Splendid views of the city. We started the cruise around 8:30 Pm(close to sunset) and Chicago is a totally different city in the night lights. Joe, the tour guide/architectural guru/voracious guide/funny and charming as he is, made the tour so enjoyable. I appreciate the city so much more because of his lovely insights. The entire 75 minutes was not boring because of joe. Highly recommend this tour no matter how short of a time you’re at Chicago. My suggestion would be to try the evening tour(The day tour would be great too I’m sure). The architectural tours are only during weekends. 10/10!!!

This tour was awesome! Antonio was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable. We went at 7:30 and it started off with some daylight and then it began to get dark and the buildings were even more beautiful as the night went on. I definitely recommend the 730 pm tour. Antonio was very knowledgeable and also gave us advice on where to go eat in Chinatown. My friend and I had a great time. Worth every penny!

Great services, we went in the afternoon. However, I heard the night time is great. We had Dave who I believe said he is a historian and was very knowledgeable and easy to follow. There is a lot of information to follow and I wonder if some sort of info pamphlet can be provided for people who want to take notes. Or something with the buildings and room for note taking. The buildings were beautiful and hearing the history around them was a great experience. The boat ride was safe and comfortable.

We were blessed with a balmy Saturday morning in Chicago, and decided to use our GoCity pass to experience a Shoreline Sightseeing Architecture River Cruise. It was very busy on board due to the fantastic weather, but there was still plenty of space to enjoy the stunning skyline of Chicago. The tour guide Megan was superb, talking through some of the famous buildings along the River in Chicago. It was also a bit of a history lesson on architecture not only in Chicago but across the whole of America. I would highly recommend the tour, even if you’re not that interested in Architecture, as they tour is presented in a fun and not overbearing way.

I ❤️❤️❤️Shoreline. & best value ticket package is --2 days All Ports Pass for $69. If you like boat rides like me, get this package. You get 1. 75 minute Chicago River Architecture Tour. 2.45 minutes Skyline Lake Tour Day Pass. 3.River Taxi Day Pass. It's a great bargain. & I love every single ride so far.

We had this boat tour included as part of our citypass package and it was absolutely fantastic. Our guide Megan was really good at her job, and what she had to say about the different buildings was really interesting and engaging. She could not have been better. The tour was a good duration, and the boat was comfortable. Overall it greatly exceed my expectations and I would definitely recommend this tour if you’re in Chicago and looking for something cool to do!

This is a 75 minute safe family friendly cruise along the Chicago River. This is a must do when visiting Chicago, they are the birth place of the skyscraper and there are plenty of them along the Chicago River. This is a very educational and relaxing tour. Becky, our cruise ship director, made it fun and interesting. (I thought she was hilarious) Luckily we had perfect weather to enjoy the open top boat. There is inside seating downstairs with wash room and bar. The dockside location is easy to find and all staff was friendly.

This was one of the most interested guided tours I have ever been on. We didn’t know what to do one and someone mentioned take the river boat architecture tour. I laughed it off at first however they insisted we do it. Boy was he not wrong!!! This tour was intriguing entertaining enlightening and educational. I highly recommend this when you are in downtown Chicago. It runs for about 1 and 1/2 hrs from dock to dock and is moderately priced. 2 thumbs way up.

Very nice trip with friendly staff. The guide is very knowledgeable about architectures around the canal, I'm impressed that there are so many stories behind Chicago. The whole landscape is very stunning, however, I wouldn't recommend it if it's too cold, try to make good wind production before boarding, and don't get up the cruise without Sunglasses.

Definitely a highlight of our trip! The tour guide was great. We took the 5:30 ride when it was dark out and the city looked magical. Our ship was pretty empty, which made things feel more personal. Definitely dress warm if you are in a colder month!

I just moved to Chicago and I can tell that most people are polite and nice but our host Brooke just took that to the next level. The route was amazing, vessel was clean and in compliance with all safety measures, even a cool bar is on board. The final cherry of the cake was an genuine-outstanding speech dedicated to this amazing city. Not just worth it but it’s a must, thank you so much!

This was probably the best and most informative tourist thing that we did while here in Chicago. Our tour guide, Joe, was very knowledgeable and provided a plethora of information on the buildings in town while making it fun. I learned some great things about the architecture and design of the buildings. The ride itself was very smooth. They do have a bar and bathroom downstairs (on the boat we were on). Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to explore Chicago.

We did both the River Architecture Cruise and the Lake View Cruise. Our guide on the architecture cruise, Jim, was very informative and entertaining. We originally just booked the architecture cruise and at the end they said we could add the lake cruise for an additional $16. Later in the day we just happened to be near Navy Pier and decided to check out the lake cruise. It turns out it was only $5 for some reason. What a deal.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Was able to buy tickets for me and my group that same day online. We truly enjoyed the tour and views. The tour guide was fantastic and funny. My only negative review is towards the lack of information and instructions they provide. Chicago is a huge city, and for tourists like myself, it was hard to know what the parking situation is and where exactly the pick up would be at. Again, that's just just additional info I think would be useful to everyone who is interested. You are able to get on a later ride time if you don't make yours just confirm with staff.

Jeremy was our docent for the afternoon tour. He was wonderful, knowledgeable, and funny. I was intrigued and entertained the entire tour. The hour went by quickly and I left wanting to learn more. There were no issues with the tour and I would go back for another tour if the opportunity arises.

This tour is a great way to learn about the history and architecture of Chicago. We had the pleasure of having Brooke as our tour guide. She was both informative and funny. Despite the windy, rainy weather we were engaged in her enthusiastic delivery of the tour. The tour also offers a lot of great photo opportunities. Totally worth checking it out!

This was a great way to ease into Chicago! After a long flight, we didn’t have the energy for a walking tour or museum so this was a perfect alternative. It was a great way to see the city’s famous architecture, and our tour guide was entertaining and informative. Highly recommend!

The shoreline sightseeing architectural tour is a must. I was able to take a ride on the boat and will recommend it to anyone. The ride is so smooth and the tour guide had great communication skills. This is a bucket list item if you are in Chicago. The prices seem reasonable for the it being a tour and the 75 minutes was perfect time. There is a bar on the boat which is a plus. The views are amazing and regardless the time you take the tour, I’m sure it will be worth it.

What a fantastic tour! We enjoyed it so much that we even decided to go twice on it- during the day, and the night time. The views are impressive, and in combination with interesting stories from guides - it was amazing. Special thanks to Joe! He is a wonderful guide. I wish we had more cash with us to tip him properly.

The 75 min architectural tour was exactly what we wanted. Just long enough to get in the sites and info. Highly recommend going right as the sun is setting bc your photos will be magical. Jack was a fantastic docent. Very knowledgeable and a great speaking tone. Phil’s a great bartender, tip that man and do it w cash!

Our tour guide, Joe was knowledgeable and his love of the city's history and architecture was apparent in his descriptions and presentation. The sunset Architecture Tour is a must for visitors as well as those who already call Chicago home. It was great to see my city from this different vantage point! Watching the landscape light up as the sun went down was beautiful!

If you're visiting #Chicago, then you absolutely need to consider a river cruise! It's a great way to see more of the city's architecture, and there are views that are better from the river. We took the 6:15 cruise, and it was beautiful outside! 🤩 Definitely worth the experience. Our guide was extremely informative and very funny, and the captain gave us a smooth ride the entire time. The staff was great overall. 👌 Such a great complement to walking around the city.

Patrick was a terrific docent. He’s a comfortable & confident public speaker, who’s insightful, interesting, informative, & knowledgeable. He provides background & history about the growth and city/river’s development. His brief bit at the end about “do one small thing to make the world a better place” was a nice touch. This tour is highly recommended as a way to see a considerable portion of the city in a relaxing atmosphere.

The Architectural tour was fantastic. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the buildings and it was a fun time. Glad I got to experience this while I was in Chicago. I went around 315 it wasn't a full boat but it didn't feel like it was overloaded. Enjoyed the experience.

Becky was great! She was super knowledge, very informative and well spoken. Would recommend to anyone coming to see the city. Loved all the history that was shared. Also will ABSOLUTELY come back and do it again, can't wait to see the new city skyline coming up.

We had a great time on this tour. It was clean and comfortable. Our tour guide was entertaining and funny. The trip was quick, one hour, which was the perfect legnth even for our two teens. They didn't want to go but ended up enjoying it too. There was a bar with snacks downstairs and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. We were staying on Michigan Ave so we were able to walk to the the launch location. Everything was easy.

We had the best time on our tour! Our tour guide, Brandon (Don), was fabulous! He mentioned it was the second one he had given and that was hard to believe! Lots of info and humor, very entertaining. Brandon is an area high school history and economics teacher - at the end of the tour my 19 year old said he wished he had a history teacher like that when he was in high school. Our group ranged in age from 16-46 and we all laughed and had a great time. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend! Great job Brandon!

Chicago is beautiful, especially at sunset! This tour is my go-to to impress out-of-town visitors, and having Kyle as our guide made it even better. It didn't sound like a script, just him sharing stories about the history of the amazing city we were cruising through. He topped it off with some personal recommendations that made me, a 10-year native, inspired to go explore more.

The Architecture River Cruise is the best way to see Chicago. Go for the slot around the Sunset time of the day. By this way, you can enjoy both the day and night views of the buildings. The guides are very knowledgeable and provides great information on the history of the buildings that adorn the Chicago skyline. A must do thing in Chicago.

Not a bad use of time when you're downtown! 3:15 in the afternoon is the perfect time to take this tour. I wasn't paying too much attention to the content. More so just zoning out and enjoying the weather and the sights along the river. When I was paying attention, the information was interesting and the speaker was engaging. Alcohol, drinks and snacks served on board but you can BYOB.

Absolutely brilliant tour. I am not an architecture buff nor ever thought I would be remotely interested in doing a 60min tour about architecture in downtown Chicago. I took the plunge to kill a couple of hours and had a fantastic time. The guide Antonio was impeccable in his narrative but also super relatable, fun, and incredibly engaging. Not only did I learn heaps about architecture and the history of Chicago, but this tour also gives you a unique view on the city from the river. I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting and spending a few hours downtown.

This is the best attraction in Chicago & it should be on top of your bucket list. The boat architecture tour is super awesome which gives you a quick overview & interesting places to visit during the stay in Chicago. I’m unable to recall his name but the tour guide was phenomenal & explained the history of each building quite well. He is full of energy & enthusiasm which keeps everyone glued to the tour. He played the Harmonica quite well which was an icing on the cake.

Just went on the 60-minute architecture tour along the river. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided informative and entertaining commentary at an impressively fast pace for nearly the entire ride. His passion for architecture shines through, and I’d recommend this to any visitors who have even a cursory interest in learning more about Chicago’s distinctive skyline.

We had an amazing sightseeing adventure due to our awesome guide Ricki. He was so knowledgeable and presented the information in such a pleasant way to leave us with an enjoyable experience!! He gave us the interesting history and facts of Chicago and the incredible makeup of the river's waterway. I would recommend this sightseeing tour to all visitors of the Windy City!

Bought tickets for the 5:45 tour with Josh and it was great…apart from the cold and wind! They provided ponchos as it had been raining earlier and the seats were wet. We got to see the beautiful skyline in the daylight and then in twilight as the sun was setting and all the city lights illuminated the night sky! It was absolutely beautiful!! Got great views of the city from unique perspective of the river! Josh did an amazing job…he was funny and had a fun spin on his stories! Loved his unique song about some of the architecture of the city! Highly recommend…go see Josh!

We did the architecture boat tour on Sunday. Luckily the weather ended up being great. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the tour guide, but he is the one that came from Seattle. He taught us a lot of interesting things about the architecture, architects, the Chicago fire and some other fun facts about the area. I found it genuinely interesting and to be honest it really increased my respect for good city planners, architects and engineers. Would definitely recommend!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience on the Shoreline Sightseeing River boat tour! Our guide, Tori, was truly exceptional. Her knowledge of the buildings along the tour route was impressive, and her humor, filled with puns and jokes, added a delightful touch to the journey. Tori made sure we didn't miss any photo opportunities, even coordinating with the iconic "L" trains for some memorable shots. Overall, a phenomenal and enjoyable tour – highly recommended!

20/10 experience, the crew of the boat really make this a pleasant experience. I’ve taken a lot of tours and sometimes it’s like a robot reading a script, these guys were so fun and learning about the city and seeing it all from the river was so unique and fun! If you’re visiting I highly recommend it.

We did the Chicago Architecture River Boat Tour. Kevin was the tour guide and he was fantastic. We could hear him clearly over the PA system even with his mask. The tour guide was funny and polite and friendly, but if you go on an architechtural tour, bring a cushion, because the seats are wooden benches. Its also windy while out on the lake, so bring a jacket and a hat or a hooded sweatshirt

Talk about a great guide! Kevin was absolutely amazing! You can always tell when it's just a job for someone or this is their passion! No doubt in my mind how passionate Kevin was about his city! I felt so lucky to have gotten him for my first tour of downtown Chicago! He made each building come alive and changed my whole outlook on what I think of architecture. I was a bit hesitant to pay the price for the tour, but now I'm so glad I did. It was more than worth the cost to learn about the city of Chicago and it's amazing buildings. Thanks Kevin and I hope to visit you again the next time I'm there! I'll bring my guitar next time and we can play a duet! BTW, Kevin plays a mean harmonica! For him, I'll sing "Working Man", we replace the guitar solo, for a harmonica solo from Kevin!

Beautiful tour along the Chicago River that offers a unique view of some spectacular examples of architecture. Even if you are not interested in design, you can still appreciate the beautiful views. Fabulous way to see the city. Weather was beautiful on our tour. Drinks, snacks, and restrooms are on board. Souvenir photos are also available prior to boarding and for purchase upon disembarking. Our tour guide, Nick was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the buildings and the city. We purchased tickets outside Shedd Aquarium, and the ticket on the water taxi to Navy Pier was included. Port is right by the visitor center that offers a clean and comfortable place to use the restroom and relax while you wait for your tour.

I have been on architecture tour with a different company before, but this one blew it out of the water. The crew was very nice and professional: funny and talkative. The ride was smooth and very peaceful. The tour guy knew everything about every building in Chicago. Even once he didn’t mention on the tour, all you need to do it’s just ask and he’ll tell you. I had just gotten married, and I wanted to show my wife Chicago and this was a perfect tour for that!

Good value for money. They take you around Chicago by boat. You get to see all the famous buildings and high rises, the history associated with them. You also learn about the great fire in Chicago, where it started, what damages it caused and more importantly what changes were made to Chicago building codes after the fire. The guide was very humorous and kept us engaged with witty comments and remarks. This is a must see for first time visitors who like to get a glimpse of Chicago. Remember to take a light jacket to keep yourself warm, it can get windy sometimes.

Everyone recommended a boat tour while on our trip to Chicago, so we booked it through Groupon for the first night we arrived. Couldn’t recommend a better timing honestly! The sunset tour was a good option to relax after our flight. Brooke was our guide and did an amazing job highlighting the architecture styles throughout the tour. Definitely recommend this boat tour from the rest!
