking is very scarce in Chinatown, so my suggestion is to park on Wentworth for about an hour in order to check out this park which normally would cost about 3.75. Also there is an education piece to this park to see why the park was named after Tom Ping; which is on the statue of Tom Ping in the park.

A nice little park named and honored a local business leader, Ping Tom, for his dedication, service, and contribution to the community. The annual Dragon Boat race is held at this park. This park is also a Water Taxi stop from Michigan Ave. The park may be small, but it is a busy park due to tourism that needs someone to take care of the trash bins. Every trash and recycle bin is overfilled. The park needs to invest a bathroom for park goers and tourist.

Got married here! This place has iconic views that brings melodies to your mind. It's gorgeous. Fun. Family friendly. Great for date night. Girls picnics. And weddings 😉 Seriously, this place has an awesome park, fun waterfront, lots of views and people watching, perfect trails for bike riding or scooters (our fave), beautiful murals, peace for wine in the park...

Good park, beautiful views of Chicago, parking was a little difficult, lots of geese. It was hard to find a clean area to sit on, it’s still a great park and I will definitely go again.

Beautiful park with no PARKING nearby. I couldn't find any parking spot around. All street parkings need Permit (it's for residents). Park has a playground and rails passed through the park entrance, that's where you need to watch your kids. The park is a 5 but due to parking issue I gave it 3 starts.

Wonderful atmosphere, best park to walk around in for free. Geese are cool, ducks are friendly but stand their ground, I absolutely love going to Joy Yee, get a drink, then walk to Ping Tom Park for a stroll. Really nice for a sunny afternoon. Ideal for sunrises, nighttime, and mid-day. (Photo taken on June 25th, 2020)

Beautiful park in Chinatown. You can see the downtown view from here. There’s also a playground for the kiddos. Lots of birds (mainly robin, sparrows, and Canada goose)

The hubby and I just started fishing this summer and have been to about 6 if not more different spots and this was by far the best fishing spot thus far. You pay to park on the main st and walk not to far to the park. The atmosphere and energy we felt was so peaceful, we didn’t realize that we had spent about 5 hrs fishing. It was slow at first as boats were passing by, but after trying different baits/lures. We had finally started getting bites and caught one. May not seem a lot but keep in mind, we’re still new to this wonderful sport!!!! This is now our go to spot and hope you have a chance to check it out and have as much luck and fun as we have

Nice walking path, need to clean up though, I like the two big wall pictures there under the tunnel.

Spacious park with beautiful view of the city! Playground itself is in great shape. Porta potties on-site. Be aware that there are at least two or three gate entrances to the playground, though one was padlocked at the time of visiting. The other gates couldn't latch shut (broken) so just keep that in mind if you have littles running about.

Beautiful park! Walked my dog here in the morning and we both loved it! It’s right by the river and you get a really nice view of the city. It’s very clean and family friendly!

I have been to Ping Tom Park a few times now and it’s great every time. Less than a 10 minute walk from Archer Square, it’s great to get takeout and have a picnic in the park. It has gorgeous views of the city and the river and plenty of wild flowers, birds, and butterflies during summer months. Rei kayak rental is located in the park too which is a great time for more adventurous visitors. Last time i visited the park there was a free rave event going on which was cool, if that’s your style. Over all great park!
